CHERYL that is gorgeous, love the colour.
SANDRA that tater tot cassy sure is popular 😄
DEVONNE funny, I guess she could see better than you, but probably it moves around. Hope you have a good week, just a little while to go now 😘😘
MARYLOU hope you can get a visit in, sure sounds like you have been busy 😄
JANET something on the water sounds wonderful 👏👏
I was at sewing today, then straight to get my nails done, grabbed a couple tops and pair of slacks, when I got home the Mr decided to go through his clothing, my gosh what a haul for the clothing bins, Pete got an almost new pair jeans, and 2 pair nice cotton long pants going to the boys to see if they fit, the rest to the bins.
NOW he has to go shopping for shorts to take away, plus nice dressy pants to go with another jacket and mabe some casual shirts, I see more discards in our future 😄😄. Also just got an email that one of the mens stores has shorts at 30% off, online only so he’ll have to go and try some on, then I’ll order..
And that’s my Sunday done
Have to be up early in the morning, so I can try to eat something, can’t eat after 7am, so NOT happy about that, I usually eat later 🤣🤣 at least I’ll have coffee, and maybe some crackers with peanut butter

Trish, you beat me to it! 😁 We were out late with my brother and son having a celebration of sorts and time got away from me.
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Four men are in the hospital waiting room because their wives are having babies. A nurse approaches the first guy and says, “Congratulations! You're the father of twins.” “That's odd,” answers the man. “I work for the Minnesota Twins!” A nurse then yells to the second man, “Congratulations! You're the father of triplets!” “That's weird,” answers the second man. “I work for the 3M company!” A nurse goes up to the third man saying, “Congratulations! You're the father of quadruplets." “That's strange,” he answers. “I work for the Four Seasons hotel!” The last man begins groaning and banging his head against the wall. “What's wrong?” the others ask. “I work for 7 Up!”
YIIPPEE, WE MAY GET SOME RAIN SHOWERS LATER TODAY. WE NEED A GOOD SOAKING. OUR FORESTS ARE GETTING TOO DRY.
NOT MUCH HAPPENING. MY SON SHOPPED BUT COULD NOT FIND A TURKEY BREAST AND THEY WERE OUT OF CANNED MIXED VEGGIES. HE GOT ME PEAS AND CARROT MIX INSTEAD. I DON'T GET FROZEN VEGGIES BECAUSE MY FREEZER ISN'T LARGE ENOUGH AFTER STORING MY MEATS AND A FEW OTHER NEEDED ITEMS.
HE WAS PLEASED TO TAKE HOME TATER TOT CASSY AND SOME ITALIAN SANDWICHES. AND I AM PLEASE NOT HAVING TO COOK TODAY SINCE I HAVE A BIT OF THAT LEFT FOR ME.
WE WERE TALKING ABOUT SLEEP PATTERNS AND HOW HE CAN'T SEEM TO SLEEP MORE THAN 5 OR 6 HOURS A NITE TOPS. HE COULDN'T UNDERSTAND OTHERS SLEEPING MORE THAN 8 OR 9 HOURS A NITE. WELL, LO AND BEHOLD LADIES, HE TEXTED ME THIS MORNING. HE GOT 12, YES 12 HOURS OF SLEEP LAST NITE. FUNNY HOW THAT WORKED OUT. BUT HE SURE FELT RESTED HE TOLD ME.
I'M GLAD THE JOKES GIVE SOME OF YOU A SMILE NOW AND THEN. IT SURE MAKES MY MORNING FEEL BETTER TO READ THEM.
NOTHING ELSE TO REPORT SINCE ITS MY OFFICIAL DAY OF REST. THE ONLY THING I NEED TO DO IS PUT MY MEATS IN BAGGIES TO FREEZE. I HAVE SOME PAPER PLATES SO HOPE TO REDUCE MY DISH WASHING NEEDS WITH THOSE.
HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

Sadie Grace spent last night with me, only her this time. This morning she said to close my eyes, she had a surprise for me. She had spread out the comforter as best as she could and put the throw on the top. So sweet.
I am headed over to Gary's place. We're driving to Alabama to a popular restaurant about an hour away from us. I normally don't like to be out after dark, but I will be fine driving home from their place. Just watch out for the deers.

Devonne, glad you're feeling like going out some. New sights, new sounds always add something to our lives. Does Sadie Grace sleep with you? I know how kids squirm and kick so I was wondering.
Yesterday, we went to the yearly Veteran's luncheon our church does. It's always very nice, good food, each veteran standing as his service's anthem is sung. We all clap for them and we got to join the small choir in some patriotic songs. One of the highlights is the awarding of Quilts of Valor to 5, this year, vets. They hold each one up for all to see and then wrap the quilt around it's recipient after giving a short history of his service record. It's very moving and the quilts are beautiful. Our friend, Dewey, was the only WWII vet there and the oldest at 98. Howard sat next to him and helped him up each time he/we had to stand. They were both in the Navy. Howard (Vietnam vet) is young enough to be his some of the Friday group for the free lunch the vets get at Appleby's. Do tell...

