PATTY that is wonderful news, congratulations to all the family, I hope the twins have a long a healthy life!!
SANDRA so sorry about the Bingo loss - again - you surely must be near a wining streak now. Thanks for the funnies, the last few have been very funny LOL
INDY I hope the move for A goes well, I am glad you told about potatoes in the slow cooker, I had never thought of it, and sometimes it would be handy too be able to leave on all day instead of heating up the oven last minute.
DEVONNE hope Greg is feeling better ( and Carter) the 'flu season here is quite bad, not as much
Covid - that seems to have settled down a bit. Hope you get some good news from your Dr (((hugs)))
CHERYL having all that for Katie is a worry, maybe NOT going to church would be better, people are who they are, and if she is comfortable with that it's all good, I think sometimes that trying to analyse things just makes it harder ((((hugs)))
I know I am missing commenting on things, sorry, got home from quilt camp a couple hours ago, it was FABULOUS! We all had a great time, 25 of us, and it wasn't quiet LOL.
Well we played a game of Word Search, that was quiet for a bit. I took thread catcher baskets and drink coasters for everyone, they loved them, Julie had erasable pens for her prizes and Judy had chocolates for hers. FOOD my goodness, so much food, my apple slice was a drop in the bucket compared to how much food there was. Dips, cheese, crackers, cookies, cakes, you name it, it was there!!!
We ordered pizza on Friday night, I do the ordering and collect $$ and Julie Sarah and I pick it all up, then we go to the small village and get fresh bread rolls for Saturdays dinner on Sat lunchtime (bakery closes at 2pm LOL) and price the BBQ chickens salads and fries. We phone the order through for that and pick up while the others get the tables set up for everyone, we eat all together, lots of tables put together, then play our games, and after that it's Show & Tell, so much laughing and talking, and lots and lots of sewing and sharing ideas.
A fantastic weekend was had by all.
AND now I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open, late nights, and not sleeping well, has taken its toll.
So I will see you tomorrow.
p.s. I finished 1 top and made 2 more, including my Sis's one LOL YAY Me!!

Knew I missed something
HOLLY I am glad PT is helping, do you know why the leg became weak?? I worry about NOT being able to do things, so that's why I keep exercising, funnily enough I was crawling around the floor with placing blocks for my quilt, standing up, the down again and a few commented that they wished they could do that, so I guess it's paying off, I didn't even think about - then Julie told me that probably more than 80% of the room couldn't do it.
JANET do your groups all eat together, or small tables, interested because they set it up for us this time, then we moved the tables around so we could all sit around one very long table, the staff wanted pics of it to show others who come, as we are a popular group with the centre, they send us beautiful emails after we leave telling us thanks for making everything so easy for them, we leave it so tidy and clean, and we have such great set up for both sewing and eating together, makes a big difference to how we all react with each other.

Came to bump and lock the threads but Trish beat me to it. 🤗🤗
It's quite late here, or early! It's 2:45am and I'm ready for sleep, so I'll keep it short, and I havent read much at all.
Theresa, I'm so very sorry about your mom! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! 🙏🏻

Trish - at our small retreat (8) we sit at one table for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is helter skelter. Some sleep in and others eat whenever they care to. I’m usually on my second breakfast by the time some get out of bed. lol.
As for the large one, 55+, we go to a dining hall (it’s a 4H facility) that has a buffet and there are round tables that seat 8. No assigned seats. Just dinner and breakfast. Most either bring lunch or go out. It’s 6 days.
Then there’s the Celebration one that’s every 2 years. 145 signed up within the first 20 hours of on line registration! National teachers, Silent Auction, evening activities, daytime classes, vendors, quilt show, contests, etc. Also at the 4H center, same table set up but with 2 buffet lines to keep it moving. lol. Great event and the 4H is about 15-20 mins from my house. 😃. It’s not until April 2026. It’s rather pricey compared to the others but so worth it.

Good morning ladies, we are struggling along here. Mom has started Keppra. It's been 2 weeks with very little improvement. Last night I upped to double of course on the advise of the neurologist. We watched the sunset last night, only a short drive in our jammies to get the best view. I love reading all your updates. Be well Tracy

JUDY......I HOPE I AM NOT LATE TO WISH YOU AND YOUR GUY A HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TOMORROW. IF I AM LADIES, REMEMBER, ITS THE 1ST.
ITS GOOD YOUR LASER TREATMENT WENT WELL. WE ALWAYS WORRY A BIT TOO MUCH AND MAKE IT WORSE FOR OURSELVES. I KNOW, SINCE I AM THE SAME WAY.
HOLLY......I HOPE THE P.T. HELPS YOUR LEG. IT WOULD BE TOUGH DRIVING WITH LOSS OF FEELING. KEEP UP THE P.T. AND GET YOURSELF BACK IN SHA[PE.
TRISH......SO GLAD YOU ENJOYED YOUR TRIP. IT SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN ALL AROUND. AND YOU GOT SOME STUFF DONE WHICH MAKES IT EVEN BETTER.
I WATCHED THE NASHVILLE DERBY YESTERDAY AND MY FAVORITE JOCKEY BROUGHT IN THE FAVORITE FOR THE WIN. I WAS HAPPY TO SEE HIM WITH A WIN. HE'S LIVING HERE IN THE U.S. NOW HAVING MOVED FROM ENGLAND AFTER HE RETIRED. HE CAN STILL JUMP OFF HIS WINNERS LIKE A YOUNGSTER.

