Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Janet, north Jersey had some terrible flooding last night! Cars in water over their hoods! We got a little rain, but that was all.

I started PT today for the weakness in my legs. The right is definitely weaker than the left. I have exercises to do at home, and I go back on Tuesdays and Fridays. From there we went to First Watch for lunch, then to a store that sells fresh and frozen pasta. Now we’re in for the day. It’s 85 with a humidity of about a thousand percent.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Holly, your area must have gotten the humidity that we had yesterday.  Awful stuff.  Today is warm (87 degrees) but not real humid, so I ahve had the dog outside for a while.  Then I had three little deer go into my back woods and the dog wanted to see what they were doing.  He never chases them, just puts his nose to the ground and trails wherever they may have roamed.  They, of course, darted away and then he wanted to follow.  He is a good boy and came right back.

So awful with all the floods and wildfires in the country right now.

I was lazy today and have accomplished nothing.  I made extra chicken yesterday, so dinner is done.  Dean went down to Columbus for Andrew's 14th birthday yesterday and he is bringing Abby back with him.  She has a college visit on Thursday at Kent State.  Unfortunately her new car got hit in the roadway in front of their house.  She always parks in the drive, but Anthony was doing some digging around a sewer line, so she parked out front of the house.  The neighbor back out of her drive and right into Abby's car.  Abby is so upset.  Estimate to repair is over $6000, so I hope the neighbor has insurance.

Wishing you all a good day.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Trish, not upset at all; in fact, I have thought the same thing. If she lives another year, I would be surprised. I did give her a little of my scrambled egg this morning, but she didn't want it.

Janet, the vet did mention something about IV fluids but somehow that got dropped when we were discussing her prescription. I have to go by there tomorrow to pick up another prescription, so will ask about that.

I don't know what I would do without Greg. He works in IT and does all of that for me. He set up my new TV, ordered the Apple TV box, set up the sound speakers and the sound bar and told me a lot about the apps.

Judy, I do find the CRV is easier to get in than my Highlander.

I ordered a really nice Husky tool box with wheels for the garage. I looked on Amazon for 2 days and there were so many bad reviews. I wanted to get a good one I can leave for Carter, so I ordered it from Home Depot. Will pick it up Thursday. Logan will get my Husky sewing table that also was expensive (not really a "sewing table", but that's my usage of it, lol). He just bought a nice tool box.

It's 93 right now, so I'm staying in. I haven't been anywhere since Saturday. I was headed to Walmart, but haven't made it yet, lol.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

We had a real gull washer here a little bit ago. Thunder. Power flickered once. My sis was downtown about midday. Heavy rain where she was, but not hete. Rained hard for a pretty long spell.

A past topic. I use dry mustard in macaroni and cheese, egg bites and breakfast casserole.

It's and Ps..............

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Good Morning to everyone!!  Don't know why my car is out of the garage!  Don't know much of anything this morning!!  It is a lovely car with very few miles on it.  It has been in the garage for a long time.  Just one of those things I know nothing about!

Well, I know nothing this morning, so will sign off and go watch TV for awhile.   Hope you all have a wonderful day, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPER.....
I WAS THROWN FROM MY CAR AS IT LEFT THE ROAD.  I WAS LATER FOUND IN A DITCH BY SOME STRAY COWS.

SUNNY DAY AND SHOULD HIT 90 LATER.  YIKES.

I'M FEELING A LOT BETTER TODAY.  I HATE MY WONKY DAYS BUT THEY DON'T LAST TOO LONG SO THAT'S A BLESSING.
GOT OUT OF THE SHOWER AND STILL NOT DECIDED WHAT TO MAKE WITH MY DEFROSTED GROUND BEEF.  COULD BE COTTAGE PIE, MEATLOAF, OR BEEFY SHELLS.  OR MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE. ALSO NEED TO USE UP SOME PUDDING SO WILL MAKE A BATCH TODAY.   DECISIONS, DECISIONS.  I MADE TUNA SALAD LAST NITE AND HAD 1 SANDWICH ON WHITE WITH PICKLES.  THEN WATCHED TV AND FELL ASLEEP FOR ONLY ABOUT 15 MINS BUT WOKE UP HUNGRY.  SORRY TO SAY I CHEATED.  STUFFED MY FACE WITH CHIPS.  JUST HAD TO PUT SOMETHING IN MY MOUTH.
WILL GET MY RECYCLES OUT TODAY AND WORK ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE.  THEN THIS EVENING ITS BINGO NITE.  CROSS YOUR FINGERS FRIENDS, THAT I COME HOME WINNING AT LEAST A LITTLE.
EXPECTING MY NEW BATHROOM SCALE TODAY SO I CAN START CHECKING MY WEIGHT.  I FEEL I HAVE LOST A COUPLE LBS. SINCE THE 9TH.
THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT.
HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

I started this twice, once the loss was my fault, the second time, it flashed and poof!  Howard is off to lunch with the ROMEOS and to the credit union to try to get our pin numbers for our new debit cards in place.  Ever since he tried by phone, yesterday, he gets a busy signal, only.  I guess we jinx everything, somehow???   This time, I won't be wasting the alone time. I've done a bit too much of that!

