Good Morning, not a lot to say this morning. it is very breezy this day, Well, I don't have much of anything to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

I finally finished the patio in between rain showers. I first had to empty 3 plastic containers of potting soil. I was surprised it was wet and stinking. Who knew concrete could get so dirty! This should have been done 2 years ago.
I "might" try to remove some more of the red clay that is still there from when the house was built. I'll leave the pressure washer out just in case...since I figured out how to connect it, lol.
The crack goes all the way across. I had to buy a product called "backer rod" (plastic roping) to put in the crack or it would have taken 15 tubes of caulk. I used 3 tubes.
I have 3 more planters of potting soil to empty. I doubt putting any more planters back on the patio. I'm emptying the dirt where the bushes are to fill in a huge armadillo hole. I read they like to dig/hide behind bushes. I bought a can of Scotch Guard fabric protector. It's supposed to protect from sun fade.
I have decided to sell my wood pellet grill. I don't think it gives the flavor to meat I thought it would and it turns my hamburgers a funky reddish color and smell.
Today is a day of rest. I did get the laundry done..only had one load.
Friday or Saturday I will work on trimming the bushes some more. Want to get that project done before winter. I can't cut back the crepe myrtles until Feb-Mar.
I had a televisit with my oncologist today, but it was canceled because Medicare won't pay for them anymore. Rescheduled for the office in April. It was just a checkup to see how my energy level is since we reduced the Tamoxifen dosage to 5 mg. I'm doing great and my energy is great! Looks like I'll be able to tolerate 5 mg. for 5 years.

I'm watching baseball playoffs half-heartedly. My Astros are not there, so I'm not as interested. Congratulations to BJ's Mariners who beat us out this year.
Otherwise staying awfully busy with who knows what? It's still in the 90's every day, so wishing for cooler weather and rain.
Y'all stay upright, please. No more falls.

Afternoon y'all!
We have had a nice cool down here! Windows and puppy's door are open, A/C has not come on!
I had a blast traveling with Carol! I would do it again in a heartbeat! She is doing better with the stories of our travels. I do need to share some pictures with her. Eventually I will get there!
I was busy the week after we returned, had doctor appointments, did a 5K race... Still feels weird to come home and stay put. Not running out the door as soon as I eat lunch! I have actually accomplished stuff. I have Halloween put out! Shocking, in many ways, I know!
Pet peeves: The bagger dumping my bag of reusable bags! I have lost so many that way. They always use the biggest one, that had all the bags in it. Then cannot understand that there's no way to get the bags into a smaller bag. There's a reason they were in the bag they were in! I even asked, nicely, the last bagger that did that, how he thought I was going to carry the bags to my car? He had no answer. I did make him think though!
I am back researching rehab facilities. This time for my MIL. She had knee replacement surgery today. After the surgery, the facility she had picked out claims they no longer have room, when she had called they told her it would not be a problem. The place PT wants to put her has both a Medicare one star and google one star. I gave my hubby a firm no! Been there done that, almost killed my mom, won't do that to my MIL! I learned from my mistakes!
My BIL has POA, so not my decision, at least he listens to me! She still lives alone, and can take care of herself, so a good thing! I do have a list for them to look at, I narrowed it down to 3.
I have been having a hard time getting here, between staying busy and my computer making me jump through loopholes, to get here, saying something like not a secure site. What a pain. It will be fine for a while then remind me again, not the first time it has told me this. Guess I need to visit more often!
Need to go pull out stuff for supper, hubby is on his way home, from seeing his mom. We =19.5pxare having grilled cheese with tomato. He and his brother will confer tonight over a possible list.
Simba is thriving. This is his home! He seems to love it here! He makes us laugh a bunch. This morning he tried to help me strip the bed! It was so funny to watch him. Oh, and he "talks" to us when he is being silly!
Luke is being affected by the government shut down. He may get to work, he is waiting to see. No pass sales can happen during this time, so that affects, what the park brings in to help maintain itself. Only time will tell what will happen. Wednesday and Thursday are his weekend, he will know more Friday.
Later my Friends!

