FINALLY got back, it's been a busy week !
CAROL love the quilts, so pretty and they will be well loved THANK YOU
So much happened last week, I read but don't have time to comment separately. I hope you are all doing well
And those who are unwell get better soon ((((hugs))))
I have been sewing, 2 full days, then out for dinner a lot, YIKES no idea where my week went.
It's cold, but slightly warmer today, Julie has come back safely - they flew Qatar Air and could have been caught up in the flight disruptions, but luckily the services resumed a couple days before they were leaving.
I didn't know travel insurance doesn't cover acts of war, YIKES!! Must have cost some people quite a lot of money.
I was sorry to hear about the death of Julian McMahon, he was young, 56!
SANDRA hope the appointment goes well next week.
Better get moving, I have dinner with Sarah tonight, hopefully W will get home in time, Pete will come and her son Jack, he's only 16, and possibly Georgie (from our sewing group) and her husband will also come, will be an early dinner everyone (except us LOL ) has work tomorrow

Welcome back Trish. I’ve never thought that travel insurance was impressive. Only used it once when the cruise line lost part of our luggage. It was a lot of paper work. I think the hope you’ll get discouraged and give up.
Overcast today. We have plans to go to a big car show at the end of the week, but may be a wash out. We have to cancel by Tuesday to get a refund. 🤷♀️. It’s 5 hrs away. It’s up to DH.
I spent about 15 mins chasing a frog around the pool with a net. Finally fished him out…saved his life and don’t you know the dumb a$$ jumped in again! Got him again and DH brought him to the woodline. Hopefully he’s not back in the pool today. I was impressed by how fast they swim.
Nothing planned for today. I’d like to do some sewing but I really should do some tidying up instead.

I’ll never travel without a travel agent and travel insurance. We were on day 2 of an Alaska cruise when Joseph died. Called my travel agent, who booked our flights home and handled the travel insurance. I gave her a generous gift card when we got back, she went above and beyond.
Texas Roadhouse for lunch with F and C today.
I took a 7 lb turkey breast out of the freezer yesterday, figure Wednesday or Thursday to make it in the crockpot.
Finished the last of this batch of table runners, and divided up a charm pack for coasters. Now I have to figure out how to put the accufeed on!
Tomorrow at 10 I have a mammogram, then post office, library and maybe lunch.

Good Morning to everyone!! I'm not feeling very bright this morning, but will survive. It is a very bright day today, but fairly still. Just looked at the calendar and tomorrow is a busy day. I have to go to a Dr. in Bellingham tomorrow at 1:45 and Dad has a post-=op at 11-15 a.m. It will certainly be a busy day for everyone.... and we have rent due on one of our properties, so he'll be by to pay his rent about dinnertime!!
And then---on Tuesday Dad has a Urology Appt at 2:15 and Rhonda has a PT appt at 3:30. It's a very busy week, I haven't even written down all the things going on the rest of the week!!! Well, I've only covered a few of the things going on. I hope you all have a nice week, BJ.

My a/c isn't working. I have called and left two messages. I'm going to leave a 3rd one when I get off here. It's 79 in here now, but it's going to be 92 today. It's not bad if you're sitting under the ceiling fan.
I finally bought a "new to me" car. It's 14 years newer than what I have. It's a 2021 Honda CRV Touring. It has more miles on it than I wanted, 89k, but I don't drive that much to put a lot of miles on it. The good thing is I have $8k left that I didn't spend, so that will be saved to go toward flooring. We looked for a long time for a Toyota Venza, but they were too expensive. Greg wanted to fly to Florida to get one and I told him no way was he doing that. It's white and tan interior, the colors I wanted.
I left my Highlander at Greg's house and he is changing the spark plugs and the coils, vacuumed and cleaned the interior. He's also taking it to Costco to get the tires rotated and balanced. My low pressure light won't go out. I want to sell it asap because I have no place to park it.
I was able to pick my big yellow bell pepper this morning. I checked it every day to make sure no worms were on the plant. This is the biggest one I've ever grown.

