Trish, thank you for all that you do to keep us going here! I hope you have a wonderful trip.
I'm up for a Mother Nature call so thought I would post. I'm going over Greg's house today and we'll go to lunch somewhere.
I had the crap scared out of me yesterday around 6 pm. It was raining hard and I opened the door to make a video. Lightning shot out low from the pine trees, thru the fence and straight across the patio. It had a red tint and was so loud. Thank goodness I didn't go out there and shut the door quickly. I didn't know lightning could do that. I always thought it struck from above. My ears are still popping.

Devonne- the rings are very pretty. I haven’t worn a ring since about 2 years after I got married. It was a nuisance at work….and DH didn’t wear his more than a few days after the wedding. I have them here somewhere.
Foggy here.

AFTER YEARS OF BEING LOST UNDER A PILE OF DUST, CHESTER D THATCHER FOUND ALL THE OLD RECORDS OF THE BANGOR LIONS CLUB AT THE BANGOR HOUSE.
THE SUNSHINE IS BACK AND THE RAIN NOT BAD AT ALL. NICE DAY.
I'VE ALREADY BEEN READING TODAY. WILL SPEND SOME TIME WORKING MY NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE. I COOKED LAST NITE, TOMATO SAUCE WITH STEAK AND MEATBALLS WITH SPAGHETTI. IT WAS VERY TASTY AND I HAVE ENOUGH FOR MEALS TODAY AS WELL.
ITS MY DAY OF REST. I LIKE TO KEEP SUNDAY SPECIAL WITH NOTHING TO DO BUT ENJOY WHATEVER I LIKE. IT KEEPS THE WEEKS IN ORDER.
DEVONNE......LOVE THOSE RINGS. SO PRETTY. AS FOR THE SCARE, WOW! THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A SHOCK TO SEE THAT LIGHTNING ZAP PAST YOUR PATIO LIKE THAT. STRANGE.
THAT'S IT LADIES. I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR DAY AND THE FATHER'S DAY IS REMEMBERED BY YOUR KIDS TODAY. IT WOULD BE NICE FOR DADS TO GET A CARD OR TEXT OR A LUNCH OUT.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL, QB S

Morning lovely friends,
a gorgeous sunny day here on the Gold Coast Queensland, got here yesterday afternoon, bit couldn’t check in till 3, only thing I don’t like about Meriton 😁, you can book/pay for late check out but not early checkin, they did check us in at 2.30 when we got here though, supposed to be on level 19 but an appt available on level 15 so we took it.
gorgeous views of the ocean and we were awake for a lovely sunrise today.
The Mr just left, his other hearing aid has a problem, why he didn’t have both checked last week is a mystery 😱 however we stopped at a big mall not too far away yesterday and they could see him first thing today, so he’s off😁 also had to get a new charger for his car - he didn’t think to tell me he’s had trouble sometimes connecting 😱😱, so got that at the mall too. Honestly — I refuse to pack for him but maybe I should do a quick check of incidentals 😁
We had a nice dinner last night with friends Mick & Janette, he is playing today. Mick also played last Thursday, they arrived last Wed.
DEVONNE lovely rings, I only wear my wedding gold band, but have my rings on now. Because I do weights the rings go out of shape, doesn’t matter about the plain gold, but the stone-set ones could loose stones. Does feel strange with them on all the time, but might forget them if I take them off.
BJ posted on last weeks thread which I have now locked, sorry just ran out of time to mess with internet here last night.
Hope you are all ok, I’m going to get my coffee and sit on the balcony and enjoy the view.

Lovely pic, Trish. Thank you. Hope you enjoy your time, there.
Devonne, pretty rings. I do think that silver band across the opal will protect it. How terrifying with the lightening phenom. Obviously it's totally unpredictable.
We both have always worn our wedding rings. Howard's that matches mine is in the drawer--to tight for him, now. But, he bought himself a titanium one a few years ago to wear which he likes.
I must go. He's not felt very well today. Had a headache and some nausea and dry heaves.
Now, he wants something to eat. Back tomorrow...

