BREAK FOUR PIECES OF BREAD (ANY KIND),PLACE IN A GREASED 9 x 13 INCH BAKING DISH. BROWN 1 POUND BULK OF LINK SAUSAGE; DRAIN. CUT LINKS INTO SLICES. SPOON SAUSAGE OVER BREAD. SPRINKLIE WITH 1 CUP SHREDDED, SHARP CHEESE. BEAT 6 EGGS, 2 CUPS MILK, 1 tsp. DRY MUSTARD (OPTIONAL), 1 . 1 tsp. SALT AND DSAH OF PEPPER. POUR OVER MIXTURE IN BAKING DISH/ BAKE AT 350 DEGREES FOR 25-30 MINUTES. MAKES 6 TO 8 SERVINGS. SERVE WITH TOAST AND APPLESAUCE.
I DON'T ADD THAT MUCH SALT. I ADD A LITTLE MORE CHEESE. IT IS MUCH BETTER IF YOU CAN MAKE THE THE NIGHT BEFORE, COVER AND REFERATE. IF NOT, LET IT SET FOR THE BREAD TO ABSORB THE MILK AND EGG MIXTURE. IF COLD. I LET SET OUT A BIT BEFORE BAKING OR BAKE A LITTLE LONGER. I CHECK WITH THE KNIFE INSERTED IN CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN TO TEST FOR DONENESS.

FROM THE KITCHEN OF LINDA
QUILTBEA ADDS: I DO NOT HAVE DRY MUSTARD SO USED 1 TEAS. OREGANO AS IN THE ORIGINAL EGG BITES RECIPE.
ALSO, I CUT MINE INTO 12 PIECES.
MINE AFTER 2 DAYS. THEY ARE ABOUT 3 BY 3 INCHES.

I have not used link sausage in mine. May try it sometime. I prefer mild sausage, but that is just me. Great to have when you have overnight guests. Worked well when d's and dil would be here at Easter. Some could eat and some others could be getting ready. Only one shower. Leftovers reheat well. ENJOY!
THANKS SANDRA!
