Good Morning, I'm not sure who asked, but Frank is doing very well. He has a Dr. appt. this morning. Tracy stayed over to take him so that's nice. It is 51* outside and a bit windy, but we'll all survive that!!
I'm not feeling very bright this morning, woke up really early and got up, as I heard Frank and Tracy talking. So I will just sign off and hope I feel a bit brighter tomorrow! Have a wonderful day, everyone!! Lots of love, BJ.

Went to bed at 8:30, but been watching tv. This is the earliest I have put the dogs to bed so they'll be getting me up earlier.
My feet are aching so bad, only on top and at my ankles. They have been aching a lot more this year when I walk. I cannot step up onto one of the large curbs. No problem stepping down, but can't step up. It could be all in my head thinking I might fall because my knees are so weak, but I'm not sure if it's my bad knees or my bad feet. I want to get x-rays after Christmas.
Sandra, too bad for Mary and her angry hurt feelings, but she could have kept him at one time. Her big loss!

DEVONNE........I WAS SORRY TO SEE MY SON'S MARRIAGE FALL APART, AND THEY WERE BOTH AT FAULT IN THIS, BUT MY SON DID TRY TO GET BACK WITH MARY A COUPLE OF TIMES AND SHE REFUSED. WENT HER OWN WAY AND LIVED WITH SOME GUY WITH A BIT OF MONEY AND SAVED HER OWN. WHEN MATT FINALLY FOUND HIS LOVE, HE TRIED TO MAKE HER NOT WANT HIM SINCE HE IS 17 YEARS OLDER THAN HER. BUT SHE WAS ADAMANT. TRUE LOVE FINDS A WAY I GUESS. NOW HE KIDDINGLY SAYS "I GUESS I HAVE SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF ME IN MY OLD AGE." SHE'S A KEEPER.
ITS A SHAME BUT THIS STORE ALSO WAS OUT OF TURKEY BREASTS. THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE STUFFING MIX I WANTED. I GUESS WHEN BREASTS GO ON SALE YOU HAVE TO BE QUICK TO BUY THEM. MY DAU IS GOING TO CHECK AT HER OWN MARKET FOR ME AND THE ONE IN THE TOWN WHERE SHE LIVES ALSO. SHE, LIKE ME, PREFERS THE TURKEY BREASTS. IF SHE CAN'T FIND ONE, THEN I WILL BUY A WHOLE TURKEY AND ROAST IT. I NEED MY TURKEY BREAST FIX THIS YEAR ONE WAY OF ANOTHER. THOUGH I DO NOT CARE FOR DARK MEAT, I FIGURE NOW THAT I MAKE SO MANY CASSEROLES, IT WOULD WORK WELL IN ONE OR ANOTHER OF THOSE SO MAYBE NOT SUCH A LOSS AFTER ALL.
I HAVE A CHICKEN BREAST AND A COUPLE OF THIN PORK CHOPS DEFROSTED. I THINK I WILL ROAST SOME ITALIAN GARLIC POTATOES AND TOSS THOSE ONTO THE BAKING SHEET THE LAST HALF OF THE COOKING. IT ALWAYS WORKS OUT WELL FOR A MEAL OR TWO.
MY ONLY CHORES ON MY LIST TODAY ARE TAKING OUT THE TRASH. I MAY SWIFFER WET JET THE FLOORS, TOO. I DON'T FEEL LIKE SEWING YET. THERE'S TIME BEFORE XMAS WHS ARE NEEDED.
OH, MY NEIGHBOR DOWN THE HALL PRONOUNCED MY PIZZA GREATTT. SHE SAYS SHE NEVER EATS THE CRUST ON PIZZA BUT SHE ATE MINE AND LOVED IT. MY SECRET......BRUSH THE EDGES WITH GARLIC AND HERB SEASONING MIXED IN OLIVE OIL BEFORE FIXING. IT MAKES SUCH A NICE DIFFERENCE IN THE FLAVORS AND SOFTNESS OF THE CRUSTS. ALSO WHEN USING HAMBURG IN THE TOPPINGS, COOK THE MEAT WITH A LITTLE OF THE PIZZA SAUCE BEFORE TOPPING IT.
NICE DAY IN THE 50S TODAY AND 40S TONITE.
I AM THANKFUL FOR LIFE IN GENERAL.
I AM THANKFUL FOR WAKING IN THE MORNING.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A FULL WARDROBE.
HUGS, QB S

