Good morning everyone!!
I am heading to bed shortly, we were up early, me to bake bread and him to watch the soccer LOL
What a game, he turned it off after it became 4-0, he said he'll watch again later, I got organised and went to sewing.
I had made a kind of cheesecake, the condensed milk, cream cheese and lemon juice no cook one, it didn't really set, and the biscuit base was shortbread fingers, not baked just layered in the pan, it tasted OK but was messy, we all ate it anyway
I'm trailing some ideas for quilt camp
So far it's the Christmas Crack one everyone wants me to do ![]()
I will do my pills tomorrow, I have the dentist in the afternoon, will be a light dinner for me then, I am hoping they can rebuild the tooth, fingers crossed, but I should have a sore jaw tomorrow night.
I am so sorry about the smoke, it's awful to have hanging around, I know it all too well, we stay indoors as much as possible, with the A/C running. It does help a bit, but every time you open a door there it is, just waiting!
We love all types of fruit and veg, luckily LOL there are some the Mr doesn't like and I would rather sweet potato than white ones. But we both will try anything. I love fresh berries, but usually have frozen to use in cooking, I do love dragon fruit if I can get my hands on it, only a short season where it tastes really good. I was thinking about it today!
We ad fun at sewing, the Mr had a presentation at his club, Pete took him o he could have a drink, and I picked him up, and suggested we stay a grab something to eat salty, he is just heading to bed now, he's been dozing on the sofa.
Julie and I booked our restaurants for our cruise next March today, Claire and her DH are also traveling with us, so we booked all 6 for the forts 4 nights, only a short cruise, so we will decide after we board where to book the others. They have a steak house and an italian one, and the ships regular dining rooms. As well as some others, but we stuck with those first.
I need sleep, didn't sleep well last night, so need to catch up!
See you tomorrow ![]()

