Sandra, they have not been to Italy yet. They’ve been to Iceland twice, France, Germany, Brussels, Holland. They’re going to Alaska again next month, Steph goes every second year for a Fire convention that she presents at. Dan goes with her, it only costs his airfare, and she uses airline miles for that.
Ralph just got back from breakfast at Tim Horton’s with his brother. He has his brother’s BIL’s laptop to look at it to see if it can be fixed.
I finished the body of Woodland last night, now working on borders, I figure 2, just single crochet.

Good Morning to everyone! It's a gloomy day, only 61*, very cool. I don't have any plans for the day, Tracy is still sleeping. Have done my exercises, so that's out of the way until evening when I have to repeat them. It has been raining overnight, that's a good thing! We need it badly.
It is lovely having Tracy here, she's such a comfort! Love her here!! I'll just play on the computer for awhile. Not much else to do. So will sign off for now, hope you all have a wonderful day, Love, BJ.

Devonne - Indeed it is! 🤣.

We had a terrible thunderstorm yesterday evening. It was blowing wind and rain and turned everything over on my patio. Holly, we will get rain and possible tornados are in the forecast, but most of this will be southeast Georgia. I'm in west Georgia, but I'm going to put things up just in case.
Diane, I didn't know Carol Duvall had passed away. I used to watch her a lot. I'm glad she lived such a long life. Will your DH be retiring next year?
Trish, I forgot to comment on Warwick's trophy. I'm sure he was as proud as a peacock! Have you tried the spinning wheel yet?
Greg took my embroidery machine to the shop this morning. He called & said there's a sign on the door "no repairs at this time." Oh, no!! I called them and told her my son was outside and what my problem was. She said it was a quick fix, to tell him to bring it in. The repairman is having surgery, so no repairs until the end of October! Greg watched him and saw the problem. He said we can fix it if this happens again. He put on a new automatic needle threader and the repair bill was $21. I was so thrilled to get it fixed. Greg is such a big help to me. I had broken a needle right before this happened, the worse needle break I've ever had in all my years sewing. Normally, it breaks off a small section at the end of the needle. This time it actually bent the needle up higher.
I'm making sloppy joes for dinner and forgot the sloppy joe mix. It's easy to do homemade as well, so I'll do that.
Holly, your pasta sounds good.
The Roomba has finished the dog room and my bedroom, so I'm headed to shampoo these two rooms. I let it do two rounds of cleaning.

Seems like a regular day here on ODT, the best kind of day in the long run. Howard mowed 1/2 the yard then something on the mower broke which he fixed. He came in for a bit and looked so tired and pale, I urged him to eat something and rest a bit. He did and now is apparently out of the mood to finish mowing. Oh well, it's the "house vs barn"-- male vs female issue and I'll keep quiet. I'm not setting the house on fire, either!
Jimmied up my hip yesterday, tramping around the medical center for my cardio appt. and a follow up appt.- making and bill-paying. I was rushing, that is, my kind of rushing and just shouldn't do that. It's a bit better today. My cardio appt. went well--no new issues, no new meds.
Since tomorrow is our big day at Shipshewana--dinner at Das Essenhaus (Amish-- am going to look up their menu, next.)
and then a show at the Blue Gate, I need to be able to walk. There will be 5 couples of us. The newlyweds asked us to ride with them at which we (I) jumped. Now, Howard doesn't have to drive home after dark. (If I'm repeating, forgive me...I don't want look back here).
You are only allowed to take a tiny purse into the show that's a maximum of 4 x 6. I was going to ML's to borrow one from her, but I found something that will work. First time I've ever been confronted with that sort of thing. Times we live in, I guess...
BJ, nice that Tracy could come again this soon. I'm sure the girls don't want you to be alone at night.
Plus you have Ellie to care for, too. Eggs and bacon, yum. The best breakfast, IMO. Could and do, mostly, eat those every day.
Just had a BLT for lunch. Only I don't usually bother with the L. Will either grill chicken drumsticks for supper or try a Greek chicken dish I found on line. BTW, the "wonderful" crockpot meatloaf. using Stove Top was a flop. I was so disappointed. Enough so, that I threw ALL the remainder out. Wonder what makes me think the Greek chicken will be any better? Maybe because it's a one-pot with rice and broth and lemon. Again...we'll see...
QB, how wonder for Matt and Daphne. As you know, Andrew spent a semester in Italy and will forever favor it. He still mostly cooks Italian. Matt spent a few unhappy years. I'm so glad he's content and living his life again. Of course, so are you. (glad of that)
The kids took two vehicles and as many of Andrew's belongings to his new apt., yesterday in Carmel, IN that they could fit. I've seen pics of his apt. and it looks very nice. I haven't talked yet with ML about their day. She did text that his neighborhood is lovely, with shops and restaurants and pots of flowers, etc. Just what the House Hunters always wish for, ie, "near shops and restaurants".
I need to go. Lots to do. Lazy...oh yes, resting my hip, today. That's my excuse.

