Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

I'm so glad you had a nice birthday,  Trish! 🥳

QB, thank you for all the info about BJ & family!

We had a pleasant afternoon of shopping for a wreath and other Christmas decor in our little town, then we did a little decorating after our dinner date.

I purchased a few snow creatures, and I now have a few snow globes that have dual power options - either USB power, or 3 AA batteries.  I've also acquired some lovely Nativity ornaments this year.

We started decorating for Christmas early this year, and we've noticed our little town looks quite festive and everyone seems especially happy this year!  Lights went up early all around us, and like us, many were starting the first week in November.

I better run!  I have a few things left to do before bed.

Have a great Sunday! ✝️🙏🏻

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Q: How do you get 500 old cows in a barn?
A: Put up a Bingo sign.

WE GOT A LITTLE RAIN WHICH WAS WELCOME.
THAT JOKE IS ON ME, A BINGO LADY.

I HOPE EVERYONE IN NOW UP TO DATE ON BJ.  HOPEFULLY SHE WILL GET HER COMPUTER FIXED SOON SO SHE CAN JOIN US AGAIN.
LETS KEEPS THE PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS HEADED THEIR WAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY.

MY SON SHOPPED FOR ME.  FOUND A FROZEN TURKEY BREAST WHICH MADE MY DAY, THEN STAYED FOR LUNCH.  ITS ALWAYS SUCH A PLEASURE TO HAVE HIM VISIT.

ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS MADE A HUGE POT OF AMERICAN CHOP SUEY AND I WAS A RECIPIENT.  IT WAS GOOD.  ITS ALWAYS NICE NOT HAVING TO COOK A MEAL.

DIANE......I THINK XMAS IS A LOVELY TIME OF THE YEAR.  IT SEEMS MORE PEOPLE ARE MORE THOUGHTFUL OF OTHERS SO IT CAN'T BE BAD.  FOR THOSE THAT CHOOSE TO DECORATE AND ENJOY ITS FEELINGS SOONER, I APPLAUD YOU.
ITS NICE THAT SO MANY PIECES ARE BATTERY POWERED SO THEY GLOW WITH SUCH RADIANCE.  ITS A GOOD THING.

TRISH.......DO YOU EVER SLOW DOWN?   YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING TO CLASSES TO KEEP IN SHAPE.  I GUESS THAT'S ANOTHER GOOD THING WHILE YOU CAN DO IT.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

AS ITS MY DAY OF REST, YOU KNOW I WON'T BE MOVING TOO MUCH.  MAY GET TO WORK ON THE NEW XMAS PUZZLE AND FIND MYSELF ANOTHER BOOK TO START.  I HAVE ENOUGH LEFTOVERS TO EAT SO NO COOKING NEEDED THO I NEED TO SORT AND BAG MY MEATS TO PUT IN THE FREEZER.  ITS REALLY MY ONLY JOB ON SUNDAYS.
HAVE A WONDERFUL SUNDAY ALL OF YOU.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Trish - happy Birthday
I posted the wrong model,  the model number it’s 570.
You may remember I bought  Pfaff 720 over a year ago and a new table and it has sat all this time.  So the question is why did I buy another machine?  🤷‍♀️  I guess for retreats, etc as my older Pfaff won’t live forever.  🙁. And this way I’ll be ready.

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Thanks JANET!  I really don't know if you would like the machine --  I saw one today, the throat seems smaller, but the base/bed don't know what you'd call it, where you feed the fabric through is only narrow, my Pfaff (and yours) are much wider there, if you use an extension table no problems, but I  don't.

SANDRA I hope you got some jigsaw done, still haven't set mine up BUT I did clear the table, and got space for one!!!

INDY I got a book by Maggie Beer, she's about my age and a fantastic cook (as she calls herself) there are pages and pages of h earth information, recipe plans for the seasons and then of course all the recipes. Going to take a long time to read it all.

DEVONNE that little Sadie is such a cutie, can you get her to clean and organise my pantry LOL I hope you got some rest, I think they might be spending more time with Grandma as time goes on, sounds like they like it at your home!

I went to yoga today, then to Kathmandu (store) I had a birthday voucher from them and another $15 on my account, so I got a replacement puffer jacket for $80, on half price sale with the other $35 off. Bargain!!

