Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

IT'S TRUE......
1.  I'M NOT OLD. I'VE JUST BEEN YOUNG FOR A LONG TIME!
2.  TODAY I'M GOING TO ACT LIKE A HAPPY, NORMAL AND MENTALLY STABLE PERSON.  WISH ME LUCK!

SUNNY AND IN THE 50S TODAY.  NICE DAY.

TRISH......SORRY FOR YOUR NEWS.  ITS HARD STAYING WITH SOMEONE WHO IS FAILING.  SHE'S HAD A LONG LIFE AND DOESN'T UNDERSTAND.  ITS GOOD YOU GET SOME RELIEF WITH OTHER FAMILY TO STAY WITH HER SO YOU CAN GET SOME REST.  HUGS GIRL.

ITS MY DAY OF REST AND I'M ENJOYING IT.  I WILL READ, MAYBE WORK ON MY PUZZLE A BIT AND WATCH SOME TV.  PETE'S DRAGON IS ON RIGHT NOW AND THO I'VE SEEN IT BEFORE, ITS WORTH A 2ND LOOK.  I TOOK OUT SOME GROUND BEEF TO DEFROST FOR TOMORROW.  TODAY I WILL MAKE STEAK AND MASHED TATERS WITH GRAVY.  FOR LUNCH IT WILL BE A TUNA SUB.  I AM GOOD.

I AM THANKFUL FOR A LIFE WITH FRIENDS AROUND ME.
FOR FAMILY THAT LOVES ME AND CARES.
FOR A BODY THAT KEEPS ON TICKING, SOME DAYS BETTER THAN OTHERS.
STAY SAFE MY GOOD FRIENDS.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

Just a quick hi! I've been rearranging a few things in my bedroom. I'm happy with it now.

I'm watching the Masters. I don't see all the beautiful azaleas and the grass is brown in a lot of areas. The worse I've ever seen it look. Must have been a frost in Augusta. I know a lot about golf, as Greg is a golfer. The winner will get a record $4 million. It's a $20 million disbursement today among all the top players.

My mistake, my grandson went to Spain with a school trip for seniors, not Mexico with a few friends. 🤷‍♀️.

STUDENT BLOOPERS.......
ANCIENT EGYPT WAS INHABITED BY MUMMIES, AND THEY ALL WROTE IN HYDRAULICS.  THEY LIVED IN THE SARAH DESSERT AND TRAVELED BY CAMELOT.  THE CLIMATE OF THE SARAH IS SUCH THAT THE INHABITANTS HAD TO LIVE ELSEWHERE, SO CERTAIN AREAS OF THE DESSERT ARE CULTIVATED BY IRRITATION.

WILL HIT 60S TODAY AND ITS SUNNY.  LOVELY DAY.  MAKES ME FEEL LIKE SPRING HAS ARRIVED BUT I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH.  LAST FROST DATE HERE ISN'T TIL MEMORIAL DAY OR LATER.

I'VE DONE MY LAPS AND AM INTO SHORTS TODAY.  WINDOWS ARE OPEN.  LOVE THE SUNSHINE.  HOPE TO DO SOME SEWING TODAY.

NOTHING SPECIAL HAPPENING TODAY.  STAY SAFE.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL MY FRIENDS.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

I posted yesterday at  the end of Saturday's posts!     Don't know how to transfer it here so...
Me and all electronics/devices have a love/hate relationship. Hate to admit to this, but since I DID post, thought I'd tell you.    (Hope the emojis say it all.)

Janet, we all make mistakes.  Don't worry about it.  All you, and we, said still holds true for those careless enough to risk it.  But, am glad your grandson was in a different situation.

I'm plugging away here in the house getting ready for the small group on Friday.  Have vowed to make less of an issue about it all.  And, springtime is the time to refresh one's decor and this place surely needs it.
Devonne, funny how just a few tweaks make such a difference and gives one satisfaction.

Trish, thinking of you and yours at this difficult time. Repeating what I said before:  Even tho you felt this coming, it's got to be hard for you all.  Good that you're able to pull together and be there for her and each other.  Hugs and prayers.

Linda, Howard manages to tell me every day, 'Life is tough, Judy!'  Tired of that, but guess he's right, and especially as we get older.  And since we all have to deal with passwords, that complicates life, more. Glad you found yours...

Closing this.   Thankful I feel better today, than Sat. or Sun. so am able to do more.     Catfish for supper.  I'd better get it out of the freezer.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

I ordered new glasses this morning. I got the ones where you get the base frames, then you can get extra fronts that clip on with a magnet. We went from there to brunch at IHOP.

Came home and finished Steph’s reversible apron.

It’s 77 and windy out. Dinner will be leftovers.

Thinking of Trish and family.

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

Afternoon y'all!

DS NO! You don't want an outside company to do your HOA.  We have one and it's worse than the HOA.  We have been forced to remove live branches from trees because they were not to the "inspectors" liking.  We left our garbage can out while we were doing yard work, and had run inside for a bit and they threatened a fine if it was not fixed immediately, wanted us to clean our roof because of a little staining as it was not esthetically pleasing!....  You get the idea!

Trish will keep her and family in my prayers.  Been there, I understand!

We got our garden in the ground on Friday.  Last frost for us is tax day.  It's going to be in the 90's by Friday.  Not worried about frost. A/C will be on by then!

It's unusual to get the 90's this early in the year.  We usually don't have that until July ish!  Gonna be a hot one!

I need a little bit more fabric to finish my FQ challenge.  Got the blocks cut, for the most part.  Once I get the fabric, wash and dry it I can finish it.