SANDRA I bet Chester was coughing from the dust 😁😁
DEVONNE that was scary, yikes, we had lightning not very far recently, that was scary, your much more so (((hugs)))
INDY sorry your dinner plans had to change, at least you were able to cancel. Just found out we are having dinner with Mick & Janette again, they are very nice.
HOLLY have you turned the machine on yet. When I got my Pfaff she unpacked and threaded and ran it to test. Good yo see a couple little tricks when she did it.
It’s been a lovely sunny day, cool in the apartment, warm in the sun.
I have been knitting and watching Castle, from the beginning.
Poor Dean has ‘flu B, he’s quite sick, it’s going around both at home and here. So is ‘flu A and covid, crossing fingers we don’t catch it 😁

ACCIDENTAL BLOOPERS.......
1. I PULLED AWAY FROM THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, GLANCED AT MY MOTHER-IN-LAW, AND HEADED OVER THE EMBANKMENT.
2. THE GUY WAS ALL OVER THE ROAD. I HAD TO SWERVE A NUMBER OF TIMES BEFORE I HIT HIM.
ITS A LOVELY COOL DAY HERE IN MAINE. ONLY HIGH 60S TODAY AND SUNNY. THE KIND OF DAY FOLKS COME HERE FOR IN THE SUMMER.
MY NEIGHBOR MICHELLE GAVE ME A LOVELY CERAMIC POT AND SOME LOTUS SEEDS TO PLANT IN WATER. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BLOOM JUST IN WATER, NOTHING ELSE. ITS A THANK YOU FOR THE CARE I SHOW HER WITH FOOD AND GETTING MAIL AND TAKING OUT HER TRASH. SO KIND.
I PLAN TO DO SOME SEWING TODAY. ITS SUNNY AND BRIGHT AND A GOOD TIME FOR IT. I ALSO WANT TO CUT OUT STRIPS FOR BORDERS AND BINDINGS FOR MY WHs. I WILL KEEP SEVERAL ON PAPER TOWEL ROLLS TO HAVE HANDY WHEN I NEED THEM.
I HAVE CLEANING OFF COUNTERS AS MY NEXT PROJECT. I CAN SCRUB THEM DOWN AND REARRANGE THE THINGS ON TOP SO ITS NEATER. ITS BEEN SEVERAL MONTHS SINCE I DID THAT.
YES, IT SEEMS THE KITCHEN ALWAYS NEEDS ATTENTION. EITHER ITS COUNTER TOPS OR CUPBOARDS. SCRUBBING, SORTING, REARRANGING. BUT THEN IT ALL LOOKS SO GREAT WHEN ITS DONE ITS WORTH IT.
TRISH......GREAT PICTURE. THAT VIEW IS WONDERFUL. THE KIND I LIKE WHEN ON THE COAST. ENJOY YOUR VACATION.
SORRY POOR DEAN ISN'T FEELING WELL. HOPE HE RECOVERS SOON.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

Trish…love the pics.
It’s been rainy, foggy, hot, humid….for about 3 days,
Did I mention we have a wild bunny that comes over to be fed everyday? I guess it started a few weeks ago. I was filling the feeders and almost stepped on him. I crouched down and gave him some food from the scoop and now we’re buds! lol.
Even comes to DH now too. Usually twice a day. The rest of the day he grazes on flowers, grass, etc. So cute.
The hamper is so full I don’t think I could fit another sock in it. I haven’t been feeling well, and DH doesn’t do laundry. I’ll have to wash some undies soon or order more from Amazon, 😂

Trish, what a lovely view! Hope you get to enjoy some good food.
Janet, how cute about the little bunny! You have a garden friend.
Judy, Billy couldn't wear a ring at work, so we never got him one. He wasn't a jewelry/ring type of person; seldom wore his watch. I'm looking for a black onyx ring. Billy gave me one many years ago in the shape of a heart. That ring somehow got bent, so I'm shopping for a heart black onyx.
Car shopping is for the birds. I am no closer to buying a vehicle than I was six months ago, lol!
I just heard the heat wave is coming this week. Guess I'll be staying indoors!

I leave the car buying to DH. The Edge apparently has a bad rotor…😡. Should have kept the Rav.

