My gosh, this week takes us to November YIKES!!! Can't believe it!
DEVONNE keep going slowly, you will need to take time, both mentally and physically, you've had surgery, and now relax, rest, enjoy your visits, and just do things slowly ((((hugs))))
SANDRA I had a slow day today too, we had snapper with cheesy potatoes and stewed veggies, I made brownies form an out of date packet, it wasn't too far out, and they turned out LOL .
HOLLY, MARYLOU and anyone else, sorry I forget which injection it was, maybe pneumonia or shingles, something about being on the right to get it away from the heart, no idea, I'll ask Lang (nurse) next time, it might be just a Chinese or Asian thing, Leo is Chinese and Lang is Asian, I just do what I'm told - mostly LOL
I have been trying to get things OUT of my sewing room, apparently W's brother told their sister she's coming to our place for Christmas, if she does it will be only overnight, I have no where for her to sit comfortably, all our sofas are too low for her so she can't get up. And they don't have arms, also the bathroom is a problem, it's not designed for her walker, and no idea how we'll get her up the stairs at Megan's - honestly, he should mind his own business. And the Mr can take care of all this, I am over the bad manners, and the demands, from all of them.
I want to get my Quilt As You Go finished by machine now, it's been sitting too long waiting for the binding to be done, and the sashing/joining are all in black, really hard to get that done, black is nasty to sew, and I usually do handsewing at night, so even with the sewing lamp it's hard. A job for another day.
Hope it's a great week for everyone!! Enjoy Sunday, however you spend it ((((hugs))))

Tricia, I’m going to go with that it’s cultural, because it’s sure not science. You want the vaccine to go all over the body, that’s the idea.
Frost warning for tonight!

Good Morning, I'm not doing very well this morning. Can't seem to do anything right. Took my shower and got that done, but can't seem to get my makeup done. I must get up and try it again.
Have a wonderful day everyone, BJ.

Sorry! I neglected to get here last night to lock and bump the threads! It's the VERY LEAST I can do!
Anyway, I hope you all have a great week, and those feeling unwell soon feel great! 🙏🏻
It's been a rainy, windy few days and most of our leaves 🍂 have been stripped from the trees and bushes. The colors were gorgeous this year! 🍂
Like Trish, I can't believe it's nearly November! Time flies by!!
Hubby is off on halloween, which is great. Although the little ones are so cute, and I enjoy seeing them come to the door, it is my least favorite so-called holiday! I mean, we answer the door expecting children, but one never knows! Plus, (and this will make me sound mean, I'm sure) I really don't like contributing to the excessive use of sugar and lining the pockets of big food, 🤪 all while making our kiddos less and less healthy so big pharma gets their money, too! 😄
Okay. Off my soap box! 😉
Online!
My friend told me he had the body of a Greek god. I had to explain to him that Buddha is not Greek.
ITS A CRISP FALL DAY HERE. LOVE IT.
I MADE CHICKEN RICE SOUP YESTERDAY. SHARED WITH A FEW THAT ARE OFF-KILTER HERE IN MY BUILDING. I HOPE IT HELPED.
MY SON SHOPPED FOR ME AND GOT A COUPLE THINGS WRONG. BUT I THINK I'LL STILL KEEP HIM. WE HAD SOUP FOR LUNCH AND CHATTED. HE LOVED THE SOUP AND HAD 2 BOWLSFUL. I SENT HIM HOME WITH MORE AND SOME SANDWICHES.
HE LOVED SAN JUAN AND WILL BE GOING BACK AGAIN.
I'M SORRY I'M LATE TODAY. GOT BUSY AND THEN HE ARRIVED AND WE SHARED TIME AND THOUGHTS. THEN I HAD FOOD TO PUT AWAY.
ITS MY DAY OF REST.....PRETTY MUCH LIKE ALL MY DAYS LATELY. I LIKE IT SO NOT COMPLAINING.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Afternoon y'all!
Still working on my sewing room! Will take a good while! I found 3 machines including one in a rolling case to donate. All of them have cases so it should be easier to transport and store for the recipient! They will also take my Cricut! I'm going to move my fabric bins to under my cutting table and drafting table. Easier access for me and I don't have to depend on hubby to get me the right bin. All but one of my sewing machines has a case. Sara's machine got a case, I had an empty one! The one without a case was too big for the empty case. Darn I have to buy a case! I have a box of sewing stuff, fabric, and things like the pincushions I received at retreats. I have one box full and will start another! I am so happy I can help fellow quilters/sewers! It is a win-win!
I leave Tuesday for Maine! Should get there sometime Thursday. Leave Maine Friday after we pack, for home! I will hit the quilt shop about 3 ish on Tuesday, then will decide how much further I can drive!
Someone asked how many machines I have and my favorite! I have 3 Janome, my favorite, one is an embroidery machine. I kept a Brother. Plus my Treadle and Admiral machines both work! I need a belt and the needle plate for the treadle, some day I will get there! Add to that the 3 I am donating! If my math is right, always questionable, that's 9 machines!
I also have a box of hats, scarves, and gloves! Most were mine! I'm always being given scarves and gloves, not sure why, but I only have one neck!
Hubby is ready to help me pull bins, and such, hopefully my plan will work! If so the room will be much more functional!
Later my Friends!