Good morning! I have Alexa playing Xmas songs for me! We voted by mail weeks ago, so we don’t have to stand in line.
Sandra, I haven’t bought my turkey breast yet either, hope I can get one!
I have lemon chicken breast in the crockpot, will ass asparagus the last half hour. I emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, and tidied up the kitchen.
LOL, Manda said that when she mentioned daylight savings ended, Amary cried because no one told her it started!
I checked the find my friends app, and Heather is in AC, so I texted to see if everything is ok. She’s fine, working at the boardwalk branch of the hospital she works at. With Ed on strike, she’ll pick up some extra shifts.

That was supposed to be bigger! Trish, can you fix it?

Darn it - lost the lot
SANDRA I am hoping you get your turkey in the for the big day! I know how much you love it, I need to get my turkey breast for Christmas. What did you do with the chicken, we had that last night, I just cut into 3 across to make 3 thin breasts, sprinkled salt, pepper and lemon zest over and pan fried them, they were juicy and went with the roasted and steamed veg.
I love how you are keeping with the good thoughts, it makes a difference, I have been mentally doing it, but will do it now
I am really lucky to be surrounded by family, and have such great friends in here and my sewing and fitness groups, especially lucky to have a great friend as well in my sis, we are friends as much as sisters.
I am so lucky to be able to afford the health care we have, and I can use it.
HOLLY I fixed it, strange how it does that sometimes, I took ages to fix my last post, it kept changing on me LOL I don't have the friends find on my phone, I don't want to know LOL think Megan does on the boys ones, a great idea with John driving - where is AC?
JANET how are things? Can you just hide away in your sewing room, I tend to do that, I have a portable DVD player and I watch and sew, I use small headphones so I can tune out. It's cricket season and he has the TV on for all the cricket matches, I dislike cricket, so am happy to stay away, the commentators droning on and on are annoying.
DEVONNE gorgeous work on the shirts, they are so cute, getting the names with the Circut is a great idea, it is hard to do on the machine - I did some when I had mine, had to remember to put it in backwards etc, pain in the 'you know what' The Cricut can do so much, my niece (brothers dau) did lots of things for their anniversary party. She must have taken days to do it all.
I hope your feet are ok, are they puffy, if so, get to the Drs - and make sure you have good shoes, try doing some gentle exercises, you can find many on YouTube to do when sitting.
I am still coughing, but not a lot, it's my nose draining down my throat, annoying, and I am using sprays, washes and taking tablets, still keeps happening, the hayfever season is apparently the worst for many years, and my body agrees LOL
I had my eye test today, my reading glasses don't need to change, BUT my distance do, and she want me to get the cataracts done, suggested I make an appointment for early next year and have them done around March. So I have made the appointment for January, to see the specialist, then I can choose the days I want later - I told her we were going o/seas in July, she said that would be fine, and the eyes should be great by then, usually only takes a few weeks to get over completely. She suggested I only get one set of new glasses, so I got sunglasses, and had my spare pair put in to get the new lens in them. She said not to spend too much money as I would probably need to change anyway after the surgery.
I cheated and bought takeaway chinese when I was out, so we had that for dinner. I have been sewing my 2 1/2" squares together, I have about 9 'blocks ' done now of 35 squares, they are pieced into rows across, then I will spend some time tomorrow sewing the rows together .
It's been warm today, and getting hotter for the next few days, we have the A/C and solar power to run it during the day, so we are all set!
Storm is about to hit, so BYE

