GOOD MORNING!
ONE COMMENT I REMEMBERED I WANTED TO MAKE WAS SO FAR, KNOCK ON WOOD I HAVE NOT HAD PROBLEMS WITH GREAT VALUE CHEESE.
FORGOT OTHER ONE. I AM STARTING TO WORRY ABOUT MY MEMORY.
OCTOBER SEEMS TO BE GOING QUICKLY. STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED PUTTING OUT SOME FALL THINGS. NEED TO DIG OUT A FEW THINGS. DECLUTTERING IS GOING SLOWLY.
THINKING OF EVERYONE. PRAYERS.................

Good Sunday morning to you all!
Strings, I am with you on the lack of fall decorations. I put out two pumpkins, a witch for Halloween, and called it done. I was going to go get some corn stalks, but did not, so I left my scarecrows in the basement. I usually get a couple of mums, but my geraniums and petunias still look so nice that I did not want to replace them. I still have mu SPRING wreath on the front door.
I am not a decorator, not do I really care about it.
Supposed to rain all day, but as of noon, it has not started yet.

Good Morning to everyone!! It is raining slightly this morning and quite windy. I have no plans for the day. Tracy is still sleeping, so she must have had a hard night. Well, she just got up, is getting us some juice. Then I'll head to the shower. Well, since I have no plans, will sign off, wishing you all a wonderful day, BJ.

MALAPROPS.....
1. HIS MOTHER GOT IT ALL ON FILM FOR PROSPERITY.
2. THE MARRIAGE WAS CONSUMMATED AT THE ALTAR.
RAIN IS EXPECTED ALL DAY TOMORROW. HOORAY.
MY SON CAME EARLY TODAY. HE BROUGHT ME 2 DINING ROOM CHAIRS SO I CAN TOSS OUT THE 2 WOBBLY ONES. I WAS GETTING ANTSY ABOUT THOSE 2. ANYWAY, NOW ITS SAFE TO SIT IN MY HOUSE. ![]()
WHEN I CAME TO THANKSGIVING, WE ALWAYS HAD A STUFFED TURKEY EVERY YEAR WHETHER WE STAYED HOME OR WENT ELSEWHERE. WE LIKED THE LEFTOVERS SO ENJOYED ALWAYS HAVING OUR TURKEY. NOWADAYS I MAKE WHATEVER APPEALS TO ME THAT DAY. IT MAY BE TURKEY BREAST, OR A SMALL STUFFED CHICKEN, OR A PORK ROAST.
I GOT A FEW CHORES DONE EARLY THIS MORNING. MY SON WAS COMING OVER AT 9 A.M.SO WHEN I WOKE AT 5-ISH I COULD NOT GO BACK TO SLEEP. I GUESS I MIGHT NAP THIS AFTERNOON. I WILL GET IN MY LAPS. I HAVE SORTED MY MEATS (ONLY GOT PORK CHOPS THIS WEEK) AND WILL TAKE OUT MY TRASH SOON. MY SON TOSSED THE WOBBLY CHAIRS FOR ME WHEN HE WENT HOME WITH HOMEMADE CHICKEN SOUP AND ITALIAN SANDWICHES FOR LATER.
HE PASSED HIS REAL ESTATE LICENSING TESTS YESTERDAY SO HE HAS A FALL-BACK JOB FOR WHEN HE RETIRES OR EVEN NOW IF HE GETS A HOUSE TO SELL. THE MARKET IS A BIT LEAN RIGHT NOW BUT AT LEAST HE'S READY WHEN THE MARKET IMPROVES. IN FACT, HIS WIFE SOLD A HOUSE YESTERDAY. SHE'S ALREADY INTO REAL ESTATE.
I REPORT THAT OUR PEGGY IS RECUPERATING VERY WELL AND FEELS VERY GOOD. ALWAYS NICE TO HEAR. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR OUR PEGGY.
THAT'S IT FROM MY DESK LADIES. NOT MUCH TO REPORT. I WILL WATCH TV AND WORK THE JIGSAW PUZZLE TO GET IT DONE BEFORE WE NEED THE TABLE FREED UP FOR THE POTLUCK DINNER ON FRIDAY. AND I THINK THAT NAP WILL COME IN HANDY THIS AFTERNOON.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S![]()

A funny (well not at the time) Thanksgiving dine story. I may have told you all this before but my DD just reminded me of it.
I decided one year to make individual Cornish hens instead of a turkey. Ravioli appetizer first. Then I brought out the Cornish hens. I was very pleased with the the reaction UNTIL my DD shrieked… “Baby turkeys? You killed baby turkeys?”
😱. Needless to say the reaction was what you’d expect. Hardly anyone ate the hens. DD just yowled and cried…. I never deviated from Turkey on Thanksgiving again!