Cheryl - you have a good memory. I have had shingles, many years ago, three times. I’ve always run to the dr as soon as I have an inclination that I have shingles and get a course of Valtrex. The first episode lasted about 8 days. The next two lasted about 3 days. I do not get the shingles shot and have no intention of getting it. I had two friends get the shots and severe reactions (shingle type symptoms).
DH dr suggested he get it I told him not to. I will get the flu shot because DH insists. I am behind on tetanus shot. I am not getting Covid not Rsvd. I am done with vaccines.
Trish I left this past Wed and returned home today, Sunday.

SANDRA so nice of you to share, shame about the missed items, I have had problems here a few times, just the wrong time, it would be in stock the next day - often can't be helped, I know you will manage till next time.
JANET so did you get lots done? I sometimes do tons, other times not so much, Vaccines are not being used here as much now either, I have to have mine, but I plan it so I get the most out of it, usually get the flu one around late April or early May, they have the most effect for 6 months and often we are travelling.
DEVONNE hope you are feeling a little easier, when will you find out about what treatment, I still don;t know about my brother, maybe I should ring him, I just don't really want to talk to his wife, and she answers his phone.
I will ask Lang about why the right arm, I see her net week for my Prolia injection, must remember to get it first though LOL
It's yoga this afternoon, trying to balance will be fun with the eyes being different, we shall see, I will stay near a wall so I can grab it. Other than that, it's cleaning day, most of it is done now. I would like the Mr to do the floors but he has been either on his phone, reading the paper or out walking. Time for him to get working LOL

Janet, I thought it was you who had the shingles. I, too, do not plan to get many of the recommended vaccines.
Diane, I agree with you about Halloween. Not a fan of this "holiday" at all. Granddaughter walked with her dad around my neighborhood for a little over a mile. She wanted to stop and come home. Then when she got here, she just collapsed on the floor in a dramatic gesture.! She is 11 now and too chubby (not fat) and does not want to walk any distance at all.
Aaron got great results from his last PET scan so he does not need another one for a year from June. He thought he would have to schedule one for December, but does not, so that is wonderful.
My nephew had his last radiation treatment and says he feels good. Had a few weeks of terrible mouth sores and lost 50 pounds between the sores and chemo, but he could use the weight loss. He says at the moment he has a clean bill of health. The tumor in his nasal area did not shrink much but they do not seem to think that is an issue?
We had trick or treat in our neighborhood today from 3-5 p.m. We had lots of kids and I ran out of candy just at the end of the time period. Many of the neighborhoods around us had it last night, so I think we also go many of those kids. Not too many older ones this year.

Cheryl, that's wonderful news regarding your son! Prayers continue for him and your nephew!
I've also had shingles more than once, but not for many years. I'm not getting the shingles vaccine either, or any others for that matter. 🙅🏼
Trish, I hope your vision improves soon!
Devonne, I hope you are feeling well!
I need to do more reading! Maybe in the evening tomorrow (Monday) I can do so.
Bye for now 😁🤗🤗

Sandra, Manda has a Husquvana that I bought her refurbished, and loves it. I think Janome makes them now. I also gave her my serger and embroidery machines, she uses them a lot. I gave Jules my Janome Gem travel machine. I now have only my Janome 6500, which is a workhorse.
My arms are no longer sore from the vaccines. I have to see how soon I can get the RSV and shingles. As for the Covid, I’m sure Ashley and my great niece’s mom, who have Long Covid, wish they had been eligible for the vaccine before they got the disease.
Sunny and 50’s today! We went and paid the 3rd quarter property taxes, and filled my gas tank. $2.79 at the corner, and they pump it for us!

