Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Good Morning to everyone!!  It is a beautiful day here.  Sun is shining brightly, so nice.  But, not a leaf is moving, lots of squirrels moving around.  Sharon is scheduled to do the windows today, so that's nice.
I really don't have a thing to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Wow, Carol, what a story!

It’s so humid again today, 82% at the moment, that we kicked on the AC. Sewing should not make you sweat! Rain predicted every day thru next Wednesday!

I just finished Manda’s two tablerunners, I’d already done her coasters. We’ll mail them tomorrow after PT.

The new seasons of TV are starting! Law and Order and SVU are new tonight.

Dinner will be leftovers, we have them from a couple of places.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Oh, Carol, what a tale about the phone!  I would never have guessed that you would have gotten it back.

Sun is finally shining and the rain has stopped.  I am glad because the humidity is high and Dean and I are feeling the stiff joints from it.  I had a difficult time getting out of bed this morning.

Holly, I am glad the new fall season is staring too.  I don't watch any movies and I do not have anything on Netflix or Hula that I like, so I watch old re-runs.  I do like some of the new regular TV shows, so will wait for them.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES.....
1.  TOWN TO DROP SCHOOL BUS WHEN OVERPASS IS READY.
2.  FARMER BILL DIES IN HOUSE.

WE FINALLY GOT OUR RAIN.  A BIT YESTERDAY AND MORE ALL DAY TODAY SO FAR.  LOVE IT AND I'M SURE THE FORESTS AND CREEKS LOVE IT TOO.

SORRY I AM LATE LADIES, BUT I WOKE AT 6 AND STARTED TO MAKE MY PLANS FOR MY CLOSET AND MY SEWING/BEDROOM.  LOTS TO DO.  I TOOK IT SLOW AND RESTED NOW AND THEN .  I AM SOOO POOPED RIGHT NOW SINCE I STILL WAS A NIGHT OWL LAST NITE. I JUST COULD NOT SLEEP THIS MORNING THINKING OF ALL I WANTED TO DO TODAY.
MOSTLY DONE BUT NEED TO RE-ARRANGE THINGS IN MY BEDROOM/SEWING ROOM NOW.  EVEN MY FOOD STORAGE IS INVENTORIED.
I GOT RID OF A FEW THINGS ON OUR FREE TABLE LIKE MY CHENILLS-MAKING SUPPLIES AND MACHINE QUILTING HOLDERS LIKE BICYLCE CLIPS AND THE FLAT THINGIES. I HAVE SOME THINGS SET ASIDE LIKE GLUE g** AND LOTS OF GLUE STICKS AND HATS AND SCARVES AND SWEATERS ASIDE FOR MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUS AND BOOKS, TOO.
I ACTUALLY KEPT THE SPARE IRON I WAS GONG TO GIVE AWAY BECAUSE OF MY QUILTER BUDDIES AT BINGO.  THEY ALL HAVE A SPARE.  ONE KEEPS HERS IN HER SEWING ROOM JUST TO PRESS THE SMALL PIECES BEFORE SHE SEWS THEM ON.  A GOOD IDEA.  I WILL SET UP A SPACE TO DO THAT, TOO.
I LOST 75 CENTS AT BINGO LAST NITE BUT STILL HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THE GALS.  WE ARE A THOUGHTFUL GROUP AND CARE ABOUT ONE ANOTHER SO WE SHARE NEWS.
MY RENT GOES UP $13 IN NOV. FOR THE NEXT YEAR.  THE MEDICAL BILLS I HAD WERE NOT ENOUGH TO BRING IT DOWN.  WHICH TO ME IS A GOOD THING.  THAT MEANT PAYOUTS FROM MY OWN POCKET WEREN'T UNBEARABLE TO HANDLE.
I HAD A QUICK P.B. SANDWICH FOR MY LATE LUNCH AND NEED TO BAKE A CHICKEN BREAST SO THAT WITH SOME COTTAGE CHEESE IS MY PLAN FOR SUPPER TONITE.  I CAN'T HANDLE COOKING A BIG MEAL RIGHT NOW.
THAT'S IT FROM ME TODAY LADIES.  STAY SAFE.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Carol, wow, what an ordeal with your phone! Glad you got it back.

