Trish-retreat was great. I didn’t realize how good it was til I got home to the usual bs. DH was very attentive and sweet for about 2 hrs and then back to the usual. Oh well.
And yes I got a lot done, not as much as I hoped but I’m pleased.
Next event is April 28. It’s a quilt symposium with national teachers and lots of events in the evening. It’s 3 1/2 + days if you care to stay. Sign me up! Lol
Online!
SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE BRIDGE COLLAPSE. THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR FOLKS IN THE WATER THEY SAY. SO SAD. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR HOUSE AND GET ON THE ROAD. YIKES.
NOTHING HAPPENING HERE. RAIN TODAY AND EXPECTING IT TO LAST RIGHT THRU SATURDAY. A WET WEEK FOR US. I HOPE IT CLEARS UP FOR EASTER SUNDAY FOR ALL THE CHURCH GOERS AND THE KIDS THAT DRESS SO SPECIAL. OR DO THEY ANYMORE? I USED TO GET MY WHITE PATENT LEATHER SHOES AND SOCKS WITH LACY TOPS AND A PRETTY COAT AND HAT TO MATCH WITH WHITE GLOVES. I DID THE SAME FOR MY KIDS WHEN THEY WERE SMALL. MY SON EVEN HAD TINY DRESS SUITS. I BELIEVE ITS CHANGED A LOT SINCE.
JANET......I'M GLAD YOU HAD A GOOD TIME AT RETREAT. ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO FOR YOU.
DEVONNE......I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY. I'LL CROSS MY FINGERS FOR YOU THAT YOU FIND SOME NICE WICKER CHAIRS SOON.
TRISH.......I, TOO, AM HOPING OUR MTNGAL CAN GET BACK WITH US. ITS SO GOOD SHE'S DOING WELL.
YOU SURE ARE BUSY WITH FAMILY AND FOODSTUFFS. SOME OF THOSE THINGS I NEVER HEARD OF BUT THEY MUST BE AN AUSTRALIA OR BRITISH THING.
I AM PREPARED FOR DROOPY DAYS. I THINK I WILL MAKE SOME MEAT SAUCE WITH SHELLS AND I HAVE BOOKS TO READ TO KEEP ME HAPPY THRU THE RAINS. AND TV, OF COURSE. I CAN ALWAYS MAKE A CASSEROLE TO FEED MYSELF FOR DAYS.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning to everyone!! It has been raining here, but not right now! Good!!! It is 45*, so not too bad. Have no plans for the day. Will just be a spud!! Rhonda will be over this afternoon. Believe we get senior dinners today, that's always nice.
I really have nothing to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

I was shocked about the Key Bridge, it’s so tall! We went over once when the tunnel was closed, and it was scary tall. I just looked straight ahead and pretended it was just a road. Even Ralph was unhappy on it, and bridges don’t bother him.
I finally talked to Heather, we’re going there for Easter dinner. She’s deciding what to make, then I’ll know what to bring. It gets complicated, with them being vegan and us being allergic to a lot of what they eat. We usually end up with some form of pasta.
Janet, the one in April sounds great, is it far from you?

So sad about the bridge collapse. I refused to drive across the Sunshine Skyway bridge in St. Petersburg, FL. I would close my eyes and pray we made it across, lol. When wind gusts are 40 mph, they close it.
Gary and I went to La Bamba mexican for lunch. It's our favorite mexican place. We then went to Publix and saw an elderly woman hit a car. She parked in another lane, got out and headed inside. Gary went over to ask her did she not realize she hit a car. She said "oh, no. Is it ok?" She went & looked at it and said "it's rusted and that damage was already there." Gary saw the bumper move. It did have previous damage, so we just left.
Holly, your XS is coming right along!
Janet, it's really good you have these retreats to escape to and have some alone time doing what you love.
Picture of the Sunshine Skyway bridge.

Holly- this Symposium (retreat) is about 20 mins from here 😀. Only one other quilter from here is going…and she happens to be my best friend. It’s pricey but 🤷♀️ but even so, over 100 registered within the first 3 days! It’s a really big deal.
The bridge is extremely high but the cargo ship slammed into one of the uprights. It didn’t hit going under the bridge. My first thought was terrorism when I heard the news.

