Bumping this up
BJ hope you had a good weekend with your visitors. You lead a very busy life, I'm glad you family can spend so much time with you and Frank
SANDRA I just saw a recipe I haven't made in a long time. Tuna Mornay, I love it, it can be made with canned salmon as well, so that will be on our menu this week some time. Tonight it was curried sausages with angel hair pasta, followed by cherry pudding, must send a pic of that to the boys, I'm sure John will want some. That is one of his favourites. I'm still watching the Midwives, but I saw last night where the last season of Doc Martin is now on locally. So I can watch it too.
DEVONNE that magazine was not correct, the king does have a form of cancer, but is getting treatment, and I doubt he will step down, unless he becomes gravely ill. He is still doing engagements. Some of these magazines do those stories to sell lots of copies. LOL I guess Hannah is more of a horse person than people lover, it's a shame she is using the one place her Dad would use to get some time to himself. Maybe they can think of another solution for him to enjoy his space, There are some people who just don't relate to others well, they prefer the company of their animals, we're all different ((((hugs)))) Sorry about your swollen feet!
CHERYL how is the sewing coming along. I had my class today, it was really enjoyable. I got a couple more rows of Jane Austen together, it takes a while to sew each diamond to the sashing strips, AND keep them in order LOL
We have really started something with this quilt, now another 2 of our group have purchased the kit. It's going to be hard to tell them apart, we will all have to label them, or do different backs, but there is a back that is sold to go with it. So if we all have that it will be difficult to tell apart LOL
So that makes 7 of us, Kym who got hers this week didn't have the plastic template in the kit, so she is going to email Amazon and see if they will send it to her. Sarah hadn't opened her kit, so she's checking as well, both paid about $40 less than I did, so it's possible they didn't have any of the templates, but they should have noted that in the package. Julie can lend hers to Sarah and I can lend mine to Kym, she lives close to me.
Our friend Rita whose husband died is coming to our class next Friday, we decided to get her an orchid and have some treats for morning tea, she is struggling, but I am glad she is coming to be with us, even if she just sits the whole time and does nothing, We are hoping she will decide to come away with us in July, she had said when her husband was OK she would go, now I'm hoping she will come anyway. Depends on how everything goes after the funeral, they have a caravan stored that she can't tow, they had to store it as there is no room at their home, so all that as well as his finances, work things etc has to be cleared away. He hadn't retired, he was gong to retire in July this year.
It's cold here in the house now, I had the A/C on, and it's starting to feel cold.
It was hot again last night, I am really over these hot nights, so uncomfortable. I don't keep the fan on over our bed as it affects the Mr, so I go into the spare room LOL
See you tomorrow
DIANE hope you are well and the surgery is now behind you (((hugs)))

Very foggy here this morning. The bear tipped over my bird food can last night. It’s a bear proof can as large as a very large trash can. I store the seed and the feeders in it overnight. It’s on its side but he couldn’t get it open but I’m sure the seed in the feeders, etc has spilled out into the can. It will be a mess once I get it upright . It’s very heavy, I may have to wait for DH to help. What a way to start the day.
Devonne- the food in restaurants and on ships is generally high sodium. Combine that with sitting around and not drinking enough water to flush it out can cause that swelling.

Good Morning, just a quick note as I have a lot of company, Jamie is the only one up, but think I just heard Frank headed for the bathroom. Jamie was talked to Tracy though her bedroom door. We have the tiniest bit of snow on the ground.
We went out to dinner last night, the snow was heavy on the ground around here, but the farther we headed west, there was no snow. We had a lovely dinner, it was quite delicious. Well, Tracy just got up, so I should go visit with her. Hope you all have a really nice day, BJ.