Hmmm?  Your car, BJ.  I doubt it was the dog who moved it...maybe Frank, most likely, one of your girls?     Glad you're enjoying your beautiful Washington State summer.

Howard just called--mission accomplished, but not without some rigamarole, of course.  But he had someone at the credit union to help him.

QB, good luck with Bingo, tonight.  Maybe you'll win the jackpot if there is one.  Glad you're feeling better.  I have those wonky days, too.  Can't figure out why. Just wake up that way.
LIke you, I take it easy and if I WAS going somewhere, I stay home.

Shena, next door, brought over a bag of summer squash last evening.  She's overrun with it.  We love all squash so glad to get it.  Had a nice catch-up with her.  Their youngest son graduated and his open house is July 26.  I offered to help her prepare the food, chopping for the potato salad, etc. but she said she was good.  After she left, Howard said, You can't keep up here, and not to offer like that. (He's right.)   Well, I helped her for the first one and wanted to again if she needed it.  Her mother just got out of the hospital with CHF  and she always makes the p. salad.
Rambling, so going to go.  Have a good day.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

I got 8 hours sleep last night, but think I need to crawl back in bed and start over.

First, I had my stamp books in the cart. I went and got my wallet, but got sidetracked by a TV show and never did pay for them.

Today I went and picked up Molly's prescription at the clinic. Chewy.com is $32 and the clinic wants $62. It sucks I have to mail the prescription in, but that's what my clinic requires. I had to add some anti itch shampoo to get free shipping, but $49 is better than $62.

I went to Walmart and did my leisurely shopping, mostly went there to walk. When headed to the checkout, I did not have my wallet! I had left it on the coffee table. I had to put everything back up, but thank goodness it wasn't a lot. I will try again tomorrow.

Good Morning, these letters are so small, not sure why!!  It is a beautiful morning, there is a nice breeze.  Not sure why my car is out of garage.  I'm not feeling very bright this day, but will get smart later, I hope!!!  Just wanted to say Hi to everyone.  Have a wonderful day and enjoy the sun!! Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

OH, Devonne, sounds like something I would do.  Keeping all the balls in the air can be challenging, can't  it?

It's 71 degrees here this morning--our one day of cooler weather before the heat returns.  Overcast, too.  We've got everything open.

Linda, that's me, too.  I stop to rest and then it's hard to get going again.  It's not like it used to be when I could keep at something all day if necessary.

Janet, you must have gotten all the bargains of the day.   From a few days ago...I also can't believe your grandson is that age.  Interesting...his choice of where to go for his birthday?

We all received an invitation to the Gabriel Home summer picnic on Saturday.  It's where Mom spent her last two years.  They will always be special to us and we'll always be family to them.
And...even Howard is willing to go without complaint.  You can bring something or not, no pressure. (ML is bringing something.  I'm not.)  And besides good old American picnic food, their relatives, friends and neighbors make a variety of  Filipino foods that are more than delicious.

Well, I'm off.  Ended up wasting the day again, yesterday and that's NOT going to happen today.  Have a good day, whatever you do.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

SIGNS OF THE TIMES......
1.  ON A MOVIE THEATER:  CHILDREN'S MATINEE TODAY.  ADULTS NOT ADMITTED UNLESS WITH CHILD.
2.  IN A FLORIDA MATERNITY WARD:  NO CHILDREN ALLOWED.

LOOKS TO BE HOT EVEN THO WE HAVE RAIN COMING THIS AFTERNOON.  T-SHOWERS EXPECTED.  TEMPS IN THE HIGH 80S TODAY AND MUGGY.  MAY HIT 91.

DEVONNE.....SORRY YOU HAD SUCH A DIFFICULT DAY.  IT HAPPENS.  ESPECIALLY AS ONE GETS OLDER.

I LOST 2.50 AT BINGO LAST NITE BUT IT WAS STILL A FUN NITE.
I WENT TO CRAFTS THIS MORNING BRINGING ALONG ANOTHER IDIOT DISH CLOTH I'M KNITTING.  I ONLY KNIT ON IT AT CRAFTS SO I HAVE SOMETHING TO DO.  I HAVEN'T ANY OTHER HANDWORK STARTED.

I AM DOING WELL ON MY NEW EATING PLAN AND FEELING GOOD, TOO.  I LOST 4 LBS SINCE JULY 9TH WHEN I WENT TO THE DR. AND GOT WEIGHED.  I ALLOWED FOR CLOTHING.
I AM GOING TO MAKE A BEEF AND ELBOW CASSEROLE TODAY TO SHARE WITH THE NEIGHBORS.  ONCE IN A WHILE I WILL MAKE A MEAL TO SHARE BUT NOT AS OFTEN.  TRYING TO KEEP DOWN MY FOOD BUDGET.

A BIT OF HOUSECLEANING IS NEEDED TODAY BUT NOT MUCH.  THE REST OF THE DAY ITS DOING THINGS I ENJOY.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Afternoon y'all!

