Cheryl, check with the school to see if they insured playground accidents. And consult his lawyer to see if he’s liable for the money. And last, contact billing and push to find out what they will settle for. For example, when I had surgery it was 40k. I got a bill saying my insurance hadn’t paid it. Called my insurance, she told me the date that the insurance had paid 8k, and I was not liable for any money. It’s frustrating for sure. And make sure the school nurse had made an accident report.

MORE MALAPROPISMS.........
1. WE CAN'T BE A PANCREAS TO THE WHOLE WORLD'S PROBLEMS.
2. HE'S A WEALTHY TYPHOON.
STILL NO RAIN HERE. ANOTHER LOVELY DAY.
CHERYL.......I AGREE. CHECK WITH THE SCHOOL. IT HAPPENED ON THEIR PROPERTY SO THERE MUST BE SOME INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR ACCIDENTS.
WE HAD A POWER OUTAGE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR THIS MORNING DUE TO A GAS LEAK ABOUT A MILE UP THE ROAD OVER THE BRIDGE IN THE NEXT TOWN. THEY WERE BEING CAREFUL. ALL FIXED NOW.
CONNIE BROUGHT ME A MUFFIN FROM COFFEE MORNING. SHE'S SO THOUGHTFUL. I WAS STILL ASLEEP. ITS GOOD I DIDN'T HAVE TO THINK FOR WHAT TO HAVE FOR BREAKFAST. I JUST MADE A CUP OF TEA TO GO WITH IT.
WHILE POWER OUT I STARTED A NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE. THIS ONE HAS A LOT OF THE SAME COLORS SO WILL BE MORE DIFFICULT. ITS A FALL ONE WITH 3 GNOMES.
NOTHING ELSE DIFFERENT HERE. HOPE YOU ARE ALL HAVING A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Quick questionnaire….
Have you ever had a repair person (in this case for a refrigerator) arrive during the “window” time? Have you ever had one who put booties over his shoes without being asked to? Have you ever had one who brought padding for the floor and another to rest his tools on? Have you ever had one work quickly and quietly without some kind of story about the job? And has he ever charged only $210 for the service call and the repair?
Amazingly, this is exactly how it went this morning!! The service window was 9-9:30, he was here at 9:10! He was quiet, pleasant, worked quickly, etc and was spot on with his initial over the phone estimate and diagnosis! I’m a happy camper! I thought for sure we would have to replace our 12 year old Thermador side by side….average price $12-14,000!! Some days are good. Happy dance!

Thank you all for the advise for Aaron. He did contact his insurance and they said she IS covered. Hopefully Akron Children's will rebill them, not sure what the problem was about. He does have a large deductible, but he will have to pay that regardless. I am fortunate that I have Medicare and no problems with insurance at all. I will tell him to check with the school.
Janet, how wonderful that you had such a great experience with a serviceman. That is a rare thing these days.
I made chicken breasts in the air fryer and they were delicious! Ten minutes is all they took to cook. I will make them again.
We had a lovely cool day today, feels like October instead of August, but it was nice.

Janet, congrats on a winning day. Yes, to several of those questions--the booties, the window of time, the quiet demeanor. But, then, Howard deals with any service person that comes and I stay away. One of the perks of him being retired for which I'm thankful each time.
We just got home from the grocery to the tune of $120. We did buy a whole side filet of salmon that I'm going to cut up myself. Of all things, they had frozen turkey breasts on sale. Now I have two in the freezer. You girls have made a believer out of me re: turkey breast.
It's chilly today, fallish. I'm in a long-sleeved denim shirt and jeans. I told H., we look like we just got in from the barn!
Cheryl, how nice of Jessi to surprise you...and on that memorable day. I'm sure you're special to her and another tie to her mother due to your long friendship with Kelli.
Gotta go. ML called and wanted me to try to identify in an old picture. Not successful...
Now it's time to grill some salmon and make a salad. Have a good evening.

I had a good day at PT, legs felt like jelly at the end. Came home and napped. It usually takes me a nap to get me close to 8 hours.
Janet, our HVAC and the electrical contractors both do all you mentioned. And the Comcast people text when we’re the next stop for them.
Cheryl, that’s a relief that his insurance covers it!
We stopped at Panera bread after PT. They have a cranberry walnut chicken salad that I like, and Ralph likes their tuna- something we never have here because of my allergy.
My Pac NW grands start school tomorrow. My jersey college kids start the college semester next Thursday. And it’s going down in the 50’s tonight! Summer is on =26pxits way out. But we’ll have at least one more hot spell, I’m sure.
Judy, after the second night of a Turkey breast I’ve been slicing and freezing into bags of a pound. They defrost nicely.