That is too bad about the bridge. Devonne, that is some bridge too!
Our snow is tapering off. I'm guessing we got 10-12". I shoveled the sidewalk twice yesterday and once today. Each time the snow got heavier. I worked in my sewing room today so I could watch it snow. In my photo memories today I had a picture of it snowing on this day in 2018. Of course we already had snow on the ground at that time.
Hope everyone is enjoying this day.

Devonne, I drove that bridge twice. Never again! My mom lived in Clearwater when she died. I picked up a rental car in Tampa and had to go to Clearwater. No one warned me about the bridge; they just said I had to go over a big expanse of water. Geez Louise! I made it.
The one in New Orleans isn't any fun either. Glen and I got lost and had to go over it twice in the dark.

Afternoon y'all!
Life has been crazy. Mom is driving me crazy, nothing new. Seems like every time I peel off a layer of what I need to get done 4 more layers appear!
Today, I went to get my hair done! First time in over a year to get a haircut. I am donating my hair. I had her cut it short. It's been over 20 years since my hair was this short! Feels really good!
Then home after my haircut, picked up Luke, to visit mom, to the park and the barely drizzle turned into a downpour, so we went to the T-Mobile store and got our solar eclipse glasses, and back to the park since the rain stopped, once again it poured on us once we parked. We walked the mall then home! To Target, looking for little plastic bowls for mom's snacks. Then to Publix and home. I have Tortilla soup in the crockpot!
My NSDB texted me today. It has to do with some lease mom, myself and my brother needs to sign. He's going to text me with the information the guy left on his answering machine. Like I said another layer of stuff to get done!
It has rained all day, so the pollen is not as bad as it has been!
Nothing else exciting. Luke is making cookies. Nice to have someone take over the dessert aspect of a meal!
Later my Friends!

THERESA I bet that haircut feels good, nice to have it shorter coming in to summer. I hope you don’t have grief from NSDB over the leasing, always something. I know it won’t make you feel better to know that EVERY time we saw my MIL after we left she found something needing to be done - urgently 🤣🤣 drove the Mr nuts !
JANET we saw the bridge being hit, just seemed to hit one piece and the whole thing toppled, really scary. I do hope you enjoy the symposium, sounds like fun. My specialist feels he can help with the night vision, hope he’s right - time will tell.
Good to hear you are having Easter with family HOLLY, we have similar issues with my brothers family, some are vegan, some vegetarian. ( a few drinkers🤪🤪 as well) makes for an interesting gathering.
CHERYLL hope you are feeling better, so nice when you have just one of the grands, making great memories
PATTY I didn’t realise you had snow still around, it’s late in the season for you up north isn’t it, hope you get a little rain.
SANDRA that Snood is a lebanese treat, they call them Lady Fingers, not sure what pastry, mabe phyllo, but delicious cheesy custard type filling and soaking in sweet syrupy type sauce. I suppose a bit like a custard roll with syrup poured over while they are hot. YUM, so good. You can feel the weight piling on while eating, but a little once in a while won’t hurt too much🤣
The Mr and Pete left already. And I just did my grocery shop, will pick it up around noon, love it😄
Today is getting some fabric organised for another Mondo bag. I want to get it all prepped to take to retreat, a few have never made one, so having one in progress will help.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is windy here this morning, 44*. Not a great day, we had rain overnight, but not now, fortunately. Just talked to Tracy, she's going to be late for school, but only a couple of minutes.
The flowers on my window sill are so beautiful, all different shades of pink. Some are very intense, some partly white, just beautiful. Well, I have nothing more to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all a wonderful day, BJ.

THE SUN IS SHINING HERE TODAY. BUT RAIN IS COMING BACK LATER TODAY THEY TELL US AND THRU TOMORROW. I'LL ENJOY THE SUN WHILE I CAN.
I PLAN TO MAKE SOME SHELL PASTA WITH MEAT SAUCE TODAY AND BAKE A CHICKEN BREAST TO HAVE SANDWICHES. THAT SHOULD DO ME FOR A COUPLE DAYS. THIS DAY'S LUNCH IS GOING TO BE A LIVERWURST SANDWICH. I LIKE THAT NOW AND AGAIN.
NOTHING MORE EXCITING HERE I'M AFRAID. DULLSVILLE HERE IN THE NORTH. BUT I AM ENJOYING MY READING AND SNUGGLING ON MY SOFA TO WATCH MOVIES. I ALSO GET TO PLAY SOLITAIRE ON MY PUTER AND MY PHONE BOTH. WHO COULD ASK FOR MORE.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

Nothing else going on here.