IT'S TRUE.......
I'VE REACHED THE AGE WHERE I DON'T CARE HOW I LOOK IN PHOTOS ANYMORE. I'D RATHER LOOK GOOD IN X-RAYS, SCANS AND TEST RESULTS.
ANOTHER LOVELY DAY HERE AFTER A NITE WITH RAIN. WILL BE 70S TODAY AND 50S TONITE.
TRISH.......YOU ARE ALWAYS ON THE GO. ANOTHER CRUISE IN YOUR FUTURE. HOW WONDERFUL.
LINDA......GLAD TO HEAR YOUR CELL PHONE IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN. LIKE YOU, I HATE CHANGE. IT TAKES ME AWHILE TO GET THINGS STRAIGHTENED OUT.
THERESA......DO THEY SELL ARTWORKS AT YOUR ART FAIR? I USED TO GO TO THE PORTLAND MAINE YEARLY SIDEWALK ART FESTIVAL HERE THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS WHEN I WORKED. I LOVE OIL PAINTINGS OF VICTORIAN SCENES, AND SEASCAPES AND PASTURALS. I EVEN HAVE ONE OF AN ENGLISH COUNTRY COTTAGE AND GARDEN PAINTED BY AN AMERICAN WHILE HE LIVED IN ENGLAND. I GAVE AWAY SOME OF MY ART WHEN I MOVED HERE BUT STILL HAVE 8 OIL PAINTINGS AND 2 PRINTS THAT I PURCHASED BACK THEN WHICH I ADORE. I EVEN ACQUIRED 2 MORE OIL PAINTINGS, GIFTS FROM MY NEIGHBOR DIANA LIBBY, THE WINTER TREES SCENE AND THE LOONS ON THE LAKE SCENE. I SURE MISS THOSE WALKS THRU THE ARTWORKS OF SO MANY TALENTED PEOPLE.
WELL, ITS MY DAY OF REST SO YOU KNOW I WON'T BE WORKING AROUND THE HOUSE. NOR COOKING. I MADE A SMALL 9 X 9 CHICKEN POT PIE WITH STUFFING (INSTEAD OF MASHED POTATOES) CASSEROLE YESTERDAY AND SHARED WITH 2 OTHERS. IT WAS PRONOUNCED "MAKE IT AGAIN" BY ONE SO IT MUST HAVE PASSED THE TEST. I LIKED IT THOUGH I AM NOT REALLY ONE FOR CASSEROLES WITH DRESSING/STUFFING. ITS A SIDE DISH I CAN DO WITHOUT MOST OF THE TIME. STILL, I HAVE LEFTOVERS FOR SUPPER AND FOR LUNCH I THINK FRENCH TOAST WILL DO THE TRICK. ITS BEEN AGES SINCE I MADE MYSELF ANY AND I MISS IT.
TODAY WILL BE SPENT READING AND WATCHING TV FOR THE MOST PART. I WILL DO MY LAPS AND MY EXERCISES WITH THE SMALL WEIGHTS BUT THAT WILL BE THE SUM OF MY MOVEMENTS TODAY.
STAY SAFE. ENJOY YOUR SUMMER DAY. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Evening y'all! ![]()
QB that wasn't me with the Art Fair. I saw it but can't remember who it was. ![]()
I still need to take a picture of my quilt. Been busy cleaning my sewing room. Today, I sat on the floor filing patterns I had printed and papers I got from various retreats. Yes, I organized! I grabbed a bunch of file folders, and my label maker and went to town. I can almost see most of my cutting table. I started a box for the giveaway table at the next retreat. I take too much from those tables. I organized my kits that have emerged over the last few days. They are all lined up ready to start once I finish what I have started. I need to stop buying kits, or winning them, or even both! This all started because I needed to put the retreat stuff away. LOL! At least I am seeing table tops etc in the room. I'm thrilled. I have another box of fabrics to put away. I will mess with that last. In case I find more in my cleaning. ![]()
Tried to online submit the affidavit, to the correct Parrish, and there were several spots that we were not sure how to answer, so I will call again tomorrow. ![]()
The roof is on. Took 2 days due to storms/heavy rains, both days! Simba is much happier since they left. Todd and I walked around with the telescoping magnet things looking for nails. Found a bunch, the metal detector was worthless for this. They even admitted they probably did not get them all. We did the backyard first so the most important one could get his yard back. He was very happy!![]()
We also had to replace the wax ring on the upstairs toilet. Loads of fun!
It's done and not leaking. ![]()
Supper was chicken Enchiladas! I love my recipe. I can't remember where I got it. ![]()
Nothing else exciting from my little corner of the world. ![]()

Got my tooth fixed, it took around 45 mins, she took all the old amalgam out and rebuilt the tooth, my face felt awful, the numbing has worn off now, and it's tender, not sore LOL I am a big baby. New to me dentist, and she was lovely, my guy was booked out today!
SANDRA sounds like you cooked a winner, I like the crunch of crisps/potato chips on top of the potato for pies as well, with a little parmesan grated over, hadn't thought of stuffing
The boys love my turkey stuffing meatballs, turkey mince and stuffing mixture rolled into balls and baked. YUM French toast sounds good, haven't had it for ages!!
HOLLY good to hear you got some rain to get rid of some of the smoke, it does help. I was thinking about the soccer players, playing in that air - bad enough that is so hot. We saw the last game today, disappointing that at the end the players let fly with some aggression. Not a good look for the team. I thought Spain had the better control the whole match, they seemed to be more in control.
DEVONNE good to hear that Caleb is doing well, that was an awful injury, when will he get the stitches out? Has the bruising and swelling reduced ?
STRINGS I didn't realise you had to deal with new technology, it's always difficult, I have been explaining for the umpteenth time how to get back onto youtube on the tv to DH, he just doesn't listen, he half hears and then thinks he knows the rest. ![]()
THERESA I love an easy supper, we had an easy one too, I had brisket with BBQ sauce (already made from the supermarket) and got some lovely fresh brioche rolls and made some coleslaw, easy peasy and I could eat it LOL
CHERYL you are getting close to the day now, fingers crossed that no new holdups happen. It will be so good to have that behind you (((( hugs))))
Nothing here except dentist, cleaning up before that, and stopping to get the brisket. I just cut some more strips for my quilt, I decided to get a couple more dark colours, and discard one I already have. I kept wondering about it, and I know I would keep doing that, so going to leave it out. I'll find something to do with it.
Dean has home schooling tomorrow, they had teacher development day today, so no school, and tomorrow will be also, but the kids will remote do learning, he loves it, gets up early and gets everything done ASAP then has the day to himself, NOT the way the reachers want it, but the work will get done
The Mr has started packing for his trip, doesn't leave till Thursday, I just checked his packed the toothpaste I have been getting the last few drops out of it, said he didn't check, he thought it had a lot left for 4 days
He's be lucky to get one day out of it --- MEN!!!
It will be quiet here from Thursday to Monday, I will watch some shows I have been meaning to catch up on, my sis has sent me a few recommendations.
See you later