Carter was sick this past weekend and Greg caught it. He said he hasn't been able to hold anything down for two days except water, but today he felt like he could eat. I always know when he's sick, because he doesn't call me, lol.
Cheryl, how funny about Dean being so surprised when he opened the door, lol! I remember Kelli having a difficult relationship with her Mom. I hope Aaron won't have to pay $16k. He sure has had a difficult time and I know you worry about him.
Not much going on here. Gary is coming over tomorrow for homemade spaghetti. He asked if he could bring Milo, his mini Australian shepherd, and I said yes. It will be interesting to see how Gracie reacts.
Janet, my HVAC guy comes twice a year for maintenance. He calls when he's 10 minutes away, wears booties, asks if I have any questions, changes my a/c filter, but he hasn't brought in a tool kit. Hope that is never needed, lol.
eta: Judy, I've never tried baked potatoes in a crock pot. Seems like that would take just as long as cooking them in the oven? I wonder how they would be cooked in the Instant Pot or an air fryer.

Good Morning to everyone!! The board was very interesting this morning. I love reading what everyone is doing. My left leg is running like crazy, not sure what is wrong with it. I'm about to move to my chair and rest it, hopefully!!! I certainly hope you all are having a nice day, BJ.

My HVAC guy is great. He even has a key to our house. It’s difficult around here to get reliable help. Seems like everyone is a “handyman” with little skill or know how. You Tube has been a very valuable tool. DH relies on it heavily and does most everything.
I’ve had a turkey breast in the freezer for about 2 years? I guess I should just dump it…rather than chance it? Pity cause we enjoy turkey dinner.
Freezing here! It was only 60 when I went to dr appt at 7:30 this morning. Sadly summer is over and so is swimming.

I TOOK OUT MY TRASH. I HAD TO TOSS OUT SOME PORK ROAST. JUST COULDN'T FINISH IT ALL. SOMEDAY I WILL GET MYSELF ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE BUT MAYBE A SMALLER ONE.
BINGO NITE TONITE SO I AM HOPING TO WIN A BIT. I AM TIRED OF COMING HOME WITH LESS MONEY THAT I GO WITH. ITS DIPPING INTO MY LAUNDRY PIGGY BANK.

I am sad and horrified over yet another school shooting in Minneapolis. The insanity of this is beyond understanding even if the perp is mentally ill, as so many are.
Devonne, yes, it takes much longer than the oven, but for me, that's the idea. Stick them in the crockpot and forget them, plus there's the keep warm setting. Both my crock pots are newer and cook at a higher temperature than the old one, so everything gets done faster than before.
Another...I don't eat the peeling that so many love. But neither does Stacy, the U-tuber and she said they were good to her cooked this way. For me, too. The peel is so tender and was tasty enough so I ate it. Just another way to play around with food preparation. Sorry your boys are so ill. My guess is your dog won't like his dog. Being a female so probably an alpha, and it's her house, she'll prevail, small as she is.
Howard is lunching with the ROMEOS. Time allowing, he'll hop down the street to W-M for my waiting Rx. If not enough time, he'll hop the other direction for his doctor appt. for cryosurgery on the actinic keratoses on his head. Once a month, our PCP allows time for this treatment. Does it by hand with liquid nitrogen just like the two derms I worked for years ago. I was supposed to have something on the bridge of my nose frozen, but it more or less went away, so will wait and see if it comes back again to do that. And...it all gives me some time alone at home that I crave.
Tomorrow morning arriving at 6:25 am , I'll have my 2nd laser done on my other eye. As always, I dread it, even after having the first done and knowing how simple it is. Just me! Big baby! However I suck it up and act like a grown-up, knowing my vision will be clearer.
ML is stopping by to see it the empty boxes we have in our basement will work for Andrew's move next month. (She won't stay too long...)
Cheryl...good news about the insurance issue. Too bad Aaron had to go through the angst of all that, though.
Need to go and wait for ML. Have a lovely day.

Good evening friends!
Well, Aaron got some more good news today; he had his 6 month petscan and all is clear once again! Thank you L0rd! He will not need one now for one year. Good thing because he has to pay $4000 every time due to his crap insurance. I was anxious all day waiting word on his results.
Judy, you are not a baby because any surgery is scary but on the eyes is especially so in my opinion. I hated when I had to get my cataracts and retina surgery. Wishing you a fantastic result.
Devonne, sorry about your grandson and son being sick. Wishing for a speedy recovery.
Yes, Kelli and Jessi did have a very contentious relationship, but the last couple of years seemed much better. Jessi is just as bossy and opinionated as Kelli was, so they butted heads often. I asked about her brothers when she was here and she said Kevin (the youngest one now in Alabama) was great but that she had not talked to Bryan (the oldest child who lives 10 minutes from Jessi) in 5 years. So sad. She said something about him preaching wrong topics at the church and they all "got into it" with him. Makes me sad when siblings do not get along, but then, Jessi and Bryan did not get along as children either.
I cleaned out a bunch of towels and blankets to take to the local Humane Society. I also have some wet cat food as that is on their wish list. I need to get that out to them soon as it is stacking up in my bedroom.

