Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Carol you have to remind me where I put ____! Then I will remind you where you put the cards! LOL! ![]()
Holly you can come help me clean mine!!!! ![]()
Nice day here. Simba has been enjoying the door being open! He's plum tuckered out! He has been going in and out since I have been home! ![]()
Got 2 loads of laundry done, walked the park. Watched the Quilted Cow Live show, bought nothing, I must be sick! Unloaded the dishwasher and now here. Exciting day. ![]()
I am trying to get in touch with a company, mineral rights, that now tells me that another company now holds the accounts. What a pain! Now I have to start all over!!! ![]()
Guess I have to suck it up and dive right in! ![]()

Good day all. Nothing to say, really.
Theresa, I hope you are able to finish up your mom's estate. It sure has been a trial for you.
It is pretty warm here today too, almost 40 degrees. The snow is melting off the roof. It will freeze again tonight so walking can be dangerous.
We have been watching parts of the Olympics. I like the figure skating, the luge and the biathalon. I love watching Ilia Malinin skate and he has been quite nervous, which is very different for him. The Olympics can do that!
Trying to figure out what to make for supper. ![]()

Reached 60* today and there is some melting.hopefully it will stay above 32 to prevent refreezing.
Regarding the medical clearance…remember the old saying Money talks, nobody walks? This Olympics has been a disappointment. They have bent the rules.
That backflip was banned years ago. He knew it, everyone knew it. They claim it was not in his routine and they were shocked. It cost him point, I think he should have been disqualified all together. He got his notoriety either way and that what this was all about. Even Malinin was guilty of this. She was a champion in her own right and should not have skied. And did you know that she had a partial titanium knee replacement in the other legs a few years ago ago and was told to retire?
And her pride, arrogance or whatever did prevent other skiers from earning a place on the team? I’ll stop here before some of you get angry with me.
Trish….if you feel it’s necessary, you can delete this post.

Cheryl, I decided on meatloaf, (It's in the oven). Probably won't help you...
That and boiled potatoes and frozen corn. Howard loves corn, I seldom eat it unless it's summertime fresh sweet corn.
We like the skating, ski jumping, snow boarding and he likes hockey, which I despise. Hard to fit our regular programs in, and the Olympics. Not the biggest dilemma, is it?
I root for all the participants. They've all worked so hard to be there.
I, like many are also following the Guthrie tragedy, just haven't commented because what can you say? It's so awful. ![]()
Have been moping around today. Therefore, have not accomplished much of anything. Feeling a bit unwell, but not really sick. Dx: Malaise? There was an article in the paper where most everything was lumped together under that diagnosis. I'm going to give the article to ML who is fighting off something, has even been to her N.P. They're leaving for a week in Florida one week from today and she hopes to feel better by then.
Carol, a trip to Amsterdam sounds lovely. I, too, have actually been there when Mom, ML and I went in 1990. Ours was a short stay there, because we had family to look up and other places we wanted to see. I remember the bikes were everywhere and sometimes we ignorantly walked where they needed to go and one would come up behind us and ring the bike bell-it always scared me.
I'm glad it's starting to lighten up outdoors. The weather guessers are almost giddy. ![]()
Trish, hope your arm is less sore, today. Your meals always sound super healthy.
Off to start the taters boiling. Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

I was messaging Tracy. She said BJ gets on and reads a bit, but her eyes and head hurt after a little bit. Her knee is also bothering her.

As of 2024, the figure skating backflip is allowed, but no points are awarded for completing it nor any deductions if not completed. So, it's a showpiece, but it doesn't help the score.
It's warm enough here that we can start clearing gardens and pruning roses. There were fears of another Arctic blast this weekend, but it's just going to be rain and some cooler weather.
I just got home from book club, and after two long tours today, I'm going to bed. Tomorrow is a bunch of errands and getting my Hoffman challenge ready to photograph.

Carol, Happy Anniversary! What book is your book club reading?
Steph and Dan are in the air! They land in Philly at 6 pm.
Ralph and his brother had their weekly coffee at Tim Horton’s, then we went to Aldi. It’s 42 now, a heat wave! Hopefully it will melt some of those mountains of snow.
We just had leftover lasagna for lunch. Steph wasn’t sure what they will want tonight, I’m betting on pizza.
Sandra, I’ve stayed the same for close to 2 months now, it’s frustrating.