Greg said it was really dark at his house. I had just gone outside and moved my rug (runner) onto the top of the grill to dry. Had to move it again and a few other things. Not as bad as the storm last night. Forgot to move my flower pot and it fell again, this time it broke the solar lights I had in the pot.
Judy, sometimes we have to rest our hips, our knees and our backs as we age. Mine is mostly my back. I have trouble stepping up onto curbs because of my left knee. No trouble getting down.
My sloppy joes were very good. I didn't use any bread and still great. This time I put peppers in them...yellow, green and orange. I skipped the garlic powder, but added onions. I still had heartburn. Don't know if it was the peppers or the onions.
I'm sure all this heavy rain is from the hurricane. Those poor people who didn't evacuate in time and now they're saying it's hard to find gas.
eta: Editing my photos so thought I would post a picture of my GS, Logan, and his girlfriend, Darby. He moved in with her last November. They just got back from vacation in Panama City. Perfect timing ahead of the hurricane! I know all I talk about is Carter, but it's because I see him a lot more.

Devonne, did you use any tomatoes or tomato sauce in your sloppy joes? That would give me heartburn.
Offline
MARYLOU......YES, I HEARD THAT. MANY OLDER FOLKS CAN'T HANDLE TOMATOES ANYMORE. THEY GET HEARTBURN.
DIANE.......I REMEMBER CAROL DUVALL WITH FONDNESS. SHE LIVED A FULL LIFE.
DEVONNE......GREAT LUCK THAT GREG COULD GET YOUR MACHINE FIXED AND WATCHED THE PROCESS SO HE CAN FIX YOUR THREADER IN FUTURE. AND CHEAP TOO.
GREAT PICTURE OF LOGAN AND HIS GIRLFRIEND. THEY ARE LOOKING MIGHTY HAPPY.
HOPE YOU MISSED THE WORST OF THE WEATHER LAST NITE. AND THE COMING STORM AS WELL. TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS YOU NEED.
LINDA......SORRY YOU HAVE TO PLAY WATCHDOG OVER DARRELL. HE NEEDS TO STAY OFF THE EMAILS, THAT'S FOR SURE.
JUDY........A BLT WITHOUT THE L. I THINK I WILL TRY THAT IN FUTURE. SOMETIMES I JUST DO NOT HAVE ANY LETTUCE ON HAND AND WANT A BLT. SOUNDS GOOD.
YOU ARE RIGHT, MOST YOUNG PEOPLE LOOKING FOR APTS WANT A PLACE NEAR SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND BARS. ANDREW SOUNDS LIKE HE GOT LUCKY WITH HIS NEW ABODE. HOPE HE SETTLES IN NICELY AND LOVES IT.
BJ.......SOUNDS LIKE YOUR DARLING IS MAKING INROADS TOWARD RECOVERY. THUMBS UP.
I ROASTED MORE TOMATOES YESTERDAY AND WILL DO MORE TODAY. I WANT TO TRY ALSO ROASTING CHERRY TOMATOES TO MAKE PIZZA SAUCE. I HAVE A RECIPE FROM A HOMESTEADER ONLINE THAT IS VERY GOOD ABOUT SAVING FOODS. I WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW THAT WORKS OUT.
ITS A DARK AND RAINY DAY HERE IN GOOD OLE MAINE TODAY. WE SHOULD HAVE GREAT SUNNY WEATHER FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I WILL HARVEST MORE TOMATOES TOMORROW.
BE SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning to everyone! It is only 60* this morning and very still. I woke up really early this morning, so just finally got up around 6, got dressed, did my exercises. Tracy is up and getting ready, she wants to be at hospital by 8 for something to do with Frank. She mentioned that he was getting bored with being in hospital and would love to come home.
She just came by and read what I wrote and told me he has post-op appt. this morning, X-rays, etc. They have to take a bus, so will be interesting! Lot of excitement around here all the time!!
Well, I don't have anything else to say this morning, so will just sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

