Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

I slept in late....very late. Someone woke me up ringing my doorbell. Thank goodness I can see who it is from the doorbell camera. Amazes me how technology is these days. It was a family, probably promoting their church.

Gary actually texted and invited me to lunch. I'm surprised. I'm going to meet him at Zaxbys.

Judy, that is a good way to describe Hannah, lol. Don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed. I loved it!

Holly, that is weird getting a check after all these years.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

I WENT DOWN FOR MY MAIL AND TO MY GARDEN.  I PULLED OUT TALL GRASSES GROWING WHERE I DID NOT PUT STRAW......THE RADISH ROWS.  THE TOMATOES ARE GROWING WELL.  I FINALLY HAVE SOME LITTLE FRUITS STARTING.  I HAVE ONE PEPPER SO FAR ON MY PEPPER PLANTS BUT SADLY, THEY ARE GETTING SHADED OUT BY MY GREAT TOMATO PLANTS.  I WON'T GET MANY PEPPERS, THAT'S FOR SURE. WELL, ITS TOMATOES I WANT MOST ANYWAY.   I WANT TO MAKE SOME PIZZA SAUCE FROM THE CHERRY TOMATOES IF I GET ENOUGH.  I GOT A GREAT RECIPE ONLINE.  JUST ROAST, BLEND, AND FREEZE.

I HAVE TO FINISH UP SOME GROUND BEEF FOR LUNCH.  ENOUGH FOR ONE BURGER AND SOME SALAD WITH THAT.  THEN FOR SUPPER THE LAST COUPLE OF SLICES OF PIZZA I HAVE LEFT.  I REALLY HATE TO HAVE LEFTOVERS GO BAD.  I HAVE RECORDED TOO MANY MOVIES IN THE LAST 2 DAYS SO HAVE TO GET SOME OF THOSE WATCHED AND DELETED.  ONE IS ABOUT CINDY BUSBY SHOWING HER CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL AT A SHOW AND THEN TAKING ON THE HANDLING OF A FRIEND'S TERRIER, I THINK.  LOVE INTEREST OF COURSE.  BUT I LOVE MOVIES ABOUT ANIMALS.  CINDY STARTED OUT IN THE SERIES HEARTLAND SOME YEARS AGO.

WISHING YOU ALL A NICE DAY.  WE ARE POSSIBLY GOING TO HAVE T-SHOWERS LATER TODAY SO I DID NOT WATER MY GARDEN.  THEN MORE TOMORROW.  THE RAIN JUST WON'T GO AWAY BUT ITS NOT SO MUCH WE HAVE FLOODING, THANK GOODNESS.  POOR VERMONT AND PARTS OF NY AND NH GOT THE WORST OF IT.  IT SEEMED TO STOP AT CONWAY NH WHICH BORDERS MAINE ABOUT 40 OR SO MILES FROM ME.

HUGS TO ALL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

Good Morning to everyone!!  It is sunny and still this morning, now 62* at 8:40am.  Sharon is coming this morning and will do some tidying.  She called yesterday and wanted to know if she could bring her blanket to wash, her washer is too small, told her sure.  No problem.

Well, we're finally getting a bit of a breeze, hope it stays, we're supposed to be very hot today and the next couple of days, then will cool off a bit for a couple of days, not looking forward to the heat.  Wow! the breeze really picked up, seems real nice outside.  I really enjoy reading what everyone is doing, seems nice to hear.  I, on the other hand, do nothing and have a hard time writing, when I don't really have anything to write about!

I'm a lazy bum, getting better though.  My health care workers are done coming, so I'm definitely getting better.  Hard to believe I'm in my middle 80's!  I'm watching less TV, am sitting at the computer playing games, so at least that's something.

There is a mention of some rain on TV, but they're pretty sure that it will be in the Seattle area and may not come this far north.  Too bad, we sure could use some, everything is so dry and we have to water every day.  The grass is all brown.

Well, I can't think of anything else to say so will sign off, hoping everyone is doing well and keeping busy, sending love and best wishes to all, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

You won't believe what I did! I left a package of ground beef in my car I got at Aldi's on Tuesday. They don't give you bags, so I had everything in an open cardboard box. It fell out and I didn't see it. Nothing got on the mat in the trunk, but my car sure was stinking! I ditched it in the trash can at Zaxbys and went to the restroom. When I came out, a guy was emptying the trashcan, so it worked out perfect, lol!

I enjoyed my lunch with Gary. Emily's mom had knee replacement surgery on Tuesday so she is staying there to help her mom. Gary said Hannah doesn't want to build a house until she graduates from pharmacy school. She suggested they buy a large mobile home and they all live together. Next year she wants to put in a pool and a large deck. She is all over the place with her ideas, lol.