Pretty yellow pepper, Devonne. Congrats of the "new" car. I hope you like as we've enjoyed our Honda CRV. It's a 2014 and only has 57,000 miles with only one brake job in all that time except for the recent checkup with fluids changed or added, and of course, oil changes, as needed. It's a pretty teal color so we can usually find it, easily. Has the ubiquitous black interior so many cars have that we don't like. but...
Bill bought a brand new Honda CRV hybrid a few weeks ago. They took it on their trip and are happy with it. It's got so many fancy sh-mancy things, I doubt I could ever drive it using the fewest possible.
No Carol, Howard didn't get the rest of the lawn mowed. He ordered the wrong size belt. So now it's re-order and wait for another one. Why he won't just go buy one locally, I DO NOT KNOW! The whole yard maintenance thing really doesn't bother me that much. Case in point: there's a Canadian thistle that's almost 4 ft. tall right next to the front porch, somewhat hidden. I rather like the wild look and there's only the big property behind us that is manicured to perfection that matters and that neighbor, a widower, probably doesn't care what ours looks like.
Yesterday, we were invited over to Bill/ML's to see their vacation pics on the big TV. And to see Andrew, who goes back to Chicago today by train. The pics were exceptional and we really enjoyed them. Well, I did! Howard slept thru some of them. Our traveling days are over so this is a lovely substitute. Andrew starts back at his old accounting firm, tomorrow, working remotely from Chicago. He's been back to Carmel, IN (near Indpls.) last week to pick up his work computer and get reacquainted. Will rather fall right back in where he left off--same work group he was part of and other "sames". He seems quite happy.
So, I'm off here to work on the big Sunday crossword and other useless endeavors.

Prayers needed. Catastrophic flooding in the Texas Hill Country has killed at least 68 people with dozens more missing. The Hill Country is west of San Antonio, about 200 miles from Houston. Many of the missing are young girls who were attending a camp. The Guadalupe Rive rose 26 feet in 45 minutes during the night. So many were asleep and couldn't be evacuated in time. Nearly 1,000 have been rescued. Please pray for the rescue teams and the families. It's truly heartbreaking.

I've had such difficulties reaching this site, and when i funally did and logged on, i got booted out right away! I'm sure it's due to connectivity issues in my area.
Carol, Texas has been in my prayers, and will remain there! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Such devastation! Such a tragedy! My heart goes out to all those who lost loved ones, as well as those who lost their lives! How scared they must have been! It's truly heartbreaking!
I better run for now, but you all remain in my thoughts and prayers.
The contractor finished with his party of the deck, and hubby is doing the rails to match our front porch. It is going to be beautiful! Well, it is beautiful already, but it will be great to have the rails done! It's a large deck, and I stay away from the edges and the stairs! 😄 Th

Carol, what a horrible disaster. I have watched a lot about it on tv. Definitely will pray for all those families who lost their loved ones.
Judy, my Highlander is a 2007 with 175,000 miles on it. It's still in very good shape. Greg thinks I should be able to get $4,500-$5,000 for it. We only paid $9,000 for it way back then. You are right about the black interiors. Seems like that is all the car manufacturers are using now is black or gray. Well, you could buy a Lexus and get a red interior, lol!
It got up to 88 degrees in here; down to 86. The a/c tech will be here in the morning.

CAROL such a terrible thing to happen I am so so sorry, the prayers of many here in Oz are with you ((((hugs))))
DEVONNE great news for you! Sounds like a great deal, enjoy your 'new' car !
SANDRA a lovely meal for you and your boy to enjoy, I had a yum dinner of tuna/pasta, made with sour cream, it was delish, and plenty for another day.
INDY sounds like a good time with the family, so good to hear that Andrew is doing so well.
JANET hope you are feeling better now (((hugs)))
STRINGS good to see you visiting us, it does take a while to catch up!
I had yoga today, also the bank, that was fun, I wanted to make our major credit card into a proper joint one, instead of him as the primary card holder and me as the extra - NOPE, so applied for one of mine attached to the accounts, a snooty little 25 yr old male gave me a lecture on password sharing with my husband, and NOT being able to access his account, so I politely said I would not access it on my phone ( I omitted to tell him it's on the iPad LOL ) and also told him that as my husband was more prone to be caught on a scam that it was up to the bank to make sure their servers were protected, as I would not be able to do all his banking any more, honestly, we have been married for over 50 yrs, and the banking/finances are always done by me, I wanted to point out to him that one of his parents may be better suited to banking and technology, and would most likely share their passwords - without telling him - but I kept my mouth shut and got the credit card LOL !!!