HOLLY.......WELL LETS WISH YOUR JULIANNA A HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY TODAY. I HOPE THAT SHE PASSES TO GET HER DRIVERS LICENSE.
TRISH.....I AM GLAD YOU FOUND A RECIPE TO TRY YOU SHOULD LIKE. THAT'S ALWAYS SO FUN.
AS FOR DOC MARTIN, I THINK ITS THE BEST OF THE SEASONS. I'M SURE YOU WILL LIKE IT. I HAVE WATCHED THE LAST FEW SHOWS AT LEAST 3 TIMES ALREADY.
MY SON SHOPPED ALONG WITH HIS DARLING WIFE. THEY CHATTED AND HAD PIZZA FOR LUNCH YESTERDAY. THEY ALSO TOOK HOME THE USUALS, TATER TOT CASSY AND ITALIAN SANDWICHES. THE ONLY THING HE COULD NO FIND ON MY LIST WAS THE COMPOSITION BOOKS. THEY DID NOT HAVE THE BLUE ONES. I SHOULD HAVE SAID ANY COLOR THO THE BLACK ONES COST A BIT MORE. I USE THEM FOR MY DAILY JOURNAL. AND ONLY 2 OF THE 3 BOTTLES OF MY SODA WERE LEFT ON THE SHELF AND ONLY 3 CANS OF THE MIXED VEGGIES THO I WANTED 4. SINCE I HAVE STOCKED UP IT'S JUST FINE.
YOU KNOW ME BY NOW GIRLS. ITS SUNDAY, MY DAY OF REST, BUT I THINK I WILL MAKE A POT OF MASHED POTATOES TODAY SO I HAVE SOME SIDES FOR MY MEALS THE NEXT FEW DAYS IN CASE I DO NOT FEEL LIKE COOKING TOO MUCH. THAT'S THE TOTAL OF WORK I WILL DO TODAY. THE REST IS TV, READING, SOLITAIRE. MY FAVORITE PASTIMES THESE DAYS.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A NICE SUNNY DAY.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A SON WHO LOOKS OUT FOR ME.
I AM THANKFUL FOR HEALTH THAT IS PLODDING ALONG JUST FINE.
HUGS TO YOU ALL. QB S

Turned out a crap day, Ed’s dad died. He was in the hospital, came home today, and was dead in an hour. Ed was there with his parents when it happened. So he died on Julianna’s birthday. He was 82 or 83, I forget.
Offline
HOLLY that is so sad, sincere sympathy to all the family, was he coming home to die, or it just happened, so sudden.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Julie!
DEVONNE hope that he hears sooner rather than later, will they give him back pay? We got paid back to when we applied, it was welcome, I guess you don't use the term "public" we have all got health cover, it's general cover from Medicare, government run, everyone has it, but we have private health cover as well, some choose not to, can't afford it, whatever reason but everyone is entiled to Medicare, BUT there is often a wait for surgery if you have no private cover, and I can also select the Dr or hospital I want. If you are publlic you still get good specialists, but they are appointed by the hospital. Clear as mud, right LOL
SANDRA sounds like you guy and his lovely wife scored well with you! It's good you could get most things, sometimes when I do my order, even though they should have baked the cookies onsite by the time I pick up, I can't order them, "unavailable" is what I get, maybe becaue they are not out of the oven when I order them??
I had yoga today, the Mr helped with the floors, I needed his help today, our yoga instructor was the young Indian girl, she is amazingly flexible, WOW! If I could do it I would, but it's just not possible for these old bones. And our last bit was a series of moves, so fast, I had trouble getting up and down LOL She does make us work hard, even the really good ones in class were puffing by the end!
I haven't touched Jane Austen, but I am itching to do so, I must wait till after tomorrow.
I have been searching everywhere for some inflatable hangers, for our trip, thought I might get them out, absolutely no idea where I could have put them, I have looked in drawers and cupboards, finally gave up today and ordered more from Amazon, they are cheaper than when I got them last.
Want to bet that I find them tomorrow?? The delivery is coming tomorrow LOL
THERESA any news from the lake?? Hope it's good news soon (((hugs)))
MARYLOU are you settled in back home, recovered form your Christmas?

Good Morning, it has been snowing here, about an inch on the ground, but is has really slowed down now, just a tiny bit falling, but it is cold, only 36* right now. Have no plans for the day. I am wearing a sweater that Tracy got me for my birthday, it is beautiful, a deep pink that is almost purple, and a maroon, just lovely. She also got me a bright pink undershirt, well, it's almost beautiful enough to wear by itself, but I'm sure it's made to be worn under.
Gosh it feels cold here this morning. My hands are just freezing. Well, I really don't have anything to say, so will just sign off. Hope you are having a fine day, sending love and best wishes to all, BJ.

