Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 14 ~ SAT JUNE 20

Afternoon y'all!

Y'all will be shocked to know I have been busy!  I have been sewing blocks together for the FQ challenge, along with several conversations with jack!  I have been working on dispersing the monies from moms estate!  Also giving Texas petroleum a hard time, but remaining pleasant even though I am ready to throttle some people there!

Sara got the job in Washington DC.  I'm happy for her.  I will miss our spur of the moment meet-ups.  They have to fly the nest at sometime!

Friday we will head to Nashville, my nephew is getting married!

Almost done with my challenge project.  Hubby is worried I won't finish!  Negative Nellie that boy!  Two rows sewn together, working on putting the next 2 rows together.  Then those 2 together! and sew on!

Simba is doing good.  He wilts quickly in this heat!

Hubby did something to his back, so has been resting, hard for him since he "can't sit still".

As the remnants of the tropical system came through we got 2.8 inches of rain!

Nothing else exciting!

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 14 ~ SAT JUNE 20

I guess for now, we sit tight, right?  Howard helped me locate my user name and password if I still should send it to you, Trish.

It's a gorgeous day here.  Seventy-five and no humidity.  Like yesterday.  I've been outside on the porch reading and watching the wrens, who actually didn't leave.  They scold and fuss but then go ahead and apparently are feeding some babies as they hop in and out of the bird house.  I hear nothing but I know sometimes baby birds peep a little.

Devonne, sorry for your misery.  Tylenol never upsets my stomach.  I thought it wasn't supposed to???    So sad for all of you over the loss of Macy.  Coyotes were the main reason we had to always go out with our two dogs.  I've seen them behind us and once saw one slink right past the side of the house.  That must have been awful for Logan but I'm glad the little ones didn't see her.

Howard has a new zero-turn mower.  So far, he's 'decapitated' the well cap.  Driving one of them has a learning curve!  Of course, nothing is ever complete so  when I asked him about safely, he'd already ordered a better suspensioned seat with a seat belt, which was delivered about an hour ago.  But, he can't get it on without another man's help, (not me, thankfully) so he's tried to call friend, Albert, who didn't answer.  I do help where I can but he won't let me if it's not safe or doable.

Trish, you poor dear.  You almost need a written itinerary for all the necessary things you've done and still must do.  You know the old saying:  "No rest for the wicked and the righteous don't need it."   I hope you get your few days rest soon.

I'm going to put  smoked sausage, taters and canned green beans in the crock pot for supper.    I did that a couple of weeks ago and it was tasty...and real easy.

We had Bible Study yesterday.  Not here.  I made a strawberry poke cake for my part.  In spite of 2 faux pas, it turned out well.  First, when I went to add to oil to the cake mix, I had none, only olive oil, so I used that.  Secondly,  I accidently canceled the oven when I canceled my timer.  When the cake was supposed to be taken out, it obviously wasn't done.  So first I panicked, then I just left the cake in and turn the oven back on and lo and behold, it finished baking perfectly.   They all liked it and that's what matters.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 14 ~ SAT JUNE 20

Devonne, thanks for all the information you found about the site.  So sorry about the dog, Macy.  It is heartbreaking when that happens.  We have coyotes in our area too, but what is to be expected when we keep taking their land?  Also black bears are now in my NE Ohio area, young male bears looking for love,  coming over from Pennsylvania.  The police shot one the other day and there was absolutely  no need to do do so.  They could have darted it and taken it back to the mountains.  He was a very small male and was just passing through the biologist said.

We had two kittens under our deck but they are not there now.  We still see the mother, but no babies.  We wonder if she moved them away due to the dog being here?  We do have a shed in the back and many groundhogs and skunks have nested there.  We are hoping that is where she took them and that a raccoon or a coyote did not get them.  Raccoons can be really mean when looking for food.

Dean is extremely tired and will get platelets and a blood transfusion on Monday so we have just stayed home today and rested.  We did go to the grocery store and got some fresh milk and a few groceries for Aaron and the family for when they get home tonight from California.  They were supposed to get in at 11:30 p.m., but Aaron just texted and said their flight from Phoenix to Cleveland was delayed 2 hours.  Flying is no fun these days.  Hopefully that is the only delay.

It was lovely today, sunny and very breezy.