I don’t eat pancakes or French toast….waffles are ok if they’re crisp. My DH really likes FT and pancakes, but I don’t make them.
The gym was packed today. I almost walked out but stayed for a short time.
Looks like we may finally get some rain.

It’s so gorgeous out! 70’s, low humidity, turned off the AC last night and opened windows.
Sandra, not me! I think it was Judy and the art fair?
Like Janet, I have things I won’t eat. I know without trying them that I won’t eat lamb, goat, veal, scrapple, mushrooms, olives, hot peppers, and exotic fruits. And if it lives in water, I’m allergic to it.
We went out early-ish to pay the water bill and go to the library.

Good morning.
Lovely 70ish temp. with doors open and fans on low. Later, we'll be off to W-M for scripts and a few OTC things and a few things from the grocery side. We haven't been there in 2 or 3 wks., a record for us, I think...
QB, actually, it was me and the Chesterton Art Fair. It's a vendor fair so everything is for sale. Since I have few walls and no more room on them, while there are many lovely painting, I often bypass those booths for others with pottery, jewelry, etc. Plus this is a juried and very expensive venue and the paintings are among the costliest items. Still worth the time to see what people with talent and imagination can do. Some things are so far out and often those vendor sit there alone without much interest shown by the shoppers.
Howard went upstairs to his den to watch the final FIFA game, and to spend some time with the bird, who usually pesters him. Occasionally, down here, I checked the score and was always amazed that it was still 0 to 0! This is probably ignorance speaking so no judgment, but I do wonder what the rabid draw is for soccer/futbol is?
But then, I'm not much of a sports woman. ![]()
I'll make this short this morning. Need to get ready for W-M! ![]()

Today was a lovely day! We could actually see blue sky. I did see that Cleveland has some smoke/haze still, but we are clear. Like Holly, it was cool and breezy so we turned off the AC and opened the windows.
Dean was supposed to start his third round of chemo infusions today, but his "numbers were too low" and they want to wait a week and try again. I just know that it will delay his transplant another week.
His regular oncologist is on vacation and the doctor filling will will not treat with the low counts. The nurse was going to contact the transplant doctor at the Cleveland Clinic to verify whether to do chemo or not. All in all, he still feel pretty good.
Holly, we have similar tastes as I would not eat lamb, goat, veal, scrapple, olives, mild or hot peppers, raw onion
and I don't like raspberries because of the fuzzy skins. lol! I can eat, but don't really like any sausage or keilbasa. Love most fruits and veggies, love all potatoes, sweet and white. Breads of all kinds....lol. enough about food. PS. Janet, what do you eat? ![]()
Our house is about 1900 or 2000 square feet, not sure. We have three bedrooms and two and a half baths. The land is almost an acre and these days it is too much for us. It is also paid off, but will move if we decide that we only need one level. Ours is a two level colonial with a basement. I like this home, but I am not attached to it.
I had my 3 month visit with my Nurse Practitioner and all was well. My Diabetes A1C went from 6.1 to 5.7, so that was a big drop for me. My LDL cholesterol was up a bit, but she agreed to let me go 6 months until I see her again. Yeah! I have been asking for that for a while now as my labwork and testing has been steady.
I had about 30 small quilts done (mostly kid quilts) and used to take them to Project Linus via Joann Fabric. Since they went out of business, the closest drop off for Project Linus is 45 minutes from me. Yesterday I found a local group who works with needy people in my community and they took them all. They work with the poor, the homeless, veterans, and anybody in the local area who needs a hand up. They have 10 tiny homes in the area for kids who age out of foster care, or older adults who need a temporary home. I don't know how long they get to stay in these homes, but it is a good thing. The woman I talked with said they furnish them and the blankets would be great for a young mother or father who has the kids. Now I need to go straighten and sort my fabric bins.
That is it for today. Take care all.

