Sandra, the strange man was her granddaughter’s boyfriend. I texted Tracy when I first saw the message.

Happy Thanksgiving! What a wonderful thing it is to have a day set aside for thankfulness and gratitude! 🙏🏻
Sorry I was completely MIA for so long! I've been ill, but I'm recovering! We are staying home for Thanksgiving, and DS and his adorable husky will be here.
Belated birthday wishes, Trish!
I hope you are all well!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!
SANDRA I will add to your thanks and THANK YOU for being here every day with your funnies to help us start the day.
I give my thanks for such a wonderful group of friends, my health, and the ability to move. And my grateful thanks for a loving family who I am so proud of, they work hard and give value to their employers, and never allow us to want or need help, they are always there for us. I am truly blessed.
Enjoy your day - have something yum to eat and nap after lunch LOL
We had a shocker of a storm yesterday, been waiting for another today, but it doesn't seem to be coming, so I thought I would come here while I could.
Trees were horizontal, some uprooted, I thought the car port attached to our house was going to be lifted, it tried LOL but the structure stayed put, thank heavens, and no water leaks that we know of, we were lucky, so were Megan & Gary, haven't heard from my sis yet, but I suspect I would know if they got damage, so many streets were closed because of fallen trees, it was really wild
HOLLY I suspected as much when I read BJs post, so sorry BJ you got a scare (((hugs)))
ALL your menus sound wonderful, I hope you all have a great day, I have sewing tomorrow, we have another celebration cake for Julie, and Sarah and I will probably have a turn of blowing the candles as well. The cake looks yum, it's a carrot and orange cake, been in the fridge all day, I had to pick it up today as we meet at 9am, and the shop doesn't open till then.
The boys stayed here while the cleaners were at their house, I had started the beautiful jigsaw they gave me, and I wanted all the very dark pieces, asked Dean, but nope, he went ahead and started to put together another section, he did quite a lot, I have to take a pic and send, he has a good eye, he just sifts through the pieces in the box and grabs them, I taught him that way - look for shape first, colour second. He's always been quick with puzzles, John is happy that Uni is finished for the year, can't believe he's 1/2 way through his course.
Lovely to see you DIANE, hope you can visit more when you recover ((((hugs))))
See you later, don't eat too much!