I didn't know there were two DA movies, but I read the reason why.

Marylou, hope your shoulder continues to improve.

Rain moved in yesterday and my patio project is on hold. I needed one more tube of caulk and ordered it from Amazon.

I'm going to straighten up the fridge later before trash service comes in the am. I buy so much produce, I don't have enough room for all of it; a lot of different cheeses too.

Cheryl, sorry Aaron is sick. It's good to see you posting more!

I was disappointed in Sullivan's Crossing on Netflix. Why was I surprised that it would end with more episodes coming next year, lol?  I'm watching Sweet Magnolias again because I forgot how it ended.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

I think I'm free of cooking supper, tonight.  We ate a late lunch at Chick F. A.  and added waffle fries to eat with our sandwiches.  I do have some soup in the freezer  if HE wants anything.

We had cardio appts. this morning and both got good news that we're doing well.  The doc looked over our lab results from yesterday and all were good and in the normal ranges.  I ned to have an echocardiogram before my next appt. in April.
Afterwards, Howard picked up a couple of things at Menard's while I waiting in the car.  Then, I used my $10 Kohl's cash while he waited in the car.  I got a expensive shirt on the 70 % off rack that I really like.  Wish I could wear it as is, nicely pressed,  but will go ahead and wash it before wearing as is recommended.   Do you all do that?  It's something rather new to me.  Ignorance is bliss!

We were going to get some groceries, but I didn't sleep well last night and had had enough, so we came home, thus...what to fix for supper.

Carol, OMG!  What a tale and a trial.  Glad you got the phone back, though.  You do lots for others so it's nice that that girl and Lisa could do something for you, this time.  These phones can be a blessing and a curse, unfortunately.  Maybe that's  my 'old fogey' coming out.
(I left mine home today...which is unforgiveable to someone here.)

Have a good evening and sweet dreams.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

I agree that cell phones are a blessing and a curse. I feel “naked” if I leave mine home.but DH hardly takes his anywhere. I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize as they are usually scams, telemarketers, etc. If it’s important they will leave a voicemail.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

LOST IN THE TRANSLATION......
1.  IN A BUCHAREST HOTEL LOBBY:  THE LIFT IS BEING FIXED FOR THE NEXT DAY.  DURING THAT TIME WE REGRET THAT YOU WILL BE UNBEARABLE.
2.  IN A LEIPZIG ELEVATOR:  DO NOT ENTER THE LIFT BACKWARDS, AND ONLY WHEN LIT UP.

WE HAD ALL THAT LOVELY RAIN YETERDAY.  IT WAS WONDERFUL.  TODAY IS SUNNY AND IN THE 70S.  A LOVELY DAY.

CAROL.......THAT WAS SURE A JOURNEY WITH GETTING BACK YOUR PHONE.  BUT YOU DID GET IT SO THAT'S WHAT MATTERS.  ITS GOOD YOU HAD SOME GOOD PEOPLE TO HELP YOU.  YES, SHE DESERVES THAT REWARD.  A NEW PHONE IS OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE.

I, TOO, FEEL NAKED WITHOUT MY PHONE BUT ONLY AS AN EMERGENCY CONNECTION, IF NEEDED.....AND MY DAILY 'GOOD MORNINGS' AND CUTE MEMES TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO LET THEM KNOW I AM STILL UP AND KICKING.  I LEARNED ITS BEST TO KEEP IN TOUCH DAILY.