Cheryl, it will happen at the right time, but I know you both are anxious to get this behind you. Congratulations on getting your A1C down. I get mine checked again on August 6. When we bought our land, I did without so I could send every paycheck to pay off the land in 1992. My Mom passed away two weeks after we bought the land and Gary and Emily got married in Gatlinburg on the way back home from her funeral. They were so in love, they couldn’t wait, lol.😀 When I sold our house, I had enough to pay for this one. The week after I signed the contract, this house went up $5000. I was so lucky. I had enough money from the sale of the house I was able to give my sons a little money. It helped Gary get the 4 Runner he has now and it helped Greg pay off a debt. I felt good about it because I know this is what their Dad would have wanted.
I can’t believe Halloween stuff is in the stores in July! It makes you feel like the Fall season is already here.
Trish, Caleb will be playing in Texas starting on July 30. I’m really surprised he will be playing. I’m also surprised Gary and Emily aren’t going to Texas. Gary says it’s too hot, but I wonder if they are just tired from going so much to these ballfields. It is going to be 102 and higher in Texas. I’m sure Carol could tell us how hot it is there because they will be near Houston.
Janet, I love all of those things that you don’t like, lol. Kale is my favorite green. Like Cheryl, I don’t eat lamb, veal or goat, nor raspberries. I have no clue what scrapple is?

CHERYL I am so sorry the treatment has to be postponed, hopefully just a little it, fingers crossed for you both that he is OK very soon ((((hugs)))) Sounds like a great place for the quilts - they will be loved!!
I wonder why so many of you don't like lamb, it's pretty much on a weekly menu here, and most other homes - we have a big promo always for Australian Day, "put some lamb on the BBQ " I really like it, I do like some beef, especially a very tender cut, expensive but it's what I would buy instead of t-bone, we do eat porterhouse steak too, and of course I buy beef mince occasionally, I have switched to turkey though mostly, less fat LOL
Veggies, most we eat, is it chilli for red hot peppers, we say capsicum for red, yellow and green, and chill peppers for the hot ones, but I know you use peppers for all of them, we have such different words for the same thing, confusing sometimes. Like courgette for zucchini
or is that UK/europe only !
I do like most fruit, but I dislike peach skin and apricot skin, the flesh is good, just the furry texture LOL I LOVE nectarines, white especially! And avocados I could eat every day, but try not to indulge too much. We also have "kids pack" bananas, only 5 in a bunch and small, instead of the larger cavendish ones, just the right size ![]()
I looked up scrapple,YUK sounds like haggis
I don't like that, OR offal of any kind!! my dad did, he loved steak and kidney and tripe and onions YUK!! I used to pick out all the kidney!
SANDRA Gina will love her food, you spoil them with their favourites as we all do with our grands LOL Hope she has a lovely birthday !
I had training today, we have a lady who is now allowed to come to 2 sessions a week, I picked it up late last year, she has anorexia, she was becoming so thin, I told Sara and she looked into it - outcome being that no training till her Dr allowed and then only once a week, she's now up to 2, I told her today I was so happy for her, she really needs ( and loves) the company of us all, but it was dangerous with her condition. No one else ( apart from coaches) knows, they just kept me informed because I noticed, and she thanked me herself, she was struggling and having someone notice gave her the incentive to try to get help.
The Mr had a washing machine problem today, he wanted to wash some things to take away, asked me was MY washing machine broken, nope!! He had somehow set it to delayed setting, of course denied he could possible have touched any other buttons, I fixed it - I did tell him it was OUR machine ![]()
It was cold this morning, he will leave by 6am on Thursday, ridiculous, but he's letting the others call the times, plus they want to stop at a roadhouse that is only 45 mins away instead of the bakery we usually stop at 1 1/2 hour away - better time to stop, I told him he's driving he should stop where he wants to
Bet he doesn't though
DEVONNE that is so hot, will he be OK to play? I agree, we have hot cross buns for Easter on sale day after Christmas, then the choc eggs not too long after that, plus the clothing!!!, already starting to see summer stuff in stores, we need warm for another month at least LOL
INDY do you mean what do they do after a 0-0 score at full time - or any draw score - they play extra time for 15 mins (I think ) switching direction then for another 15 mins, then if still a draw they do a penalty shootout, 5 players from each team try to score a goal with jus the goalie protecting, awful way to win - or lose - a match. Most experienced teams have very low scoring games, that one with 6-4 was a shocker, almost unheard of !!