My dental surgery is scheduled for Feb. 18th. Need to get it done before Gary leaves for Texas on the 25th (I need to be sedated & need a driver.) She said it could be what is causing my sinus drainage for over a month.
Greg and Carter are leaving for Japan today. I feel a little anxious. They've never been this far away before. Hawaii was 4,700 miles away and this is 7,000 miles...as the crow flies, lol.
I have no desire to go to a country where I can't understand their language and it is so crowded. It's not my thing, but he's a traveler and has always wanted to go there. They are flying to Los Angeles tonight to break up the long flight. It's a 13 hour flight from Atlanta. They won't get to Japan until Friday.
Sandra, don't feel alone. I gained 2.3 lbs. It's the chips, peanuts and chocolate. I need to get the wheel rolling in the other direction!
I bought a 2 quart crockpot yesterday at Walmart. I have a 6 quart one for roasts, etc. but seldom use it. This one is perfect for one person. I have vegetable soup cooking in it right now.

Carol: Happy Anniversary! ![]()
You up for company? I am having issues with the mineral rights company and they are based out of Houston. I'm ready to get on my broom and give them what for! ![]()
DS I gave the 2 quart one I found at mom's lake house to Luke. Some days I wish I had it! ![]()
Nothing exciting going on here. Just dealing with stupidity. Seems to meet me around every corner as I try to settle my mom's estate. Now they cannot find where she held the lease! ![]()
I have done my walk, home, switched laundry, folded the first load, waiting on the second to finish. They are both towels. We wash all at once and do half in the dryer, then the other 1/2. This way it all dries and it does not stress the dryer. The washer can handle the volume. ![]()
I am going to ignore estate stuff and go upstairs to my sewing room and sew to my hearts content, or until it's time to make supper! I will watch my email for a response from the company. Not holding my breath. I will call them again tomorrow. They make my head hurt with their stupidity! ![]()

Theresa, absolutely, I'll clean up the guest room while you fly over.
Thanks for the anniversary wishes. I went to the sporting goods store to buy a treadmill, and I guess they didn't want my business. After looking for help and requesting help at the checkout, no one showed up. I guess I'll head to their other location. Otherwise, we exchanged cards but no kisses; Glen has a cold.
We may go out on Friday night to avoid the Valentine's Day crowd (and prices) on Saturday.
Nothing else new.

Carol, the treadmill we got is Horizon brand, we are very happy with it. It’s from Dick’s Sporting goods, I don’t know if they are nationwide.
Theresa, I’ve never known anyone who had mineral rights. Did she get them with property she bought? Can you own mineral rights separately from property?
Steph and Dan should be landing momentarily!
With my birthday the day before V Day, we usually go out earlier or later in the week, for the reasons Carol mentioned. And we mostly go out to lunch, smaller portions and cheaper.
Tomorrow is Boone’s first birthday! Her party is at noon on V Day, so Steph and Dan will be able to attend.

Happy Anniversary Carol!!
I agree with you about avoiding the Valentine's Day crowds at the restaurants; it is always such a mess. Valentine's Day is such a materialistic "holiday" anyway and we never celebrate it. We went out one year with Aaron and his first wife, Suzanne. We waited 3 hours at a Japanese steakhouse to be seated (with reservations). Dean said never again!! lol!
Dean's birthday was on the 9th and we did not do anything. We usually go out to eat, but did not do that even. Will also avoid this weekend, so not sure when we will do it. I am walking pretty good with my croc shoes and no walking boot at this time. The orthopedist said to try it this week with a wide toed shoe. I see a little swelling, but other than that, it is nice not to use that boot or crutches.
Devonne, we are not travelers by any means, but the one country Dean would like to see is Japan. I hope your son and grandson have a wonderful time. Such memories they are building with all of their travels.