Also picked up some elastic for the Mr, he wanted to have his bowling equipment attached to the bag, (like a carryon with wheels ) he wanted black elastic, and got beige stitching, wasn't changing bobbins for such a small job.

So very hot here, and will be the next few days, they are saying we could have blackouts, hope all those people who want to go with just solar/wind power are happy, the closure of a couple coal plants might make it pretty hot here, at least I can use solar all day. I just need to shut the house up.

Time for me to shut down, and head to bed, been a tiring few days.

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Good Morning my Friends!

Trish: Happy Late Birthday!

Janet, all I have is Janome and one Brother!  I'm no help.  I've had my first Janome since 1994!  Delta broke it and it still runs like a champ!  I do need to make a dust cover for it on my sewing table!

There were other "kids" birthdays, I wished them Happy Birthday as I read.  One day I will take notes!

T-day will be at my house this year.  Asked Alex and Sara what they want with the turkey!  I have a small menu!  For 4 people I don't need a big menu!  I will make the Pecan Pies today!  Sweet potato tomorrow!

Saturday, we drove up to Franklin.  Stuff has been donated, still no donation remorse!  I'm in fact still elated to do this!  Sure as I put stuff back I will find more!  Darn another trip to a quilt shop!

After we dropped the stuff off we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, we both had a free sandwich on our app!  After lunch we went to Ingles and found the chopped broccoli!  Also more mini pie shells.  We did 2 different Ingles and I have enough that I am comfortable with my Holiday baking!

We did bring a cooler and ice bricks, and it was quite chilly.  We then hiked at Tallulah Gorge!  I walked all the way down to the bridge and back up the other side! 1,099 steps/stairs!  My calves are sore!  Better today.  I keep stretching them!

Sunday we went to see my MIL!  She looks good, tired but good!  Hubby did some stuff for her as did I.  He definitely did more than I did!  Saw my nephew and his new wife as we were leaving!  On the way home we stopped by mom's, and then did my Weekend Target run!  They are close to each other, so that worked!

Supper today is tree soup, otherwise known as broccoli cheese soup!  Both of us have been craving it!  It's made in the crockpot, so I set it off and start my baking.  I plan on bringing the Christmas presents down to the main level and wrap, between cooking etc.!  Or even watching TV!  Nobody but hubby and I so I don't have to hide anything as I wrap!

Nothing else exciting!

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

A man was driving and saw a truck stalled on the side of the highway that had ten penguins standing next to it. The man pulled over and asked the truck driver if he needed any help. The truck driver replied, "If you can take these penguins to the zoo while I wait for AAA that will be great!" The man agreed and the penguins hopped into the back of his car. Two hours later, the trucker was back on the road again and decided to check on the penguins. He showed up at the zoo and they weren't there! He headed back into his truck and started driving around the town, looking for any sign of the penguins, the man, or his car. While driving past a movie theater, the truck driver spotted the guy walking out with the ten penguins. The truck driver yelled, "What are you doing? You were supposed to take them to the zoo!" The man replied, "I did and then I had some extra money so I took them to go see a movie."

SUNNY HERE BUT COLD.  RAIN EXPECTED TOMORROW.  WE CAN USE MORE RAIN SO ITS A GOOD THING.

I WORKED ON MY PUZZLE THIS MORNING AFTER TAKING OUT MY TRASH AND RECYCLES.  I SEE A NEIGHBOR HAS LEFT A TOTAL OF 4 OTHER PUZZLES ON THE CHAIR NEARBY.  WE'LL HAVE PLENTY TO WORK ON IN FUTURE.

I MADE MYSELF A 6" PEPPER STEAK SUB LAST NITE FOR SUPPER AND HAVE ENOUGH LEFTOVER FOR ANOTHER ONE TODAY.  I WILL NOT GO HUNGRY, THAT'S FOR SURE.  I ALSO HAVE SOME HAMBURG AND CHICKEN DEFROSTED FOR FUTURE MEALS.  I'LL HAVE TO THINK WHAT TO MAKE.