Carol, do you remember when this bridge collapsed? I looked it up and it was in 1980. A freighter hit it and it was because of wind. 35 people died. I would never cross that bridge in New Orleans. It looks a lot worse than the Sunshine Skyway.
I've been out shopping today for decor for my bedroom only. I needed a lot more artwork, a blanket, bed pillows and something to put my essential oils and lotions in. I found the perfect size box with a lid. The last 3 times I found nothing at Ross for Less, but today I hit the jackpot! They had definitely restocked. I never even made it to Hobby Lobby and T. J. Maxx in the same shopping strip.
This is the extent of my Easter decorating. I normally do the foyer, fireplace, kitchen island but not this year.
I am really tired, but I am trying to walk more. I get tired a lot easier than I used to so I need to go rest. I am going to trim my roses before the weekend is over. I only have 7 or 8.

GOOD MORNING!
CAROL, LOVELY ROSES. LOOKED AT PIX BUT HAVEN'T READ. THANKS FOR SHARING.
DEVONE, LOVED OUR CHERRY TREE TOO.
FABULOUS QUILT TRISH! OUTSDANDING JOB ON IT. HOPE YOU WILL PUT IN SOME COMPETIONS.
SO SAD ABOUT THE BRIDGE AND LOSS OF LIFE. ECONOMIC DIFFICULTIES AS WELL. OUR GOVENOR AS OFFERED VIRGIANIA PORTS. DID HEAR THAT ONE CRUISE SHIP DESTINED FOR BALTIMORE IS DUE SUNDAY. CRUISE LINE OFFERING A BUS TO BALTIMORE FOR PASSENGERS. IT WILL LEAVE FROM SAME PORT FOR ANOTHER CRUISE. I DON'T LIKE HIGH BRIDGES EITHER. A FEW YEARS AGIM WE WERE GIUBG FRIN NEAR ROCHESTER, NY TO DETRIOT, MI. WE HAD TO GO ON A HIGH BRIDGE SOMEWHIRE, SON'T REMEMBER EXACTLY WHERE BUT THINK IF WAS WHEN GOING IN AND OUT OF CANADA. DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE A PASSPORT THEN, BUT WE WERE STOPPED ON THAT BRIDGE FOR VECHICLE CHECKS AND SHOWING DRIVERS LICESNSESES. FLET LIKE GETTING OUT OF THE CAR AND KISSING TERRA FIRMA. I COULD FEEL IT MOVING, IT SEEMED LIKE. KNOW IT WAS BUTLT BEFORE VECHILCLES HAD TO BE SCHECKED SO I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT IT HOLDING ALL THE BUMPER TO BUMPER VECHICLES ON THE BRIDGE. WAS SO GLAD TO GET OVER AND THROUGH THE CHEASAPEAK BAY BRIDGE TUNNEL.
SO FAR, NOT PLANS FOR SUNDAY. DO REMEMBER AS A GIRL DRESSING UP. MY MOM WAS USUALLY UP ALL NIGHT FINISHING NEW DRESSES FOR MY TWO SISTERS AND I. WHITE OR BLACK PATENT LEASTHER MARY JANES, ANKLET SOCKS TRIMMED WITH LACE, GLOVES, HATS, POCKET BOOKS. EASTER WAS USAULLY ONLY DAY WORE THE HATS. ARE SPRING COATS STILL AROUND?
SUPPOSED TO BE NICE FOR THE WEEKEND. MAYBE SOME RAIN SUNDAY NIGHT. HOPE SO, WE NEED MORE. WE HAVE HAD SOME THIS SPRING, BUT NOT ENOUGH.
BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND ANNIVERSARY WISHES.
THINKING OF EVERYONE. PRAYERS............................................
Online!
