BJ, I agree with you that it's HE___ getting old! It has taken me all day to wrap presents. I still like 4 more! Had to go to Dollar Tree to get more paper. Because of back pain, I had to stop and rest several times.
Holly, it's not common for burials "at home" here, but it's not against the law. It used to be a more common practice back in the old plantation days. There are a lot of old family cemeteries that are found at abandoned houses, even in the woods. There was a small one on the main road where our other house was with four graves. Our county is required to keep them mowed and weedeated.
About funerals, I was 15 when my Dad died. Back then (in Kentucky), the body was brought to the house. I remember the coffin being in the living room. Greg asked me if this was just a "Kentucky thing" or if other states used to do this? I really don't know, but it was sad (and scary) for me as a young person. They sang hymns, the preacher preached and then everybody ate a big meal. Everyone brought covered dishes. People still bring covered dishes and all kinds of desserts to the funeral homes there.
Janet, why are you hesitant to drive the Edge? This may be a good reason for you to get started. Even if you had told Jerry about the tire pressure light, a body shop wouldn't work on that?
I didn't get to work on my wallhanging today. It's taken me forever to wrap presents. I am off to get the last 4 wrapped before more comes tomorrow. This is the last order and some of them aren't "gifts" but filters for the fridge, etc.

Devonne- the body shop will probably put air in it as they will have to move it around. Body shops don’t usually do tire work. When we pick it up we will take it right to our shop to have the tire fixed or replaced. Pity of it is that these tires were put on in March, so practically new.

Totally agree BJ getting older is the pits, but there are worse alternatives!! We are still able to do some things, and we can survive ((((hugs)))
SANDRA thanks for emailing San, I did too, hope to hear from her. Last post she said DH was in OHSU (I think) hospital, I looked it up, and one is n Portland WA, so maybe there are in WA still. I might try doing the art, I have never been good at it though, I was going to get one of those things kids use, you "trace" with a pencil on the outline and it transfer it to paper. Can't remember what they are called.
HOLLY you have all been so busy you will need a holiday!
DEVONNE I am expecting a delivery today of shirts for the boys, that is my only present so far, except for the shaver we got from our Telco points LOL So you are way ahead of me.
JANET driving a new car is a little scary at first, I took a bit to get used to ours, but I did it on a long trip,
Those beeps when cars come up beside you scared the C$%^ out of me! I hope you do drive it and get out.
I started my cake/pudding before I went to training, it cooled while I was out, and it's almost finished it's steaming now. I also got out some platters and the big cooler, I will borrow Megan's as well, I will get them to the hall where we are having our Christmas party as soon as I can. The party is Friday night.
It's a come as something M. I have a witch type dress, thought I might go as Morticia (Adams Family) otherwise I have my T-shirt that says Motivator. But maybe all the girls will wear theirs.
It's rainy here today, but we are expecting it to come down pretty heavy later and also through the night
Dean has his Drs appointment tomorrow, and I need to get to Aldi, also get some cellophane, now that is really hard to find these days. I want to tie up my fabric baskets in the clear stuff after I fill them
Stay warm !

Trish, sent you a PM.
Marylou, sent you a PM.
Holly, I forgot to say I think this is because other family members may be buried there and the home will later probably become a memorial center. Like Elvis is buried at Graceland and his family members.

