Hello, goegeous ladies! 😁
It was a beautiful day here today! We are busy prepping for more work on our house. We are having a rather large deck built, one that extends across the entire back of the house, and it goes out a few more feet than the old deck.
I hope you are all well! 🙏🏻

THANKS DIANE!
We had a lovely day here too!
I took myself to the city, got the Metro (like the subway/london tube) and then walked to the knitting store I wanted, it was quite a way, passed a bus stop to a metro station near where my car was, so I got the bus back, back on the Metro for 2 stops and then home, still only took me 3 hours total including shopping!
I have found my knotting, and found my book, but it is socks with a seam, I remembered one of our group to the UK was knitting socks, so I messaged her, and she sent me links to her favourite pattern, which the knitting store had similar, but hers seems just a little easier, i so I will get it tomorrow, it's only $2US, and I print it here.
Nothing else happening, Megan has now got Gary's bug, she sounds awful, but will work form home next 2 days, and hopefully be back feeling better soon, she said he is back to normal.
The Mr was jealous I went to the city, but he wanted to go to a bowling club annual meeting, then stayed and chatted with his friends, so tough luck he missed out LOL
I didn't know you couldn't kneel HOLLY, is that everyone?? Jo our neighbour seems to be able to do everything, he's a carpenter so does get right down sometimes, he's pretty fit though at 81 now, had the surgery a few months ago, both knees. He probably has pain, but ignored it LOL
INDY we've all done that - found the missing item, one tome mine was in the boot of the car, it has slipped out of the bag - that's my story anywa!
CHERYL you do get used to less white bread/pasta etc. I rarely have potatoes, and I do have my dark rye bread, and occasionally the sourdough I make. I find I get too bloated eating potatoes pasta etc. We do have lots of fresh veg, I have to buy a couple times a week usually. I do keep frozen peas, and a mix of peas corn and carrots, and also frozen beans, can't always get nice fresh ones. I am also buying brussels sprouts frozen, they are pretty good, they do go softer than I usually cook, but the Mr prefers them that way anyway.
SANDRA I am sure you enjoyed lunch with your guy, he is so reliable for you, make such a difference that he can visit and shop for you. Have you finished more Ladies yet?? They seem to be a good idea for doors, the Mr's sis has a pic of an owl on her door at the hostel. Some people have their picture. She has been at his brothers for the last =19.5pxcouple nights, but will be home now.
DEVONNE can you try a tonic of some sort, or multi vitamin, it takes a long time to go through clothing, I do it regularly and even though I toss I don't seem to end up with more room!!
It was comfortable on the Metro, but really cold A/C on the bus, and a bumpy ride, I haven't had a long bus ride for a long time here.
We got pizza tonight, thin crust and it was pretty good. I do like thin and crisp, and not so full of toppings it goes soggy in the middle. Now I want more to drink it must have been saltier than usual for me.
I'm heading back to my knitting and watch some TV as well, the A/C is warming us and it will be on every morning and evening now for a while, it was quite cold this morning, down to 40ish.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
1. PASTOR AGHAST AT FIRST LADY SEX POSITION.
2. MRS. CORSON'S SEAT UP FOR GRABS.
BEAUTIFUL SUNNY DAY HERE. I NEED TO CUT MORE LILACS BEFORE THEY ARE PAST IT.
HOLLY......YOU ARE ARE GETTING YOUR TABLERUNNERS DONE QUICKLY. GOOD WORK. I NEVER HEARD OF BUNGALOW LEGS BUT MUST HAVE THEM SINCE I DON'T DO STAIRS. JUST THE ELEVATOR .
JUDY.....MY FURNACE IS OFF AND HAS BEEN FOR MONTHS BUT MY APT GETS THE HEAT FROM BOTH SIDES, BELOW AND ABOVE SO ITS ALWAYS A BIT TOO WARM FOR ME UNTIL MY A/C IS IN.
DEVONNE......YOU HAVE REASON TO BE TIRED AFTER ALL YOU'VE GONE THRU. THE REST OF US ARE EITHR OVER-WORKED, OR LIKE ME, JUST OLD.
DIANE......WOW, A NEW DECK AND A BIG ONE AT THAT. YOU WILL HAVE LOTS OF SPACE FOR COOKOUTS.
TRISH.....THAT SOUNDS LIKE QUITE A TRIP INTO THE CITY. ITS BEEN AGES SINCE I'VE BEEN ON A BUS AND EVEN LONGER ON A TRAIN (LIKE 1960S). I HAVE BEEN ENJOYING PATRICIA ROUTLEDGE IN KEEPING UP APPEARANCES EVERY SAT. SHE'S A LAUGH A MINUTE.
SINCE ITS MY DAY OF REST, THE ONLY THING I NEED TO DO IS SORT, BAG, AND FREEZE MY MEAT ORDER. I THINK A TRIP OUTDOORS TO CUT MORE LILACS. THEN A BIT OF JIGSAWING IN THE COMMON ROOM. OTHER THAN THAT I WILL PLAY IT BY EAR.
MY SON SHOPPED FOR ME YESTERDAY AND WE HAD LUNCH TOGETHER. I TOLD HIM HE FORGOT MY WATERMELON, BUT WHEN I CHECKED MY COPY OF THE LIST I SENT HIM, I WAS THE ONE THAT FORGOT TO PUT IT ON MY LIST. I APPOLOGIZED PROFUSELY. I WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT BUT WILL WAIT TIL NEXT TIME.
I MADE THE TATER TOT SAUSAGE CASSY AND SHARED WITH NEIGHBORS AND MY SON. I HAVE ENOUGH TO HAVE LUNCH TODAY. FINISHED THE VEGGIE SOUP LAST NITE.
WISHING YOU ALL A GREAT DAY AND A FINE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. MEMORIAL DAY MEANS SUMMER IS AROUND THE CORNER AND AND THOSE WITH VEGGIE GARDENS HERE WILL BE TRANSPLANTING AND SEEDING THEIR BEDS WITH FOODSTUFF. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT.
HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