We got some hard, cold rain this morning, started when I was having routine labs done. We sat in the diner afterwards and watched the rain while we had breakfast.
Janet, Heather and family are at Lake George now, they go almost every August. They take their boat, it has to be inspected before they can put it in the water. Julie has a favorite restaurant that they always to to.
I did a blog post with pix of the finished Woodland Afghan.
Ralph’s brother and wife booked a cruise to Greenland next August, on Carnival, round trip out of Baltimore. Maybe 15 days? I don’t have the urge to cruise yet.

I JUST MADE A REPLACEMENT ORDER WITH TARGET. I GOT A MESSAGE THAT MY PACKAGE ARRIVED AT 9:55 THIS MORNING. I CHECKED THE LOBBY, OUTDOORS, AND EVEN THE HALLWAY TO SEE IF IT WAS ANYWHERE. I WAITED TIL NOONTIME AND RECHEKED ALL THOSE PLACES AGAIN. NOPE. SO I EMAILED TARGET. IT WAS SOOOO EASY TO DO. MY REPLACEMENT ORDER IS ALREADY IN THE WORKS. ITS AMAZING.
IF THE ORDER SHOWS UP IN THE MEANTIME, I WILL PAY THEM FOR THE REPLACEMENTS. ITS ONLY FAIR.

I had my 3rd mammogram today. I had to stay until the doctor looked at them to see if he wanted me to have an ultrasound. I didn't need the ultrasound and go see him Sept. 14. He didn't see any difference except the hematoma was resolving. I had a hematoma when I had the biopsy back in May. It looks like I'll need to have a mammogram every 6 months. I'll know more on 9/14.
Sandra, I did get my tomato plants out too late. I'll do better next year. I wish Logan would do something different with his hair. Just drives me crazy, but it seems to be the "in" thing.
Marylou, I did use ketchup. I never thought that could be the culprit.
Linda, we all had to keep a watchful eye out when Billy got on the internet. He posted things on Facebook and our sons would be calling me, "Mom, did you see what Dad put on FB?" It was a never ending issue and we all kept tabs on him. He would get mad because I had to get him to remove his comment or post or I was going to remove it. My heart goes out to you.
It's been overcast all day, some really dark clouds...just got a message heavy rain is in my area, but the sun is shining and no rain yet.
Judy, sorry your recipe didn't turn out good for you.
I'm off to rest and watch a little tv.

Afternoon y'all!
QB the earliest we can plant is April 15. That is about when we put ours out. We are finally getting tomatoes that are good!
Trish! I would love some rest!
Busy! Me! Ya think!
Weekend before last we had 2 trees cut! The neighbors on the same side also had 2 cut! They were bigger than the Leyland Cypress we had cut! Amazing the amount of sunlight we have in the back yard. We are getting 2 dead trees cut and going to add a third Leyland. It's almost dead, may as well get it done while they are here! Not sure when he will come!
Luke is officially a college graduate!
Sara is doing fine. Working on her research for her thesis!
Alex is Alex. No change.
Mom is feisty! The PT lady quit! She can't work with mom since she refuses to do anything asked of her! She has her new glasses and can see better. Keeps asking what is wrong with her toenails! I answer, and get asked again the next night! So I know she can finally see stuff!
Me I am non-stop. Between the Lake, mom, this house, her house, the lawyer for probate.....my head is spinning! I think we may close next week! I am not holding my breath! I have been fooled many times! The realtor, got paperwork from my lawyer and carried it to the county seat for the lake house, that is a big step forward.
I have done some hand sewing. Went to see my MIL, and brought it with me. I added a flower, surrounded it with background and added another flower. Prepping the background flower for that flower.
Since the junk removal at the lake my hands have been painful. also the back of one ankle. Not sure what I did. I worked so hard, I think if I broke something it would not have been noticed that day! The discomfort is not getting better. Some days worse than others. I need my hands I use them daily! Shocker, I know! I'm close to making an appointment with my hand specialist! I will decide as soon as I close on the lake!
Nothing else exciting!
Later my Friends!