MISPELLINGS.......
1. DURING PEEK SEASON THE BEACH IS COVERED WITH HUNDREDS OF BIKINI-CLAD BEAUTIES.
2. AFTER CONSUMING MY MOTHER'S VITALS, I WENT HAPPILY TO BED.
ITS WARMED UP A LOT. IN THE MID 30S TODAY AND SUNNY. WILL BE SO ALL WEEK LONG.
I ADDED LACE TO MY CAROUSEL HORSE AT CRAFT MORNING. I DID IT BY HAND SO A GOOD THING TO BRING ALONG.
MY DAY IS GOING TO BE MESSED UP A BIT FOR CHORES. I HAVE TO DOG-SIT FOR SWEET LITTLE OSCAR THIS AFTERNOON. TOM HAS 2 APPTS BACK-TO-BACK SO IT WILL BE A LONG AFTERNOON. OSCAR IS VERY NEEDY AND WANTS ATTENTION. I WILL BE LUCKY TO GET MY CHICKEN NOODLE CASSEROLE STARTED WHILE HE'S HERE. THE CHORES I CAN ADD TO THE NEXT 2 DAYS SO NO REAL PROBLEM THERE.
STAY SAFE AND WARM FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S![]()

Good Noon! Sounds silly, doesn't it? I'm slow in getting around today...had a long phone chat with friend, Bobbie, for one thing. She seldom has the time to talk like that anymore so, it's okay.
Howard had a 2nd appt. with the hand doc, yesterday. Got another steroid injection since, per the doctor, his trigger fingers aren't too bad and he doesn't want to do surgery too soon if this works. Then, we had lunch at Round the Clock, where Bobbie was leaving as we were arriving. Then a few groceries and home. Still a pretty full day.
QB, since I got my ears pierced at a jewelry store, and it was, "Walk In" ...sort of the same thing. My neighbor took me. Danny was a baby and she held him during the piercing.
Howard once said, "If God wanted you to have holes in your ears, He'd have put them there!" Oh, well...
That was long before I knew HIM!
Happy belated anniversary, Carol and Glen. Hope Glen feels better and you don't get it and hope you get/got your treadmill. Is it your ann'y present to each other?
Theresa, hope your Mom's mineral rights are a gold mine! The price of gold keeps going up. I guess it's mostly because of the world-wide usage in technolgy now, rather then mostly in jewelry. That's what H. told me...
QB enjoy little Oscar. Nice to get your pet fix like that and then send him home when Tom gets done. We have no 'petable' pets in our lives ie, with our family OR neighbors, anymore. We both miss that so much. The bird is a rather poor substitute. He can be cute, even sweet, sometimes, but he won't let anyone touch him. He opens his bill to bite if we even try. We'll have him 18 yrs. in April.
Devonne, hope the time passed quickly for you, but slowly for Greg and Carter.
I know, something just seems off when loved ones, who live close, are far away. ML and Bill fly to Florida next Tues. for a week. I do want them to do these things while they can and while we can do without them, though. (Don't mean to sound crass to those of you who have family that doesn't live nearby. I know it's something that can be hard to endure, at times.)
I must be off and get started with something. Lunch, for instance.
Hugs &
.

I'm watching a series on Netflix called The Beast In Me. I'm enjoying it, but it seems so long and drawn out. I switch to You Tube for some variety and then go back later.
It has been a hassle to get everything changed since the scammer issue. Mostly, the auto pay bills. I just hate auto pay, but it's required by ATT Internet and my SS Supplemental Plan. Greg told me I could save $10 off my monthly internet bill if I use my banking info instead of a debit card, so I changed that.
I've been on the phone with Social Security for 3 days with no luck. He finally told me to go to my local Social Security office to get my direct deposit changed. They can't do it for March 1st on the phone. It's only a few miles from me, so not a problem to do that.
Judy, I've been thinking about what I will do when I no longer have Gracie. I've had dogs, cats (and parakeets!) my entire life. I can't imagine not ever having a pet.
Holly, how is the swelling in your face? You doing ok after this procedure?
Sandra, enjoy Oscar's visit and be careful not to trip over him.