HOLLY.......SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE FAMILY LOSS. ESPECIALLY ON JULIANNA'S BIRTHDAY. MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY.
NICE DAY HERE IN THE HIGH 40S. MY WINDOW IS OPEN FOR THE FRESH AIR.
SPECTRUM IS UPDATING THEIR SERVICES AND I HAVE TO GET A NEW MODEM. I HATE WHEN THERE'S NEW TECHNOLOGY. THEY SAY ITS EASY TO CHANGE WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS. DUH. NOT FOR ME. I STRUGGLE. I NEED TO GET A NEW MODEM ORDERED.
THAT'S IF LADIES. DULL DAY. A BIT OF CLEANING BUT NOT MUCH. SOME READING SINCE I STARTED A NEW BOOK LAST NITE.
STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S

Guess we're slow starting this morning, here. We were home all day Saturday and Sunday. Today, Howard has a PCP appt. late this afternoon He's never gotten over his cough or rash. He asked me to make the appt.
My condolences, Holly. That is sad, and on Julie's birthday, too. I remember well when she was born, a bit early I believe and very tiny. Think it's for the best that Ed was with them.
A bit of a strange occurance, yesterday. You know how I often grumble about the back yard neighbor and his endless burning? Well, we were outside (71*) walking on the driveway and saw him coming through his field-sized yard and then our back yard (no fence). I had never actually met him and when I asked how long he'd lived there, he said since 2008. Isn't that pathetic? We chatted with him probably 45 mins. I'd softened up toward him a few weeks ago when Shena, next door, told me his wife had died several years ago. No wonder he works endlessly outdoor and BURNS! Anyway, I asked his last name and feel better. I mean, we were here first and should have made the effort. Howard had talked with him a few times, briefly, but you never get much info from him! I'm nosy and ask...
Wow! Janet, bears wherever you live! Only ones I see are on Funniest Videos. Hope you got Jerry to help you. Have to protect your back.
Devonne, Janet probably had the best answer to the swelling. Congrats to Gary. No matter what, it'll ease up their situation and I believe he's a worrier, so... You take all the time you need to rest up. I've found, the older you get, no matter where you go, it takes just so long and no less, to rest up. I'm impressed with your toenail polish. I couldn't reach my feet if my life depended on it, to use an old 'saw'.
Trish, I think making the Jane Austen quilt is a lovely prelude to your visit to her home. ML isn't a quilter and wasn't interested in seeing it so, frankly, I never mentioned it. There's so much to see in the UK.
I've heard of Tuna Mornay, so going to look up the recipe. Sounds good.
QB, you're set for a bit. that's a good feeling. Nice that Daphne comes, too, to add some fun to your visit with Matt. I'm so happy for them. Somehow ? I missed the Christmas show on Doc Martin. It was re-run Saturday eve. and I thoroughly enjoyed it. That series is one of the most unique things I've ever watched. I only wish they would rerun the entire thing at some time as I didn't get in on it from the very start. However, I doubt they'll do that. We were fortunate to see all the end ones after Acorn TV acquired it. It was tricky for awhile. I may do as you do and rewatch the ones I have recorded. You always see something more doing that.
I'd better get busy, Time's a'wastin'. It always is in my world/house and
Indy

Julianna is now an officially licensed driver! We talked to Ed this morning, he was on the way to the funeral home with is mom and sisters.
We got our Real ID licenses. What an ordeal! Herds of paperwork, you need some of this and some of that. It was a pop up DMV office, and not the best organized. It was by appointment, but they weren’t exactly following the appointment times. We were there 2 hours! One lady had been to a regular office, with an appointment, and walked out after 4 hours! I’m so glad to be done.