SANDRA thanks for the pics, sounds like you will be well feasted when you get them, I love blue cheese, not everyone's favourite, but it's perfect for me LOL and if they don't like it - more for me!! Hope you won at Bingo! Keeping a good thought for your =19.5pxfriends with cancer, horrid disease ((((hugs))))
DEVONNE so much work, I can see why you needed more than just caulk. I agree, no more planters, they are a lot of work, I only have my big one near the front door, and it has Peace Lily in it, so not any work at all, just water it every so often and it's all good, thrives in no sunlight too.
THERESA so sorry you have to deal with another 'care/rehab' situation, at least you know all the things to look for, hope Luke is OK.
CAROL a bit like that here, the footy finals are on next weekend, but we have no interest in the teams, maybe the Mr won't even watch LOL Hope so, not my kind of TV!
INDY hope H is feeling better with the finger, the Mr has been to the Drs, he has a corn on his foot, heel area, and possibly a spur, so I have to put a corn bandaid thing on it, BUT he didn't read the instructions, and you have to put a small dot of something on it first, took off the corn plaster and start again .
The boys came around today, then Megan came later, she went to the airport to pick up a friend. She wanted the boys to help her take all the recycling bottles to the depot, you get 10c for each one, and they had bags and bags, Dean finally went with her, he's on holidays lazy little devil, John was doing a uni assignment.
It's turned quite cool, so a good night's sleep tonight I think, we had training this morning, and it was pretty warm - but not hot.
We have plenty of leftovers tonight, so they can pick what they want, I bought lunch at McDs - I didn't have any, that stuff is awful, but the Mr had it, the boys left us the fridge contents for dinner Nice of them!
Have a lovely Thursday, weekend will be here soon! And it's a long weekend for us, with daylight saving in it too I hate it, just get everyone up earlier if you want, but call it the right time! I dislike the change of hours, messes with my head!
WHY oh WHY can't they say, work will start at 8am, not 9, school will start at 7.45am, not 8.45. Just leave the darn clocks alone. I never change the time on the oven - only one I don't, but it doesn't show the time unless it's turned on, so no idea what time it says

I'VE GOT MORE READER'S DIGEST TO SHARE......
1. PEOPLE KEEP SAYING TO SAVE FOR OLD AGE. BUT I'VE DISCOVERED YOU GET IT FREE.
2. A POLICE OFFICER KNOCKS ON THE FRONT DOOR OF A HOME. A WOMAN ANSERS IT. "YES?"
"IS THIS YOUR HUSBAND?" HE ASKS, SHOWING HER A PHOTOGRAPH.
"YES," SHE REPLIES.
"I'M AFRAID IT LOOKS LIKE HE'S BEEN HIT BY A BUS.
"I KNOW, BUT HE'S GREAT WITH THE KIDS."
ITS VERY FALL-ISH OUT THERE AND DEVINE. LOVING IT.
HAD ONLY A FEW COME TO BINGO LAST NITE. HEALTH ISSUES KEEPING THEM AWAY. BUT I STILL WON $1.5O SO THAT'S A GOOD NITE FOR ME. WE KEPT UP THE CHATTING AS WELL SO A GOOD TIME HAD BY ALL.
THEY ARE RE-SEALING THE CRACKS IN OUR PARKING LOT TODAY SO ALL THE CARS HAD TO BE MOVED OUT. MOST ARE PARKED IN THE DAM'S PARKING LOT BEHIND OUR GARDEN. I TOLD A FEW OF THE GALS TO STICK A NOTE ON THEIR WINDSHIELDS THAT ITS A TEMPORARY NEED FOR THE RETIREES ACROSS THE WAY. THAT WAY THEY ARE LESS APT TO GET A TICKET. I HOPE SOMEONE LISTENED. THE LOT SHOULD BE IN GOOD ORDER BEFORE THE AFTERNOON IS DONE.
DEVONNE......YOU SURE HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT AROUND YOUR ESTATE. I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU KEEP UP. ITS A LOT OF WORK. BUT ITS LOOKIN' GOOD SO THUMBS UP FOR YOU.
THERESA.......YOU ARE GOOD AT HUNTING DOWN REHAB PLACES SO ITS FALLEN ON YOUR SHOULDERS AGAIN. I HOPE YOUR MIL IS HEALING WELL AND CAN BE HOME IN SHORT ORDER. I ALSO HOPE YOU FIND A SAFE PLACE FOR HER IN THE MEANTIME.