Afternoon y'all! ![]()
Holly, mineral rights can be any kind of mineral found on a parcel of land. In this case it is oil! The land is inherited from a however many great-grandfathers. It is a huge parcel and they keep drilling in other areas. Don't know the intricacies of what happens when, just that we get checks when they bring up oil, it is disbursed between tons of heirs so not a bunch of money. Also many companies stake claim to a portion of the land. ![]()
Indy I wish it were gold! ![]()
I have been on my walk, to the bank to deposit the check from the SC bank. Finally those accounts are closed. A plus is I did not have to go to SC to close them!!! ![]()
Home, watched the Quilted Cow pop-up, and did not buy anything. Maybe I am sick? Nah, just too many projects right now, I don't need to add to the list! ![]()
I did pull a project out of a project bag yesterday. I was given the kit by my MIL, who was given the kit by her mom. It is a Better Homes and Garden kit, from 1976. Yup Red, White and Blue. Red and blue with white dots. White is solid white. All pre-cut. It has 8 point stars that use the red and blue. 31 stars total. I think the star #31 is an extra. I had started it many times over the years. Got most of the half stars done. Yesterday I completed that part and put the stars together. Many of my seams were off. Too many blocks to go through and rip seams, just going to deal with it! I can only surmise I started before I had a 1/4 inch foot. I am determined to finish this top, it will not go back in the project bag. I have enough other projects to put in that bag. I have several bags. Very scary! ![]()
Today, I will work on basting the quilt. I can listen to the Olympics as I baste. I have the US men's hockey on! I do like hockey, I will not go out of my way for a game. It's a lot like baseball, and football, you listen for the announcer to get excited then you watch, they will replay it so you can see. ![]()
Nothing else exciting from my little corner of the world.![]()

Belated HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CAROL & GLEN sorry I missed the day,
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLLY, it's 11th here today, so I'm getting in before I forget again LOL
THERESA sounds like a great idea, quilting and olympics, I enjoy watching too. Not so much the hockey though, Megan was a figure skater for many years so I enjoy that, though I am disappointed about the way the pretty spins have been phased out. I also enjoy the curling and all the ski jumps, moguls etc. I don't know enough about hockey to enjoy it!
CAROL & JANET I did know about the condition for the back flip now being allowed, remember Philipe Candoloro (SP??) he was good, also Suraya Boneli??? Both very good, although I do prefer the more artistic skaters. The figure skaters have now become more "aggressive" not sure if that is the right word, they seem to be less graceful, I often wonder if the reason is that they don't teach "figures" any more, they stopped when Megan was skating years ago, I remember watching them doing the different figures on their own patch during a special session, it really made them 'work' at holding the right edge and being strong.
DEVONNE I have lots of friends who have been to Japan, they all love it, still haven't got there - yet LOL maybe one day. And yes, changing everything is a pain, I have a list printed with all our passwords, yes I know you are not supposed to
, but I highlight each one that also has a credit card authorisation, makes it a bit easier when we get new cards
SANDRA I am happy you will have Oscar for a little bit, hope you both enjoy it, that is also Megan's little one, it goes well for a little dog, he is also one to get up close and personal with you, have a nice cuddle.
HOLLY enjoy the visit, pizza sounds like fun I have to decide on dinner tonight, the Mr is playing bowls so we have no dinner out tonight.
INDY I have pierced ears too, I did have 2nd holes, but let them go years ago, it was a fad LOL, one is still partly there, but doubt I'll ever go back to that LOL I never even change my earrings now, except for a very formal occasion, and haven't had one of those for a long while LOL
CHERYL I am with you on the Valentine's Day thing, we don't do it - ever - such a waste of money. The restaurants mostly do a special menu - at a cost LOL even our favourite Italian is doing one, but it's pretty inexpensive, just a different menu, I think it makes it easier on the kitchen staff to have a small selection only.
I've done my grocery order, but forgot to add english muffins for my breakfast, I toast them, and add poached eggs. No big deal, I have some in the freezer still.
The order will be ready in another hour, I just used up most of my plain flour, another 5kg bag in the order, I have about 3/4 cup left, so good timing after I have just made the sourdough. I just made it with a bit to spare.
I have been doing a little sewing, working on my puzzle, I might try to figure out the postimage site after this, maybe it will work again
Stay safe and warm, we are having a nice cool day, more heat to come next week, it's the humidity I hate, it was so humid at training, I went - my arm is still a bit sore, but I can lift it more now, darn shingles - the preventative is not fun LOL
Our garbage hasn't been collected, there was a walkout a few days ago, guess they are still catching up, at least it's not hot for it to stink up.

Devonne, I watched "The Beast in Me" Didn't love it or hate it. It was a dragger. I couldn't just stop but I thought the main character was a very poor actor! Tracy