We are packing for our trip to Virginia, leaving on Tues. morning. That is if Howard can get the banking stuff straightened out. Our credit union went to a totally different system two weeks ago and he's been there 4 or 5 times since they do not answer any phone calls at the present. Last time he was there, H. overheard a customer who had several late charges due to their inefficiency or what ever you call it. Right now, H. is locked out of our account and since there's no way to call, he has to go in, again, in the morning...
Plus, due to a suspicious looking "thing" on his back, maybe to the doctor if he can get an appt. My diagnosis is an infected seb. keratosis, but since I don't have my medical license...well, you know...
And he either has to get a sample of his current inhaler or an Rx for it, which means a trip to W-M. This is from another doc, his pulmonologist. So, hopefully, we'll get out of here on Tuesday morning. ![]()
It's very fallish here today--rainy, chilly, cloudy, leaves falling with each wind and rain gust. It's been very summerish until this. Time for it, though, so I'm not complaining, only commenting.
I have one fall dec. out, my large spider web that just stands between the TV and the loveseat. Traipsing up and down the basement stairs is required for most decorating and that's hard for me, now. And Howard can't find a blooming thing if I send him. Plus he's totally not interested in any decorating.
I don't know if I'm going to take my laptop with me so if you don't hear from me, that's why. I sort of like to get away from the aggravating electronics and devises, but the only thing is the slew of e-mails when I get home.
Going to call ML. She said she wants to come over either today or tomorrow and I haven't heard from her, yet. Have a good afternoon and evening and sweet dreams.![]()

I woke up at 3 a.m. with a rapid heart rate, in the 120’s. It didn’t feel like afib, but I got up and took a metoprolol, as the cardiologist had said to. So I needed a nap this afternoon.
We went to Longhorn for lunch with F and C. They have a lemon grilled chicken breast that C, Ralph and I got. So good, and I brought half home. For fun, we were looking at the dessert menu. Chocolate stampede is 2400 calories, yikes! We did not get it, LOL.
Wow, Judy, how annoying about the credit union! I hope you get to leave as planned.
Jamet, I love it! Baby turkeys for dinner!
It hit 75 today! Some chance of rain tonight.