I am baking pork chops for dinner and will have green beans with them. Sandra, you wouldn't like my mashed potatoes either. I prefer using a mixer...easier on your hands if you have arthritis. Mine are smooth and buttery. I haven't fixed potatoes in over a year though. I could eat them every day, lol!

I am headed back to do more embroidery.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

Another day in the 90’s, chance of thunderstorms tonight. We went to a new to us place for breakfast called the Driftaway Cafe. We had breakfast sandwiches. It’s all outside seating on a covered porch. It shares the building with the Creampuffery, so we got mini cream puffs and a mini carrot cake to bring home.

John had PT/OT for 4 hours yesterday, he’s happy and tired.

Dinner might be leftovers.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT PROMISED RAIN BUT NOW ITS LATER TONITE.  MY GARDEN WILL DO FINE TIL THEN I'M SURE.
MY INTERNET FAILED IN MY PUTER THIS MORNING SO I HAD TO REBOOT MY WHOLE CABLE SYSTEM AT THE MODEM.  I'M GLAD I NOW KNOW ALL ITS QUIRKS AND HOW TO FIX THEM INSTEAD OF HAVING TO PULL OUT MY HAIR WORRYING.

NOTHING TO REPORT TODAY.  I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO COOK.  ALL MY LEFTOVERS ARE DONE.  I HAVE A CHICKEN BREAST DEFROSTED. I MAY JUST MAKE SOME CHICKEN IN THE TOASTER OVEN FOR SUPPER AND MAYBE TRY THE McCAIN'S QUICK COOK FROZEN FRIES MY SON BROUGHT ME HOME LAST TIME.

LINDA........GOOD TO SEE YOU POSTING.  I HOPE YOUR SON GETS ALL HE NEEDS FOR HIS MOVE.

DEVONNE.......ITS A SHAME YOU LOST THAT MEAT TO HEAT IN YOUR CAR.  AS FOR THE SMELL, DON'T FORGET CRUMPLED UP NEWPAPERS TOSSED ABOUT AND A BOWL OF VINEGAR IN THE CORNER WILL HELP.

TEMPS TODAY MID 80S BUT FEELS WARMER WITH THE HUMIDITY.  THAT ALWAYS GETS YOU IN THE END.

BE SAFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

BJ, it sounds like you are having an off day. Just rest today...hugs!

Linda, I hope you found some nice things for your GS's new place. He must be so excited!!

Sandra, it was only one lb. of beef and Aldi had it on sale for $3.99 a lb....grass fed too! I pay $6.28 for a lb. at Walmart. Glad it was a small package. The smell has gone.

Holly, that's one thing I like about Tucson. There are so many different eating places and you don't have to get on the interstate to go there.

I've been really busy doing embroidery. Still a few puckers, but not so bad.

Greg and Carter are here and we fixed taco burgers on the grill. We got the recipe from Taste of Home. Really good! Carter said more taco seasoning the next time.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 9 ~ SAT JULY 15

Sounds like you all still have some pretty hot weather, although some are getting some rain, Cold and dreary here today, and it has been a couple of quite warm days before that, the a/c is on, Pete isn't well, he has isolated in his room, he doesn't want to give us any bug before we fly on wednesday.

SANDRA a burger sounds good, what about some roast chicken with some nice roast potatoes, my mash is like yours - when I make it, I don't do it often.

DEVONNE not great about the smell, I think Bi-carb soda is you sprinkle it in will get rid of smells, you do need to vacuum it up though. Hopefully  the smell is gone for good LOL

HOLLY good news about John, is he walking a few steps? I hope he can recover with the new PT program

INDY we had more of a 'guys' diner last night - late night. You would have disliked it, the food was really good, they also supplied wine beer and soft drinks. They had a couple of footballers speak - they were awful -- questionable content, and it wasn't for a mixed audience, was supposed to be a formal dinner celebrating 60th birthday of the bowling club. I was on a table with 6 others - all men, their wives couldn't make it for various reasons, they are all very nice though, I have met most of them before, we were in Queensland together a few weeks back.

STRINGS good to hear you are getting help! I hope your darling is OK, so hard to see him failing like that ((((hugs))))

I have done a load of washing, went out and got a couple new sweaters to take away, mine looked a bit tatty LOL

I need to get organised, the Mr has an appointment with another eye specialist in the morning for a 2nd opinion, I was planning on getting ahead with the housework, but I'll need to take him, he can't drive after it.
He's just been searching the best way/time for us to get to the airport, I want to get a train in, easy EXCEPT for getting to the station LOL, it's going to be early, and both Megan & Pete will already be at work. We can get a local bus, just means walking a bit to the stop, lugging bags, but we should be able to do it, I wanted to get a taxi, but he thinks they will take too long to get here.