WELL LADIES, I WAS EXHAUSTED LAST NITE.  AFTER SUPPER I FELL ASLEEP FOR OVER AN HOUR WHILE WATCHING A RODEO ON THE COWBOY CHANNEL.  WOKE TO THE BARREL RACING, WHICH I LOVE.  FELT PRETTY GOOD, TOO.   MY BACK WAS NO LONGER ACHING NOR MY WRIST.  TO BE SAFE, I DID NOT PLAY COMPUTER SOLITAIRE AS I USUALLY DO SEVERAL GAMES EACH NITE.  I WANTED MY WRIST TO REST A BIT LONGER.
MY CLOSET IS SORTED AND ORGANIZED AND A WRITTEN PLAN IS TAPED TO THE DOOR SO I KNOW WHAT IS WHERE.  I WAS ABLE TO GET RID OF A FEW CONTAINERS AND BOXES WITH MY RE-SORT AND RE-WEEDING.  FEELS GOOD TO SEE MORE SPACE IN MY CLOSET NOW.
TODAY I WANT TO FINISH UP RE-ORGANIZING MY BEDROOM/SEWING ROOM, LIKE THE DESK DRAWERS AND THE SMALL CABINET DRAWERS I HAVE IN THERE.  I AM TAKING IT SLOW.  WILL DO MY LAPS TODAY.  MISSED THEM YESTERDAY BUT I WAS TOO BUSY TO WALK THE HALLS.  I NEVER EVEN PICKED UP A BOOK TO READ.
YESTERDAY I HAVE CHECKED INTO AND RECORDED A FEW OF THE RODEOS ON THE COWBOY CHANNEL.  I  REALLY LIKE BEST SEEING THOSE SMART HORSES DO THEIR THING.  THEY ARE SO INTELLIGENT.    THEY TRAIN FOR A JOB AND DO IT WELL.  I WISH THE ANNOUNCERS WOULD GIVE CREDIT TO THE NAME OF THE HORSE THE RIDER IS RIDING SINCE THEY DO MOST OF THE PREP WORK THAT MAKES THE RIDER A WINNER.  I NOTICE THAT MANY OF THE GALS WHO TAKE THE BLUE RIBBONS AND ARE INTERVIEWED GIVE CREDIT TO THEIR MOUNTS AND GIVE THEIR NAMES AND A BIT ABOUT THEM.  THUMBS UP TO COWGIRLS.
I DON'T HAVE TO COOK TIL SUPPER.   I HAVE SOME LEFTOVER CHICKEN I CAN EAT WITH COTTAGE CHEESE FOR LUNCH AS I HAD FOR SUPPER LAST NITE.  STEAK IS DEFROSTED SO I'M THINKING PEPPER/STEAK SUB ROLLS FOR SUPPER.  ONLY 1 THOUGH.
I AM DOING WELL ON MY WEIGHT LOSS BUT ITS SLOW GOING NOW.  I AM DOWN 18 LBS SINCE JULY 9TH.  MY DR. WILL BE SO PLEASED SO I HOPE TO HOLD THAT OR LOSE A BIT MORE BY JAN. WHEN I SEE MY CARDIO DR AGAIN.
I THINK I'VE RUN OUT OF WORDS FOR TODAY.  HUGS FOR YOU ALL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

I don't answer phone numbers that I do not recognize either.  Mostly it is Aenta (my health insurer) wanting to do a home visit with me.  I go to the dr every 3 months to monitor the prediabetes so no need for that.  One would think the medical records would show them that?

I am not ONE with my phone.  I forget it all the time and must come back for it, especially when I am going to the grocery store.  lol!  Dean and I went to get Bosco and take him to the park today for a long walk and I had to run back into the house for the phone.   Dean always has his.  When Kelli was alive, I used it often as we talked daily.  And I mean talked not messaging.  Both my sons message me often but rarely call.

Congrats to all with the weight loss wins.  It is not an easy thing to do, especially when one likes to eat.  Like Devonne, I have a very sweet tooth, so that is my downfall.  I walk several miles a week at a good pace about 3 miles an hour, watch the carbs (somehwhat ) and the scale is not being nice to me.  I really need to cut the sugar, but that is not happening yet.

