Have a great Sunday, everyone! Gracie got me up early. I'm almost finished putting the puzzle table together. Have to figure out the tilting part & it's finished.
The guy I hired to cut down my bushes didn't show up. I didn't feel good about it when I asked what time he wanted to come and he said I'll be over shortly. No text he couldn't make it, nothing. I just find that so rude.

Devonne- that’s not unusual . Contractors around here are awful. That’s why DH does as much as he can.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. IRAQUI HEAD SEEKS ARMS.
2. SALESMAN SAYS HE LEFT 4 LARGE RINGS IN MALDEN BATHTUB.
ITS 49 HERE RIGHT NOW AND WE AWAIT THE BIG STORM. I JUST HOPE WE DON'T LOSE POWER.
BJ.....I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD DAY.
CAROL....WHERE ARE THE PICTURES? I AWAIT THE LOVELY QUILTS, BEING AN ARMCHAIR TRAVELER.
DEVONNE.....SORRY THAT GUY LET YOU DOWN. I HOPE THE NEXT ONE DOES BETTER IF YOU GO THAT ROUTE.
LINDA.....NICE TO SEE YOU POSTING.
TRISH......YOU ARE ALWAYS SO BUSY. WE ARE GOING INTO WINTER AND YOU INTO SUMMER. I ALWAYS FIND THAT SO UNUSUAL.
HOLLY......YOU DO GOOD WORK. I LOVE THE COLOR BLUE. YOU ARE ALWAYS SO BUSY WITH YOUR SEWING.
TODAY I HOPE TO SEW A BIT MORE. I WORKED ON CASPER YESTERDAY. GOT HIM SATIN-STITCHED IN PLACE AND THEN ADDED A WHITE MOON WITH A DIFFERENT WHITE FABRIC. NOW I WILL BE ADDING BLACK HOUSETOPS OVER WHICH CASPER IS FLYING. THAT WILL BE THE FULL SCENE.
ITS MY DAY OF REST SO YOU KNOW I WON'T BE TIRING MYSELF OUT CLEANING. OF COURSE, I RARELY DO THAT ANY DAY.
BUT I HAVE TO COOK SOMETHING DIFFERENT TODAY. LAST NITE MY NEIGHBOR NAN BROUGHT ME SOME CANTALOUPE SLICES AND SOME GRAPES SO I WILL SHARE MY POTATO PANCAKES WITH HER AND SOUR CREAM. SHE SAYS SHE'S A FAN. SHE DOESN'T COOK FROM SCRATCH THESE DAYS BUT ALWAYS BRINGS ME SOMETHING AFTER I SEND HER A MEAL. SINCE SHE KNOWS I AM WATCHING THE SWEETS, SHE IS BRINGING ME FRESH FRUIT WHICH I CAN ALWAYS FIND A SPOT FOR.
THAT'S IT FROM ME LADIES. STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S

It’s cloudy and feels like rain, but it hasn’t started here yet. It’s pouring at Heather’s, but she’s 30 miles closer to the coast.
I woke up at 7, thought of the things to get done, so got up. Tidied the kitchen, since the house cleaner is coming tomorrow. Then took a nap!
Had lunch at Applebee’s with F and C, came home and finished the green strip. Tomorrow will be yellow. Still not making a dent in the scraps!
I’ve been listening to the new Taylor Swift album every day, I really like it.
Nothing else new. Dinner will be lunch leftovers.

SORRY I just locked last weeks thread, we had some pretty wild weather yesterday, I was at sewing, and we could hear the wind, WOW being in it outside was something else!!! When I opened my car door it almost blew it off, of course there were internet issues, as well.
I had left my glasses at my brothers house, I realised they might be there just as SIL messaged me to ask. So I had to drive in the wind to get them, NOT fun, the car was blowing sideways!
She met me at the door and passed them through a small opening, I guess she didn't want me to come in, I understand he might have been resting, but the whole encounter felt awkward.
Then DEAN was at Bondi Beach with his friends, Megan on her way back from Melbourne, and I messaged Dean to let him know I was picking him up from the Metro. Their flight was uncomfortable, pretty rocky, she was glad to be home.
The Mr was at bowls all day, he said playing in the wind was pretty bad, and he had to be there in the afternoon as well, so we were all tired last night
SANDRA we had potato pancakes on Friday night at the club, they are doing German themed food for October, served them with sour cream and apple sauce, the Mr loved them, I know they weren't the REAL ones, seemed like sliced potato with a light batter. I'll have to make him the 'good' ones.
DEVONNE people here are the same, PLUS we get a lot of scammers, especially when things are offered free on our neighbourhood site, often you know they are just getting them to sell. Hope you can get some help. Maybe try to find a "hire a hubby" in your area?? we have them here. They do all kinds of oddjobs, often retired - but have the skills to do the odd jobs.
Good luck with the puzzle table, I have been looking at them too, I'll stick with the end of the dining table. at least I finish the puzzle pretty quickly to clear the space LOL
I have to get moving, enjoy putting those greens together HOLLY I did a lot of English Paper piecing yesterday, not by choice, I hadn't cut the fabric I needed for the blocks LOL I thought I had it all cut already and in the plastic sleeves LOL. I really need to get that done tomorrow, plus I have binding to make and sew on. AND the neck coolers I have cut out.
BUT today is cleaning day, and it's messy, so I'll get moving on it, at least there is no wind.

Holly, I really like the wall hanging photo you posted on your blog. The vivid colors I think really made it pop. I made a quilt similar to that with rows of scraps in the colors of the rainbow plus a pink because I made it for Amelia and she had to have pink on it. I put the pink after the green row and before the blue and it worked out fine.
Devonne, sorry your yard guy did not show up, how rude of him. It is truly difficult to find somebody to do work around the house when needed. Dean is a "handyman" to three widows in our neighborhood plus he goes across town to our daughter in law's parents and helps them. Her dad is 82 and not doing well at all, so they call Dean. He is a keeper for sure.
It is cool with gray skies but we have not had any rain. None in the forecast all week, so not sure why it is so overcast today.
I made some BBQ chicken tender strips and we will have a salad with it for supper.
I have my jigsaw puzzle set up in my office on a folding table and it works out fine for me. It is right under a large window, so I get lots of light. I just started a new 500 piece one.

Dinner tonight Mac and cheese, veggies, salad. Simple- I’ve gotten do lazy. I really need to vacuum, esp the stairs. There are two sets of 16 steps each between the 2 levels, so 4 staircases. What a pain. Not carpeted.
