There was an elderly couple who in their old age noticed that they were getting a lot more forgetful, so they decided to go to the doctor. The doctor told them that they should start writing things down so they don't forget. They went home and the old lady told her husband to get her a bowl of ice cream. "You might want to write it down," she said. The husband said, "No, I can remember that you want a bowl of ice cream." She then told her husband she wanted a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream. "Write it down," she told him, and again he said, "No, no, I can remember: you want a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream." Then the old lady said she wants a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top. "Write it down," she told her husband and again he said, "No, I got it. You want a bowl of ice cream with whipped cream and a cherry on top." So he goes to get the ice cream and spends an unusually long time in the kitchen, over 30 minutes. He comes out to his wife and hands her a plate of eggs and bacon. The old wife stares at the plate for a moment, then looks at her husband and asks, "Where's the toast?"
OUR DAYS ARE GETTING COOLER, IN THE 50S RANGE DAYS. FALL IS FINALLY HERE. NITES ARE DIPPING TO THE 30S REGULARLY.
PLANS FOR TODAY ARE MINIMAL. SOME OF THIS AND THAT AND A PORK CHOP BAKE FOR SUPPER. NOTHNG EXCITING I'M AFRAID. I WATCH A LOT OF TV AND READ THESE DAYS.
WISHING YOU ALL A FINE DAY. HUGS, QB S

Cheryl, the Tdap is good for ten years, I think. I got it when Manda was pregnant. I have to see if I need a booster. Pneumonia is one and done. I plan to get the RSV and shingles.
Windows closed, high today only in the 50’s. The leaves are really coming down!
I bought a roast with veggies at Aldi, it’s in the crockpot. I couldn’t use the seasoning packet because it contained soy, so I put an onion soup packet in. I haven’t made a roast in years!
No errands today!

Today I drove for the first time since before my surgery. I need to walk more to help get my energy back, so I went to Walmart and got a few groceries. I got tired really fast.
I want to get the flu and Covid shots, but I will ask my doctor next week when this can happen. I got a shingle shot back in 2015, but my family doctor says I need another one. I haven't gotten one yet.
I don't know what my future treatment(s) will be, but I will find out Thursday. It could be radiation only, or it could be chemotherapy too. He did say definitely radiation and hormone therapy pills for 5 years. Not sure about the chemo yet. The radiation can't start until my incisions are healed.
I shouldn't have looked in the mirror at Walmart, lol! I look fatigued and bags under my eyes. Oh well, it is what it is!

DEVONNE I am glad you were able to get out by yourself, being independent is good for you, just don't overdo it ((((hugs)))) enjoy the help when you have it, and just recuperate!
SANDRA sounds a bit like our house with that joke, he is always telling me things when I am in the kitchen cooking/sizzling steak etc, or running my hairdryer, as many times as I ask he still can't figure out he should wait till the noisy job is done LOL Reading is good, I am doing a lot of that lately too!!
JANET when do you leave? I'm happy for you that the pool is now away, it's a shame you can only use them such a short time, I occasionally miss ours, BUT not the cleaning etc
HOLLY I have the 'flu and covid, but 2 weeks apart, also the pneumonia when its due, and the others too, the nurse keeps me up to date, I just roll up the sleeve LOL I remember one has to be right arm because of being near the heart, otherwise I don't remember, we can get a list of what and when injections were or are due.
I drove to my sis's yesterday, the eye paid for it a bit, it was quite glary, and I was driving quite a while, and I guess both eyes were trying to work together, it's not a great deal of difference, but there is a difference. And I will need new prescriptions for both distance and reading, just can't be tested till end of Nov at the earliest - YUK!! I really am not a good patient LOL
I took heed of your gifting CHERYL and took 5 quilts to my sis to give to family, one of her neighbours saw them, she was impressed, wanted to borrow one to take on an outing today, Sis says she will return it, hope so, I was hoping that my niece would get that one LOL
Feels good to get some out of the house - I need to stop making them, but I do enjoy it. It's been quite cool today, seems to be happening every year, we are not getting the summer heat till January, not complaining, I dislike the heat as you all know!
Please keep Tracy in your thoughts, she has more surgeries to come yet.
I know I am forgetting people here, need to get more organised, I did read your all news though ((((hugs))))

Good Morning, I'm not doing very well this morning, so will be very brief. It has been raining overnight. Don't think it is now. Took Frank his coffee, think he is just going to lay in bed for awhile, good plan!! Think I will just sign off, can't think of a thing to say. Have a good day everyone. BJ.

An elderly couple are in church. The wife leans over and whispers to her husband, "I just let out a long, silent fart. What should I do?" The husband replies, "First off, replace the batteries in your hearing aid!"
ITS GETTING COOLER THIS WEEK. ONLY THE 50S BUT SUNNY.
I FINISHED ONE JIGSAW AND STARTED ANOTHER IN THE COMMON ROOM. TALKED WITH A RESIDENT WHO DOES THEM IN HER APT ON A TILTED BOARD.

TONITE ITS CHICKEN RICE SOUP NITE. A COUPLE OF SICKY RESIDENTS ARE ON MY LIST. AND MY SON WILL TAKE SOME HOME TOMORROW. HE'S SHOPPING FOR ME SUNDAY.
NOT MUCH HAPPENING. I NEED TO SORT MY PILLS FOR THE WEEK. AND I HAVE A SINKFUL OF DIRTY DISHES FROM LAST NITE I JUST COULD NOT FACE AT THE TIME. WILL GET THOSE CLEARED UP.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Trish, I never heard of getting an injection in the right arm because it’s closer to the heart, do you remember which injection? I saw the pix of Tracy, yikes!
We went to Heather’s so Ralph could set up her new computer for her. It took a couple of hours to stop the old one and start the new one, so we had a nice visit.

Trish, I am also interested in hearing more about getting a certain vaccine in right arm. When I googled it, the only thing I found about which arm to get vaccines was that Covid booster shots should be given in the same arm as the original.
When I saw the NP at the gastroenterologist office yesterday, she definitely recommends an endoscopy because of my long term acid reflux. Since I am not having much problem currently there is no rush and because they have a busy schedule, it will probably be in January. She thinks there is a likelihood that my esophagus needs stretched and that the Dr will prescribe a prescription med if there is much inflammation.
After my appointment, I had several errands to do while I was in Carbondale - return some too-small slippers I got recently, get some rotary blades to have for retreat, get my rings inspected at Kay’s, browse a little at Kohls, buy groceries at Kroger’s (wish we had better grocery store in my hometown), and get lunch at MacAllisters. By that time my legs were beginning to ache, I should have worn my Hokas instead of flats.

Sandra and Linda, thank you for the cards. That was so thoughtful of both of you.
Prayers for our Tracy. I saw the pictures too and I am no longer complaining about my incisions and the swelling.
Just put a load of clothes in the dryer. Greg came and visited, took my trash out and did a few more things. We talked about my upcoming doctor visit and of course, the election, lol. I will be so glad when all those political ads are no longer filling up my mailbox.
Tomorrow I plan on doing nothing. I do need to fold a bunch of clothes and put them away. It's just my clothes, so no big hurry, right? Lol.