Forgot to ask Carol if she’s going to the quilt show? It’s the only thing I miss about Manda living in Houston.

I got the pathology report in My Chart. Four lymph nodes were removed; one had cancerous cells. Cancerous cells are supposedly removed along with the lymph nodes. I'll know more details Thursday. Feeling so blessed this was caught early.
I am still sore under my arm from the lymph node biopsy. I don't think it's healed yet. Feels better when I keep my arm raised, but I can't do that all day, lol! I am using an ice pack. I haven't had any pain/symptoms from the lumpectomy. These were two separate surgeries done at the same time.
I have learned your doctor doesn't know how many lymph nodes he is removing so don't ask, lol! The pathologist doesn't even know how many until he puts the tissue under a microscope. Interesting! Lymph nodes vary by individual as to how many a person has and they are often embedded in fatty tissue. I've also learned how important it is to locate the sentinel node and the importance of the lymph node biopsy, as this is where a tumor normally first spreads.
I only have two sewing machines. My Brother is a sewing and embroidery machine and I have a Sears Elite (made by Janome). My first machine was a Morse Brothers and I had a White serger.
Cheryl, how does Aaron feel? Does he say his strength is back? So sorry about your nephew. That doesn't sound right they aren't worried about the tumor?
Trish, I encourage you to call your brother. Just ask for him and not talk to her long.
Sandra, sorry Matt got a few things wrong. Billy used to do that, but he always went right back to the store, because it was something I needed right then.
I know I'm forgetting to say things, but this is long enough...more later.

I went on the patio and made some pictures. My rose bushes really need some help, but it will have to wait. This is the most yellow roses this bush has had. My azaleas are blooming and the knockout roses.
Sorry, but these aren't the greatest pictures. I had to zoom in from the patio, as I still had my gown on and no shoes, lol.
I wish I knew what kind of rose bush this is...it's so delicate. Not many petals on the inside; very unusual, but it's a beautiful pink and blooms heavily several times a year.
The knockout roses have bloomed profusely this year. I need to do some trimming, but everything is on hold for a little while.

I just finished a late lunch. Had to go to my doctor, today. Have had a bit of a relapse over the past 4 days and decided I'd better try see him. I was able to get an appt. at 10:15, read two paragraphs in my book while waiting and was called in. He's an older man but besides his individual practice, he also works in the ER (his specialty) and he told me he'd seen many cases with the same respiratory symptoms I've had. The bad news: the coughing often lasts for several, even up to, 6 wks. Didn't want to give me an antibiotic since I've already had this bug for 10 days and over the years, have had reactions to several categories of antibiotics, thus running the risk of another reaction and further limiting safe ones for me. He did give me a scrip for Tessalon Pearls. We had other Rx's waiting at W-M and were planning to stop there on the way home. So, now I'm done for the day...(I was offered a flu shot this morning, but I didn't want to do that while I'm sick...)
Sorry to hear about Tracy's ordeal. Poor dear. Hard on you, too, BJ.
My sewing machines are several, too. At one time, I only had my Husquvarna Viking which I got in the '60s and used exclusively for many years. When Howard became interested in them, suddenly, we had an old Brother, 2 Pfaffs, one his, one mine, and a couple others (now in the basement and I've forgotten their names) and finally, I was able to get a Featherweight. I'll always keep the Viking, my Pfaff, and the Featherweight. Would love to donate the others, but not sure where around here and I can't carry them up the stairs so I imagine they'll stay right where they are. Plus now, I really only do hand sewing--seldom(never) use any of the machines. Feel bad about that, but it's where I'm at, now.
Cheryl, that's fantastic news for Aaron and of course, YOU! He and Katy must be over the moon.
Hope your nephew will be okay, too.
We see so many shopping for others at W-M, now. I think, what a crummy job. And they take up a lot of room in the aisles. But, everyone acts nicely, and it all works. I'm obviously so spoiled.
Trees are still beautiful, but leaves are getting sparcer and sparcer. Guess that's not a word, but you know what I mean. It's been sunny most days for weeks which is nice. Is getting cooler.
Enjoy your evening.
Indy

Sandra, I posted the meatballs recipe for you. I highly recommend it. If you don't want to make the BBQ sauce, you can use a marinara sauce. The BBQ sauce is delicious though.