Mom is at her new digs!  Had to do memory care.  Can't remember if I told you but the furniture did not arrive when it was supposed to.  The delivery guy said it was denied!  Facility said they never came!  Another Hospice company volunteered furniture until hers arrived then we had a pissing match with the original company that then fired mom as a client, and refused to transport her.  I called the facility, they called the other hospice and got her transported.  Then the battle over who would take care of her.  The 2nd company stated she is not hospice eligible.  So when the assessment day comes, original company is still taking care of her, I need to be able to get my hands on a wheelchair and hospital bed asap!  Will this never end!?!

I am only going every other day to see mom.  It is draining to go every day!  I have things I need to get done!  Tuesday I made a ton of phone calls, all but one on mom's behalf!

Today is folding her laundry that I picked up yesterday.  Some still has not dried!  In this heat you would think it would take seconds to dry!  Nope!

Simba is doing great! He is getting quite the deluge of tennis balls from the park!  He loves chasing them and is finally figuring out that if he brings it back we will throw it again!  He drops it for me, but the rest of the family has to remove it from his mouth!  Funny dog!

Kids are all doing great!  I think Sara's machine issue is fixed!  Alex is still making the condo his own.  Luke is being given additional work days because his boss is leaving and he is doing his bosses job.  It will be over time one week and comp time the next!  If it works for him then all is good!

Saturday Todd, Alex and myself went to Gaffney to get peaches, yes I live in the peach state and go to South Carolina for my peaches.  They are better tasting!  Then to Ninety-Six, yes it's a place/town.  It's where the first Revolutionary battle happened in the south!  From there hubby found us a place to go to Mass, and after that we went to a Braves affiliate minor league baseball game!  Had a blast!  It was nice to have fun!

Hubby and I have started a list of what we need to get done/purchase before he retires!  We frequently talk about what we need to do but don't put it down on paper!  Now we have, at least started it!   Probably won't get it all done, but we can at least prioritize things!

Making a peach pie recipe I found online for tonight.  Supper will be grilled cheese with tomato in it!  Our tomato plants are doing well this year!!

Not much else happening.  Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Theresa, that's good news. You shouldn't have to be the one to find her a wheelchair and a hospital bed. Glad you had some fun while in SC. That's a great thing you and Todd are doing. We did the same thing!

I will be so glad when I can get rid of this carpet. With my bad back, it's so hard to use the vacuum cleaner and the shampooer when needed. I do use the Roomba, but I need to use the big vacuum cleaner every so often. With kidney disease, Molly is having more accidents. I did find something that is guaranteed to eliminate the smell of pet urine.  You have to buy an enzyme cleaner. Tomorrow will be the first day I've used it.

Greg said I shouldn't get any more dogs when Molly and Gracie are gone. I think God has a plan for all of this and me aging.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Devonne, maybe get an older dog? When my friend Barbara’s lab died, she contacted the breeder, and was able to buy one of their breeding labs who they felt was too old to breed again. I think Blondie was about 8 when she got her.

PT at 11. Another hot one, what else is new.

We had lunch with Heather and Jul. Jul thanked me for being her sane grandmother, LOL.

I’m underwhelmed with the accufeed. The fabric still shifts.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

TWO-HEADED HEADLINE.....
BLIND WOMAN GET NEW KIDNEY FROM DAD SHE HASN'T SEEN IN YEARS.

ITS SUNNY AND BRITE AFTER OUR T-STORMS AND MAY HIT 80 TODAY.

MY THOUGHTS ON NEW DOG......IF YOU GET A YOUNG ONE IT MAY OUTLAST YOU AND WHO WOULD TAKE ON ITS CARE.  IF YOU GET AN OLDER ONE YOU TAKE ON THE NEW AGING AND MEDICAL COSTS THAT COME ALONG WITH IT AND THE HEARTBREAK OF LOSING ANOTHER OLDER PET.  THEY WEREN'T WORTH THE HEARTACHE TO ME AFTER I LOST MY CORGI PENNY.

TODAY I HAVE NO SPECIAL PLANS.  I MADE THE NEW BEEF AND ELBOW CASSY YESTERDAY AND FOUND IT WANTING.  IT WAS A BIT TOO DRY.  I THINK THE EGG MIXTURE COULD USE A BIT OF MILK ADDED TO IT WHICH WAS NOT IN THE UTUBE RECIPE.  I SHALL MAKE IT AGAIN WITH MILK ADDED.  THO MY 2 NEIGHBORS BOTH CLAIMED THEY ENJOYED IT WITH ONE SAYING IT ONLY NEEDED MORE SALT.

PLANS ARE ABOUT THE SAME FOR ME LADIES.  A BIT OF THIS, A BIT OF THAT.  I HAVE CHICKEN BREAST DEFROSTING.  I MADE UP A PITCHER OF LEMONADE TO ENJOY.  SLOW AND EASY ARE MOST OF MY DAYS.
HUGS TO YOU ALL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Good Morning, I'm not doing so well.  So this will be brief!!  It is breezy outside, but no sun!!  Tomorrow will be Shipwreck Day in Anacortes.  We may go and check it all out.  It is a fun day.
The room where my computer is, is really the office and it is really a mess right now, but it will likely stay that way for awhile.  Hope you all have a nice day, BJ.
