Re: ODT SUNDAY 16 AUGUST ~ SAT 22 AUGUST

Gracie wants to be close to me so I moved to the sofa and put her a blanket next to me. I gave her a doggie aspirin and it's helping her...and two joint supplements. I read Shih Tzus have a high risk of getting osteoarthritis.

Cheryl, sweets were my problem too! When I get to my next goal, I'm going to celebrate with a Zero candy bar, lol! I love biscuits, but had to give those up. I looked up the Benadryl because I was curious too. It said it was to prevent any allergic reactions like hives, rashes, etc.

I decided not to change my decor color in my open floor plan, which is the main area of my house, from blue to green. I still love the blue, so why do all of that work, plus I would need to change wall art. I moved the green chair to my bedroom. Everything is staying as is!

I took a huge load to the thrift store yesterday. Home decor, dishes and 3 large bags of blouses and sweaters. I still have more to go. My family doesn't want it so it will make my life easier and there's as well one day. I have a brand new queen headboard/footboard I hope they will come and get. I thought the great grandkids would stay here more, but that never happened. It's going to be a puzzle/art room.

Sandra, I read Harry/Megan are still keeping their home here. I hope he can get close to his brother again. You sure do cook a lot being that it's just you. I hope to get meal delivery after we get back from our cruise next month. Have to eat what's in my fridge first.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 16 AUGUST ~ SAT 22 AUGUST

this will be quick, we are in the country and internet is a bit slow.
I’ll be home tomorrow

DEVONNE call me cynical but I think Harry might need $$$ they have huge overheads with him not doing much, I’m sure he misses his old life though, and I hope he can try to reconcile. If he was my family I would not trust him again 😢😢

We are having fun, lots of food, Julie and I catered last night, lots of salads, hot chicken and chips (fries) and fresh bread rolls. They all enjoyed it..

Might post this while I can 😁😁

(((hugs))) and prayers

Re: ODT SUNDAY 16 AUGUST ~ SAT 22 AUGUST

I read that Megan  is returning for selfish reasons.  I never liked her. IMHO she ruined Harry’s life.
Those that I know who have gotten infusions always take a pretreatment regiment at home and then receive another before the infusion.  Benadryl is part of it to avoid allergic reactions like, breathing issues, throat swelling, etc.  The others include Pepcid, Tylenol, etc.  The Benadryl is often given again.
The roofers came yesterday and couldn’t really find a specific place for the leak but worked in the area that was suspect.
I need to get a new pillow. My neck pain has gotten much worse in bed and when I first get up.  I sleep on my side and that doesn’t help.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 16 AUGUST ~ SAT 22 AUGUST

GLOBAL GABBLE......
1.  IN A POLISH RESTAURANT:  AS FOR THE TRIPE SERVED YOU AT THE HOTEL MONOPOL, YOU WILL BE SINGING ITS PRAISES TO YOUR GRANDCHILDREN ON YOUR DEATHBED.
2.  IN A PARISIAN RESTAURANT:  WE SERVE FIVE O'CLOCK TEA AT ALL HOURS.
3.  IN A BANGKOK WATERING HOLE:  THE SHADIEST COCKTAIL BAR IN BANGKOK.

LOOKING A BIT GRAY OUTDOORS.  MAYBE SOME RAIN IS IN OUR FUTURE.  TEMPS ARE GOOD THO IN THE LOW 70S .

I REMEMBER MANY YEARS AGO WHEN THE DEPOSED KING EDWARD AND HIS WIFE, THE DUKE AND DUCHESS, LIVED IN THE U.S.  THEY DIDN'T NEED MUCH TO LIVE ON.  RICH FOLKS LOVED HAVING THEM AS FRIENDS AND VISITORS TO THEIR PARTIES AND LET THEM LIVE FREE ON A PROPERTY THEY OWNED.  THE RESTAURANTS THOUGHT THEY BROUGHT BIG BUSINESS SO THEY DID NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR MEALS.  CLOTHING STORES BOASTED THEY WORE THEIR DESIGNS SO THEY NEEDED VERY LITTLE CASH.  WE SHOULD BE SO LUCKY.