Afternoon y'all!
Finally heard this morning about the lake lots. We close Wednesday! Last trip to Columbia. Luke is going with me. We will go to the zoo after the closing then home! May do a Sam's run there to get stuff our Sam's doesn't carry anymore. Plus a trip to Piggly Wiggly for our tea! Can't find it here!
Still working on the slides. The current carousel is Hurricane Audrey! The damage was immense!
Today was a busy day. Had to run and get mom's toe goo. Her toenails look so good! I think a few more months and we will be done with it! To see mom, then to the park for my walk. Home and working on getting stuff done for my trip tomorrow.
I will leave after my doctors appointment! I am going by Travelers Rest to see a friend, then on to the hotel. Somewhere along the line we will get supper. The closing is at 11:30 am, and I want to go to the zoo, weather permitting! It should be a short visit, just want to go one last time. I always loved this zoo. I will bring the laptop in case there is some last minute thing to do.
There is still so much to do to get all of mom's stuff moved to the new bank account and to this address. Mostly the Canada stuff. I will deal with it either later this week or next week. My Aunt that is on the account is refusing to help, she could get it all done with one visit! Once I get checks I am closing the account! My Aunt has been removing money from the account with no explanation!
Need to go, Luke just got home from Kennesaw and wants to do something with me. Later my Friends!

Appt. with NP went great. She was so thorough. I am happy, as it's only 3 miles from my house. Can't wait to get my A1C number.
Holly, my condolences to the family and congrats to Julianna!
Judy, I missed some spots with the nail polish, lol. How nice to meet your neighbor after 16 years! I have only spoken to two neighbors in my cul de sac, but I've waved to several of them.
Janet, what you said about my feet swelling is what my NP said this morning. A bear? This isn't the first one that has been there...yikes!
Trish, they are supposedly separating the stalls from the rest of the shop, so Gary may still have space. Not sure how this will work out.
Diana, hope your DD is ok after her fall.
Theresa, hooray for you! Enjoy the zoo and your last trip there.
No appts. for the rest of the week. Next week is a different story and I'll make more appts. in the morning.

Holly, sympathy for your family on the death of Ed's dad. Yeah for Julianna getting her license. My Abby has her permit and will be eligible to get her license in June when she turns 16.
What is a REAL ID? Is it the one required to enter the Federal Buildings, etc. We had to get that type the last time we got our licenses renewed. It, too, had lots of paperwork. They call it a Compliant License here. I guess it is also needed when getting on airplanes.
Theresa, hooray for selling the lots. WHEW, you are always so busy!
It was 73 degrees here today. I loved it. Dean worked in the yard all day and now he is tired and sore. Not used to doing all that bending and picking up branches. lol.
I finished another charity quilt today.
I found a "copycat" recipe for Olive Garden's Pasta Fagioli and am going to try it tomorrow. Dean and his brother, Bill, always get it when we go to Olive Garden.
Offline
Cheryl, yeah, sounds like real id and compliant license are the same, should have a star on it. Ours will be mailed to us. It was passed by Congress in 2005, and will take effect in 2025! I guess they didn’t want to rush into anything. After the date in 2025 you won’t be able to board flights or go into some federal buildings without it.
Big Ed’s viewing and funeral are Friday. He was a proud Marine, and will be buried in a Veterans Cemetary. I’ll miss visiting with him.
Offline
HOLLY that is great news for Julianna. Seems the girls there are like here, they like to get their license as soon as they can age wise, the boys ( or the ones I know) didn't rush.
INDY so nice you out got to meet your neighbour. Times change, I used to know so many in our street, but as some moved out we never got to more than nodding to the new ones. Now you know what he is such a fire bug!
CHERYL your temps weren't so far off ours yesterday, it was cool all day, lovely!! If your Fagioli turns out well can you post the recipe please. Always on the lookout for something new
DEVONNE I do hope they can keep some of the space for Gary, it's nice for him to have a little space to himself. I loved the colour of your nail polish.
SANDRA still haven't watched Doc Martin, was there a Christmas one as well ??, I will have to go hunting. I have written in my calendar that there is an Agatha Christie on Britbox soon, one of her books, I noted the day, but forgot to write down the title, I think it was one with Tommy & Tuppence Beresford. My brain might be remembering wrong though.
THERESA I can't believe it, would it be a year since you started all this ((((hugs)))) enjoy that zoo visit, you earned it, and then some LOL
I don't know about the ID things, it sounds like a photo licence ID?? We use ours for ID, all our licences have pics, but we do have to use passports regularly as well. So sometimes use them for ID.
I have been searching for the inflatable coat hangers, I ordered more form Amazon, delivered today around 3pm, of course I found the ones I had at 5pm LOL I'll give some extra to Sara, she is coming to the UK with us, she will share with Julie again, they travel well together, they shared in the USA.
I wasn't even looking for the darn things, just got something from a shelf in my closet, and there they were behind some pharmacy packs, why I put them there I will never know!
I got a couple books from the library today, one is All TheLight We Cannot See, about a blind girl in France in the war. Supposed to be really good, and another by Alexander McCall Smith, the first of his series set in England, 44 Scotland Street. I tried to read another of his, The Ladies No 1 Detective Agency, but just couldn't get into it. So it was returned.
Stay warm and well!!