BJ enjoy your juice AND your visit with Tracy!
SANDRA so good other that Peggy is doing well, and great news about the chairs, he is such a good guy, you better keep him LOL Hopefully you get a nap today (((hugs)))
HOLLY cute strips, they will look great going down the stairs.
JANET too funny, I don't remember you telling that before, I guess it's the same as when we had a pet lamb LOL I don't think I ate lamb then either.
INDY frustrating about the banking, I do hope you can get it sorted, sounds like someone got the new system online too quickly. We have a great online system now with our major bank, we do have another one we keep for emergencies, the App is great and they monitor very well for fraudulent transactions, especially when we are overseas. I got a message once to ask if it was us using a bank as I hadn't said I would be in that country. They locked the account till I messaged them back, then unlocked it for me, it was late Sat night in Australia, so I was pretty happy with the service.
Enjoy your trip away (((hugs)))
CHERYL I admire you all for decorating at all, I don't except for Christmas, our neighbours have their house all it up for Diwali, it looks really pretty, but WOW think you could see it for miles, I hope the lights go out earlier than they did last night, still on at midnight. It's pretty bright outside with them on!
OOPS, Just got a call from my Dr, he has to leave early today and I had an appointment, but just to get my Prolia injection prescription, and he usually checks my BP etc. So they'll do the scripts for me, and when I go to get the injection I will do my BP AND get my "fit to drive" test. At least that will all be done before we go away on 13th Nov
Sounds like you are all gearing up for both Halloween and Thanksgiving. WE already have tons of Christmas things out in stores, as well as Halloween. I have a readers group I belong to and one was asking about the rest of the poem/rhyme for Halloween, but she meant Guy Fawkes, which is Nov 5. We used to chant it when I was little,
"Remember, remember the 5th of November, g** powder, treason and plots" - I think that's how it went.
I finished my Bridgerton puzzle Julie lent me, she is doing my Japanese one, she messaged me last night with a picture of it, not a lot done, the message was, have I told you how much I hate you ?? LOL It's a really hard one, all cherry blossom and blue mountain with snow on top, so basically all blue and pink and white.
The Mr is going to be in pretty bad shape when he gets home today, he has played (in the heat) for 3 solid days, today is the 4th, but he is pretty chuffed with himself, he has won all games and now he and his partner are in the finals. Today is another all day comp, but he tells me not as tough. They hope to win the prize money for this one, I doubt it LOL Lots of the good bowlers go for the money comps. The one he just won are for prestige.
He has an appt with our Dr to have a skin cancer removed, Leo needs a 1/2 hour appointment to do it. I'm really annoyed, we paid a lot of money for a ( W says good ) specialist to check him for skin cancers, and he didn't pick up this one that needs cutting. I've been pleading with him to change from this so called specialist surgeon, he isn't as thorough as the old one he had, so I now have Megan on the case, she can nag better than me LOL
I have now got the afternoon free after yoga, I need to get my blocks prepped for my Alice quilt. So will start that now the washing machine is running with sheets, so I can get set up before that finishes. I started cleaning yesterday seeing he was out all day anyway.
We had takeaway pizza last night, our Dominos has new owners, and we tried them a couple months ago, they were actually quite good NOT as good as the Italian ones, but nice, sorry HOLLY - know you like the thick ones - I don't like the thick crust ones, I order thin and crispy, and these we just right.

Well, I have one good report: I got an appt. with our GP for the thing on Howard's back at 1:45 which means I can go with him and find out for myself. Actually, he's pretty good when he goes alone to tell all and remember what the doc said, but..."Mommy" wants to go this time.
Trish, when Warwick retired and found bowls for a hobby, who'd ever thought it would turn into such a major part of his life and help keep him from being bored, like this? But, like anything, sometimes it might be a bit too much for you, it seems. Since daughters have a different relationship than wives, and since Megan is no shrinking violet, I can see how she could have a bit more influence on her dad in the right places. ![]()
QB, good for Matt, looking ahead for his future, in real estate. And he and his wife will have a common interest. It's what my very close friend, Cheryl, did for 35 years. I got to hear all the tales and once she took me thru her listing of a spectacular Victorian home in town, just so I could see the gorgeous woodwork. Plus she made a lot of money... ![]()
Janet, cute story. I just saw a story about bird flu decimating the turkey flocks and that there may be a serious shortage this year. So, for the ones of us here that know for sure they want one, we might consider buying early. We, ML and I found out that the former Strongbow Turkey Inn owners that went out of business a few years ago
, make and sell their famous turkey pot pies out of their home kitchen. We are considering that for Thankgiving since we no longer do the big meal.
Well, Howard is up and out the door to the credit union. I've made two other phone calls and have one more to inform our other bank we'll be out of town, and we are mostly packed. Do I want to go? NO Do we need to? YES Will I settle down and go with the flow? I plan to and do, of course want to see the family and the four dogs...