COLD WAVE LINKED TO TEMPERATURES.
ANOTHER HOTTY TODAY WITH 90 AGAIN EXPECTED. NICE TO SEE THE SUNSHINE SO WILL NOT COMPLAIN.
DEVONNE.....I HOPE YOUR A/C GUY GETS YOU FIXED UP TODAY. THE SOUTHERN STATES SURE NEED THEIR A/C.
CONGRATS ON THE NEW CAR. I ALSO HOPE YOU GET A GOOD PRICE FOR YOUR OLD ONE.
CAROL......I CANNOT WATCH THE NEWS. I CRY WHEN I THINK OF ALL THOSE KIDS AT CAMP MYSTIC AND THE DEVASTATING FLASH FLOOD THAT HIT SO FAST. SUCH A TRAGEDY.
THAT'S IT FROM ME. MY SON WILL SHOP TODAY AND WE WILL ENJOY A CHATTY LUNCHEON. THEN ITS WHATEVER I WANT TO DO TODAY.
HAVE A GOOD DAY EVERYONE. HUGS, QB S

Got my mammogram done. Appointment was 9:55, by 10:30 we were at the library! When you come in using a cane or walker, they now have you sit for the procedure, which was great.
Diane is married over 50, so much older than I thought she was.
The lives lost in Texas put me in a rage, for obvious reasons.
Today is Steph’s birthday, my baby is 42! Yikes! It’s also their anniversary, I think 11 years.
We stopped at the local deli and got cold cuts, and had sandwiches when we got home. Quick and easy on a hot day.

My a/c was fixed at 8:30 this morning. It was a bad capacitor. It's a nice 75 degrees in here now and I know the dogs are loving it too!
Greg and I went to Texas Roadhouse Saturday while they were washing the vehicle. I normally get the herb chicken, but I got the steak with gravy. It wasn't very good; I left half of it. Yesterday we went to Olive Garden and I got lasagna. It was flat like spaghetti. It was not great, but good. Guess the cook goofed on this batch, lol.
Trish, congratulations on getting a credit card in your name. Great idea! I think I put the Highlander title in my name only after Billy passed. I need to go double check that.
Holly, good for you for getting your mammogram! Happy birthday to Steph!
After reading about the Texas flash flood, I can see how this happened so fast. It's the worst area in the US for flash flooding. This happened in that same area in 1987. There were 39 teenagers and 4 adults from a local church. Ten of the teenagers died. Hopefully, no one will camp in this area ever again. They said 41 are still missing and they expect that number to go higher. So very sad.

Please pray for Molly. I can't stop crying. She hasn't been out of my bedroom all day and she has never done that. She's been on her mat all day. She drinks water 7-8 times a day and she hasn't been to her water bowl in the kitchen. She's only been outside once for nature call. I'm taking her water to the bedroom to see if she will drink.
She's the sweetest little girl you could ever ask for. I'm just heartbroken and hope she is better tomorrow.

DEVONNE I am so sorry to hear about Molly, I know how much you love her, they invade our hearts, Hope she is better in the morning, but Cushings sometimes hits them fast ((((hugs)))
Prayers and love for you.
Such awful flooding in Texas, we had similar recently, the water came from nowhere and rose so fast, warnings were there but too late it was so quick arriving and the rain was relentless. We were lucky with not much loss of human life, but livestock was washed away, they couldn't get them to high ground quick enough.
SANDRA hope you had a nice visit with Matt, and heard about his latest trip! So good to hear you can have someone do the heavier chores.
Holly have you done any quilting on the long arm, or just happy playing with the new machine, I have been making blocks, now the quilt is finished and with Julie I have time to catch up.
I had training this morning, it was so cold the metal weights were hurting my hands, one of the girls told me about some cheap yoga gloves, so got them today while I was out AND ran into Chalon and Chloe, they were getting some lunch and I was getting Chinese take away to have tonight. I've been worried about her, we heard from another teacher that she was having a separation from her husband, I think it's more of a time out, she didn't say anything today, and I hope they will reconcile their differences. Gary hasn't said anything either, so it's not official, he always tells me everything with the girls.
I also had my nails done and (probably stupidly) had my eyebrows plucked and coloured, they are a bit red tonight, she did it with 'threading', they roll thin threads and pull the hair out, actually less painful than waxing, so that wasn't it, I think it's the dye. Serves me right LOL
Megan is away with friends, they are having a girls couple days, only 1 1/2 hours from home in a lovely beach house.
Their new caravan is ready this week, still haven't sold the other, but someone is coming on the weekend, fingers crossed.