WOW......SLOW OPENING THIS MORNING.
HOLLY.....CUTE STORY ABOUT AMARY MISSING IT BUT FOR THE LITTLE ONES THESE THINGS ARE SO IMPORTANT TO THEM.
MY ITALIAN TATERS WITH PORK CHOPS AND CHICKEN CAME OUT GREAT. CARROTS, TOO. I HAD ONE OF THE THIN CHOPS FOR SUPPER WITH THE VEGS. HAVE LOTS OF LEFTOVERS. I EVEN HAD PIZZA FOR A SNACK LATER. STEPPED ON THE SCALE BEFORE MY SHOWER THIS MORNING AND WISH I HADN'T. I AM UP 3 LBS. I HAVE TO LIMIT ALL MY PORTIONS TODAY AND THE SNACKS, DARN IT. I REALLY WANT TO STAY WHERE I AM IN WEIGHT.
PLANS FOR TODAY ARE SIMPLE. I NEED TO SWIFFER MY FLOORS. DID NOT DO IT YESTERDAY. I ALSO NEED TO PORTION MY MEALS TODAY AND THEN CALL BINGO TONITE. ITS A GOOD THING I SQUASHED MY DEVIL DOG IN MY POCKET LAST NITE.
YEP, I WAS GOING TO HAVE ONE FOR SNACK WATCHING TV LAST NITE AND PUT IT IN MY POCKET TO CARRY TO THE LIVING ROOM BECAUSE I HAD A SODA IN ONE HAND AND SOME CHEDDAR CHEESE IN THE OTHER. FORGOT ALL ABOUT IT. IT WAS SQUASHED WHEN I WAS UNDRESSING SO I HAD TO TOSS IT. LUCKY FOR ME I GUESS.
NICE DAY TODAY BUT RAIN COMING TOMORROW.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Thanks Trish. AC is Atlantic City, famous for =26pxits casinos. The town itself is basically a slum bordered by the ocean.
The time change has got me, I’m going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. I made us dippy eggs, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, and it’s running. Ralph just went off to his foot doctor appointment.
We planted a row of sunflowers this year. They were so pretty, and as fall started, the birds got the seeds, which was the idea. Now they are down to empty husks! We figure we’ll plant twice as many next year.

Good Morning, I'm not feeling very bright this morning, my head is just not quite right. Have my coffee and breakfast balls here to munch on. My head is terrible, I just can't think, so will sign off, wishing you all well, hope you all have a good day. Sorry I can't write anymore. Love to you all, BJ.

Holly, we're going to bed earlier and rising earlier, at least I am. I love the bit of alone time I have in the morning before Howard gets up. He called me Houdini the other day. I am quiet as a mouse to protect that alone time...
ML, Bill, Danny, Andrew and I were planning to go to Indpls. on Sunday for the open house my SIL's family is having in her memory. But, Bill is having hernia surgery on Wed. and they, (we all) decided that it would be in his best interest to avoid crowds and gatherings prior to the surgery. I'm okay with this because I never want to go anywhere. And really so are the rest. He has 3 hernias to be repaired and the surgery will take about 2 1/2 hours. Arthroscopy, so should be a quick recovery.
Devonne, odd that your pain is on the tops of your feet--usually it's on the bottom, isn't it?? Do you know what causes it? Always something, isn't it?
Trish, sorry your illness has hung on so long. Coughing can be so exhausting. Getting your cataracts done will be good. Your vision for your trip will be so much better. Is it going to be both eyes?
Tomorrow will be one year since Howard's stroke--Nov. 9. We're thankful every day that it wasn't worse. He has been camping in the living room with the endless news for days. I keep hoping he'll get a flurry for something, especially since the weather has been and is supposed to be mild for the next week. So far, not.
Going to carry on in my kitchen after my lunch, with you, of tomato soup. Grilled salmon for supper, unless it rains, then oven-roasted. My meals are getting plainer all the time.