1. OLD AGE USED TO BE IN MY HEAD, BUT NOW ITS IN MY JOINTS TOO.
2. DOING NOTHING IS VERY HARD TO DO......YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU'RE FINISHED.
WE ARE GETTING OUR MUCH NEEDED RAIN.
IT SEEMS TO BE PLAYING HAVOC WITH THE AIR WAVES. MY MODEM HAS BEEN BLINKING LIGHTS FOR THIS AND THAT. MY PUTER WOULD NOT OPEN. HAD TO TURN IT OFF AND START IT AGAIN. NOW ITS DOING OK.
I AM CHARGING MY PHONE JUST IN CASE OF POWER OUTAGES. YOU KNOW HOW I'VE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AREA LOSING POWER IF A SQUIRREL SNEEZED AT A POWER LINE.
ITS RAINING AND I LOVE IT. I HOPE IT RAINS ALL DAY SO THE FORESTS CAN GET RECHARGED WITH MOISTURE. THEY SURE NEED IT AROUND HERE.
I SKETCHED 3 MORE SNOOPY SCENES. ONE IS FOR XMAS. I AM LOVING THIS LITTLE DOG. I HOPE TO GET WORKING ON HIM AGAIN SOON. I ALSO LOOKED UP SOME SNOOPY SAYINGS SO I CAN ADD ONE OR TWO TO FUTURE WHS.
JUDY........I HOPE HUBBY GETS THE CREDIT UNION AND YOU GET YOUR BANKS IN ORDER. ITS TOUGH WHEN THERE ARE SNAGS LIKE THIS.
HOLLY......SORRY ABOUT THE RAPID HEART BEATS. I GET THAT AND TAKE CARVEDILOL TO SLOW MINE DOWN. DOC SAYS THERE IS A PACEMAKER IN MY FUTURE BUT NOT YET.
I HOPE WE DON'T LOSE POWER. I WANT O MAKE A PORK CHOP BAKE WITH TATERS AND CARROTS FOR SUPPER TONITE.
FOR NOW I AM FINISHING MY CHILI FOR LUNCH. DID MY LAPS SO THOSE ARE OUT OF THE WAY. WHEN ITS GLOOMY OUT I REALLY DON'T LIKE TO SEW AT MY MACHINE. I GUESS CASPER WILL WAIT ANOTHER DAY.
STAY SAFE EVERYONE. HUGS, QB S ![]()

Trish, not me that likes the deep dish pizza, I like regular or thin crust.
I finished the last 3 strips today! And we hung them up with binder clips to get a picture, which I just put on my blog. The strips aren’t all straight due to the binder clips, and the spacing will be better when it goes to =26pxits forever home at Manda’s. I named it Rainbow Connection, as in the Muppets. I’m happy with how it turned out, not bad for all scraps, and yardage from my stash.
I had a routine appointment with my NP, she’s happy with my labs and weight loss. (35 pounds as of today).
We got a little rain overnight, and it’s only 62 out. Time changes in 2 weeks. My dogwood leaves are a gorgeous red.
Dinner is leftovers from Longhorn.

Home from the doc. It is an infected seb. keratosis on Howard's back to be treated with Bacitracin oint. and an Rx for Cefalexin. So another stop at W-M for those and bandaids.
Before W-M, I got some sliders from White Castle for lunch. Howard won't eat them, so IF it's the appropriate timing, since we go right by it between the doc's office and W-M, I treat myself.
Holly, that turned out so nice and what a unique idea. We have a perfect blank stairwall where that would work, but Howard is making noises about installing a stair lift so, I'll give up any idea of making one.
Need to go and carry on.

