Trish- I also bring a “no brainer” project, sort of a warm up.
Glad to hear your cataract surgery went well.

Good morning! I have a very full day ahead. Because yesterday was a bank holiday, we waited until today to count money at church. Then I have quilt guild until 2, followed by group personal training. That sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? The trainer will work with up to four people at a time if they are at similar stages in abilities. There are three of us that meet with her once a week.

So the answer key answer was bird house. Which is wrong, as Ben argued, since there are no birdhouses in the forests. He got very frustrated, a counselor was called in, and she also said he was wrong. It got quite heated, and my niece J is furious at the school. As she told them, he is 7, and the answer is wrong. I texted Manda, who asked Garrett, who is 9. G also said right away that the answer is tree. We were all quite indignant on Ben’s part, and think the adults showed that they don’t know how to deesculate (I know I spelled it wrong), and they should realize that answer keys can be incorrect.

Quickly, good morning. We are going to lunch today with friends, Carol and Albert. I need to do some picking up and load the dishwasher. IF we were meeting in town, I could do as I please, but since they're picking us up and usually come in for a bit, I need to make a stab at it. So, until later...have a good day.

Trish, glad your surgery went well. My eyes do get dry and I should be using eyedrops more often.
It was 69 inside when I got up at 5 am for nature call. It's getting close to turning the heat on.
Tomorrow at 11 am I will have the dye inserted (tracer) to help locate the sentinel lymph node for a lymph node biopsy during surgery to make sure the C hasn't spread. Gary is going with me.
Thursday at 8:30 I'll have a mammogram, then the wire localization at 9:30, and over to Outpatient across the street for the surgery. Gary and Greg will be there. I think Emily is staying home with the kids. They're on Fall break this week.
I'm headed out to get the oil changed. I have a big grocery order coming between 5-7.

MANY, MANY YEARS AGO WHEN DS#2 WAS IN KINDERGARTEN THE TEACHERS WERE MAKING UP WORK THAY THE COUNTY ADMINTRATION THOUGHT WAS UNWORKABKE. UBFORTUNATELY IT DIDN'T GET STOPPED UBTIL ABOUT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. THE TEACHERS WERE SAYING MOST OF YHE STUDENTS COULDN'T DO THE WORK. DS ENDED UP BEING TESTED AND WAS SEVERAK GRADES AHEAD IN LEARNUNG LEVELS, BUT TEACHERS HAD BEEN CLAIMING HE COULDN'T DO HIS GRADE LEVEL WORK. HE HATED SCHOOL AFTER ALL THAT. SOME STUDENTS WERE TAKEN OUT OF PUBLIC SCHOOL AND PUT IN PRIVATE SCHOOL. WISH WE HAD BEEN ABLE TO DO THAT. I STILL CAN GET STEAMED IVER IT AFTER ALL THE YEARS. WHEN DGS#1 WAS IN KUNDERGARTEN ALMOST THE ENTIRE KEVEL WERE GOING TO BE HELD BACK. WHY WAS DGS TO NE HELD BACK, HE COULD NOT DRAW A PERFECT CIRCLE. SOMETHING WRONG WHEN ENTIRE GRADE HELD BACK. THAT WAS SCHOOL AND TEACHERS. WHERE HAS COMMON SENSE GONE. HOLLY, HOPE THE SCHOOL GETS STRAIGHTENED OUT.