SAN.....THANK YOU FOR POSTING AND SETTING US STRAIGHT ON WHERE YOU LIVE. I HAVE UPDATED MY FILES. NICE TO HEAR THAT ELMER SEEMS TO BE IMPROVING A LITTLE. I PRAY THAT HE DOES BETTER EVERY DAY.
DEVONNE......I, TOO, REMEMBER WHEN MY GRANDFATHER PASSED, THEY HAD THE FUNERAL RIGHT IN THE HOUSE SO IT HAPPENED IN MASSACHUSETTS AS WELL AND HE WAS BURIED IN A LARGE CITY CEMETARY, NOT A SMALL FAMILY-PROPERTY PLOT. PEOPLE CAME TO PAY THEIR RESPECTS AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY OR NIGHT AND STAYED FOR HOURS. VERY TIRING FOR THE FAMILY. THEY NEVER GOT ANY REST AT ALL DURING THIS TIME. MY MOM TELLS ME THAT CURRENT METHODS OF USING FUNERAL HOMES WITH THEIR DESIGNATED HOURS IS BEST FOR EVERYONE. I WAS A TYKE AT THE TIME AND IT WAS IN THE 1940S SO A LONG TIME AGO.
TRISH.......HOLD YOUR WHITE PAPER RIGHT UP AGAINST THE COMPUTER SCREEN IF YOU ARE TRACING AND DO IT LIGHTLY WITH A PENCIL. SOME OF THE COLORING PAGES YOU CAN CLICK ONTO AND THEY ARE LARGER AND BETTER TO USE.
TODAY I PLAN TO DO MORE SEWING PROBABLY. ITS A BIG IF RIGHT NOW. I AM HAVING ONE OF MY NOT-SO-GOOD DAYS. THAT MEANS LIVING MOSTLY ON MY SOFA FOR THE DAY. LUCKY ME I HAVE ENOUGH STEAK AND TATERS LEFTOVER AND A LAST BIT OF TURKEY BREAST FOR A SANDWICH TODAY. I EVEN TOOK OUT A COUPLE OF THIN PORK CHOPS TO DEFROST FOR EITHER LATER TODAY OR EVEN TOMORROW. I CAN JUST TAKE IT EASY SO ITS A GOOD THING.
UNFORTUNATELY I CHOSE THIS MORNING TO SCHEDULE MY YOGURT. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE YOGURT BUT HAVE IT ON MY MENU TO KEEP THE GUT IN GOOD SHAPE. I HAVE TO FORCE MYSELF TO EAT IT AND SOMETIMES I DON'T EVEN FINISH THE WHOLE CONTAINER. I ONLY EAT RASPBERRY YOGURT AND NEVER THE GREEK KIND. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO FINISHING MY STEAK FOR LUNCH TODAY.
NICE DAY WITH SUNSHINE BUT COOLER. TEMPS WILL NOT HIT 40 TODAY. I ALWAYS FEEL BLESSED WHEN THERE'S SUNSHINE.
I AM THANKFUL FOR ENOUGH FOOD TO EAT.
I AM THANKFUL FOR FRIENDS ONLINE HERE THAT I CAN TOUCH BASE WITH AND 'TALK' TO EACH DAY.
I AM THANKFUL FOR LOTS OF FABRIC IN MY LIFE SO I CAN SEW DOORHANGINGS APLENTY.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

Good Morning, it is 30* outside, so pretty crispy and everything is covered with frost. Know there are some folks I should thank for thinking of me, but can't remember who they are right now! My head is just not working very well. Frank just got up, so we are moving!!!
Frank has physical therapy this; afternoon and again on Thurs. Not sure how much longer this goes on, but Multiple Sclerosis is wearing. He has had it so many years, can't remember how long now. But we live with it. Hard to believe it is almost December. Then Christmas will be upon us.
I really don't have much to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well. Hope you all have a really nice day, Love, BJ.

I did it. I drove the new car. A bit strange as I have driven my Rav exclusively for 13+ years. It’s very nice. The backup camera is hard to get use to. I did it the “old school” way using the mirrors and turning about to look out the back window. Ha.

Janet, it took me a while to get used to the backup camera, but now I love it. Ralph has added dash cameras because there are so many awful drivers around!
Hesther came up and we all went to lunch, now Manda is packing to go. It’s been a lovely visit, and the house will seem so quiet when they leave!

Holly- this car has cameras all around.

THANKS DEVONNE and SANDRA got your PMs
SAN I am glad you were ale to check in, so sorry about the address, I had BOTH listed, one in the computer files, the other in my address book, and I couldn't decide, looked up the hospital, and it came up as Portland WA so thought that must be where you were, so sorry for the mix up, and glad to hear Elmer is a little better!
JANET good for you, I was the same with the cameras, give it time, I do use them occasionally now, I still don't trust them entirely LOL I wouldn't use them at all at first, it does take some time to get used to, i kept wanting to steer the wrong way when I drove by the camera (reversing) They are handy in tight car spaces though, I was very proud that I did a perfect reverse with them in a tight spot when were we away, I HAD to reverse in, and i did help, I had got used to it I guess.
DEVONNE you are way ahead of me, I did get the shirts for the boys yesterday, so I guesss I have few gifts, we will do the shopping in one hit, when Megan finishes teaching this year. Hopefully I will survive that!! She can go for hours - me, I like to know what, when and where and be out in 2 hours!
SANDRA I hope you feel better soon dear friend, those days come, BUT they go as well ((((hugs))))
I have 2 big coolers (eskies to us) to take to Sara at the hall, she has a lock up room there. I also have platters, but I must have given out my biggest ones , I also have the 2 pudding/cakes made. i have a dress up costume, but I need a wig, so I might search for one today. Otherwise I will go as old, short haircut Morticia LOL
It's another rainy day, we are expecting hail and big rainfalls, probably right when I take Dean to the specialist. And there i no undercover car park there LOL .
I wanted to do some more washing, freshen up my tea towels, because I will take a big lot of them on Friday to our party. I like that 'just washed fresh ' smell.