DEVONNE.....GOOD NEWS ON THE MAMMO. ITS ALWAYS BEST TO DO MORE FOLLOW-UPS.
AS FOR GRANDSON'S HAIR, THEY HAVE ALL KINDS OF DIFFERENT STYLES THESE DAYS. I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT MOST OF THEM FOR MEN I DO NOT CARE FOR. I AM JUST TOO OLD-FASHIONED.
WELL, MY PACKAGE WAS DELIVERED TO A NEIGHBOR WHO PHONED ME LATER AND TOLD ME SHE HAD IT. WELL, I TRIED MY DARNDEST TO CANCEL THE REPLACMENT ORDER. COULD NOT DO THAT ONLINE SO SPOKE TO AN ACTUAL HUMAN. SHE SAID SHE THOUGHT IT WAS TOO LATE TO STOP BUT SHE WOULD MAKE A NOTE THAT I TRIED TO STOP IT. I TOLD HER I WANTED TO PAY FOR IT THEN AND SHE SAID I COULDN'T SINCE IT IS A 'FREE' ORDER. I ASKED ABOUT RETURNS AND SHE SAID TO JUST KEEP IT. IT SHOULD BE ON ITS WAY. SO I MAY GET A FREEBIE IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. I FEEL SO BADLY ABOUT THAT. I GUESS THE NEXT TIME I WILL NOT BE SO QUICK TO CALL FOR REPLACEMENTS IN CASE ITS GONE ASTRAY AND SHOWS UP LATER. MY EXCITEMENT FOR THE DAY.
I PLAYED BINGO AND WON $5.50 LAST NITE. THAT'S A REALLY GOOD NITE FOR BINGO.
TODAY I AM DEFROSTING SOME CHICKEN BREAST TO MAKE A POT OF CHICKEN RICE SOUP. I CAN HANDLE THAT PRETTY WELL TO EAT.
SO FAR I HAVE LOST 10 LBS BUT CERTAINLY NOT THE WAY I WANTED.
STRANGLEY ENOUGH, I HAVE NOT FELT HUNGRY. USUALLY WHEN I TRY TO CUT BACK I FEEL HUNGRY AND GET THAT EMPTY FEELING IN MY GUT AND PANGS THAT TELL ME I WANT FOOD. NONE DURING THIS TIME AT ALL. I FEEL FULL JUST ABOUT ALL THE TIME. IT MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH OTHER NATURE KNOWING SHE HAS TO LOOK OUT FOR ME AND MAKE THINGS AS EASY AS POSSIBLE. THUS I AM TRYING TO KEEP THIS TOOTH FROM FALLING OUT SO I CAN LOSE MORE WEIGHT.
I AM WATCHING MY INTAKES. TRYING TO BE SURE TO GET PROTEIN AS WELL AS VEGGIES AND FRUITS. I FIND THAT POACHED EGGS ON TOAST CUT UP PRETTY SMALL GOES DOWN WELL. SO DOES MY CHICKEN SOUP. THIS TIME I WILL CUT UP THE CHICKEN REALLY SMALL.
I ROASTED MY CHERRY TOMS YESTERDAY TO MAKE PIZZA SAUCE. IT LOOKS GOOD BUT IT WOULD LOOK BETTER AND SMOOTHER IF I HAD A BLENDER. SINCE I DIDN'T I USED AN ELECTRIC HAND MIXER. IT DID A FAIR JOB. I GUESS I SHOULD BUY MYSELF A BLENDER OR MAYBE PUT THAT ON MY XMAS LIST FOR MY SON TO GET. HE ALWAYS WANTS TO GET ME SOMETHING I CAN USE.
WE GOT LOTS OF RAIN YESTERDAY. TODAY I WILL HARVEST WHATEVER ELSE I CAN FROM THE GARDEN TOMS AND USE THE RIPE ONES TO ROAST THIS AFTERNOON. I STILL HAVE SOME ON THE COUNTER I NEED TO USE UP.
ITS A LOVELY DAY HERE TODAY. STAY WELL. HUGS. QB S