The results of my eye exam yesterday were better than I expected. Cataracts are only slightly worse so surgery can wait. My prescription has changed such a small amount that new glasses can wait also. I’ve had this prescription for 3 years!
After a week of gorgeous warm weather, it’s going to get much cooler by tomorrow. Leaves are falling fast but still lots in trees.
Judy, I have also been going to bed and waking up earlier. Unfortunately that doesn’t mean I do more in the mornings.
Holly, planting sunflowers for the birds is a great idea. Maybe I’ll try that next year.
Sandra, I enjoy reading about your menus. Too bad it doesn’t inspire me to cook more. I’ve gotten in the bad habit of just eating whatever I can find without cooking. Last night, I just had a peanut butter sandwich and ice cream. At least now I have some some prepared foods in freezer after cooking for David last weekend. Tonight I’ll have some pork tenderloin.

BJ, so sorry you are having a bad day. Extra hugs!
I signed up for Walmart home delivery for groceries. They have a 50% off yearly fee for $49.99 and I couldn't pass that up. Got my first delivery today. You can do as many deliveries as you want, but they have to be at least $35. Got everything on my list and they even made a 2nd delivery for items that weren't available at the store, no charge.
I had lunch with Gary and Emily at a mexican restaurant. I didn't think I was going to be able to go due to the food delivery, but the guy pulled up right behind them, lol.
Diana, I thought about something that might give you more time on your tablet playing the games you love & watching quilt videos. Come here first every day & get this part finished, then spend the rest of the time doing what you like. If you don't come here and read every day, it can take so long to get caught up on reading all the posts.
Trish, the problem with my feet started in 2008 when we went to Yosemite. The road that took the bus to the big trees was closed because of snow. Everyone just started walking, including us. We had no clue how long this walk was and we had no backpack, no water. My feet got so hot, it melted the snow when I pulled my shoes off. We knew we wouldn't be back and didn't want to miss the big trees. I've paid for it all these years. The only swelling is around the ankles from prolonged sitting at my embroidery machine, lol.

Holly- A woman at a coffee house upstate NY gave me the head of a sunflower and told me make a whole and mash the head into the hole with my foot and then cover it with dirt? She had lots of beautiful sunflowers so I guess it must work?

We bought a new car yesterday. Ford Edge ST. It’s an interesting story. I’ll fill you in tomorrow. But right now I have to make dinner.
BTW- I actually drove all the way home alone from the dealership. are you all impressed? I was. Lol

Janet, I love my Edge!
Offline
Janet, my brother has an Edge and loves it. I considered getting one before I got my Hyundai, but the salesman wouldn’t listen to me, so I left.
As for the sunflower, I would think that would work, you just might have to thin out the seedlings.
Mary Lou, we had a variety of sunflowers- tall and short, yellow, orange, almost black. It looked so cool.
As for not having the urge to cook, I get it. When Ralph would go see the kids, I mostly got Panera Bread, chick filet, or salad works.
This afternoon we went to the library then stopped at a different diner, which was underwhelming.

