Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

PT wiped me out! Each part was no problem, but the total did me in.

When SIL Ed’s parents, in their 80’s, adopted a young dog, there had to be a designated godparent who would take the dog if it outlived them. Ed’s sister agreed. Then Ed’s dad, who was the one who wanted the dog, died, and his mom is left with the dog.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Theresa, the insanity of all that is mind-boggling.  Even all the phone calls would make one cross-eyed.  Glad you had one fun day and have a young, fun dog to play with.  Bless you, dear heart.

My thoughts on another dog:  We miss Fancy, but I know I can't do  even half the care she required, again.  I don't say much around here because Howard misses her as much as I do.  He also toys a bit with another and assures me I wouldn't have to do anything.  Now, we all know that's not possible.  So for the same reasons QB stated, as the seasons of life unfold, there comes a time when some things just must be over.  I'm thankful for  the years  with Harry, then Fancy.  Did they drive me nuts, sometimes?  Yes, Would I trade any of it?  No.
And when the aching comes over me,  I  remind myself of the agony of putting them down, if that becomes necessary...

BJ, hope you feel better soon and  can go  on your outing.   Sounds like Tracy is coming for the weekend.

We got another watermelon, our 2nd, and together, cut it up in big chunks, this morning.  So good, but I'm only eating it in the morning for obvious reasons!

It's another fairly cool day here again.  Thunderstorms due this afternoon.  Tomorrow is the picnic.  More rain forecast.  They may have to move it indoors.  We'll see...

Off to find something for lunch.  I think Howard disappeared upstairs.  I hope so...  Nope, here he comes in from the garage...

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

BJ, hope you feel better as the day goes on. Hugs!

I went to the PO to mail Molly's prescription to Chewy. Greg said it's ridiculous I had to mail it and he would be changing vets. I agree, but they are 2 miles from my house so I'll stay with them. Chick-fila was right around the corner so went thru the drive thru. Our new Chick-fila, which is closer to my house, is about 1/2 finished.

I doubt I would get another dog because of the care a dog requires & I don't know how my health will be. Molly is really bad about getting under my feet. She will be in front of me, flop down on the floor & start rolling. I have to stay alert with her, esp. when I am cooking in the kitchen. G&E have too many dogs & Greg doesn't want another one. Molly was born April 12, 2012. We got Gracie 6 mos - a year? before. Gracie is in much better health. She loves to run every morning when I let them out of their crates.

I made chili with hotdogs in the Instant Pot; 2nd time I've made it. I used 1 can light red kidney beans, 3/4 lb. ground beef, 1 medium can tomato sauce, 1 can mild Rotel with green chilis, 1/2 onion, chili powder, a little salt. Once the chili is done (13 minutes), release the steam, add 3 chopped beef franks, cook 3 mins. I reduce the chili powder I use.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Theresa, such awful times, dealing with health organizations for you mom.  God bless you for taking such care with her.   I miss my mom every day and she has been gone since 1997.  She was only 68.

Devonne, glad that Molly is doing ok.  What a huge difference in the cost of her medication!  When Brutus (our Chocolate Lab) had to take seizure medication, the vet said to check with the pharmacy.  The medication was around $25 for people, even without insurance; however, since it was for an animal, the cost was over $300!!  I forget what the reasoning was, but we went back to the vet and paid something like $79 for the month.  As far as getting another dog, I really do miss having one here daily, but for all the reasons mentioned, will not get one.  Dean really does not want another but says I can get one if I want.  I will just spend time with my Bosco.  He is here for one more day.  Like Sandra said, I, too, cannot go through the heartbreak of putting another one down.

I bought fried chicken from the grocery store and we had a salad with that and I called it supper.  Dean has been running short distances once again and he eats light when doing that.  He can now make it 3 miles at a decent pace and that is with two knee replacements!

Lovely day today.  Still no word on the part for Aaron's A/C unit.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Happy Saturday! It’s Amary’s 12th birthday!

Devonne, that’s a reason I hesitate to get another inside cat, I’m afraid of falling over one.

It’s the graduation party today for great neice Kenzie, but it’s at someone else’s house who has a pool. (Strange, I know). I’m not good in the heat, so I’m not going. Ralph says he’s going for an hour. It also looks like rain.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JULY 13 ~ SATURDAY JULY 19

Good Morning!!  Well, the gang has all left for the festivities in the adjoining town.  It is very blue outside, so I'm glad I didn't go with them.  I'm glad I don't have any plans for the day, I'm tired and really don't have any energy for the day.  So I will just lay low for the day and relax!!!

Jamie just stopped by and wanted to know if I was ready for breakfast.  I'm not in any hurry so he'll just wait until Frank comes out and fix us some bacon and eggs then!!  Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day and enjoy yourselves!! BJ.
