Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Happy Birthday, Sandra!  Bingo wins, no chores, and yummy food sound like the perfect celebration.

Happy Birthday, Warwick!  I know it's his birthday because Glen turns 78 in a few hours, and the two of them are ODT twin husbands.

I'll try to get here tomorrow.  I'm leaving for Amsterdam on Sunday, so I have a lot to do.  I'll be tiptoeing through the tulips, eating cheese and chocolate, and buying lace.  I think the bank account is already complaining!

Many good thoughts and prayers for all of our concerns.  Hang in there everyone!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

ENGLISH STUDENTS GET IT WRONG......
1.  ZANZIBAR IS NOTED FOR ITS MONKEYS.  THE BRITISH GOVERNOR LIVES THERE.
2.  THE PURITANS THOUGHT EVERY EVENT SIGNIFICANT BECAUSE IT WAS A MASSAGE FROM GOD.

YIPPEE, THE SUN IS SHINING TODAY.  THEN RAIN AGAIN TOMORROW.  BUT I WILL ENJOY THE SUN WHILE I CAN.  TEMPS IN THE 40S TODAY.

I ENJOYED MY BIRTHDAY.  THANK YOU LADIES FOR THE GOOD WISHES YOU SENT ALONG.  I FELT THEM.
MY DAU AND GRDAU G CAME OVER.  THEY BROUGHT ME A WONDERFUL SNUGGLER BLANKET OF SNOOPY AND A SNOOPY SOUP CUP ALONG WITH SOME PEEPS, A MYSTERY BOOK TO READ AND CASH.  I LOVED THEM ALL.  ESPECIALLY THE SNOOPY ITEMS.
I DID NOT PUT PEEPS ON MY GROCERY LIST FOR TODAY BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WERE TOO EXPENSIVE, SO IT WAS NICE TO GET A COUPLE OF PACKAGES.  I SNACKED ON SOME LAST NITE.
AS FOR MY WEIGHT, ITS UP AS WAS EXPECTED.  I WILL WORRY ABOUT THAT STARTING MONDAY WHEN I GET BACK ON MY SCHEDULE.  LAZING ABOUT HAS NOT HELPED BUT ITS SURE BEEN FUN.
I ALSO GOT MY LAB RESULTS BACK AND ALL MY NUMBERS ARE IN THE SAFE ZONES SO NO MORE LABS FOR A YEAR.  ALWAYS GOOD TO HEAR ESPECIALLY ON BIRTHDAY WEEK.

I WISH YOU ALL A GOOD DAY.  I AM STILL ON NO-CHORES DAYS BUT LUCKILY I STILL WASH MY DISHES.  I WOULD HATE THOSE TO PILE UP ON ME.
STAY SAFE.  ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND AND EASTER.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Sun is shining but that will be followed (thru say) by t-storms later today and rain all day tomorrow. I will try to load my car today before the rain. I don’t leave for retreat until early Monday. I guess I should go pack my stuff. This is the least ready I’ve ever been.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

It's raining, gently, here, after storming in the night.  I  was headed out for my laps in the driveway, but  the rain halted that.  Maybe later.

QB, Glad you had a nice birthday visit from your DD & DGD, and got some nice and welcome gifts to enjoy.   I didn't even see any Peeps when we shopped.  Didn't look for them either, tho.  I love them very soft and fresh.  Stepson, David wanted them slightly stale.  Some weird trivia I remember since he hasn't lived with us since 1991.

ML came yesterday and we sorted and culled some of my myriad books.  I was aghast at how many non-fiction books I had only read part of and quit, at least according to where the bookmarks were in them.  She said there are no book police and that that was okay.  We had a couple of skirmishes as we were both a bit crabby and it's difficult for me to keep the goal in mind--not just organize, keep and store, but  get things out of here that need to go.
She's stopping by here today on her way home from town to pick up the cheesecake slices I have for  them and forgot to give her, yesterday.    H & J do not need to eat them all ourselves!

Carol, oh joy for you going to Amsterdam.  That was our 1st stop when we went to Holland in 1990.  We, then,  went on to Friesland to hopefully, meet some of our family, which we did.  I guess maybe the tulips will be in bloom at the big flower market, can't remember it's name.  Have a wonderful time and I wish you journeying mercies.

Howard's out in the garage fiddling with the small generator.  Neither of them will start and I don't hear anything, so...?  His trip to the VA yesterday was in vain as at noon an announcement was made that the person he was to see, had an emergency at his home and wasn't going to be there.  So, H. popped in long before I expected him.

