ITALIAN RED WINE COOKIES
(makes about 3 dozen)
No mixers needed. Just a wooden spoon.
INGREDIENTS:
3 1/2 to 4 Cups All Purpose Flour
6 oz. Red Wine. Note: If you like the taste of the wine, they are fine for cookies.
6 oz. White Granulated Sugar
6 oz. Vegetable Oil
2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Pinch of Salt
1 Cup of Walnuts, Pounded/Crushed after measuring.
Lots of Cinnamon Sugar Mixture, or make your own.
1. In large bowl add Wine, Sugar, Oil (I use vegetable), Baking Powder, Vanilla and a pinch of Salt.
Note: If you want pictures, go to my quiltladysgarden blog listed at the end of all my posts, including this one. Its posted there step-by-step on 12/22/17.
The pictures can be more helpful.
2. Mix it all well with a wooden spoon.
3. Add the Flour. Start with 3 Cups and add more as needed by feel. The dough should be wet.
4. Add your crushed walnuts (or desired nuts) and mix together til combined.
Form into 1 1/4- to 1 1/2-inch round balls. Roll them in Cinnamon Sugar in a small bowl.
Place on parchment-papered cookie sheet. Bake at 350*F for 10-12 minutes.
This is what I mean by wet dough.