Devonne, I am a bit jealous that you get to see your grandchildren so often. Sadie Grace (love her name!) sounds so sweet.
In recognition of Veterans Day, one of my nieces posted a picture on Facebook of my Dad and his 5 brothers who all served in the military during WW II. Dad was on a ship at sea when I was born, didn’t get home until I was 6 months old. Her name is Rebecca Anderson if you want to search for her on Facebook to see the post.
When I was walking around in the yard this afternoon, I noticed a few blooms on one of my azaleas and on a day lily! Definitely a rare thing in southern Illinois in November.
David invited me to their house for Thanksgiving. I will drive down on Wednesday and return on Saturday. I would stay another day or two if they didn’t all have plans for the weekend.
Indy, I attended a Quilts of Valor ceremony recently and found it very moving. Since then I have been working on some quilts to donate and mentally making a list of veterans that I would like to receive one. Hopefully, I can get in touch with the nearest QOV organization and set up a ceremony in my hometown, maybe in the spring.

Thank you to all Veterans.
It poured all night into this morning. Needed of course but I’m no fan of lightening and we had that too. The lights/power kept flashing from about 7-9pm. But finally stayed on. We ate dinner with lanterns by our sides, just in case.
Off to the gym, the chiropractor and then to the grocery store for a few things.
Back later.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is raining this morning, so rather gloomy. I really don't have a thing to say this morning as I'm rather sleepy. Not sure why. Just getting old, I'll guess. Don't know if I told you, but both of my girls are on a camping trip. Sure hope they're not getting the rain that we're getting.
Well, I really don't have anything else to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

THANK YOU.

Teacher: "Anyone who thinks he's stupid may stand up!" Nobody stands up. Teacher: "I'm sure there are some stupid students over here!!" Little Johnny stands up. Teacher: "Ohh, Johnny you think you're stupid?" Little Johnny: "No... i just feel bad that you're standing alone..."
ANOTHER SUNNY AND LOVELY DAY. WINDOWS OPEN, FANS GOING. WISH WE WOULD GET SOME RAIN.
QUIET DAY HERE BUT I NEED TO DO A LITTLE BIT OF CLEANING AND THEN THERE'S THE COOKING LATER. I WILL MAKE AN EASY ITALIAN SANDWICH FOR LUNCH AND WORRY ABOUT SUPPER LATER.
JUDY.....THAT'S A NICE WAY TO REMEMBER OUR VETS, WITH A LOVELY QUILT. I LIKE THAT METHOD OF DOING THINGS.
MARYLOU........GLAD YOU ARE GOING TO DAVID'S FOR TURKEY DAY AND A BIT LONGER, TOO. I'M SURE IT WILL BE A NICE VISIT.
TRISH.......DO YOU HAVE THANKSGIVING IN YOUR NECK OF THE WOODS?
I HAD ORDERED SOME FARMER CHEESE. I HOPE THEY MAIL IT OUT TO ME THIS WEEK. I REALIZE THEY WON'T DO IT ON A WEEKEND SO THE CHEESE DOESN'T SIT TOO LONG WAITING TO MOVE. I AM GETTING EAGER TO EAT SOME AGAIN.
THAT'S IT LADIES. A BIT OF CLEANING, TRASH GOING OUT, A BIT OF READING, MAYBE SOME JIGSAWING AND OF COURSE TV WATCHING. A TYPICAL DAY FOR ME. NOT STRENUOUS AT ALL. I TAKE MY TIME DOING EVERYTHING THESE DAYS.
HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

Today is Gary's 56th birthday. The Alabama trip was for his birthday dinner. We went to Top 'O The River in Anniston for their catfish. I hope Walgreens has an Amazon gift card, as that's what he asked for. Haven't made it there yet, lol.
Marylou, I do count my blessings that we live so close. Greg is less than an hour away, but I don't see Carter much because of school and the mom/dad scheduling. Gary is 8 miles away.
Happy Veterans Day to all those who served.