1. I'VE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT MY MEMORY IS LIKE AN ETCH-A-SKETCH. I SHAKE MY HEAD AND FORGET EVERYTHING.
2. TODAY'S PLAN: DO NOTHING. AND IF I FINISH EARLY.....NAP.
ITS A GORGEOUS FALL DAY. SUN SHINING, BRIGHT BLUE SKY. LOVE IT. TEMPS IN THE 60S. THE RAIN WE GOT YESTERDAY WAS WONDERFUL. I AM THANKFUL TO MOTHER NATURE FOR THE GIFT.
HOLLY.......HOORAY FOR YOU LOSING 35 LBS. I AM AGAIN AT THE 22 LB MARK WHICH IS GOOD BECAUSE I LOST ONE OF THE LBS I GAINED FROM CHEATING WITH SWEETS THE WEEKEND.
MY DAU AND GDDAU ARE VISITING TODAY. SHE HAS A FEW THINGS I SET ASIDE FOR HER AND A COUPLE OF THINGS I BOUGHT FOR HER THAT SHE CAN USE IN THE HOUSE.....LIKE THE OVEN SCRAPER AND THE HAIR STRAINER FOR THE SHOWER. I BOUGHT TWO AT THE TIME SO CAN GIVE ONE AWAY. AND OF COURSE, SOME FARMER'S CHEESE.
TODAY I WENT TO COFFEE MORNING JUST TO CHECK IN AND HEAR THE NEWS. I DON'T EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING. I AM VERY GOOD ABOUT THAT. I ALSO PUT IN THE LAST PIECE OF THE JIGSAW PUZZLE SO I CAN BOX IT AND CLEAR THE TABLE FOR OUR POTLUCK ON FRIDAY. UNFORTUNATELY, 1 OF THE PCS IS MISSING. I WILL MARK IT ON THE BOX NOTING THE SPOT WHERE THE PIECE IS MISSING. IT WAS A PUZZLE FROM GOODWILL'S, GIVEN TO THE GROUP SO CAN'T GET THE PIECE.
I MADE PORK CHOPS WITH FROZEN FRIES LAST NITE. I FELL ASLEEP WATCHING TV BEFORE SUPPER SO COULD NOT MAKE THE ROASTED POTATOES AS I HAD PLANNED. BUT THE CHOPS WERE GREAT IN THE TOASTER OVEN AND THE FRIES.....I NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT FRIES. I HAVE ENOUGH FOR TODAY AS WELL.
I THINK I WILL MAKE UP SOME ITALIAN SANDWICHES FOR THE GIRLS TODAY. HOMEMADE ONES ARE EXTRA FULL. TRIPLE MEAT AND CHEESE.
ALSO, ON THE SUBJECT OF PIZZA, I DON'T GO FOR DEEP-DISH OR THIN. I LIKE A REGULAR AMOUNT OF DOUGH BUT NOT TOO MUCH. MAKING MY OWN I CAN DO AS I LIKE.
THAT'S IT LADIES. THINGS TO DO BEFORE COMPANY ARRIVES. STAY SAFE. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S ![]()

Good Morning to everyone!! It looks like the sun is trying to break through. The leaves are trying. It is the beginning of sunshine. Wishing you all a wonderful day, BJ.

It went down into the 40’s last night! Now it’s 65 and sunny.
Sandra, enjoy your company! 22 pounds down is nothing to sneeze at!
I got up, did my PT, and wrote out a few checks. If the fee for paying online is more than $2, I write a check.
We had frozen a lot of the last pizza delivery, so we each had a slice of sausage pizza for lunch. So good!
I’m reading “The Book Club for Troublesome Women” by Marie Bostwick. It takes place in 1963 in a new subdivision outside of DC, and follows the stories of 4 women. It’s interesting, the way the times were different. One woman wanted to become a veterinarian, but none of her college professors would write her a recommendation because she would be taking the space of a man in the vet school. The wives got allowances to food shop and such. So far, I’d recommend it. I’ve written others by her, she did some on knitting groups.

Good day all.
It is chilly, with a few scattered showers. Dean wanted to get the grass cut but looks like today will not be that day. The leaves are finally getting some very pretty colors; red, yellow, orange so pretty.
I made some rigatoni and a simple salad for supper. The rigatoni will last us for a few days for lunch and or dinner. Dean will eat it till it is gone, but I am done with it after one left over lunch or supper.
Judy, I, too, heard about a turkey "shortage" this year and I have not seen many in the stores yet. Usually by this time the freezers are full of them. I did see some turkey breasts at Aldi and bought one of those a couple of weeks ago.
Nothing else to say, so will "talk" to you all later.

Sandra, I laughed out loud at the Etch A Sketch joke!
Holly, I will see if my library has that Marie Bostwick book. I have read some of her book and liked them so this sounds promising. I'm always open to suggestions for good books. I especially like to find a good series. I really like the Mitford books by Jan Karon and Jennifer Chiaverinni's Elm Creek Quilters series.
Is it the end of the week yet? I have been so busy yesterday and today that I feel like it should be Friday already. Today started much earlier than usual with an 8:00 doctor appointment that was 45 minutes away. Then I had quilt guild meeting and PT. By the time I got home at 3:30 I was worn out. Only one more PT session, I still have just a tiny bit of pain from the shoulder tendonitis but not enough to keep me from being able to do whatever I want.
My son and all of his kids/grandkids are going on vacation together to Gatlinburg in a few weeks. I would love to go with them and know that they would include me but I wouldn't be able to keep up with them. The only thing I could think of to sort of be included was to send them some packages with things they could use on the drive there and back. I got mostly car snacks, wet wipes, small notebooks that can be used as travel journals, and activity books for the little girls. It was fun to try to think of things they would like.