NOTHING SPECIAL HAPPENING.  I TAPED A MARATHON OF NORTH WOODS LAW ABOUT NH AND MAINE GAME WARDENS.  I LIKE THOSE SHOWS SO WILL WATCH THEM AGAIN.
OTHER THAN MAYBE VACUUMING AND DOING SOME READING OF A NEW TO ME BOOK STARTED YESTERDAY BY RITA MAE BROWN, MY DAY WILL BE QUIET.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Met with the doctor today and the news isn't great. I have LCIS, which puts you at a high risk for future cancer in both b's. Also, more DCIS disease showed up than initially thought on the pathology report. He could also not get clear margins, so I need a left mastectomy.

The good news from the oncotype DX test is I have a low recurrence score, 11, which means I don't need chemotherapy. I have decided to have a double mastectomy because of the LCIS and DCIS. He doesn't recommend this, but it's my choice. Who wants just one, and go through this again in a few years? I need to meet with the medical oncologist next week.

I made my decision after I came home from his office today. It was caught early and that's a huge plus. Staying positive and I think it's the right decision.

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Joke of the day…
DH tells me the ceiling light in his bathroom isn’t working….the switch must be bad and he’s going to replace it. I said maybe it’s just the bulb? He says when he turned on the switch the light sorta blinked on and off a few times and then went out….bad switch or lose wire he says…(do you see where this is going?). Off I go to the home store for a new switch. Then we have to figure out which is the correct breaker so he can turn off the power supply…good idea. Then I said why don’t you try a new bulb first? He gave me one of those looks. And so it began. New switch, breaker put back on. Then he flips the switch and the light still doesn’t go on.
So I said, humor me, try a new bulb. Grumbling something about me thinking I know everything, he puts in a new bulb and voilà, the light works. 🤪😂.

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Good Morning!

DS Prayers!

Janet:  I married that!  Some days worse than others!

Made 38 mini pecan pies yesterday.  Less than usual! I usually make another batch which makes 16-18 pies.  But less people to feed.  I have enough shells to make more if needed!  Doesn't take long!

Bought Alex a Christmas gift from Etsy.  I bought it this morning!  I think he is done!  Last gift for him for Christmas, famous last words!

Today is Sweet potato pies.  Then baking is done!

I do need to work on the turkey.  He's in the basement fridge, working on defrosting!  Such as the fridge defrosts!  I have started setting up my wrapping in the den.  Hubby is very on board with this!  I have been bringing stuff down every time I come down the stairs, as has hubby!  Good thing, I keep finding more!

Nothing else new!  Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

Why isn't the turkey hungry at Thanksgiving?
 Because he's already stuffed!

HOORAY THE RAIN IS ON ITS WAY.  ITS GLOOMY OUT THERE.  WE NEED IT FOLKS.

DEVONNE.....I'M SO SORRY FOR THE DIAGNOSIS.  I WAS HOPING THAT IT WAS A DONE DEAL.  STAY STRONG MY FRIEND.
A NEIGHBOR OF MINE TOOK THAT ROUTE, DOING BOTH, AND NEVER REGRETTED IT.  SHE LIVED TO BE 90 AND SHE WAS SUCH A LIVELY PERSON.  IT WAS A PLEASURE TO KNOW HER.  I STILL MISS JAN.  SHE WAS SUCH A HAPPY PERSON, ALWAYS WITH AN AFGHAN BEING KNITTED IN HER LAP.

JANET.......I CAN UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE LIGHTBULB.  HAVEN'T I GONE THRU THE SAME MESS WHEN MY CABLE TV ACTED UP?  DID THIS AND DID THAT AND CHANGED BATTERIES AND EVEN THE REMOTES.  NEVER THOUGHT TO TURN IT OFF TO RESET BY ITSELF.  DUH.  SOMETIMES ITS THE SIMPLEST FIX.

THERESA.....YOUR MINI PECAN PIES SOUND LIKE LARGE PECAN TASSIES.  I SO LOVE THOSE THINGS.  I HAVEN'T MADE ANY FOR AGES BUT CAN'T SEE BUYING A TINY MUFFIN TIN JUST FOR THOSE A COUPLE TIMES A YEAR.  MISS THEM THO. I'M SURE THOSE PIES ARE A HIT WITH YOUR FAMILY.