Beautiful weather today and supposed to be nice all week.  I love fall, my favorite time.  We have a football game tonight.  We only go to watch the marching band since Gabriel is in it.  Tonight Amelia gets to march with the band because the 7th and 8th graders are invited to march with the high school band one time a year.  It is something she has been looking forward to doing.  Both she and Gabriel play drums.  He carries a large bass drum and she wanted to do the same.  She was warmed that it is very heavy but she insisted that she could do it.  Her instructor said they don't usually let 7th graders do it but because her big brother did, they would allow it.  Oh, that poor girl's arms and legs were covered in bruises!  She said her back ached.  Dean took a back brace for her and she said it did help, so she will wear it tonight.  I hope she gets thru it, since she has zero pain tolerance.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

CAROL my gosh, what an adventure, how lucky, your phone sure got the run around, but so good it wasn't lost/damaged for good. So nice of those who helped, and yes, it cold have been a scam, but here are good people out there (((hugs)))

SANDRA it does feel good to get everything sorted doesn't it, I felt like that when I did the bedroom AND it's still looking good, the Mr has taken to leaving his shoes out, but he'll get the message later when he gets home, not hard to put them back in the closet. I know he changes them all the time from bowls to joggers to slippers, but keep it neat Mr or you will be in trouble LOL

INDY  a free supper sounds good, we had our dinner out last night, it's nice to know that every Friday I don't even have to think about it LOL

CHERYL - wow!!! that is a lot of weight to carry, I admire those who do it. I always wonder how the pipe bands do it, they lug those things around and in all that gear as well, plus play, all that blowing, really difficult, the bruises on the body must be awful (((hugs)))

I had a day yesterday visiting my sis, got home reasonably early, school holidays started this weekend and lots seem to head out a day early, the traffic was pretty bad. Good to see her, I gave her a vey late birthday gift of Vietnamese Dong. she's a millionaire for a bit , I gave her 1.4 million dong, it's about $100AUD, looks so funny, I can't cope with that kind of money, paying 60,000 for a cup of coffee just sounds all wrong!!

I have also been working on her quilt, almost finished the blocks, I was missing some pieces, had to  have cut them properly, but was 2 short, tuns out I  had sewn 2 other bits together incorrectly, NOW I have the correct number.]
I was wanting to see the movie The Roses, I  remember it from many years ago, Kathleen Turner was in it and Danny Devito, not sure maybe Michael Douglas?? It's a remake with Olivia Coleman, but it's only screening at 1pm otherwise later tonight, the Mr is out, and Pete made me promise not to go without him, if he's gong to bowls again tomorrow I will go without him though.

Megan did her first training session yesterday, 5.45am start, said she feels muscles she didn't know she had, but is feeling pretty good. She did well for her first session.

Going to be another warm one here today, heading to mid 80s, guess our summer is almost here
I know it will be a hot one, but hoping it takes bit longer to get here LOL

CONGRATULATIONS to you all on your weight loss, every little bit helps our joints move better, and we feel better for it. Just hard keeping it off LOL

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

For the past two summers, the gas price has stayed the same at my local Shell, $2.84 a gallon. Today it came down to $2.80. I get $.05 off so I pay $2.75 a gallon. What is the price at your location?

It's raining here and bad lightning. I received a Walmart grocery order today and I had made a mistake and got Cherry Coke ZS instead of regular coke ZS. I had to make a trip to Walmart after all to exchange it.

Cheryl, I always loved the marching bands. At our last house, I could sit on the porch and hear the band practicing. We could also see the July fireworks show from our yard without getting in the heavy traffic.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

SCHOOL EXCUSES........
1.  PLEASE EXCUSE BURMA, SHE HAS BEEN SICK AND UNDER THE DOCTOR.
2.  MARYANN WAS ABSENT DEC 11-16 BECAUSE SHE HAD FEVER, SORE THROAT, HEADACHE, AND UPSET STOMACH.  HER SISTER AND BROTHER SICK, TOO.  I WASN'T BAD BUT THE FLU MUST BE GOING AROUND SCHOOL, HER FATHER EVEN GOT HOT LAST NIGHT.

A LOVELY DAY TODAY  WILL HIT THE 70S.  NEXT 2 DAYS IN THE 80S.  SUNSHINE AND A FALL BREEZE.  CAN'T BE BEAT.