BRRRR, IT GOT COLD LAST NITE IN THE 20S. BACK TO 40S TODAY AND CLOUDY.
GLAD TO HEAR EVERYONE HAD A NICE HOLIDAY WHATEVER THEIR PLANS. I ENJOYED MY QUIET DAY. LOVED MY SPAGHETTI WITH STEAK, MEATBALLS, AND CHICKEN. MMMM GOOD. SHARED WITH ONE OTHER WHO SAID IT WAS A FAVORITE MEAL AND DEAR LITTLE DOG OSCAR GOT SOME CHICKEN. HE, TOO, WAS PLEASED.
DIANE......SORRY YOU HAVE BEEN ILL. IT CAN BE TOUGH AS ONE AGES. ONE THING AND ANOTHER POPS UP BUT STAY STRONG GIRL, KEEP POSITIVE. LAFF WHEN YOU CAN. IT ALL HELPS.![]()
HOLLY.....THANK FOR YOU FOR THE HEADS UP ABOUT BJ'S STRANGE MAN IN BED. OF COURSE WE KNEW IT MUST BE SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
TRISH......YIKES, SOUNDS LIKE A BAD STORM WITH FALLEN TREES EVERYWHERE. GLAD YOU DID NOT GET DAMAGE AT YOUR PLACE. DID YOU GET SNOW OR JUST WINDS?
TODAY THEY ARE HAVING A PIE DESSERT IN OUR COMMON ROOM AT ONE. PECAN, PUMPKIN, APPLE , KEY LIME AND BOSTON CREAM. ALSO COOKIES. ME, I HAVE A SLIGHT EAR ACHE AND DO NOT FEEL LIKE GOING. I AM NOT INTO THE SWEETS ANYWAY SO ITS OK. I WILL REST INSTEAD.
I AM SUPPOSED TO MAKE SOME BUNDIES AND VEGGIE BEEF SOUP TODAY BUT MAY JUST DO THE SOUP. ITS EASIER THAN MAKING BUNDIES WHICH CAN BE TEDIOUS. I WILL SAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER DAY.
MY SON SHOPS FOR ME TOMORROW. HE CAN PICK UP THE LAST OF THE INGREDIENTS FOR MY XMAS GOODIES. THERE ARE A FEW THINGS I DID NOT GET FROM TARGET. IF OUR STORE IS OUT, I WILL JUST NOT MAKE THOSE PARTICULAR GOODIES THIS YEAR.
MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR, SHARON, BROUGHT ME A FROZEN 7-LB TURKEY BREAST YESTERDAY. IT CAN'T FIT INTO MY FREEZER SO I WILL ROAST IT THIS WEEK AFTER IT DEFROSTS IN THE FRIDGE. ANOTHER GOOD MEAL TO SHARE WITH OTHERS.
WISHING YOU A GREAT SHOPPING DAY SINCE ITS BLACK FRIDAY. I NEVER SHOP ON THIS DAY AND NEVER DID EVEN BACK IN THE DAY BEFORE ONLINE SHOPPING. I NEVER WANTED TO FIGHT THE CROWDS. MY GIFTS THESE DAYS ARE CASH ANYWAY. THE YOUNGER FOLKS WERE BRINGING BACK THEIR GIFTS OR NEEDING RECEIPTS TO RETURN THEM SINCE MY IDEAS AND THEIRS DIFFER SO MUCH. EASIER FOR CASH AND WE ARE ALL MUCH HAPPIER.
I GUESS I WILL TAKE DOWN MY THANKSGIVING WALLHANGINGS AND SET OUT THE XMAS ONES TODAY.
OH, I FORGOT TO TELL YOU. YESTERDAY I ENJOYED A MARATHON OF HUDSON AND REX. REX IS A SMART POLICE DOG AND I LOVE THE SERIES. JOHN REARDON IN THE LEAD IS SOMETHING GOOD TO LOOK AT, TOO. ITS ON UPTV HERE. IT KEPT ME HAPPY ALL DAY LONG.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S ![]()

It is cold here in the South....only 47 for the high today, brrr!! I will be staying home.
Diane, so sorry you have been ill but glad you are on the recovery road!
Trish, was it a tornado or just high winds? I am working on a hummingbird puzzle. I have the 1,000 pc in my sewing room that I have neglected, lol. It's an abstract dog that I love.
I got my new drug prescription card in the mail this week. I went with Wellcare. I need to register and choose the pharmacy I want to use. They recommend a "preferred" pharmacy, which I think is mail order only...not sure about that yet, but it says you save money. I'm used to my local Walmart pharmacy and they deliver, so I don't know what I will choose!
I hope your turkey was tender and your stuffing moist! Greg came and we enjoyed each other's company, no big meal. It was different for sure, but a pleasant day. I did miss the dressing, but it was better I never had it to eat, lol. ![]()
I need to start wearing socks when it's this cold! I just cranked up the heat to 75.
I am off to do my Black Friday shopping from my recliner after I have lunch. Couldn't be any easier and not fighting the crowd.

Good morning, didn't get here yesterday but thought of all of you. When we got home last evening, I was too tired to think about getting on my computer.
So... I just typed the recipe for the chicken soup. As has happened before, I don't know exactly what I'm doing and I don't think it ended up where it should be.
Trish, you've fixed this before so will you please do that again, if it's in the wrong place? thanks...![]()
We had a nice time at Bill and ML's. Danny came, late as usual, but we just waited for him because he was in touch, with his tale of woe (as usual)!
And, after we were through eating, Emmy showed up. We all caught up with one another and reminisced, as usual!
Today, is a softly sunny, chilly day. Howard is in the garage putting the plow on his pickup because we are supposed to be majorly in for "it", as in "up to 13 in. of snow" over the next two days. Oh, no!
If it happens, it will be the 2nd major snow of the season already, which is rather unusual. Putting the plow on is no minor job and he dreads it, and puts it off.
But, not today. And I really can't help although I did offer.
Diane, I've been wondering about you...Sorry you've been sick but hope you had a great day with your son and the lovely dog.