TODAY IS SATURDAY.  NOT MUCH PLANNED.  I THINK I WILL MAKE SOME EGG YOLK POTATO SALAD OR MAYBE POTATO PANCAKES TODAY.  THINKING ABOUT WHAT TO CHOOSE.
WILL WORK ON MY NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE.
WE ARE HAVING A CHAT TIME IN THE COMMON ROOM THIS AFTERNOON.  THAT'S ALWAYS NICE.
I LABELED ALL OUR CONDIMENTS AND SODA BOTTLES IN THE COMMON ROOM FRIDGE "DO NOT TAKE" SO THAT THE PERSON WHO IS MAKING OFF WITH THE STUFF WE ALL SHARE IN THE COMMON ROOM, CAN READILY SEE EACH ONE CLEARLY.  NO WAY THEY CAN SAY THEY DIDN'T SEE THE SIGN, ETC.  WE SHALL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.  THINGS HAVE BEEN DISAPPEARING EVERY WEEK.
WE HAVE FOOD THAT'S FREE ON THE 'FREE' COUNTER AND IN THE FRIDGE THERE IS A 'FREE' SHELF FOR REFRIGERATED STUFF THEY CAN TAKE AND THE FREEZER AS WELL, ALL LABELED FREE.  I HOPE THE SLIPPERY FINGER LEAVES THE COMMON GOODS ALONE.

THAT'S IT FOR MY DAY.  STAY SAFE.  ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY 16 AUGUST ~ SAT 22 AUGUST

Howard is busily hauling cut off branches to the only spot we have available to drop them.  We can't burn--no open place large enough.  He used to burn stuff on the gravel driveway but its blacktop, now.  He has to continue the pickup before he can mow and believe me, mowing is needed. It's a rather cool day, so that helps.  The neighbor behind us is back and with all his "boy toys" has hauled off our backyard tree without the rest of it having to be cut up.  He also will take down and haul off the tree than grew on his property but busted off and is hanging over ours.  And he's working on Tom's big pine tree than fell on his prop.  I thought  maybe he would as he's that kind of guy--always out sawing, hauling, chipping, etc.  And he has the most woods to haul these trees away to.

Went to our small group yesterday, then stopped at the large farm mkt. right on the way home.  I got a 1/2 bushel of canning tomatoes, not to can but to eat.  Cheaper and available when you want one.  I have to say, they're pretty good.  As with everything, they're picked before completely ripe so a bit hard and not as tasty.  I'm going to lay them out on the sunroom table on newspapers to ripen more.  I've done this the last two years and it works well enough.  We had BLTs for breakfast!

QB it almost sounds like it's a game the thief is playing.  It's certainly been made plain by some of you  to leave the food alone!  I have enjoyed Jan Karon books in the past.  Her sister was an attendee of our church years ago.  I found that out thru scuttlebutt.  She never broadcast it.

Devonne, would a blue throw pillow on your green chair make it blend in with your living room?  Remember when blue and green were never used together?  Same with black and brown and red and pink.  Now anything goes..but not in my world and maybe not yours.
I hope Molly feels better soon, not just for her, but for you too.

Janet, I didn't think I needed a mammo. referral either, but when I got two reminder letters, they asked for one.  Going to the doc, Monday, anyway, so not any trouble.

There are many without power, still, in Lake county nearer Chicago and some in our county.  People are furious with NIPSCO. (the power co.)but this was their worst outages ever and they brought in many workers from other states. There have been some setbacks that have exacerbated the issue, too, like transformers blowing up  again after they've been repaired.
Those that got their power back only to lose it again are the most irate.  Understandably so.  And I feel very bad for them.

Going to get busy.  Have a good weekend.

Re: ODT SUNDAY 16 AUGUST ~ SAT 22 AUGUST

Trish, you may be right. Harry might be there to collect his inheritance, lol.  They've been gone about 6 years, I think? I don't see them staying there.

Janet, we had a leak and it took them forever to find it. It was in a "V" shaped corner.

I was up at 5 am so was able to give Gracie the next aspirin. She has all kinds of places to sleep, even a twin down comforter, but this is where she sleeps. Guess a hard floor feels better on her joints. She is more alert.