WELL, LADIES, I FELL THIS MORNING.  I WAS TRYING TO MOVE A HEAVY BACKBOARD INTO MY HALLWAY AND LOST MY BALANCE AND FELL BACKWARD AND INTO A BAG OF SWEATERS FOR MY DAUGHTER.  THE BOARD, LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO BALANCE AGAINST MY DISPLAY CASE.  I LEFT MY PHONE ON THE SOFA SO NOT CLOSE.  BUT HOORAY FOR WEIGHT LOSS.  I WAS ABLE TO ROLL OVER AND GET TO MY KNEES, WHICH DID NOT GAVE IN AS THEY HAD IN THE PAST.  FROM THERE IT WAS EASY TO GRIP AND GET UP.  HOORAY FOR WEIGHT LOSS.  IF THIS HAPPENED 3 MONTHS AGO I WOULD HAVE TO STRUGGLE FOR AT LEAST 15 MINS AS I DID LAST TIME.  THEN I WAS BETWEEN THE SOFA AND OTTOMAN SO IT WAS A DOABLE SITUATION WITH TIME AND EFFORT.  THIS TIME I JUST TURNED OVER ONTO MY KNEES AND THEY DID NOT SCREAM AT ME.
I EVENTUALLY I MOVED THAT BOARD INTO THE HALLWAY ACROSS FROM MY DOORWAY AND IT NOW SHOWCASES A COUPLE OF MY HALLOWEEN WHS.  IT MGMT WANTS IT MOVED, THEY CAN TOSS IT OUT FOR ME.  SOME LADIES HAVE MENTIONED THEY WISH I COULD DISPLAY MORE OF MY WORKS SO THIS WAS A GOOD THING ALL IN ALL.

TRISH......I UNDERSTAND ABOUT THE THOUSANDS IN MONEY FOR A CUP OF COFFEE. I THINK THAT WOULD RATTLE MY MIND, AS WELL.  A GOOD IDEA AS A FUNNY GIFT THO.  GOOD FOR YOU.

TODAY I WILL MAKE A POT OF CHICKEN RICE SOUP.  A COUPLE OF LADIES ARE NOT DOING WELL HERE IN THE BUILDING.  WORRYING ABOUT 1 LESS MEAL SHOULD HELP.
TOMORROW I PLAN TO MAKE THE APPLE CAKE.  ITS EASY AND TASTY SO I LIKE MAKING IT NOW AND THEN.  SINCE I'M WATCHING MY INTAKES, I WILL SHARE THAT AS WELL.
I WAS UP EARLY AGAIN THIS MORNING.  YOU KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR MIND CAN'T SETTLE AND IS THINKING OF WHAT TO ACCOMPLISH NEXT.  FOR ME ITS MY SEWING ROOM.  THEN I CAN REALLY RELAX ONCE AGAIN.
I HOPE TO EVEN GET IN SOME SEWING AND READING TODAY.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY.   HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Sandra, yikes on the fall! And congrats on the weight loss! It ain’t easy!

Devonne, gas at my corner is $2.97. It’s the cheapest place for miles. The WaWa is always about 15 cents higher. And of course it gets pumped for us!

Cheryl, I have a habit of walking away from my phone, and that’s always when it rings or I get a text. Luckily I can answer calls on my watch, and see texts.

Not as humid today, only 67%. I have to figure out what’s for dinner, the eternal question.

Good Morning everyone!!!  Hope you all are headed  toward a nice day!!  It is pretty windy here today.  Tracy and Jamie are here, which is pretty nice.  I don't really have anything important to day, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Holly, I just told Greg about NJ and the full service stations. Do they also clean your windshield and check your oil? He was surprised they used to do all that.

Not sure if I will work on the patio today or not. I decided to use the pressure washer instead of scrubbing it the old fashioned way. My PW is electric and compact and it's easy to use. Depends on how I feel later...or today might just be a tv day, lol.

Re: ODT SUNDAY SEPT 21 ~ SAT SEPT 27

Devonne, not any more, that’s a thing of the past. Jersey and Oregon are the only states that you don’t pump your own gas

We ordered pizza delivered, the first time in months. So good! Ralph froze the leftovers for us. I did my home PT while waiting for the delivery.

It’s due to start raining again soon.