Good Morning to everyone!! Frank was sure up early, but is sleeping now. He has someone coming to pick him up for coffee with the guys. It is a good thing, I think he needs to get out more.
There is a big. fat ugly cat that just was walking down my entry path. Gone now. That's good, because I don't like cats!! Well, I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will just sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

2. MOTHER'S HELPER....PEASANT WORKING CONDITIONS.
WE KNOW RAIN IS COMING. ITS GETTING DARKER BUT TEMPS ARE IN THE 60S SO ITS NICE.
YAY FOR ME. I DID SOME SEWING YESTERDAY AND WENT TO THE COMMON ROOM WITH FABRIC WHICH I CUT FOR BORDERS AND BINDINGS. ALSO PRESSED THE FABRICS. TRIMMED THE EDGES OF MY "PINK IRIS GARDEN" SO I CAN ADD THE BINDING ON THAT TODAY.
I ALSO STARTED A NEW PUZZLE, SUMMER GNOMES. THE ONE I JUST FINISHED HAD 1 PIECE MISSING SO I MADE THAT NOTATION ON THE BOX IN CASE ANYONE ELSE TRIES IT.
PLANS TODAY ARE CRIBBAGE THIS AFTERNOON. AND THE SEWING OF COURSE.
I HAVE A PORK CHOP DEFROSTED SO THAT WITH MAYBE SOME FROZEN FRIES AND SOME SALAD WILL WORK OUT WELL FOR SUPPER TONITE. I AM TIRED OF SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS THO I HAVE ENOUGH LEFT FOR ONE MORE MEAL. MAYBE TOMORROW.
THIS WEEKEND ITS GOING TO BE VEGGIE BEEF SOUP FOR MY SON AND NEIGHBORS. I DON'T KNOW YET ABOUT THE TATER TOT SAUSAGE CASSY. I HAVE THE INGREDIENTS BUT HAVEN'T DECIDED TO MAKE IT YET.
WITH READING AND SOLITAIRE GAMES AND WATCHING TV PROGRAMS, I KEEP MYSELF BUSY. I ALSO TRY TO DO MY LAPS IN THE HALLWAY EVERY DAY TO KEEP THE OLD LEGS IN MOTION.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

BJ, I agree about it being good for Frank to get out more. Howard, not a very social person, comes home from his lunches with the ROMEOs and Dave more animated. I expect Dave will call this week...
Howard's migraine/nausea kept us up much of the night before last. I was able to get him an doctor appt. yesterday afternoon and ML took us. I didn't go in with him this time. Felt like one on one would be better than with me there and it was...and...he actually told me what the doctor said. It was all complicated by us needing to get the Honda to the auto repair guy for an appt. we'd waited 3 weeks for. So, early yesterday morning, ML & Bill came over and took the car, thus her having to take H. to the doc appt. He's still a teeny bit queasy this morning and is eating very lightly--yogurt. Just part of the migraine/nausea issue, I guess?
Devonne, I have two onyx rings--a Black Hills gold and onyx ring and another onyx with a teeny diamond in the center. Both are pinky finger rings. How nice for you to replace the one Billy gave you. Hope you can find the heart-shape you're looking for.
QB, cluttered counters are my nemesis. That and the various lids that drive ML nuts when she cleans up my kitchen. Some peculiarities just sneak up on you. For me it's unconsciously keeping lids that I might need some time...but seldom do. Now, I make an effort to pitch them immediately. Your little gift sounds interesting--no soil needed. Will be fun for you to watch it develop. Like Holly browning and freezing ground beef, your making bindings ahead is so smart. Not so much fun while doing, but for later, marvelous. I should be so efficient!
So...instead of just pulling the 4 tall weeds along the front walk, Howard, sprayed them with something. Now, they're tall brown, half-dead weeds! Our weeds drive ML nuts, too. She offered to come over and pull some of them. I refused her offer. Every day's a holiday...
Closing this now and beginning again in the spare room redo. Have a good June day.

