Question for you interior designers…🙂. As you may know I’m not into this at all…DH is in charge of color, furniture, etc….
We have 2 leather chairs he bought for the main living room that we decided not to use and put them downstairs in the family room, which we never use. Now we’re ready to do and use that room. Just had it painted, etc. So we went to the furniture and ordered two sofas in fabric to use in a setting in front of the fireplace. They should be delivered in about 2 weeks. Now he says, maybe we should have gotten them in leather to go better with the chairs. I really don’t care but thought I’d get some opinions here…. Can we mix 2 leather chairs with 2 fabric sofas? If I don’t take them and change to leather I don’t think the leathers will match, what do you all think?

FROM READER'S DIGEST......
TWO NEWBORNS ARE PLACED SIDE BY SIDE IN A HOSPITAL NURSERY. ONE ASKS THE OTHER, "ARE YOU A BOY BABY OR A GIRL BABY?"
THE SECOND BABY SAYS, "I DON'T KNOW, WHAT ARE YOU?"
"I'M A BOY BABY."
"HOW DO YOU KNOW?"
"I'LL SHOW YOU." THE FIRST BABY THROWS OFF HIS BLANKET AND SAYS, "SEE, BLUE BOOTIES."
ITS ALREADY 92 HERE AT 10 AM. A HOTTY TODAY.
THERESA.......HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY WITH LOTS OF SMILES.
JANET.....I SAW SOYLENT GREEN YEARS AGO. I WAS APALLED WITH THE ENDING.
AS TO LEATHER AND UPHOLSTERED.....WHY THE HECK NOT. IT WAS ALWAYS A GIVEN THAT WHEN YOU HAD UPHOLSTERED SOFA AND CHAIRS THAT YOU ADDED LEATHER RECLINERS TOO. I SEE NO REASON TO DIFFER.
HOLLY......HOW NICE YOUR NEW MACHINE IS WORKING GREAT AND YOU ARE HAPPY WITH IT. GO GIRL.
CHERYL......I HOPE AARON'S A/C IS WORKING PROPERLY TODAY. ITS TOO HOT TO HANDLE WITHOUT A/C.
PATTY......GOSH, YOU SURE ARE DOING GREAT WITH YOUR QUILTS. YOU SHOULD BE MIGHTY PROUD OF YOURSELF. I APPLAUD YOU.
DEVONNE.....LOVE THE PIX OF YOUR GARDEN. YOU ARE GETTING SOME GOOD VEGGIES FROM THAT LITTLE PLOT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
TRISH.....THANKS FOR POSTING THAT LATEST PIC OF YOUR QUILT TOP. NOW I CAN SEE HOW THAT ALL WORKS TOGETHER. GOOD JOB.
IT WILL BE HOT AND I WILL BE TAKING IT EASY TODAY. HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

Janet, I’m not good at decorating but my opinion is that fabric and leather would be better than two leathers that don’t match.
Prep for moving my sewing room is still happening - a lot of other stuff is getting sorted and organized in the process.

Good Morning, I hope you are all doing well. It is a lovely day here. The sun is shining brightly. Just love it!!! Sharon is due here in about 5 minutes. I believe Frank is planning on going to coffee with the guys this morning. They'll be here any minute to pick him up. It will be nice for him to get out and visit with the fellows.
Boy, our lawn sure needs cutting, grows so fast this time of the year. It is really green, now. Well, I'm going to sign off. Sharon just got here to clean up. Hope you all have a wonderful day, BJ.