Holly, thanks for explaining. I must have missed it the first time around. How long will you have to go?
Cheryl, wise decision to stay clear of any conflicts between Katie and Aaron. I don't ask G or E any more what is going on with their living situation. It's all H's decision, as they will be making the monthly payments, but they will all be living together. They have all lived in RV's on the property since 2021. G has shown his frustration with H and the lack of moving forward. Anything I say would be negative so like Barney says, zip it, zip it, zip it, lol.
Trish, you are lucky you can still get up easily from the floor; not so here because of my bad knees and my excess weight. I am walking more, but I can't seem to get over 3,500 steps in a day. My goal is at have at least one day of 4,000 steps this week. It's been a long time since I walked 10,000 steps a day, which is recommended.
Tracy, thank you for the update. Maybe it needs to be in her system longer?

Devonne, I read recently that the 10k step recommendation was arbitrarily set, and has no scientific basis, that 4 to 5k steps is more realistic.
Trish, all I knew was the braking issue, it was at my PT evaluation that I discovered the right leg was weaker. I guess I’ll have PT til I get where I need to be, or Medicare stops approving it.
We had a lovely early dinner at Olive Garden with our cookie swap group. It included husbands, grown kids and a dad, so there was 12 of us.
Devonne, you are wise to stay out of the housing issue, you don’t want anyone quoting you! I know my kids and kids in law make some odd decisions, but I’m sure my mom thought we made some odd decisions also.
Steph texted that she got carded at the liquor store. She showed ID and told the clerk that she turned 21 21 years ago!

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES.....
1. SAFETY EXPERTS SAY SCHOOL BUS PASSENGERS SHOULD BE BELTED.
2. SCIENTISTS TO HAVE FORD'S EAR.
ITS AN ABSOLUTELY LOVELY DAY TODAY. WHAT A FINE DAY FOR BAR-B-QUES AND FAMILY GET TOGETHERS.
TRISH IS UNABLE TO GET INTO ODT TODAY. SHE'S HAVING SOME STRANGE MESSAGES ABOUT IT. I HOPE THINGS CLEAR UP FOR HER SOON. GOOD LUCK TRISH.
JUDY......I HOPE YOU AND HOWARD ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY TODAY. ITS YOUR ANNIVERSARY, I KNOW SO HAPPY ANNIVERSARY. MOST EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY IS CELEBRATING YOUR DAY WITH BEER AND BAR-B-QUES. ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING SPECIAL?
I BROKE MY CELL PHONE LANYARD ON SATURDAY. LUCKY ME I FOUND ONLINE WHAT I USE AT A GOOD PRICE SO ORDERED 6 OF THEM SO I HAVE ENOUGH TO LAST THE REST OF MY LIFE. BY THE TIME I MAY NEED ANOTHER ONE (DUE TO BREAKAGE) THEY WILL NO DOUBT HAVE SOME OTHER FASHION STATEMENT FOR THEM AND I LOVE THE ONE I HAVE. LUCKY FOR ME I HAD A PARTIAL SECTION TO WHICH I COULD ADD A HOOK SO THAT I AM NOT WITHOUT A LANYARD EVEN NOW. QUILTERS ARE FOLKS WHO KNOW HOW TO MAKE DO.
THERE ARE NO BAR-B-QUES HERE SO ITS A QUIET DAY PLANNED FOR ME. I GUESS IT WILL BE MY DAY OF REST SINCE I WAS BUSY YESTERDAY CLEANING MY ABODE. ITS NOW LIVABLE. I HAVE FUN THINGS TO DO AND MAY FIND SOME BACKING FOR THOSE WHs I AM DOING. I CAN PRESS EVERYTHING AND HAVE IT READY TO SEW FOR TOMORROW. IN THE MEANTIME ITS READING, PUZZLES, SOLITAIRE AND TV WATCHING. YUP, A GOOD PLAN FOR THIS OLD LADY.
HAPPY LABOR DAY AND HAVE A NICE DAY WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO DO LADIES. HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S

Happy Labor Day, everyone! I'm going to hang some decorative frames in my bedroom. Did wall sconces so I can have the space the lamps are taking up on my nightstands. It's also laundry day and I need to finish redecorating my guest bathroom. It's at the top of my list to get done.
Holly, that's good to know about the steps. Sure makes me feel better. The last time I got in 10,000 steps was when I was in San Francisco with Greg & Carter.
Judy, happy anniversary to you and Howard! Hope you get to eat at your favorite place.
I'm working on a few craft projects. I bought a frame at Goodwill that has birds on it, but they are the same color as the metal & you can't see them. I'm painting them. Will put in my guest bathroom that I've been redoing for a few weeks, lol. Not a lot of work, just procrastinating, lol.
Also redoing two arched frames I got at Hobby Lobby. They are wood and wrought iron. They were brown, but I painted the inside gray, outside is white. I bought two USB charged wall sconces I'm putting on these frames. I made 3 trips to Home Depot to get different size screws.