MY JIGSAW PUZZLE ORDER CAME THIS MORNING AND SO DID MY KITCHEN SHEARS (FOR ME) AND 3 NECK PILLOWS ARRIVE.  I BOUGHT A COUPLE EXTRA NECK PILLOWS IN CASE WE HAVE A YANKEE SWAP.  I HAVEN'T HEARD ABOUT ANY HOLIDAY PARTY OR DINNER YET THIS YEAR BUT I CAN ALWAYS GIVE THEM AS GIFTS ANOTHER TIME.
I PLAN TO ORDER SOME STAMPS ONLINE TODAY.  I NEED TO GET OUT SOME XMAS CARDS, THE SOONER THE BETTER.
AS FOR COOKING TODAY, ITS GOING TO BE CHILI.  I HAVE CHICKEN BREAST ALSO DEFROSTED SO MAYBE A SMALL POT OF CHICKEN RICE SOUP.  AS THINGS HAPPENED, WHEN I MADE MY LAST POT THIS PAST WEEKEND I NEVER GOT TO HAVE ANY FOR MYSELF.  DISHED IT ALL OUT.  COULDN'T LEAVE OUT ANOTHER 2 NEIGHBORS WHO HAPPENED TO BE IN THE HALL WHEN I DELIVERED TO A FRIEND.  EXCEPT FOR TASTE TESTING I NEVER GOT A BOWL.  I THINK I WILL MAKE AMENDS TODAY.

THAT'S IT LADIES.  I WILL BE COOKING A BIT, CLEANING A BIT (VERY LITTLE), SOME PUZZLES AND READING AND OF COURSE THE EVER ENJOYING TV.  HAVE A GOOD DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

QB I don't use a muffin tin.  I buy the mini pie shells!  Easier than the pecan tassies!    BTW some stores carry the "shells" for the tassies!

Re: ODT SUNDAY NOV 24 ~ SAT NOV 30

SANDRA & THERESA  I had to do a quick look for Tassies, had no idea what they were, so kind of a muffin/pie??

SANDR I am heading to find a jigsaw, it's so very hot today, indoors all day is th plan, I have already put a bottle of water in the freezer to take to Dean - the Mr will pick him up, going to be 100+ NOT fun, and they are saying we can expect rolling blackouts to cope with the demand, honestly, what kind of stupid decides to "go green" without a plan to give us power in summer for heatwaves GRRR!!!

THERESA did you get the machines out, my plan for my fabric is OUT, I have so much I will start donating it, way too much and it seems to keep growing, even though I am using it LOL

DEVONNE sending much love to you (((((BIG HUGS))))), I would do the same as you, get it all done, you will have family support as you recover, thinking of you dear friend, I guess you will be making lots of plans.

CHERYL hope you haven't got snow already, seems like it's coming down earlier than usual at least in the UK - they got snow in London already, it didn't sty, but still !!!

INDY I hope ML is feeling better, she does so well with all her health issues, she's a trooper. How did the favourite uncle's visit go?? Pete has been around small ones for so long he's great with them, they adore him, but he doesn't take any nonsense from them either, one look and they stop LOL

JANET I feel your pain, we had a similar conversation yesterday, I kept explaining what had to happen, but he kept interrupting with his idea, turns out he HAD the same idea, but wasn't listening to me at all, just having the conversation in his head I think where I disagreed with the plan -- honestly, some days I could just scream!! I actually did a bit yesterday!

We had a day on the internet yesterday, or mostly he did, we changed power companies, I have been nagging about it for months, they have not given us a good deal, he worked for them for over 50 years and was being a loyal employee . JANET you would appreciate the nagging and the Mr is always right LOL
Now I have come on to fix the passwords get the bank info done to direct debit the account, and change the passwords on my list on the computer, he doesn't tell me when he changes something and I have a list, so needed to update it. He has made lots of changes.

He needs to go buy a new c-pap machine, his is 9yrs old, and it now doesn't communicate with the company/internet as the technology was 3G, he's been dithering about it for days! He HAS to go today, they have Black Friday sales, so I'm back to nagging!

HENCE I need the jigsaw, to save my sanity LOL