Trish, that quilt is so pretty and what a neat way to fool the eye. I love lime-y green colors as accents around my house, and they're in this quilt. I guess you're not keeping it, but it would be hard to part with... if it was me. Hope your nose settles down soon. All that sneezing/blowing, etc. is so dibilitating. You can hardly get anything else done!
Theresa, you were past due for a pleasant surprise (instead of some of the unpleasant ones you've received). So glad it made you happy and know you are well-loved. I'm so hoping this works out for your Mom...and you. As far as the most important one, you could rub a hot dog on an older one. Maybe that would lure him away???
I feel like I've solved one of the world's problems (my world!) Tomorrow is ROMEO lunch day. I have a dental cleaning, appt. set up long before the ROMEOs came into our lives. ML has a P-T appt. 1 1/2 hours after my appt. So, with much figuring on my part, Howard will drop me off at the dentist's and go on to lunch. When I'm through, I'll call ML at home and she'll come and pick me up. She & I will then eat lunch at White Castle (which we both love once in a while and Howard hates) which is right across the street from her P-T place and down the highway, 1/2 a mile or less from where Howard is lunching. When we're done, she'll run me to where Howard is and go to her P-T appt. and he and I will carry on. Brilliant, right? That's how much I want him to keep going with the ROMEO's!
So, last evening, when I had the salmon all ready to grill, he discovered the grill was out of gas--our laziness for not getting the other tank filled. Good thing the stove had gas so all was well. Frozen corn and tomato and cuke salad rounded out our supper. NO potatoes, which I do love many ways. Just not last evening.
Devonne, your produce looks and sounds so good. Like you and Trish, I prefer the red or yellow peppers. Of course, in the stores they cost much more. Hope you find the car son of your dreams soon and don't have to settle. It's harder when you need to rely on other people, even sons, to help you. Men seldom want to take the time we women need to be sure.
I've only named my feather weight. With Devonne's permission, I call her Sadie Grace. Had a a Buick LeSabre years ago I named Sybil. No reason why for that name. Otherwise, no vehicles have been named. I've told this before, but Cousin Judy named her dog, George, after her FIL, my uncle and Aunt Frannie's husband. She planned to name the cat Fran but Aunt Frannie was so enraged that she had the nerve to name the dog, George, and pitched such a fit, the cat got some other name. One has to be careful with in-laws!
With that useless information, I'll quit and carry on here. Have to come up with something for supper, a daily question, often. Have a good day.
Indy

It’s 99 degrees out! We went out at 9 and got haircuts, stopped at Nothing Bundtcakes, and came home. By 12 I was ready for a nap!
Janet, I also think leather and fabric can be mixed. Leather is kind of neutral.
Carol, you are the best! Do you need fabric money? Or postage money? I won’t send any more fabric, it costs too much to mail, and with what I paid to mail, you could have bought more fabric.
Judy, I think dinner is going to be a pasta dinner in the freezer from Olive Garden. Too hot to cook or to care!
Manda’s FIL was seen yesterday at Urgent Care and is much better today. I’m sure he’s not happy with any of us for insisting he be seen, but too bad.

Janet, we have two leather recliners and a fabric couch and it looks fabulous!! , allbeit a bit shabby after all these years. I think shabby leather is a thing anyway and the couch has almost never been sat on and looks brand new. Actually, our two recliners are taupe and ox blood because they didn't have two the same color and even that combination works for me, with a camel colored couch.
Holly, we have leftovers--veggie soup with crockpot country pork rib meat. I don't much like corn in soup, but Howard does and I have some leftover frozen corn that was good so I may add that, at least to his. It's not soup weather, but it's made and tastes better than the first time around. May add a pulled pork sandwich if he wants. Curly's brand and different than the soup meat. A reals Duke's mixture! I sometimes run the "menu" by him and he usually approves it and has some warning when it's leftovers.

I haven’t been out today but it is upper 99’s. I guess we’ll go in the pool when the sun goes around late afternoon. I’ll bet the water is 90 or so.
Thanks for your opinions on the furniture.
Yesterday the Ford Edge sent me a text that the battery was in life saving mode??? What? Then the dumb alarm went off saying someone was trying to gain access to be car. About an hour it started remotely? All with in one hour…in the driveway.
These new fangled electronic bs. I hate. It! Remember how in the old days we were smarter than the car? DH discontinued the battery to shut it up. Told me to use the truck if I need to go anywhere. I’m hoping he’ll dump this car asap. Where oh where is my RAV. If I knew, I’d buy it back!

If I ask what he wants for dinner he says make whatever you want. And the. When I do, he inevitably says why did you make that? 🤪

Janet, when I was growing up my dad could fix and adjust cars with a screwdriver!

Janet, I wouldn't want everything to be leather; it makes for a cold feeling room. We had a leather sectional in the family room at our last house and I hated it. When we had the interior painted, the painter loved it and we bargained on a better paint price for him to take the sectional, lol.
I have a beige leather sofa, two fabric Lazy Boy recliners and a brown leather recliner I bought when I needed surgery. I would love a fabric sofa, but not with two dogs. What pulls a room together and makes it more cozy are the accessories.....the drapes, the throw rug and the accent pillows. Just my opinion!
I am watering my new sod at 10:30! I have one more area to do before I can turn it off. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, but I needed to water it today.