Happy Anniversary Judy and Howard!
It’s a beautiful day here also. Yesterday I got a rectangular granny started, and today I sewed a set of criss cross coasters. This set is for me.
When Manda and Steph were here, I had them look at the charm packs I have. They each picked out two for coasters, and Manda picked one or two (I forget) for small table runners. I wanted to get the coasters for me done, then I’ll start their requests.
In case any of you were wondering, LOL, Steph aka the boss of the world, has decreed that it’s time to decorate for fall. I got out the fall shower curtain for the main bathroom, Ralph will change that out, and I’ll do the one in the master bathroom.

Good Morning, everyone!! I have no ambition this morning, just lazing around!! Hard to believe, it's September!!!! I have no plans for the day, will just laze around. Hope some of you have some plans. Today, it is so still outside. Not a breath of air is moving. Hard to believe it is Sept. Will be a slow month. Well, I really don't have a thing to say, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

I admire those of you who decorate for each season! About the only thing I change regularly is whatever I have on the front door.

No plans. ML is coming over around 2 for a bit. Probably bringing our anniversary card since there's no mail, today. I have a re-check appt. at the eye doctor on Thurs. at 11:15 and I've been wanting to eat out at Round the Clock, a diner-type/Greek restaurant so will suggest that to Howard. They have a wonderful farmer's omelet or a salad that has grilled chicken/grilled veggies mixed in with the lettuce served in a crispy fried tortilla that is different and tasty. Howard usually gets the fish on the daily menu. Tonight, we'll have steak on the grill, baked potatoes and a salad, here at home. Guess number 47 isn't a big celebration year.
Right now, here's our anniverary gift: a lone doe grazing under the tree in our back yard. She seems to be unafraid even though we're speaking softly in the sunroom. Howard just noticed her still-spotted fawn waiting by the neighbor's fence. Now, it's joined her. After all these years living here, almost 29, we still find joy when the deer come close by. Now, they're gone. Him scampering with his white tail raised and she watching out for danger.
I'm going. Need to be ready for ML's visit. Have a good day and blessings to all of you.

Afternoon y'all!
I have survived the last 2 weeks. My next step is phone calls and probably mailing stuff! I have to call Canada, they are closed for "Labour Day"! I am very tired, I guess the last 7-8 months have worn on me more than I thought! All the services went off without a hitch! Thanks Trish for posting the obit!
I have received a ton of cards, read each of them and displayed them on my chopping block! Almost ran out of room. Good to know I have tons of friends! Hubby is writing the Thank you notes, we have a ton of food, we froze some after we ate supper that night, so it should feed us for a while! Which is good as some of these calls may wear me down!
I have started packing for the trip/adventure Carol and I are going on. I have to pack for 2 weeks. Guess we will be doing laundry somewhere along the way!
Y'all know I have been busy, and now hopefully we can find a new normal for us. Feels strange to come home from my walk and to not head out to see mom. Just weird, since that has been my life for almost 3 years!
My NSDB apologized to my Niece for what he said about her mom and more. Brought her to tears. Me too! I never thought I would see the day! I guess he realized that she's family and he overstepped and such!
Need to go pull stuff for the retreat! I am so looking forward to this. Hubby is practically pushing me out the door, telling me I need this. I'm ready to have fun!
Later my Friends!

Mary Lou, I’m not a big decorator. I change out the door wreaths and shower curtains, and decorate the mantle and coffee table. That’s enough for us!
Theresa, I’m glad the services are behind you. And you already did the biggest clearing out, of her house. Yes, the new normal will feel strange for a while. Are you driving to Houston?
Dinner was from the freezer. Ham and pineapple stuffing that we froze after Easter, and loaded tater tots from Aldi. It was good, and I’m full but not unpleasantly so.

Mary Lou, I am not a decorator either. I change the wreath/door decoration and I have a table by the front entry that I put a runner on to fit the season. Sometimes I change out silk flowers. My daughter in law, Emmily, loves to decorate and her house is always up for each holdiay. Katie and Aaron are like me, in not much decorations.
Holly, Aaron and Katie are married now for 4 years. I do not open my mouth; like Devone says, zip it! Her latest "thing" that they argued about is that she got a nasal ring.
I think they look like snot hanging form the nose, but it is the trend these days. The weird thing was that Katie made fun of Suzanne (Aaron's ex wife) when she got hers done. Katie thinks Aaron should like it and he does not and told her it was her body but that he did not have to like it. She is acting like a teenage instead of a 36 year old woman. She is pretty immature. Enough on her. I just want Aaron and the kids to be happy.
We had a nice cookout with a small bonfire in our back yard on Saturday. Anthony came up and Aaron, Amelia and Katie came over. We had the usual cookout food and s'mores. Good time all around. Before we cooked out we took a walk in the local state park for an hour and then the guys went disc golfing. We walked today at a different park and it was a nice easy flat trail.
Thinking of you all.