We didn't have many leftovers to share so I guess it'll be the leftover chili for supper, tonight.
Have a wonderful rest of the day.

Whew! I think I wobbled on in here from the kitchen! We had so much food to eat! Abby now works at a bakery and she brought some pumpkin cream donuts. They were divine! Just a slight taste of pumpkin and so light! We also had all the pies I mentioned the other day as well as the key lime bars, which were also a hit. We had a wonderful time and it has been a while since both of our sons and their families were all together to eat for Thanksgiving. We did have some left overs, but Anthony and Aaron took some home, so Dean and I just have a few today. We had a big lunch with it. I have the turkey carcass in the Instant pot making turkey broth. Amelia wants turkey vegetable soup, so I will do that Monday or Tuesday. The turkey was so big I had to do the Instant pot in two batches. I hope I can find enough plastic container to store the broth. I am so thankful for such a lovely holiday.
The day started out with our electricity out!
I had set my alarm for 6:30 a.m. and was in bed thinking it should have gone off. I looked over and it was not on. My stomach dropped as I knew the electric was out. We had had terrible winds during the night and we have lots and lots of trees around us. Sure enough, a tree was down. I did get a message from First Energy saying the estimated restore time was 7 a.m. Then one saying 9:00 a.m. . Then one saying 11:00 a.m.
I called everybody to tell them of the delay in eating time as were were going to eat at 1 p.m. Dean went to the trouble of getting out the generator and we hooked up the stove so I could put the turkey in around 9 a.m. Thankfully the power came back on at 10, so all was ok. I do admire those workers as they get the job done in the most terrible circumstances. Blowing snow and windy and a temp of 21 degrees ![]()
Today has been just relax and watch some TV. We got most of the extra dishes put away as well as the tables and chairs. Dean went to help Emmily put up her parent's decorations as they are not able to do it.
Sending warm thoughts and prayers to you all, my friends. I am thankful for you all.

OMG CHERYL sounds like here, we didn't lose power and No SANDRA no snow here, just big winds, like a cyclone, incredible, happened again today, we were at rising and the big bins in the school were flying AND our mats and water bottles, we got a bit of extra exercise chasing them ![]()
I am glad you all had a nice time yesterday, regardless of what you did (or didn't
) do.
I think leftovers will the order of the day for many of you!
INDY ouch on the snow, that is a lot so early, we have had early heat though, so not really surprised. Of course I can check the recipe, I think it's fine though. And if it's the one you told about THANK YOU!
I am not cooking tonight, they can do "catch and kill" or find what you can in the fridge
I'm sure we have plenty, I was stressing a little about my sourdough starter, I overfed it and it didn't look good yesterday, a day of rest and it's good to go again, a bit like some of you might be feeling LOL
I made a big batch of our Anzac biscuits this week, I have also been stressing a little about them, last 2 times they weren't right, I have found the problem and they are all good again.
Plus my jam is good, my labels printed and now I just need t make another batch of chutney, then all my "other " gifts are ready. I like to give the coaches a little something, as well as my sewing group. Plus the boys want jam and chutney as well, they tried it and voted YES LOL
It's getting warm again, going to be pretty hot again this week, it was cool enough this morning just a tough workout, I can usually pick the coach who set the program and I was right today.
We had a lovely birthday celebration yesterday, simple but the cake was nice, then Dean came to dinner last night with us. We were home early, but I made sure he was OK and the house checked before I left, M & G are away again this week end, and will be next too. So he'll prob come with us next week as well, John was out last night with friends.
Nothing else happening here, just waiting for the next rounds of wind. They have been so strong, I didn't even hang out the washing, it would have been in the next suburb, I brought the portable line indoors.