Teacher: "If I gave you 2 cats and another 2 cats and another 2, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Seven." Teacher: "No, listen carefully... If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Seven." Teacher: "Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Six." Teacher: "Good. Now if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?" Johnny: "Seven!" Teacher: "Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!" Johnny: "Because I've already got a freaking cat!"
ANOTHER BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL DAY BUT COOL. IN THE 50Sf TODAY.
I WENT TO COFFEE MORNING. I WAS A BIT LATE SINCE I WOKE LATER HAVING GONE TO BED LATE. I NEED MY SLEEP MORE THEN I NEED COFFEE CAKE SO DIDN'T SET ANY ALARM. GOT UP WHEN MOTHER NATURE CALLED. IT WAS GOOD. I HAD A PIECE OF COFFEE CAKE. THE GIRLS CHATTED. THERE WAS DONUTS, COFFEE CAKE, COFFEE, AND SOME ICED MUFFINS. I CAN'T EAT MUCH WHEN I WAKE UP SO I STUCK WITH ONE SMALL SLICE OF COFFEE CAKE. VERY GOOD HOMEMADE ONE. SAVED 3 SLICES FOR MY NEIGHBOR NAN WHO WAS SUB TEACHING TODAY AND WHO ASKED FOR A SAVED PIECE.
CAROL.......THAT'S A LOVELY QUILT. AMAZING WORK. DESERVES THE BLUE RIBBON.
DEVONNE......SORRY YOU SUFFERED HEARTBURN WITH THE CAKE. ITS A SHAME AFTER ALL THAT WORK WENT INTO IT.
TRISH......GLAD TO HEAR THE CAT. SURGERY IS DONE AND NOW ITS DROPS, ETC. THINGS WILL LOOK BETTER AS TIME MOVES ALONG.
CHERYL.....SORRY TO HEAR YOUR FAMILY IS NOT DOING WELL. TOO MUCH HAPPENING TO TOO MANY AT ONCE. HUGS.
HOLLY........THAT WHOLE MESS AT SCHOOL WAS JUST RIDICULOUS. IT WAS JUST A RIDDLE FOR GOODNESS SAKE. WHY SHOULD THE TEACHERS GET IN SUCH A BOTHER. THEY STICK THEIR NOSES IN TOO MUCH THESE DAYS.
LINDA......ITS GOOD THAT DH IS DONE WITH HIS CAT. SURGERY AND JUST INTO DROPS. I KNOW YOU MONITOR HIM CAREFULLY. I HOPE HIS EYESIGHT IS MUCH IMPROVED WHEN ITS ALL FINISHED.
I MADE MY PORK CHOP BAKE FOR SUPPER. I HAVE ENUF LEFTOVERS FOR ABOUT 3 MORE MEALS. I LOVE GARLIC TATERS SO ITS WELCOME TO MY TUM TUM.
FINISHED THAT BOOK AND THE END WAS GOOD. THE AUTHOR NOTED THAT SHE TALKED WITH SURVIVORS AND RESISTANCE FIGHTERS AND GOT THE LAY OF THE LAND SO SHE TRIED TO STAY TRUE TO THE FACTS DURING THAT TIME. YOU CAN BE SURE I FOUND A LIGHT-WEIGHT MYSTERY FOR MY NEXT BOOK. I COULD NOT EVEN READ THE SUE GRAFTON ONE I PLANNED NEXT. I DO NOT NEED TO READ ABOUT A SOCIOPATH AND ALL THE BAD THINGS EXPECTED FROM THE BLURB.
WILL BE HEADING OUT FOR MY MAIL NEXT AND THEN WORK ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE BEFORE A LATE LUNCH.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS ALL AROUND. QB S

Sandra, I really liked the last two. That Burger King one was hilarious!
BJ, post a little when you feel like it. Sending you love!
I got a phone call today from the nurse at my doctor's office. She told me I will be more tender from the lymph node biopsy than the lumpectomy. I was wondering if anyone was going to call me. She answered a lot of my questions. I read I may not even need radiation since it's Stage 1, but she said everyone that has a lumpectomy needs radiation.
I need to shampoo the carpet later, as I won't be able to shampoo/vacuum for awhile. It will be only the main living area, not the entire house. Hope to get the kitchen cleaned before my grocery order arrives.
I didn't comment on the bird question because it did seem tricky, lol. It's amazing what a "good" school can do for your child. Carter's 2nd grade teacher told the principal she "was giving up on him." What teacher does this? When Greg found out what she said, he was livid. He was ready to put his house on the market & move into a better school district all for Carter. Fortunately, Holly was forced to move from her rental house and she moved into the good school district. He excelled at this school, no problems at all. He is now in the 7th grade at another great school, makes A's and B's.
Linda, do you still get to have lunch occasionally with your sister?
Off to rest for awhile.

Strings, the part about the circle was ridiculous! Devonne, Manda had a teacher that drove us crazy, when she was in high school. I knew the nurse there, and she told me that the teacher did not do well with students that were smarter than she was.
The battery in my cardiac loop recorder is running low. Because I’m young, the cardiologist said, he wants to replace it. It sits under the skin of my breast. He said it’s done in same day surgery, no anesthesia, just a local, do an incision, take out the old one and pop in a new one. He said it can wait til after the holidays. The new one will have a 5 year battery life, and won’t need a receiver, an app on my phone will send the data. I was glad Ralph went with me,for the extra set of ears.

Back to the bird and tree, the birdhouse answer may be geared to the average 7 year old. Ben and G are both super smart kids, who think critically and question everything and read constantly.