SO SAD ABOUT THAT BRIDGE. I WAS JUST TUNING INTO THE WEATHER WHEN THEY SHOWED A VIDEO OF THE BRIDGE GETTING HIT AND GOING DOWN AT NITE. YOU COULD SEE HEADLIGHTS ON SOME CARS GOING OVER AT THE TIME. THAT'S WHY I DO NOT WATCH THE NEWS. IT SLAMS YOU IN THE TEETH AND IT JUST BREAKS MY HEART. I'M AN OLD SOFTY.
I, TOO, DO NOT LIKE HIGH BRIDGES. I REMEMBER WHEN THEY FIRST OPENED THE NEW BRIDGE BETWEEN MAINE AND NH AT THE BORDER. IT WAS A HIGH SPAN AND IT MADE MY EYES CROSS. NOT A FAN OF THOSE HIGH ONES.
STORY TO TELL......WAS DRIVING TO FLORIDA AND ON A HIGH SPAN IN THE PASSING LANE WHEN A SEMI TRUCK WE WERE PASSING STARTED TO PULL INTO OUR LANE BESIDE US, MAKING THE MOVE TO PASS THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM. MY HUBBY PRESSED ON THE HORN AND STEPPED ON THE GAS HARD. WE OBVIOUSLY WERE IN HIS BLIND SPOT. WE WERE SAFE BY A COUPLE INCHES AND IT SURE GOT OUR HEARTS POUNDING.
I HATE THOSE 18-WHEELERS AND ALWAYS MADE SURE I WAS AWAY FROM THEM WHEN I DROVE THE HIGHWAYS. HAD A COWORKER AND HER TODDLER DAUGHTER GET SQUASHED BY A SEMI THAT SLID ON THE ICE ON THE HIGHWAY. THEIR VOLKSWAGEN WAS SQUASHED LIKE A PANCAKE. NO WAY ANYONE COULD HAVE LIVED THRU THAT ACCIDENT.
GRAY DAY HERE AGAIN AFTER A PRETTY NICE SUNNY AFTERNOON YESTERDAY BETWEEN RAIN STORMS. NOW ITS BACK AGAIN.
I JUST FINISHED A 'TO GO' ORDER WITH MY GROCERY CHAIN. IT SHOULD BE HERE BETWEEN 4 AND 5. NO SHOPPING FOR MY SON THIS WEEK. I TOLD HIM I WOULD SKIP IT. THEN I THOUGHT I NEEDED A FEW MORE THINGS TO STOCK UP SO MADE UP AN ONLINE ORDER.
I DID NOT GO TO BINGO LAST NITE. WAS A BIT LOOPY AND DID NOT FEEL LIKE GOING. I WATCHED SOME TV INSTEAD. I ALSO MADE THAT SHELLS AND MEAT SAUCE UP SO I HAVE PLENTY TO EAT FOR A FEW DAYS. I ALSO BAKED A CHICKEN BREAST SO THOUGHT I MAY MAKE UP A SMALL STUFFING CASSEROLE WITH LINDA'S EASY RECIPE SHE GAVE ME. JUST A 9 BY 9 PAN OF IT THIS TIME. NOT FEEDING THE HERD.
I WATCHED A FEW SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED I THINK IT WAS. I KNOW SOMEONE ELSE HERE ONCE MENTIONED LIKING THE SHOW A COUPLE YEARS AGO. ITS THE SERIES OF THE POSTAL WORKERS GETTING LOST MAIL AND PACKAGES TO THEIR RIGHTFUL PEOPLE. IT HAD ME IN TEARS BUT IN A GOOD WAY. I LIKED THE PREMISE AND THE FOLKS IN IT. I WATCHED 3 SHOWS. IF IT RERUNS OTHER SHOWS, I WILL WATCH THOSE AS WELL.
I THINK THAT'S IT FOR ME. HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning, it rained overnight, but fortunately, not this morning. We have a very slight breeze this morning, but no sun!! Too bad, maybe we'll get some later. Frank has physical therapy this afternoon. Rhonda will be doing some visiting this afternoon, then will come by to take Frank to therapy.
We have a few more flowers showing up in our yard. It is so nice, some yellow and some bright pink. Love it!!! Well, I really don't have anything else to say this morning, so will sign off. Have a lovely day, everyone, BJ.