Nice, as always, to read your posts. We all do the same things over and over but there is familiarity and comfort in that--better than possibly unwelcome offshoots that come along. Today, we went to a "we don't need everything, only a few" grocery shopping. I like those, just mostly picking up the specials. Still $91. I'll never get used to that! We snacked when we got home, so supper will be leftover eggplant soup.
Our funerals, either friends'or family's, have always been, the initial visitation in the funeral home, then either the service there or at a church. There's most always a meal served afterwards for all funeral attendees. ML, who's a bit under the weather, watched Rosalyn C.'s service but we were out at that time.
On our honeymoon in Washington, DC, while we were on the White House tour, I saw a glimpse of Jimmy Carter's leg and foot, only, as he dashed through the Rose Garden to his helicopter. Our tour guide alerted us that that was him. I can still see it in my mind's eye when I think of it...
Howard just went to the basement. I'm going to grab MY tv for a bit while he's down there. Talk with you all later...

I went with Gary to his last SS appt. today. It said on his papers "this is the office that determines your disability so it's important you keep this appt.' He had to fill out a bunch of papers, we were there 2 hours. Hopefully, he will get an answer by the end of the year.
Janet, good for you! I would like to have a newer car so I could have a backup camera. I'm sure it takes some getting used to, and I also would be turning around and looking, lol.
I bought Christmas stamps at the PO yesterday; 20 stamps for $13.20. With tax, that's $.66 per stamp. Are they trying to get stamps up to $1 each?
San, prayers for Elmer continue.
I'm going to rest and hope to do at least one embroidery design later tonight.

My house is so quiet! It was so good to have them here. One of their favorite things was playing in the fallen leaves, which cracked us up. They don’t have oaks in their area, just evergreens, so no leaves to play in. They said another favorite was Honey, Heather’s golden lab. And jersey pizza, of course, and Wawa.
Do you all call your stuffing stuffing or dressing?
Offline
Stuffing here. Amish restaurant we were in called it filling.

We call it dressing. A related question … Do you make it with regular bread or corn bread? I use regular bread. My DDIL, who is from Mississippi, uses cornbread. She calls mine Yankee dressing.
I got a great report from my cardiologist today. I feel better than I have in a long time so wasn’t surprised. Getting the pacemaker and finding the right combination of meds has made a huge difference. Also, although I still miss him terribly, I have somewhat adjusted to life without Bill.

I call it stuffing here, and I bake it separately, the boys love it!
MARYLOU I just read about this a few days ago, can't remember where, but they recommended that the bread be half corn bread and half regular, we don't do corn bread here, so it must have been somewhere in the US. I use fresh bread, but put in the oven for a bit to dry out. That's great news from your cardio!!
Too funny about the leaves, HOLLY if they were here today they would be filthy and covered in WET leaves, it's been storming most of the afternoon. You will feel the quiet for a few days (((hugs)))
SANDRA how do you feel today, did you end up cooking your pork ? I made a fruit cobbler of sorts, I saw a video, she uses Aldi (they pay her) she made this in a maybe 13" x 9" pan, melt 1/4 cup butter, swirl around the pan, in a bowl mix I cup each of self raising flour, sugar and milk, pour over the butter, then put (about 1lb) 500 gram frozen mixed =19.5pxberries over the top, into a 180C (about 375 I think) oven for 50 minutes, it is actually very nice. I also made pasta with ham and peas and parmesan. I have 1/2 leg ham to use up , the Mr won it last week.
Took Dean to the Specialist, who was out sick, the nurse saw Dean, he's to go back on Dec 20th. She checked him out, gave him some saline spray and told him to use the vaseline. We'll see??? Who knows, he hasn't been doing so, but she told him it would feel much better if he did.
Pete is late tonight, he said work was crazy and the roads were a mess he'd stay later.
Gary is in Melbourne still, so she is cook this week, he normally does all the cooking during the week.
I have some tidying up to do, I need to clear out the stuff I have in the garage. It's gotten out of hand, then I can put the tree up. This keyboard is weird, it jumps keys a bit, couldn't be the operator of course LOL .
It's strange to still have 2 computers in here, I will need to clear the old one and get rid of it.
See you later!

I use 100% whole wheat bread for my stuffing and bake it in a pan.
Trish- when I went to the ENT about nose bleeds he said to use a q-tip with either Vaseline or bacitracin to coat the inside of each nostril at bed time to prevent dryness. I have since then, about 2 years. I guess it works. 🤷♀️

Heather made cornbread Stovetop Stuffing at Thanksgiving, I didn’t care for it. Stovetop makes better stuffing than I do, so I use that. Since I do turkey breast, I make it on the side.
Kids are safely home. Trish, they only had one day in the leaves, then it rained. We checked them for ticks when they were done, ick.
It is quiet, tho the contractor just got here, he’ll make some noise. I think at this point it’s harder for Heather than me, she loves sister time.
Filled up my tank yesterday, $3.05 at our corner, $3.29 at Wawa.