SIGNS OF THE TIMES.......
1. IN A NEW YORK RESTAURANT: CUSTOMERS WHO CONSIDER OUR WAITRESSES UNCIVIL OUGHT TO SEE THE MANAGER.
2. IN A MICHIGAN RESTAURANT: THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM! SPECIAL SHOPPERS' LIUNCHEON BEFORE 11 A.AM.
OUR WEEK IS SUPERB. JUST WHAT THE MANY VACATIONERS LOVE. SUNSHINE AND GOOD WEATHER BUT NOT HOT. I LOVE IT MYSELF. THE WHOLE WEEK IS LOW 80S AND 70S DAYS AND HIGH 50S AND LOW 60S AT NITE.
CHERYL........HOPE TODD'S CARE ISN'T POSTPONED. WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU GUYS HOME TOGETHER AND HIM RECUPERATING.
AS TO QUILTS, HAVE YOU THOUGHT TO ASK YOUR LOCAL POLICE DEPT IF THEY WANT THEM? OURS LOVED GETTING THEM. THEY KEPT SOME IN THE TRUNKS OF THEIR CRUISERS AND WHEN THEY WENT TO ASSIST AT FIRES, THEY GAVE THEM OUT TO FAMILY MEMBERS WHO FLED THE FIRE AND NEEDED SOMETHING WARM.
THERESA......I, TOO, CHECKED YOUR BLOG AND SEE YOU HAVE NOT UPDATED. IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU WOULD POST SOME PICTURES SOON. MAYBE A PROJECT OR A RECIPE OF A GARDEN OR PETS. I LOVE CHECKING OUT BLOGS.
GLAD TO HEAR THE ROOF IS DONE. I HOPE ALL THE NAILS HAVE BEEN FOUND AND CLEARED.
JUDY.....SORRY AGAIN. YOU HAVE THE ART FAIR. OURS WERE SMALL STANDS ALONG BOTH SIDES OF OUR MAIN DRAG FOR ABOUT A HALF MILE. STREET WAS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC. ALL PAINTINGS. A WONDERFUL GROUP FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. DIFFERENT STYLES OF PAINTINGS... ..OIL, WATERCOLORS, MODERN, PASTORAL, SCENES, PORTRAITS, SEASCAPES....JUST A MYRIAD OF DIFFERENT ART. SKETCHES AND PENCIL WORK AND DIFFERENT STYLES LIKE THE DOTS, ETC. A GREAT WALK IF ONLY TO SEE WHAT FOLKS CAN ACCOMPLISH. YUP, I SURE MISS IT.
TRISH......I DON'T LIKE LAMB EITHER. I GUESS WE ARE A BEEF AND PORK COUNTRY. YOUR MINCED IS OUR GROUND BEEF. WE ALSO EAT TONS OF CHICKENS AND TURKEY AS WELL. YOU HAVE NEW ZEALAND CLOSE BY WITH ITS MILLIONS OF SHEEP SO IT STANDS TO REASON THAT LAMB IS A MAIN PROTEIN.
HOW NICE THAT LADY IS GETTING TO WORKOUT WITH YOU AND SHE IS IMPROVING. SUCH A STRANGE ADDICTION, ANOREXIA. THEY JUST DON'T SEE THEMSELVES PROPERLY, THINKING THEY ARE TOO FAT.
I MADE THE SPAGHETTI CASSEROLE AND SHARED WITH 3 LAST NITE SINCE MY GRDAU WON'T BE COMING TODAY. SHE CAME DOWN WITH A VIRUS YESTERDAY. WENT TO URGENT CARE AND SHE'S NOW ON MEDS TO GET WELL. POOR THING. SHE'S THE ONE THAT HAD LYME DISEASE WHICH WAS NOT CAUGHT IN TIME. SHE SUFFERS IN MANY AREAS. CATCHES ANYTHING GOING AROUND. GOOD THING SHE NO LONGER SMOKES. LUNGS NOT WELL EITHER. SEND A FEW PRAYERS ALONG FOR MY GRDAU G. SHE COULD USE THEM.
TODAY WILL SEE ME TRYING TO FINISH A MYSTERY BOOK. LOVING IT AND NOT SKIPPING PARTS TO HURRY IT ALONG BUT I NEED TO SIT AND JUST READ A FEW HOURS. ITS FILE M FOR MURDER BY MIRANDA JAMES. A CHARLIE HARRIS MYSTERY WITH HIS HUGE PET CAT DIESEL.
I SHARED MY CASSEROLE WITH 3 OTHERS LAST NITE. THEY ALL ENJOYED IT BUT I AND ANOTHER FEEL IT NEEDS A TWEAK. I WILL MAKE IT A BIT DIFFERENTLY NEXT TIME. I HAVE AN IDEA THAT DICED TOMATOES AND SOME OREGANO WOULD HAVE HELPED IT TASTE BETTER. THAT TWEAK WON'T HAPPEN NOW FOR AWHILE.
TAKE CARE MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S ![]()