Today would have been our 58th wedding anniversary. That's why I'm replacing the black onyx ring he gave me. It had 3 heart shapes and he said the big one was him and the smaller two hearts were our sons.
Judy, what is wrong with your Honda? I've pretty much ruled out the CR-V and the RAV4 due to their high prices. My budget "ain't" that high, lol.
I went to Walmart today to buy groceries so I could walk more. When I was leaving the store, I put my sunglasses on and they were covered with perspiration....in the store! I had them on my head.

hi all
it’s been a very long couple of days here, left by 7.30 each day, back by 7.30pm 😁
The Mr absolutely over the moon to have won games on the first day enabling them to compete in the first set of “knockout” games. They played then and won the first and narrowly defeated in the 2nd, he and his partner elated by their position.
The partner we had never met before, he and his wife both lovely people, they did not expect to go through to the 2nd day, so a few phone calls back & forth figuring out why, turns out 2 teams had identical scores, but we played one of them and won by one shot, so were the winners 😁😁
We just got back from Chinese in the restaurant near the apartment, tomorrow is our last day, I’ll potter about and pack a bit, he can decide if we leave early and drive straight through or stay and watch some games and stay overnight on route.
I am over bowls, after the 2nd game today the guys all wanted to watch the best players at another venue, so there we went😱. I’ll be happy NOT to see another game for a long time.
Hopefully see you tomorrow
Forgot to tell you, it’s been really lovely warm sunny days I
UNTIL we had to be out in the open for the games when it’s been cloudy, cooler and windy, I just can’t win, lucky I brought enough warmer tops!

Finally a sunny day! No rain!
I can’t seem to get moving…no energy, no interest….hopefully this passes soon, DH is not liking it.
Finally did a load of wash yesterday.
Just read that Anne Burrell, Food Network star died yesterday. 🙁 only55.
DH has decided, again, to sell his Corvette. He has a local guy interested, but honestly I doubt the guy will pay the asking price. We don’t need the money, he just doesn’t like the car. He’s also going to talk to a guy about buying the truck, it’s an ‘09. This is all up to him. I know he’ll be sorry no matter what he does, so I’m not getting involved.
The guy came to work on our all house generator yesterday. It failed during the power outage last week.
Trish- glad the Mr enjoyed the trip and games.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. TWO SOVIET SHIPS COLLIDE, ONE DIES.
2. TWO SISTERS REUNITED AFTER 18 YEARS IN CHECKOUT COUNTER.
WE SHOULD SOON SEE THE LAST OF THE RAIN THAT ARRIVED LAST NITE. ONLY IN THE 60S AGAIN AND A BIT CLOUDY BUT GETTING LIGHTER.
STRINGS/DIANE.......GOOD TO SEE YOU ARE STILL TICKING. I HOPE YOU CAN CHECK IN MORE OFTEN.
JANET......WOW, ANNE BURRELL WAS JUST RECENTLY HOSTING HER SHOW, THE WORST COOKS AND DIDN'T LOOK ILL. I USED TO WATCH IT BUT GOT TIRED OF ALL THE SHENANIGANS. SORRY TO HEAR SHE'S GONE. I THINK SHE GOT MARRIED ONLY RECENTLY.
TRISH.......ENJOY THE TRIP AND THE RESTAURANTS AND THE SHOPPING WHILE YOU ARE THERE. ITS AT LEAST SOMETHING YOU CAN ENJOY DURING YOUR TRIP
TODAY IS BINGO NITE. EXCEPT FOR SOME SEWING AND JIGSAWING I WON'T BE DOING MUCH TODAY.
I COOKED LAST NITE, A PORK CHOP WITH SOME PASTA-RONI AND MADE A SALAD. THERE'S ENUF FOR TODAY AS WELL AND I NEED TO FINISH OFF MY SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS LEFTOVERS, TOO.
I ENJOYED CRIBBAGE YESTERDAY. I PLAYED 2 GAMES OF 3-PLAYER CRIBBAGE AND CAME IN 3RD AND 2ND. THEN I WATCHED THE 2 EXPERTS PLAY A GAME TOGETHER. OUR NEWBY DIDN'T SHOW UP TIL NEARLY FINISHING TIME. I THINK SHE'S GETTING TIRED OF TRYING AND TRYING. I HOPE TO GET HER ASIDE AND PLAY A GAME NOW AND THEN WITHOUT ANYONE AROUND SO SHE CAN GET USED TO IT MORE, IF SHE WANTS. I DON'T WANT TO PRESS HER AND MAKE HER UNCOMFORTABLE.
THAT'S MY EXCITEMENT FOR THE DAY. WISHING YOU ALL A FINE DAY. HUGS, QB S