Today, I walked, paid bills, medical, and worked on clearing out my email.  An endless task.  I had no clue that I had so many.  I have deleted over 500 just today and still have over 6k to cull through.  Some are easy deletes, like Krispy Kreme from last month.  Easier to do on the laptop than the phone.  If I keep at it I can finish all of them then go through my folders and delete those.  Most are in "quilt stuff" which is free patterns, got to love free.  I need to create folders on the laptop of patterns, like the holidays etc.  Hubby is great at that stuff.  He needs to walk me through a couple.  I also found a free Quilt pattern inventory sheet, that I can write them down on, print off a bunch and label according to each file name.  a bit of work, but once it is initiated it should be easy, so she says!

Shoulder is slowly improving.  I picked up the prescription she sent in, last Monday, and it was what I already had with different directions.  I will keep doing what I am doing, because it is working.  We found the 8 hr Salon Pas patches at Sam's club on Sunday, 15 per box for just a bit more than my 5 per box.  Got 2 boxes.  Hubby puts it on before bedtime, they help ease the pain so I can sleep.  As we all know sleep is important to healing!

I have the bins up to put Easter away.  I am getting everything into one area before I start putting it into their respective bins.  I keep finding stuff I forgot!  Thus why I don't pack it up when he brings my bins up.  Plus I have to empty out the stuff that goes back out, that I placed in those bins.  I also needed laundry to be done, Simba has Easter blankets that have to go in the bins.  Heaven forbid the dog have non seasonal blankets!  The horror to even think that!  I have never had a dog love blankets like he does!

I am working on getting me a blog site.  I have looked at the ones here.  Hubby said he will help me set it up, then I can post my silly dog!  BTW he still protects us from his reflection!

You are now caught up with my little corner of the world.

Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

Trish, I thought your SIL was much younger.

I got 3 hours of sleep last night. I haven't been worth a flip today! I tried to take a nap, but couldn't get to sleep. Since I couldn't sleep, I shopped on Amazon and ordered a new quilt for my bed and new lamps. Emily wants my old ones.

I don't know what was decided in the HOA meeting. If no one wants to be HOA officers, we either get an outside company or let our subdivision fall apart with no HOA. This is when I would have to move out. I hope they let us know if this was resolved.

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

His sis died last evening, she would have been 81 tomorrow, she had a much longer life with care for my guy for many many years, he has accepted her loss, and is relieved she is no longer in pain and was comfortable in her last days.

The staff have been so supportive, I stayed and helped with morphine and genera comfort care, just holding her clothes away from the site and seeing if there was any discomfort, his brother couldn't stay for that - I had so much involvement with Dianne's care it's not a problem for me. Sounds cold, but it is what it is. Their youngest brother came and saw her finally, and she passed less than 15 mins after he left. Staff had brought in sandwiches and fruit and also a small table with a lavender diffuser and flowers, they had all seen her before she died, and many brought us to tears, with the love they showed her.

Now the work starts to get everything sorted, it will be a busy few days next. So much to do, including removing everything from her room, that will take some doing.

I am so thankful for all of you, and so glad we have each other, I was thinking about BJ and Tracy and being able to contact us, I suggest that we each think of some way to contact someone here,  or be able to log in themselves to post - we have lost members - AJ and San with no idea where or how they are, some have dropped out quietly, but we know, I suspect that AJ has passed, and San I have  no idea, I would love to know if she's ok.

Sorry to be maudlin today, just thinking aloud.

I will be fine, and the Mr is too, he thanks you all for the thoughts for him and his little charge, she was both the joy and bane of his life for many years, her "you can't tell me what to do I'm older than you, you're not the boss of me" and his "mum left me in charge" answer will be in his mind for a long time!

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

Trish, so sorry but I'm sure it's a blessing. My brother also passed away 15 minutes after I got to the hospital in Jacksonville, Florida and I told him it was ok to go. Isn't that odd how that happens?

I have tried to stay in contact with some old members on here. I still send messages to Bonnie sometimes on Facebook ("big ole bear hug," lol) and Kathy. I used to message Tammy, but haven't in quite awhile. This is when I got my C diagnosis and life got in the way. I used to hear from Marlene. I don't know how Aunt Jo is doing. Maybe Janet does? I don't like not being able to stay in contact with people.

I have sent Marilynn two text messages with no response, The texts are going thru to her phone number. I left my number in a text I sent her, as sometimes she can't find it. I will try to call her again in a few days. Judy, have you tried contacting her?

I would love to know what happened to Diane (San). Maybe it's time to send her a card to see if she gets it.

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

Trish, my condolences to you and your family. Even when it’s expected, it’s hard.

Devonne, how would your subdivision fall apart without an HOA? Doesn’t the town have ordinances?

I’m Facebook friends with Tammy, she mostly posts about grief and cooking. Ashley is also on Facebook, and we text occasionally.

I have a routine cardiologist appointment tomorrow afternoon.

As far as I see on FB, Joanne and her DH are well. She’s still quilting and enjoying her grands.

Re: ODT SUNDAY APRIL 12 ~ SAT APRIL 18

Trish, deepest sympathy for your family.  A loss is always difficult no matter the age.

Devonne, I am the opposite of you in that I absolutely do will not live in an allotment with an HOA. Way too many rules.

Dean has an appointment with his oncologist on Thursday to discuss  his chemo injections.  Dean thinks they are taking way too long to get it started, but what can we do?  A bunch of "hurry up and wait" thing.

Holly, I have looked at that type of glasses too.  Let me know how you like the frame changes.

Take care friends.