Cheryl, sorry for getting into the land and house info. Sometimes I get carried away, lol.
Trish, I don't know if Caleb will be ok. Caleb brought a suitcase into Gary's bedroom and told him to start packing, lol.
He doesn't like to travel without E and she has to work.
Do any of you take whey protein powder? Greg said whey powder needs more water (or milk) instead of mixing a scoop with my coffee. I'm not getting enough protein every day.
Trish, I can't actually say I don't "like" lamb, as I've never had it. It's not a popular meat here in America. Like Sandra said, we are chicken, turkey and ground beef people.
I also looked up scrapple. Gross!!
How can anyone eat that? Maybe they don't know what it is? Same with "chitlins," I would never eat them.

Devonne, I’ve never had it because it looks disgusting. Ralph gets it at the diner, they slice it, dip in flour and fry it. I think it’s another mid Atlantic area thing. What are chitterings?
My mom used to get ground lamb and make burgers from it. I would not try because I didn’t like the smell. My brother Mike loves them and makes them on the grill.
Our once a month house cleaner was here this morning, and everything is sparkling!

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
QB yes, I do need to update my Blog. I will get there! ![]()
DS I use Orgain Protein powder. I only do one scoop, as 2 scoops gets the tummy in an uproar. I cannot use it every day. Same with every one I have tried. Luke is my protein person, he told me to stay with the brand I use, because I am after just protein, not muscle building. Something about pea protein, doesn't help with muscle building, and it's in what I use. My MIL uses the premixed Premier Protein. Not sure if any of this helps you. ![]()
Holly Chitterlings are gross! More of an ethnic food, leftover from when you ate everything and nothing went to waste. It's animal intestines. I will say no more about it! ![]()
I will eat lamb, like several have said it's not a big meat item in the states. I mostly get it in Gyros. Occasionally at a restaurant! I don't cook it. Scrapple ranks up there with Chitterlings! Not in this house!![]()
Been trying to submit the heirship document. One department states another handles it, then they switch me to that department and I have to wait for a call back. ![]()
I do feel like I am going in circles some days. If I get this done, I will be totally done with the Estate! I will celebrate like there is no tomorrow! ![]()