Happy Veterans Day to those who served or had family who served. We do appreciate you.
Devonne, that Sadie is a character for sure. I just love kids and the things they say!
Thanks for the comments on the dahlia. I would have thrown it away if not for Devonne. I broke the fist one and threw it out. Bought this one and broke it off too! The stems are so fragile. Devonne said it would come back and it sure did.
It was a little cooler today and only supposed to be 48 for the high tomorrow, so fall is sure here. I am not complaining, mind you. My SIL lives in Denver and they had 18 inches of snow the other day. Today it was sunny and 50 so much better for her.
I tried a new recipe for "sandwich bread" and we loved it. I will be making it again. Dean, Gabriel, Amelia and I ate an entire loaf in two days! I am so tired of the high prices of the tasteless store bread and thought we would try this. I think next time I am going to add half whole wheat and half AP flour. I made home made beef stew and the bread was delicious with it.
PS. Janet I googled Smith Mountain Lake and it looks beautiful.

I'm just checking in quickly. I've been busy, and about to get busier. DS's bday is next week and we got together with my brother to celebrate Veterans Day and DS's birthday 🥳 on Saturday. DS will be here on his birthday next week, then back the following week for Thanksgiving. We'll be watching his pup while he plays in a chess tournament on Friday, and possibly Saturday and Sunday.
I better run for now. I hope you are all well! 🙏🏻
Happy Veterans Day! 🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸

It must be the season for it Diane, we have lots of birthdays in November, two yesterday (11th) it's Remembrance Day on 11th for us, my sis's oldest Chloe was born 11/11 at 11 (pm though LOL )
SANDRA we don't do Thanksgiving, I am glad of that though, couldn't handle another family day so close to Christmas and the boys birthdays - we'd have to see her in-laws LOL
I do love your tradition though, and we have lots of places celebrating for those with USA backgrounds, and there are always lots of recipes flying around the internet for special foods.
I think the US is the only place that does do Thanksgiving - enjoy your Farmers cheese when it gets there, I had some Greek Feta little parcels for dinner tonight, they were yum, it was the 'real' greek feta. such a nice taste.
DEVONNE you are spending lots of time with the boys - so nice, enjoy it all, hope all goes well for you on Friday, it will be Sat for me, so I'll be thinking of you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Gary, don't you feel old when you realise how old they are LOL
CHERYL I've seen lots of recipes for sandwich bread, no knead etc, and they all look good, wonder it it's the same, I do my sourdough each week, but it's a process, have to remember to take the starter out of the fridge, then feed it, and the next day make the dough, leave o/night in fridge and cook the next day, each step only takes a couple mins really, but it's a couple days in the making LOL
MARYLOU so good to make the quilts for giving, they do mean a lot, and they appreciate them, hope you enjoy the trip away for Thanksgiving, short but it will be sweet (((hugs)))
I had my second cataract removed yesterday, it took longer than the first, I asked this time, because I had checked the clock before and not long after, and I was right, this one took 30 mins YIKES, the first was slightly shorter at 25 mins, saw the surgeon today, he said it was difficult and was quite dense, he was lovely, and is happy with both eyes. Only problem with this one is it seems to be more cloudy than I remembered from the first surgery, only on 1st day though, so I'm hoping it will clear a little tomorrow, I am going to the theatre on Friday night, I'd like to see with both eyes!!
Thursday is Dean's formal dinner for Year 10, it's not his final year but seem like it's become a bit of a tradition to have a celebration - years ago lots of kids left in Yr 10 to do trade courses, they stay on now and do the trade courses as part of their final 2 years.
He wants to have Thursday off, a lot of the girls will, they want hair done, makeup etc, he is going to school, but I'll pick him up at lunch break, the afternoon is for activities, every second week they go somewhere, the off week it's sport at school football (all varieties) and cricket, basketball etc he loves going to the gym, rock climbing, also indoor soccer and a place called Flip Out, like trampolines. They do ten-pin bowling too and ice skating, but not long there, as it's too far to travel and get back to finish by 3pm
I bribed him with the offer to pick him up and take him shopping for some shorts and shirts - AND I'd get him lunch as well - food always wins with that boy!

Do any of you remember the two young girls in Delphi, Indiana that were out walking on the railroad tracks and were murdered? It took 8 years, but they finally got him. He was a local husband/father.
Yellowstone has returned, if anyone watches it besides me!
I invited Gary to lunch, but no answer yet. Last night Caleb had private baseball lessons. This is 2 nights a week until February. I'm sure he needs to sleep in.
Cheryl, you are making me want to plant dahlias this Spring. The purple ones are my favorite. Sadie Grace is a character, lol! She told me she is allergic to peanut butter! I don't think she is, but I need to find out!
Greg and Carter will be in Orlando during the Thanksgiving holiday. Emily doesn't cook big meals in their RV. No room for company and RV ovens aren't the greatest. I'll invite them to come here and cook if they wish.
I have errands to run and will need to stop and get gas. It's $2.84 close to my house.

Well, I'm just going to sign off, as I have to retype so much, as I hit the wrong letters so often. I hope you all have a wonderful day, Love, BJ.