I AM WAITING FOR SALLY, MY LIBRARIAN. I WONDER WHAT GOOD BOOKS SHE'S FOUND FOR ME THIS MONTH?
HOLLY........A MONTH OR SO AGO DOC MARTIN WAS STARTED FROM THE BEGINNING ON SPECTRUMS'S OVATION CHANNEL. I HAVE SEEN IT OVER AND OVER BUT AM WATCHING THEM ALL OVER AGAIN. I FIND THE RECEPTIONISTS ALL SO DIFFERENT. THE FIRST, ELAINE, IS HORRIBLE, THE 2ND, PAULINE, TOLERABLE AND THE LAST ONE, MORWENNA, TERRIFIC IN MY OPINION.
HOW WONDERFUL FOR JULIE TO GET HER LICENSE. THEY LIKE TO GET THEM EARLY. IN MAINE THERE ARE MORE RESTRICTIONS ON A NEW YOUNG LICENSEE, LIKE DRIVING AT NIGHT. FEWER ACCIDENTS.
JUDY........ITS GREAT YOU FINALLY MET YOUR NEIGHBOR. ITS BEEN A LONG TIME. FUNNY HOW THINGS ARE SO DIFFERENT THESE DAYS. IN THE OLD DAYS NEIGHBORS BROUGHT OVER LUNCH FOR THE ONES MOVING IN SO THEY COULD EAT WITH THEIR HOMES IN A MESS. NOWADAYS WE DON'T EVEN KNOW THEIR NAMES.
THERESA......CONGRATS, THE END IS NEAR. I HOPE YOU HAVE YOURSELF A PARTY WHEN THE FINAL SIGNING HAPPENS. ITS WELL DESERVED.
DEVONNE........GLAD TO HEAR YOU'RE IN GOOD SHAPE AND YOU LIKE YOUR NP. IT HELPS.
CHERYL.....IS FAGIOLI THE ONE MADE WITH BEANS? I NEVER MADE IT BUT MY HUSBAND LIKED IT. HIS MOM MADE IT A LOT AND HE ATE IT AT HER HOUSE NOW AND THEN WHEN HE VISITED HER LIKE MY SON DOES WITH ME NOW.
TRISH.......THE DOC MARTIN SHOW ABOUT XMAS IS THE FINALE OF THE WHOLE SERIES. IT WAS A VERY GOOD ONE. I HOPE YOU GET TO SEE IT. I'VE WATCHED IT 3 TIMES ALREADY. TITLED LAST CHRISTMAS IN PORTWENN.
ISN'T THAT ALWAYS THE WAY, WE FIND SOMETHING WHEN WE LEAST EXPECT TO AFTER A TIRING SEARCH. GLAD YOU HAVE ENOUGH INFLATABLE HANGARS NOW FOR YOUR TRIP.
ITS A CLOUDY DAY HERE BUT WARM ENOUGH. MY LIVING ROOM WINDOW IS ALREADY OPEN.
PLANS FOR TODAY ARE MIMIMAL. I'LL MAKE UP SOME BURRITO MIXTURE TO LAST A FEW DAYS. I NEED TO USE UP MY TORTILLAS WHILE STILL FRESH.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S
