Janet, yes, of course you were there. We hung around together some of the time. I didn't know you'd worked on that binding, too. I only saw Theresa and Carol. But then, I was really a fish out of water acclimating myself to the retreat and all the folks there. Also, Joni and her sister, Terri were two of the first I met. We had dinner together the first night. Even though he was there, Howard chose not to eat with us. It's all a bit hazy to me now, after 14 years.
The Bible study group was canceled. One of our members ended up in the hospital for observation and since only 5 would be able to attend, we postponed. He's been discharged already. Was in for a low pulse and at 86, they can't take any chances. So instead of the salad I was going to make for that, I'm eating one for lunch almost like it, called, paranzella, using one of the big dinner rolls, cubed, from our lunch out, plus tomatoes, cukes and onion. Found the recipe in the paper this week. Yummy!
We usually just have our tomato and bacon sandwiches with no lettuce.
This mornng, we stopped by ML's to leave Andrew's birthday card, first, then went on to W-M for a new Rx for Howard and the stuff we forgot a couple of days ago.
QB, how fun to run across those books you wrote and stir your old memories. I've only tried my hand at writing, once. A few yrs. ago, the newspaper offered a chance to write something but it had to be said in 50 words or less. They published the winning ones. I never sent anything in, but enjoyed trying it. I have never much wanted to write letters but I do like writing these posts to you all. Unfortunately for you, they're not 50 words or less.
Dave, Howard's lunch partner has written several fantasy books. I believe he gave one of them to H., but neither of us read it, I'm ashamed to say. I don't care for fantasy and am protective of my reading time, so...(poor excuse)
Off to start culling my clothes closet. I can't get my current wardrobe all in it due to the "dead wood". I'll see how that goes...

Sandra, how interesting that you wrote some stories. I love to read but and no good at writing as I have no imagination. Writers always amaze me with the imagination it must take to do a short book, let alone a novel. I do like to read the romance books when I want a quick read. I especially like Janet Dailey for her romance/western books.
I got a yellow squash at the grocery store and thought it would be good prepared as I do the green zucchini; breaded and fried in the airfryer. It had very little taste and we were disappointed .
Nothing else to say, so will close. Just wanted to stop and say hello.

I am glad that some of you got to meet, even though many years ago!! We have been together a long time.
Hoping THERESA and CAROL have fun on the trip, looking forward to hearing all about it.
SANDRA you really have started something, and it's a wonderful thing, as we all know sometimes cooking for one can be difficult. Sharing the food around is a fabulous idea!!!
I am also happy you finally got a small win LOL not QUITE enough to cover your losses yet!
INDY sorry about your cancelled group, but you got to eat Panzanella, I love it!! An easy salad to make and delish! I agree - how did A get to be that old!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you both, the years have gone quickly.
Funny - I just read an article from a few "stars" who have been married a few years, offering advice on a long marriage, combined they don't total what we've clocked up LOL maybe I should write my own article.
Holly you got quite a lot done, I still need to fully unpack from last weekend, and not a stitch done this week - except for mending Dean's pants - again!!
CHERYL I love yellow squash, actually I love most veg LOL but that is a favourite along with asparagus and fresh corn, I wish I had some tonight, but it will be carrot, zucchini both white and sweet potato and pumpkin, and I'm hoping the beans are OK, if not there is some in the freezer.
I went to training this morning we did an accumulator - good grief!!! I was DONE at the end, and still feeling tired now, early to bed for me, some of the girls from the early class were leaving as I go there, they had scarlet faces and said the trackers they used showed RED the whole session, Red means hard, hard work LOL
I went at my own pace, no one finished the whole course LOL from any of the 3 sessions this morning.
I need to go get dinner organised, pork scotch fillet and the veg, we have an early dinner booked 5pm for tomorrow's Fathers Day - we were going to have seafood from the new shop locally, but the local pub coud fit us in, I believe they have a special menu for the day.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, whatever you decide to do. I signed up for Netflix. I'll keep it until the winter months are over.
I started intermittent fasting on Sept. 3rd. I quit eating at 7 and start again at 11, but sometimes it is noon before I eat. I do have my coffee with limited heavy cream every morning. Today I will be having a BLT. My bread will be romaine lettuce. I grew up believing you had to eat 3 meals a day. I am doing 2 meals. I love My Fitness Pal. I've had it for a few years, but am now back to using it.
Judy, Gracie did great when Milo was here. Milo smelled her a few times, then Gracie got in her doggie bed. G&E are really watching Milo since Maverick died. They have leashes now & don't let him go outside roaming alone. I wish I had made his picture. He's much smaller than Maverick was. Maverick's fur reminded me of Lassie. I put these dim lights on the decorative frames beside the dog pictures. They look great there. I'll get a picture.
I went ahead and posted part of this because this is the second time I've had to type it. It went poof!
Carol, did the Scraps to Treasures quilt have a theme you had to follow or you could do what you want? I'm excited for you and T to go on this trip together.
Trish, you amaze me with all the exercise you do. I'll always aware of how bad my knees are, mostly my left knee. I'm always careful how and where I step. Lucky you! I also love almost all veggies.
Today I will start my 5 mg of Tamoxifen. The lowest dosage is 10 mg, so I'll cut them in half. The reason he wants me on this pill is because I had cancer in one lymph node. If the lymph node was removed, isn't the cancer gone? He said there could be microscopic cancer cells that can't be detected so this is a precaution step. If I can't tolerate this, there isn't another pill, as the next one causes bone loss and I already have osteoporosis and on Fosamax. Wednesday we did a phone consult, which was my first and I appreciated not driving to the office. I told him my fatigue was 65-70% better and the next day I had the worse fatigue ever, lol! Friday was much better! We will do another phone consult on Oct. 1st so I need to get these back in my system.

I made a breakfast bake that was really good. Eggs, cottage cheese, oatmeal, apples, cranberries, maple syrup, vanilla. Had almost a custard consistency. Ralph’s had 3 helpings already! Makes a 9x9 pan.
I finished The Perfect Husband by Lisa Gardner. Written in 2004, must have been among her first books, but scary and intense. So many people smoking in it dated it. Anyone reading anything good?

Holly, I also read that book by Lisa Gardner a couple months ago. I like her stuff. That breakfast bake sound delicious.
Devonne, hope you are feeling better today and wish you much success with the new dose of the Tamoxifen.
Today is much cooler with a light drizzle of rain. Dean was out doing some yard work but I have not gone out yet. He went to a local "Minute Clinic" to get a steroid because once again he has terrible poison ivy or poison oak. It never used to bother him and now it gets terribly infected. He did not go last time and it was a couple of months before it cleared up.
I love most vegetables (not avocado ) and we plan to have roasted sweet potato and burgers or fish made in the air fryer for supper. I have some frozen fish filets in the freezer so may make them. I have several bags of frozen fresh corn that I took off the cob and may also heat up one of those. yummy.
That is it for today, boring as usual.