It’s only going up to 70 today, was great for sleeping! I did my PT while Ralph was at breakfast with the Veterans. When he got home, we went to the Amish market. I got 3 pounds of meatloaf mix to freeze, and some pepperoni and cheese, chicken salad, potato salad, and pasta salad.
I saw neuro on Tuesday. He thinks I may have some foot drop caused by a pinched nerve, and wants to do an EMG. I scheduled that for December, the first appointment I could get. Then we went across the street to Dick’s Sporting Goods and ordered a treadmill. For an extra fee, we’re having it delivered and set up, since it weighs 180 pounds.
Judy, Ralph had the injection for trigger finger, and it’s back after a few years. His brother had the surgery for it.
Ikm reading a series called The Spice Shop Mysteries, set in the Pike Place Market in Seattle. It’s a cozy series. The first was Assault and Pepper, I’m on the second, Guilty as Cinnamon. I’ve been to Pike Place, and I’m enjoying the series.
Plan for dinner is chicken enchiladas, I have the cooked chicken defrosting.

Theresa, good luck with finding a rehab place for your MIL. How long will she be there? I will need to do this if I need knee replacement surgery later.
Logan (GS) and his GF, Darby, have split ways. They have been together for 3 years. She's 7 years older than him. He moved back home last week. They are fixing up the extra RV for him to live in. Of course, he's hurt but life goes on. I offered him a spare bedroom, but two cars can't park here. He would have to park at the clubhouse. I knew he rather be with his mom and dad, but it was a show of love and support.
Sandra, I'll do the work as long as I can and I'll know when that time comes, lol. I love the before and after results and it's good for me to stay busy.

Devonne, I don’t understand about 2 cars not being able to park. Do you have a garage and driveway, street parking?
About knee surgery, my first one I went to rehab. The second, I came home the next day with home PT. Is rehab even an option anymore?
Theresa, yeah, it’s a whole new normal to get used to. With my mom, Mike, Ralph and I tag teamed her, and it was so strange after she died.
Carol, are you going to the quilt show? I remember when Ben picked me up, he was amazed that there were so many “limping middle aged ladies” in one place. Silly boy!
I’ve got the chicken enchilada filling all mixed, as soon as Ralph wakes up from his nap I’ll assemble them and put them in the oven.
I’m listening to the squirrels fighting over the berries in the dogwood. There’s probably enough for 20 squirrels, but they are out there chirping at each other.

GOOD MORNING!
WELL, STILL LETTING HAIR GROW. STILL DRIVING ME NUTS GETTING IN MY FACE. STILL NOT AT A FLATTERING LENGTH. YUCK!
SIS AND I HAD BREAKFAST FOR LUNCH. SHOULD HAVE TRIED TO GET SOME THINGS DONE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, BUT DIDN'T. NAPPED A LITTLE WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN WORKING ON SUPPER. THINK THAT LITTLE SLEEP, KEPT ME AWAKE WHEN WENT BED. RESTLESS CONTRIBUTED TOO.
WISHING EVERYONE WILL BE WELL.

LAUGHTER, THE BEST MEDICINE......
I WANT TO HANG A MAP OF THE WORLD IN MY HOUSE. THEN I'M GONNA PUT PINS INTO ALL THE LOCATIONS I'VE TRAVELED TO. BUT FIRST, I 'M GONNA HAVE TO TRAVEL TO THE TOP TWO CORNERS OF THE MAP SO IT WON'T FALL DOWN.
SUNNY DAY WITH TEMPS IN 70S TODAY AND 40S TONITE. OUR USUAL FALL WEATHER. LOVE IT.
I MADE MY PIZZA LAST NITE AND HAVE SOME FOR LUNCH LEFTOVER. TODAY WILL BE HAMBURGER SOUP FOR THE NEIGHBORS AND MY SON. HE SHOPS FOR ME TOMORROW.
I DID MY LAPS THIS MORNING. YES, I'M FEELING GOOD TODAY. I ALSO DECIDED TO HANG MY BRAS IN THE CLOSET ON SMALL HANGERS SO THEY ARE EASY TO FIND AND DON'T GET SQUASHED IN THE DRAWER. I HAVE TO WEED OUT THE BEST THO SINCE I HAVE ABOUT A DOZEN OF THEM LEFT FROM THE WEEDING I DID THIS SPRING. I THINK A HALF DOZEN SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT FOR MY NEEDS. I RARELY WEAR ONE.
A NEIGHBOR HERE MADE A CHICKEN QUILT FOR HER DAUGHTER WHO HAS CHICKENS FOR EGGS. I HAVE A ROOSTER BLOCK I MADE ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO THAT IS DOING NOTHING BUT TAKING UP SPACE. SHOULD I OFFER IT TO HER AS IS, OR MAKE A PILLOW OUT OF IT. I HAVE THE PILLOW FORMS FOR 16" PILLOWS AND I LIKE TO MAKE THE ONES THAT ARE REMOVABLE TO WASH. DECISIONS, DECISIONS.
THERE'S NO BORDER ON IT AT THIS TIME.
THAT'S ABOUT IT FROM ME TODAY. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S