Since we're not getting together with the kids, I can't figure out if I want to fix our Easter dinner tonight or wait until tomorrow.   It's just a ham slice and baked sweet potatoes and cauliflower and...cheesecake, nothing special.  If I ask him, he'll just say, 'Whatever you want.'

Have a good Saturday and Happy Easter, tomorrow.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

I was hoping Cheryl had posted.

I went to the Honda dealership yesterday and got my oil changed and the transmission fluid. It has to be CVT fluid and the internet recommended using only genuine Honda fluid. Greg and Carter picked me up and we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch. I bought their lunch, as he did me a huge favor of not sitting there waiting for two hours. I wasn't impressed with my meal, but it wasn't great the last time we went there either.  My oil change and transmission fluid was $213 and he gave me a great deal. I called a local auto care place and they only had a compatible fluid. Their price was $285! When I had my 2007 Highlander, it was $30 at Walmart.

Linda, as Trish said, Darrell is a typical male, lol.

Carol, have a wonderful, safe trip!

Sandra, you had a great birthday week. Nice gifts and you got to see your DD, DGD and your DS.

Haven't done anything special for Easter in years. G&E are leaving for Panama City tomorrow. Next week is Spring Break. Greg doesn't have Carter this weekend.

I'm headed to sew the five rows together. I pinned all the blocks last night.

Holly, thanks for the info. I have plenty of new blades I doubt I'll ever use. I have heard of Madame Sew. Have you started a rag quilt yet?

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Devonne, no rag quilts yet. I made Heather a reversible apron with criss cross straps, I just finished it. I have fabric picked out for Manda and Steph for aprons.

It’s 80 and sunny, so windows open. We’re going to Heather’s for brunch tomorrow. I’m taking overnight blueberry French toast, and a spinach salad with fruit.

Sandra, sounds like your birthday week was very nice!

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

Yesterday I bought a small butterball natural turkey breast. The plan was to make it for dinner today. DH is still under the weather. I never realized what a cry baby, whiner he can be. It’s his favorite dinner so I thought it would help? Anyway, I slit open the bag and did it ever stink! So double bagged it, put it in freezer and will bring it back after retreat! What a pain. Now I have to come up with a dinner plan. I have stuffed peppers in the freezer….hardly a suitable replacement. 😔.
A small bird flew into our picture window this morning. His partner sat by his side for 2 hours…poking him from time to time. 😢. After it flew away, I went out to bury him/her? I cried so much.
I can’t seem to get my stuff packed for retreat. I’m thinking about not even going.
All minor compared to what many are going through.
Carol- have a safe trip.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 29 ~ SAT APRIL 4

SANDRA I am so sorry I missed your birthday!! I am happy you had some good things happening -  buddies and a day of just doing what you want, as well as family  Happiest of birthdays dear friend!

Computer problems, well actually the darn router, finally found the cause LO but we had no computer most of the day.

CAROL Happy Birthday to Glen too !! I did remember they shared a day. Enjoy Amsterdam, I keep meaning to find out if the chinese restaurant on the water is still there - that was pretty nice food.

JANET hope DH is feeling better, I find mine is a bit of a pain with sickness too, his cold is the worst 'flu ever LOL I just give him hot tea and meds and try to keep out of the way!!

INDY sounds like a good idea to catch uo late, we are too with M & G and the boys, although we had dinner with John last 2 nights. The others are camping, M came back yesterday for the afternoon and night she was attending Ella's ceremonies, she became a Catholic and M was her sponsor, she recommended Ella for a teaching job in one of the schools she regularly visits, Ella is very appreciative and is doing well.

DEVONNE that is a really good price for service, I am lucky to get out at around $300 or so, mostly ore, and my car is ld now, but I still go to the dealer, it paid off when I had a problem, they replaced a half motor for free and it was out of warranty well and truly.

HOLLY I rarely wear aprons, but I like the ones like that (bib ones I call them) , the tie around your waist seems to be useless to me, I make a mess ALL over my clothes LOL

It's cool and dreary here today, I have warmer clothes on, but supposed to be hot again by Tuesday.
It's Gary's 80th next week and the girls want us to come to dinner to celebrate. He doesn't know we will be there.
Sis-IL is not doing well, her readings are still very high, however she is still getting around and no complaints. She seems to be the same, so we don't really understand what's happening, her Dr has been contacted - again - and we will wait on her opinion, she is still not eating anything, drinks some hot tea and will eat some custard. That is all, plus the nutrition drink we have supplied for many years, think that is all that is sustaining her.

I did a load of washing - it won't dry though LOL and I did eat a small chocolate bunny.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!