I am all ready, packed my sewing things, I have a full car boot LOL my clothes take up a small bag, it will go in tomorrow, after I have cleaned my teeth and brushed my hair etc, I just need to remember all the things in the fridge, apple slice, cut carrots and cucumbers and a dip. I also have some wine and kombucha to drink.
Honestly, the amount of sewing things I have is ridiculous, I need to stay up all night to get it all done!!!
CHERYL so nice to see Jessi, and hear about the family, sorry she doesn't have contact with Bryan, I hope that Kevin is doing OK, he was such a big boy so young I worried about him.
Soo good that Aaron has the insurance covered, such a worry for him and WONDERFUL news on his scan.
SANDRA wishing you well for Bingo, hope it's a winning night for you. I think freezing the extra meat would have worked, just having not enough room might be an issue, it was a great idea to all share a meal.
INDY I hope you are enjoying that quilt. I had never thought to do potatoes in the cooker, I find they are the last thing to cook when I have them in a casserole in the cooker, how long do they take. I had mine going for corned beef, I always think of Rueben sandwiches when I cook it LOL
Best wishes for your surgery, the eye is always a worry, we NEED them - you will be fine.
DEVONNE I agree with Indy, she will probably show dominance over the bigger dog, Oscar does over Alfie, and Alfie could eat him in one bite LOL
HOLLY we had a hot spell, but back to cool again, seems like it's that way the world over for the change of seasons.
JANET I have been meaning to ask for so long, what is HVAC, we have guys service the A/C, but it's outside, so they don't need to come in, they might need to go inside the roof cavity, but the motor is outside.
I do like tradesmen who clean up after themselves.
I leave early in the morning, I am dropping Dean to school, we may stop for a quick breakfast at McDonalds near his school, I dislike the food, but it's too early for me to eat before we leave, at least the coffee is drinkable LOL He can have a hot chocolate.
I made 2 trays of Apple Slice,it's my "never fail" recipe, but it failed this time, it's OK, just the base isn't quite right! , I sent 1/2 one tray to the boys kept some for the Mr and Pete and salvaged the better bits of it to add to the other tray, it's still too much food, but it will get eaten I'm sure, we always have too much.
I need to have a shower and wash my hair, I take a while to dry it, and don't want to get up too early LOL

HVAC= heat ventilation and air conditioning….
Our units for the most part are outside but they still have to get in to service the parts that are in the eaves and downstairs. We have 5 units so it’s basically an all day affair. There are compressors, pumps, thermostats, etc. Lots to go wrong…and very costly. We’ve had to replace 2 since being here and added a mini split in my studio, so basically you could say we have 6.

Laser went fine. I got up at 5 to be there by 6:25. Then, a quick check of pressure and vision at the doc's office at 11 am. I didn't even see him but have a follow-up appt. in a week. I've napped on and off much of the day. Not sure why... Thanks for the encouragement. Guess were all somewhat the same when it comes to medical things.
We stopped for sweet corn at a farm on the way home from the Dr. office. At 11:30, they had no more corn. Since we were out, we went on to a much larger business. Got corn, tomatoes, cukes, zucchini and 2 great big peaches.
The corn is old, tough and tasteless, the tomatoes are red, but too firm and tasteless. I suspect they picked them green. Haven't tried the rest. As with many businesses, the bottom line is all that counts. And it was all plenty expensive. Unfortunately, the nearer farm market closed completely this year due to the farmer's death. His wife couldn't keep it up.
Yay for Aaron. Sorry for the steep co-pay. I'm glad he found Katy to share his life with. And of course, his wonderful parents, you and Dean, Cheryl.
Trish, guess you're at the retreat. Hope you have a good get away. At least you won't starve! Sounds like you took half the food that'll be there! Can't wait to hear all about it.
Monday, Sept. 1 is our 47th anniversary...and Labor Day. They both surely snuck up on me.
I woke up to it when I saw the big ad one of our groceries put in the paper. Then, Howard and I had a disagreement about Labor Day. He insisted it has always been on Sept. 1st. I insisted that it's always been on the first Monday in Sept. I think I'm right! (of course)
QB, hope your winning streak returns. Not fun to lose every week.
Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

Yes Indy, you’re right….always first Monday of Sept! 47 years 😵💫 we’re looking at 53 this Nov…🤪😵💫
Congrats Patty. Twins ! Did I ever mention that my aunt had 3 sets of twin boys? And then one single girl.
Only 61* at 9am here. 😞. DH is still sleeping at 10am! I see the Claritin box on the counter? Oh well, at least it’s quiet here for now.
Hope Trish is having a good time at her retreat. I’ve always enjoyed retreats. I’ll be missing the one this Oct but planning on the Jan and April ones.
Off to my studio to sew or just relax in peace and quiet.