Good Morning to everyone!! It's sort of a gloomy day here, no sun. We do have a slight breeze. I don't have any plans for the day, just being lazy. Well, I said we have a slight breeze, but now we have wind, just came up. I don't have any plans for the day, just being lazy, so will sign off. I hope you all have a wonderful day, BJ.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. NICARAGUA SETS GOAL TO WIPE OUT LITERACY.
2. DRUNKEN DRIVERS PAID $1,000 IN '84.
WE HIT 99 YESTERDAY AND MAYBE REACH 91 TODAY. TOO HOT FOR MY NECK OF THE WOODS.
LET ME KNOW IF I AM REPEATING MYSELF ON THE JOKES. I WAS NOT SURE ABOUT TODAY'S.
NOT FEELING UP TO PAR LATELY. THANK GOODNESS I SEE MY CARDIOLOGIST ON TUESDAY. IT MAY BE TIME FOR THAT PACE MAKER. NO ENERGY THE LAST 3 DAYS. BUT MY PULSE IS ENOUGH TO STILL BE SAFE SO I AWAIT HIS FURTHER TESTING ON TUESDAY.
YESTERDAY MY NEIGHBOR NAN BROUGHT ME SOME SUPPER. IT WAS A PRE-MADE DINNER OF STEW BEEF, PENNE PASTA, CARROTS AND BEEF GRAVY. NOT BAD. I HAD TO CUT UP THE BEEF IN SMALLER PORTIONS SO IT WOULDN'T TASTE CHEWY BUT ALL IN ALL, IT WAS NICE TO HAVE SOMEONE BRING ME A MEAL. NAN RARELY COOKS. SHE MOSTLY BUYS PREMADE AND FROZEN DINNERS THAT'S WHY I SHARE WITH HER SO OFTEN. ITS GOOD THEY HAVE SOME GOOD PRE-MADE MEALS THESE DAYS.
I HAVE TRASH TO TAKE OUT SO THAT IS ON MY LIST FOR TODAY. OTHER THAN MAKING MY MEALS, PROBABLY SANDWICHES TODAY, I WILL BE WATCHING TV, DOING MORE READING, AND PLAYING SOLITAIRE ON MY PUTER. A SLOW DAY FOR ME AGAIN.
WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

It's hot today, but it is the last day in the 90's for awhile.
Not much going on here. The kiddos are coming tomorrow to spend the day and maybe the night so I'll get rested up today.
Happy belated birthday, Theresa!

Happy belated birthday, Theresa!
Not much going on here, either, Devonne! lol! Amelia is spending the night and she has not done that for a while, so that will be fun. Dean is in the dining room playing cards with her as I type.
Made some baked chicken, green beans and boxed stuffing for supper. Easy and not much baking time, so the oven was not on long. It is still really hot, but not as hot as the past two days. Sadly we have had several drownings in the area lakes and rivers. A dad and his 5 year old son was first, then a 37 year old man boating/rafting in a local lake. The rivers are fast, cold and high due to all the rain, and now it is hot so many people in/on the water and most without life jackets. The water rescue team is still looking for the dad in the river after several days. The boy was recovered.

Oh how terrible, Cheryl. Lake Michigan takes quite a few lives every summer. The undertow is the culprit most of the time.
Our perfectly planned day was part fallacy and part success. Howard dropped me off at the dentist office and went on to the ROMEOs. He was early, sat there for an hour and 15 mins. and no on showed up, so he called the ring leader who had texted everyone the day before that they were canceling. My appt. went perfectly and I was done right on time and ML came to town early, so when I texted her that I was done, she was coming thru the door. We switched from White Castle to Chipotle for lunch and I dutifully texted Howard that info, just in case. I should have watched for his reply. As we were starting to eat, he texted ML asking if she'd heard from me.
He had gone to the dentist's office hoping to intercept me/us. I called him, told him where we were and told him to come there. He said he didn't get my text. HE DID! and the other two that Don sent! He found them all right on his phone! He hadn't eaten, of course, so we stopped at Chick-fil-A and grabbed him a sandwich to take home. But first, we stopped to get our LP gas tank for the grill filled and that was another fiasco which I'm not going to bore you with. When we got home, the Visa bill in the mail showed QVC has refunded the money for my return, I found something left at home and...while Howard was eating his sandwich, Dave called to have lunch, TOMORROW!
QB, if you're repeating, I don't know it. I just keep laughing. Thanks for taking the time to lighten our days. And, how nice someone else fed you last night.
Janet, you should write a book! Something unusual is always happening to you.
These electronics are going to drive us all nuts!
Chipotle is so good and I snarfed all of mine down, but need a bit of something for supper.
So off I go. Have a good evening and sweet dreams.
Indy