Good Morning, it is beautiful outside, the sun is shining, there is a very light breeze up high, not a breath of air moving outside. Tracy put the garbage outside last night, so it will be picked up this morning. I'm dressed and Tracy just got up and is making us some eggs.
I need to run as breakfast is about ready and I don't want to be late, sure hope everyone is doing well. Hi to everyone and take care, BJ.

Sandra, check out immersion blenders!
Offline
Good morning, friends! I slept in late this morning. Trying to decide what I want for breakfast, but now it's lunch time, lol.
Theresa, congratulations to Luke on graduating! Is Alex still living at home? I'm glad you and Todd are finally able to get some things done at home. We had a lot of Leyland Cypresses at the end of our property for privacy. Billy planted them after someone built a house behind our property. Only one of them died.
Emily started a part time job today working at Hobby Lobby "in the vault." She will be doing bookkeeping. This will be good for her to get out of the RV. Hannah doesn't want her to go back to work at all. She is willing to take care of both of them. That's a lot on her plate. They are planning on building a house and all of them living together.
Sandra, glad you won a little money. That tooth must really be hurting you to lose 10 lbs. It's a shame you have to wait two more weeks.
I had one of those immersion blenders and only used it a few times. They don't take up much storage and are easy to clean. My blender is part of my Ninja system with a food processor. I don't use a blender that much. I would like to have one of the Magic Bullet blenders for smoothies.
Offline
Afternoon y'all!
DS yes Alex is still living at home!
QB I love my Oster blender. I have one that just does smoothies, it runs about $20-30. I have also the real Blender, no clue what it runs. It does not take up much space. It's my second one, I literally wore the first one out. I use it mainly in the fall when I am doing pumpkin. Great to puree! Occasionally I use it to crush ice or something else. I do have an immersion blender also. I don't use it much. I use the whisk attachment for my waffle and pancake mix! Hope that helped!
Descent day. Mom is mad at me for leaving to go walk and not spending the day with her. Only so much playing on my phone I can do. When I get to her apartment, I make her either a coke or a Fresca, set out some candy and a Debbie cake, I also set out some peeled and separated mandarin oranges. She is good snack wise till I get there in the evening. She is not understanding that I am not moving into the building just to be with her. I am there more than most of the other peoples family members. Not sure what to do about it. She may just have to deal! I can only do so much!
My day was visiting mom, to the veggie stand near her and bought squash. To the park, home, put out the pecan shells, I put them in chipmunk holes!
I'm ready to crack more pecans. These are from mom's yard. The trees my DSis told me were too diseased to produce pecans! Not sure what she was thinking. The pecans are awesome! Some have gone bad from being on the ground so long, still others are perfect! Figured a small tub at a time and I will get them cracked, and frozen! I see lots of pecan based desserts in my future!
For supper we are having, Omaha steak gourmet franks, and fried squash. My MIL bought us a bunch of stuff from them and when we went to see her she sent a bunch more home with us! I'm going to start running out of freezer at this rate! LOL!
Need to go get the squash ready! It does take a bit of time to cook, so I need to get prep underway!
Later my Friends!

I went to Walmart for my prescriptions and ran into G&E. He wasn't feeling well, so she got him a scooter. When I checked out, he was in the parking lot throwing up. I stayed with him until she came out. E said "you never know when this is going to hit him" One of his many meds is causing this. He has a doctor's appt. on 9/14, so hopefully this can get resolved. I offered him water, but he didn't want it.
On a better note, I found some "new to me" unsweetened coffee creamer at Walmart I'm going to try. It's made by Nut Pods and comes in different flavors. I got the caramel. It has no carbs and 10 calories per TB. I cannot drink black coffee.
Off to do the software update on my laptop!