Holly- I have been going to the PT for drop foot. It has improved but not fast enough for impatient me. lol.
Cold here today…only 54*…I’ve often said Virginia is not the south.
It’s actually warmer in NY near my DD. I think when we go to FL in Feb we will look for a condo to buy…use it for 6 mos a year until we sell (not yet) and then move there permanently. Just something we talk about whenever we are fed up with the weather and other issues about living here.
No dinner plans here yet. DH has left over raviolis….so that’s easy and I’m happy with loaded baked potato.

Good day all.
It is a lovely fall day once again here, if just a tad cool. Last night it was really cool, but I love it because I sleep so much better.
Nothing really going on here. I still have not got my sewing machine to the repair shop, so I hope to do that next week. Not sure, because Dean has jury duty and he usually goes to the shop with me. I can drive that distance, but don't like to do so. The older I get, the less I like to drive.
Aaron is taking Amelia camping this weekend with her girl scouts. (Heaven forbid her mom would do it. ) Plus it is homecoming weekend for Gabriel and he has his dance to go to, so guess who will be driving him and his girlfriend to and from the dance?
He did say they were going to ask her mom, so perhaps she will drive them. We met at a park for picture taking for prom dance and then her mom and dad drove them to the school. Just one more reason we strongly encourage Gabriel to get his drivers license. He is still hesitant.
Not sure what to make for supper today, I am so tired of the same things.

Janet, did they say why you have drop foot?
I had PT this morning, then we went to the library to take back and pick up books. It’s nice and sunny, 70 here. It was 46 last night! I had the electric blanket on and slept great!
I had made and froze cupcakes, so I took enough to PT for them to each have 2, and took a container of icing and a plastic knife. They were happy to get the treat.
Dinner is leftover chicken enchiladas, they heat up well in the microwave.
We have no weekend plans other than Sunday lunch. I want to get the binding on the quilt I’m fixing for Heather.

Holly - I was taking an Rx that caused swelling in my foot and ankle. The PT gal believes that the swelling was pressing on some nerves causing it. She thinks that even when the swelling (edema) clears totally I may still a slight issue. Hopefully not. It has improved, there is some pain and tingling in the foot and toes primarily at night which disturbs my sleep.
DH is outside staining the small decks off of the upstairs bedrooms. He’s listening to a heavy metal radio station. It’s very loud and I dislike that kind of music. So I have my Jaybird in and am listening to to Rockin’ with the 50’s/60’s. lol

Cheryl, why is he hesitant to get his driver's license? I hope you didn't have to be the chauffeur.
Gary and Sadie Grace came over and brought ground beef to grill. Luckily, I had not ate any dinner. He was going to show me what I'm doing wrong with my wood pellet grill. His burgers were delicious! He said to leave the lid open. Duh! How easy is that, lol.
Holly, I'm in an HOA subdivision. I'm also in city limits were police and fire don't want cars in their way, so there is no street parking allowed. Greg said I could get two cars in my garage, but it would be a tight fit and I would need to move things to the back wall.
Gary said they painted inside the RV Logan will be living in and it looks like new. They also painted the kitchen cabinets. I'm going to go see it tomorrow.
My late niece got foot drop after her Stage 4 cancer diagnosis. She had to wear a special brace.