INDY your post was exactly where it should be, looks good, I just adjusted the size of the print ![]()

Good morning. Slept in a bit today. In the low 20’s now. DH is still sleeping. 😳
Unusual for him, but it’s nice to have my first cup of coffee alone.
I’ve made some progress on my BOM this week. I bought it years ago but only made the first one. I’m determined to get all the blocks done by mid January. lol.
Leftovers tonight. We rarely have the leftovers the next night, makes them seem less like leftovers.

We have a nice looking frost this morning. It's made it up to 32 degrees now, but only 51 for the high. These are the normal temps for this time of the year.
I made vegetable beef soup last night while cleaning up the kitchen. My lunch is ready for me. I love cornbread with veggie soup, but I won't be having any.
Cheryl, glad your power came back on! Those pumpkin donuts sound delicious!
I ordered my own Christmas present this morning. I got the Midea Flexify air fryer. It's a Cyber Monday deal on Amazon. I like it because its compact and will hold more veggies. It will stay on the counter. Greg asked for my wishlist but I never told him to get me this because he's got this Japan trip coming up in February. Logan said he would take my Ninja air fryer.
What are your thoughts on not exchanging Christmas gifts? Gary said he isn't exchanging gifts this year (for the first time.) Greg and I were both surprised. He asked me what to do and I told him do what's in your heart, so we are buying gifts.
Judy, I would love to see a big snow. I haven't seen one since I was in high school. I wouldn't want to shovel it though, lol! ![]()

MY HEARING IS GETTING WORSE. I AM GOING TO TAKE AN ONLINE LIP READING CLASS STARTING ON MONDAY. SIGN LANGUAGE WILL NO HELP UNLESS YOU ARE SPEAKING TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO IS DOING SIGN AND HEARING PEOPLE DON'T USE IT. SO LIP READING IT IS.
TODAY MY SON IS SHOPPING FOR ME. I HOPE HE CAN GET ALL THE THINGS ON MY LIST SO I CAN START MAKING GOODIES EARLY NEXT MONTH.
I MADE VEGGIE BEEF SOUP LAST NITE BUT NO BUNDIES. I DOZED OFF AND WHEN I WOKE I DID NOT FEEL LIKE GOING THRU ALL THE STEPS FOR BUNDIES. BUT I COULD STILL MAKE THE SOUP. HIS MIL IS STAYING WITH THEM FOR AWHILE SINCE SHE HAD SOME SURGERY ON FRIDAY. SHE LIVES WAY UP NORTH SO NEEDED A PLACE TO STAY. THAT MEANS THE FIL, TOO. I AM SENDING MOST OF MY SOUP HOME WITH HIM TODAY. HE CAN HAVE A BOWL FOR LUNCH THEN OFF IT ALL GOES TO HIS HOUSE. I STILL HAVE SOME SPAG AND MEATBALLS LEFT SO I AM OK FOR FOOD.
MY NEIGHBOR WHO BROKE HIS HIP IS COMING HOME TODAY. IT WILL BE NICE TO SEE HIM BACK. I LEFT A GET WELL CARD UNDER HIS DOOR. I HOPE HE HEALS QUICKLY.
NOTHING MORE TO REPORT. I AM DOING MY USUAL SATURDAY CHORES AND THEN I AM GOING TO TRY TO CATCH UP ON MY HUDSON AND REX PROGRAM. THEY HAD A 3-DAY MARATHON AND MANY OF THEM I NEVER SAW BEFORE. LOVE IT BUT IT MAKES FOR A LAZY DAY.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S ![]()

Happy Birthday Cheryl, I hope it was a good one!
Devonne, about gifts- we stopped exchanging with our brothers and sisters in law years ago, because it was hard to think of things. And the neices, nephews, and great neices and nephews, we stopped giving when they hit 21, same with birthdays. As for kids, kids in law, and grands, I’ll never stop.
I got the pieces cut for 4 more pillowcases, waiting to hear back from Manda how many she needs.
It’s cold here, 39 and sunny right now. We should finish up all the leftovers tonight.
Heather and Jules went Black Friday shopping. I give Jules money every year to buy her gifts from me, then Heather wraps them. I gave money to Eddie to do the same, but I think they decided Jules would shop for him. Heather texted me pix of what I bought Jules, things I’d never think of.