WE WERE SURPRISED BY SNOW FALLING THIS MORNING. AND ITS STAYING ON THE GROUND SINCE ITS SO DARN COLD TODAY, ONLY IN THE 30SF. ONLY ABOUT AN INCH THOUGH SO NO TROUBLES.
I FIGURED OUT WHY MY PUTER WAS SLOW YESTERDAY. CABLE UPDATED OR SOMETHING DURING THE NIGHT AND FOR SOME REASON MY INTERNET WAS BOUNCING IN AND OUT THE NEXT MORNING. I FIXED THAT BY SHUTTING DOWN MY CABLE AND REBOOTING IT. WORKED A CHARM AFTER THAT.
YES, FOLKS, THE HEAD OF THE SUNFLOWER WILL PRODUCE FLOWERS WHEN BURIED IN THE SOIL. THAT'S WHERE ALL THE SEEDS ARE. YOU DON'T NEED A WHOLE HEAD. JUST A COUPLE OF SEEDS WILL WORK. AS LONG AS THEY ARE FULLY AGED.
SOMETIMES, I TOO, DON'T FEEL LIKE COOKING AT ALL AND BEING ALONE, I CAN EAT WHAT I LIKE. A PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH WILL WORK OR A CHEESE OR HAM SANDWICH AND EVEN OPENING A CAN OF SARDINES AND EATING THEM WITH SOME SALTINES WORKS OUT FOR ME. I ALWAYS HAVE A FEW CANS OF CAMPBELL'S SOUPS AROUND IN A PINCH, TOO. I GUESS THAT'S WHY I LIKE MAKNG CASSEROLES THESE DAYS. LOTS OF LEFTOVERS SO NO COOKING THE NEXT DAY.
SAN.....I AGREE WITH DEVONNE. YOU SHOULD BE COMING HERE TO THIS SITE FIRST WHEN YOU GET ON YOUR COMPUTER SO YOU CAN CHECK IN AND YOU WON'T FALL BEHIND. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW MINUTES AND DARN IT, YOU HAVE 4 HOURS OF COMPUTER TIME. SURELY WE ARE WORTH A FEW MINUTES EACH MORNING.
I LOST ONE FIFTY AT BINGO LAST NITE. IT WAS FUN AND A NICE WAY TO BREAK UP THE WEEK. WE TALKED TURKEY. SOMEONE WAS SAYING SHE PHONED ALL THE CHINESE RESTAURANTS AROUND AND NONE WERE OPEN THIS YEAR ON T-DAY BUT OPEN THE DAY BEFORE. SHE AND HER SON WANTED TO GO.
I AM LISTING THE ITEMS I WANT TO BUY BEFORE DECEMBER WHEN I PLAN TO START MY COOKIES AND CANDIES FOR GIVING. THE LIST IS GETTING QUITE LONG. I AM HAPPY TO SAY I HAVE MY HERSHEY'S COCOA NOW SO I THINK I WILL MAKE MY OLD-FASHIONED CHOCOLATE FUDGE THIS YEAR. I HAVEN'T MADE IT FOR A FEW YEARS AND MY KIDS ALWAYS LOVED IT AND MISS IT. ITS SWEET BUT SOOOO GOOD.
NOTHING ELSE TO REPORT. I LIVE A DULL LIFE. NO COOKING NEEDED TODAY SINCE I HAVE LEFTOVERS.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A WARM AND COZY LITTLE HOME.
I AM THANKFUL FOR GOOD KIDS.
I AM THANKFUL FOR TECHNOLOGY TO KEEP ME POSTED ON LIFE AROUND ME.
HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Good Morning, I am feeling very lazy this morning and can't seem to get anything done. So I will be very brief! It's only 37* outside and very cloudy. Lots of breezes up high, but nothing down low.
I really don't have anything to say this morning, took Frank his coffee, as he was going to take a shower and I'm just sitting here like a lump!! Am having my coffee and a couple of breakfast balls. Did remember to open the garage door, as the garbage man will be here eventually and wanted him to be able to put the can back in the garage. He's so nice to do that.
Tracy and her family are going camping this weekend, don't believe the weather is supposed to be very good. That's a shame! Frank is having a foot Dr. appt this afternoon at 1:15 and then he has PT at 3:30, so a busy day for him. Well, I don't have anything else to talk about, so will sign off, wishing you all a wonderful day, Love, BJ.

Sandra, I have used the a/c every day this week. Rain is on the way so it will drop the temperatures some.
Janet, congratulations on your new Ford Edge! What color did you get?
I had Sadie Grace today, but I did get a huge emb. design done. I let her help me change the bobbin and hit the start button. It was the biggest one I've done...75,000 stitches. Not so big in size, but a lot of color changes. We didn't stay in the room while it was stitching and there was only one thread break. I finished it at 5:30. I'll post a picture when it uploads. It's deers & will be for Caleb's quilt (his Dad is a deer hunter). Sadie Grace loves to clean house and reorganize home decor. I only let her do this in the living room and no drawer cleaning allowed. I watch her to see where she puts things, lol.
Greg's ex-wife (Holly) lost her grandmother today at age 94. She needed surgery after her fall, but the drs said she was too fragile for surgery. That's a pretty wonderful life to live that long.