Afternoon y'all!
QB, I'm the one that likes the Signed, Sealed and Delivered series! They are making a new one! Can't wait!
Trish NSDB got the message wrong. Shocker! He was hoping he would get money from it, I am sure! It's just redoing a lease! Only mom has to sign!
Yesterday, was my usual busy. Feel like I got nothing done, but I did, and nobody will know it! One of those busy type days!
Today, was a me day. I went to mom's, park, for a short walk, then to meet a friend for lunch! Home, back on the phone changing my garbage service!
It will be cheaper in the long run with the new service, we save $6 a quarter and can keep this rate for 2 years! So when it goes up for others, ours remains the same! They will deliver the new cans tomorrow, one for household garbage, one for yard waste and one for recycling! Better than our old service! They were one can for house and yard waste and one for recycling. Very hard when you have enough yard waste to fill a can, but still need room for the household waste! The yard waste backs up, this time of year a bunch! I am thrilled to dump our current service!
We were cool today and will be in the 80's by Sunday! I'm looking forward to being warm again, hot, not so much!
Nothing else new happening. Looking forward to our family trip to see the Eclipse. I have a friend that will pop in to see mom for me, but just once a day, I'm good with that! May use this to segway into a once a day visit!
Still looking for someone to travel with me to Acadia with Luke. As of right now I will be driving home by myself! I don't want to fly home from there, I want to stop along the way and see a couple things! Enjoy the trip home!
I need to run, leftovers tonight, easy supper, to get rid of them out of the fridge because of the food from Easter will fill it up. Plus I am cooking tomorrow night. The boys are not happy and talking ordering pizza, that's on them. I'm eating the Chicken Tortilla soup, it rocks!
Later my Friends!

I haven't done much today. Threw away a few things in the fridge, as my trash can goes to the curb tonight. I'll do a load of laundry later tonight. I need to get back to decorating my bedroom.
Linda, I don't think Spring coats are still in style...at least not down here. I remember Mom dressing all of us up and we had black patent shoes too. You either got a blue or pink dress; mine was blue. I wish I still had that dress.
I decided to wait on the wicker chairs for the front porch until this Fall, but I found a great deal at Walmart and they will be here next week. I know summer is upon us, but I ordered an electric fireplace with a mantel for my bedroom. I've always wanted a fireplace in my bedroom. You can turn on the flames and watch them without using the heat. My shopping spree is officially over for now.
Has anyone watched the Ruby Franke/Jodi Hildebrand case on You Tube? Ruby's son escaped and went to a neighbor for help. Thank God this neighbor answered the door. Even though Ruby and her husband were separated, I still don't understand why the Dad didn't make an effort to see his children in over a year. I know he didn't live in the same town, but that's no excuse for a parent.
Netflix has approved Season 6 for Virgin River, if anyone else watches it.
Theresa, do you know what your Mom has to sign? Just make sure it's legit. Has your NSDB never asked where his Mom is or mentioned selling her house? This subdivision I moved to used to have two trash cans...regular household and recycling. We can put our yard clippings, etc. in bags by the curb or anything major we want to get rid of. They pick up on Tuesdays, twice a month. They no longer have cans for recycling as evidently no one was doing it! You can bag your plastic bottles, etc. and cardboard and take them to the local convenience center. I'm too old to be doing that. We can't change trash services in here. It's included in the sewer/water bill. I've been really happy with them. That is going to be a long trip for you. When are you leaving?

Theresa, my offer for you to stay here overnight is still good. We have a guest room with a queen, a comfy couch, and a couple of inflatable mattresses. I think we’re about the halfway point for you. And we’re a half hour from 295.
Our trash collection is paid for with our taxes. They have one company who collects trash and another for recycling.
A rainy day for us. LOL, today was Julianna’s due date day, and she sent pix to Heather saying happy due date. Smart Alec. I’m convinced she was early so my dad could spend time with her, he died a month after she was born. If she had been on time, he would have only seen her maybe once.