Math Teacher: "If I have 5 bottles of wine in one hand and 6 in the other hand, what do I have?"
Student: "A drinking problem."
I AM ALIVE AND WELL LADIES. JUST A SHORT VISIT TO CHECK IN TODAY.
I'M SURE I TOLD THIS STORY BEFORE. MY SON BROKE HIS RIGHT WRIST PLAYING FOOTBALL. HE WAS 9 AT THE TIME. HE WAS IN A CAST NEARLY UP TO HIS ELBOW. HIS REPORT CARD CAME OUT AND THE TEACHER HAD WRITTEN HE WAS GETTING SLOPPY WITH HIS HANDWRITING. I PHONED HER AND THEN WROTE A LETTER TO THE SCHOOL NOTING HIS WRITING HAND WASN'T WORKING. HE WAS WRITING WITH HIS LEFT HAND. DID SHE EXPECT MIRACLES.
SOMETIMES I WONDER WHERE THEY FIND THESE TEACHERS.
NOTHING SPECIAL PLANNED. A LITTLE JIGSAWING, SOME READING, SOME TV AND SOLITAIRE AND MAKING SOME PIZZA LATER. THEN OFF TO BINGO. WISH ME LUCK.
HAVE A GOOD DAY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

My phone woke me up at 5 am with a frost alert! It's going to be only 60 for the high today.
The dye procedure only took 30 minutes. The first shot felt like a bee sting; the 2nd shot like a double bee sting. One procedure down and one more to go! Gary and I had time to have breakfast at a new place before the procedure. Chocolate milk was $4.95 on the menu!
We also went and voted early, so I don't have to go after my surgery.

We had a good day. We always have lunch with the nurses on the 3rd Wednesday, and that was today, so we met our friend Mary Ester at a diner at 11:30. Ralph and I had breakfast, and only ate about half, because we were meeting another group at 1:30 at Olive Garden. We took a cooler for our leftover breakfast, and had soup and salad at OG. So we had two good visits.
It’s getting dark so early, boo!
Devonne, I’m glad you did well with the first part of your procedure!

Devonne- thinking of you.
36* here at 7 am. 🥶
Lots to do today. Spent the day yesterday at the local quilt shop.
Today I have the gym, haircut, grocery shopping, CVS, auto store for a battery, UPS store to pick up some printing. Then home to get my stuff together for next week’s retreat and prep meals for DH for when I’m gone….And if time vote early?

I also did a lot this morning! Sheets in the dryer, changed the shower curtain in the main bathroom, wrote the few checks that I write, shredded, filled out my mail in ballot, talked to my brother Mike, went on the bank website to redeem rewards. Bank site doesn’t like Firefox, so ended up on the phone for a half hour with 5 different people . Now taking a breakfast break to visit with you ladies!

A mom texts, "Hi! Son, what does IDK, LY, & TTYL mean?" He texts back, "I Don't Know, Love You, & Talk To You Later." The mom texts him, "It's ok, don't worry about it. I'll ask your sister, love you too."
BRRRRR, IT WAS COLD THIS MORNING. ONLY 27*F AT 6:30 AM. OUR FIRST FROSTY MORNING. ITS 50 RIGHT NOW.
I LOST $2.50 AT BINGO. WE HAD 2 GALS OUT SICK. COLDS ARE GOING AROUND.
DEVONNE.....PRAYERS ARE ON THEIR WAY TO YOU. KEEP POSITIVE. YOU KNOW THAT HELPS.
GOSH, I WAS AMAZED AT THE PRICE OF A GLASS OF CHOC. MILK. YIKES. EATING OUT CAN SURE BE EXPENSIVE.
WE HAD OUR MEET AND GREET FOR OUR NEW BLDG MANAGER. SHE SEEMS VERY FRIENDLY AND EASY TO TALK TO. THEY HAD DONUTS AND GRAPES, CHEESES, AND SOME OTHER STUFF WITH COFFEE FOR THE MEETING, I TOOK HOME A HALF DONUT TO HAVE WITH MY JUICE LATER. I CAN'T EAT TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING AND DON'T DRINK COFFEE AT ALL.
MY PIZZA WAS GREAT LAST NITE SO I WILL HAVE ENOUGH FOR ANOTHER MEAL. SHARED PER USUAL.
I AM THINKING A CASSEROLE WITH CHICKEN AND NOODLES MAYBE TOMORROW. ITS BEEN A WHILE FOR NOODLES. I HAVE CHICKEN DEFROSTING RIGHT NOW.
JUST A BIT OF CLEANING AND ENJOYING MYSELF TODAY. I DON'T TIRE MYSELF OUT THESE DAYS. TAKE IT SLOW AND EASY.
HUGS FOR ALL. QB S