Sandra, I never heard the term til yesterday.
Trish, as far as I know, everyone. Ortho told me it would be like that. Before surgery I couldn’t kneel either due to pain and instability.
we had lunch at Texas Roadhouse with F and C. It wasn’t real crowded, I guess because of the holiday.
Trish, when you say you went to the city, which city?
I got the 7 tablerunners trimmed down, now to flip the right sides out, then topstitch/quilt them.

Holly, you did great on those table runners. Super fast! When did you have your knee replacement; both knees? I have been putting this off for years, dreading it. It's hard to get up at a restaurant after sitting for too long. Maybe a cane would help. My sister had knee replacement and now she is confined to a wheelchair. Not sure if it's because of her knees or just her overall health.
Trish, you are brave to take the bus and go into the city by yourself. You are so right about it taking a long time to go thru clothes. I haven't done this since way before I moved here. I didn't realize what I was getting into, lol. I'm going to try getting more sleep and I've already changed my diet so maybe those will help with the fatigue. I'll check into a multi vitamin as well. I have a low platelet count from my recent bloodwork. Maybe that is the reason?
Sandra, enjoy fresh lilacs as long as you can get them.

Devonne, I had my knees done in 2012 and 2014. With #2, I came home the next day, and had home PT for a few visits. They’ll probably want you to have an MRI to see the issues.

Had to hop off, Ralph’s TV died. It was 5 years old, they don’t make them like they used to! So he’s on the Sam’s Club site looking for one. He had a 60 inch smart tv. LOL, he’ll see what they have, then look for reviews.

Sandra, enjoy the lilacs! I have two bushes and love the smell, but it really does bother my allergies. I used to bring some of the branches into the house and put them in a vase, but cannot do that any longer. My nasal allergies have gotten much worse as I age.
Trish, I saw on the news the terrible flooding in Northern Australia. It looked awful. Tornadoes have been horrible here. Kentucky has been especially hard hit.
Holly, Dean had a double knee replacement and he can kneel for a short time. Doesn't love doing it, but he can. He has started running/jogging for a couple of miles again but it is starting to worry him. He does not want to injure his knees, so I don't know if he will keep it up. He used to run marathons and misses it. (I don't understand it at all! )
We went to a picnic at my DIL's parent's home yesterday. Lots of people came and we had a variety of food. My son, Anthony, had a birthday on Friday, so we celebrated it some too. Can't believe he is 45. Today was a boring day; nothing happened at all. Made taco salad for supper. Tomorrow Aaron and the kids will come over and we are going to make a fire in the fire pit and roast hot dogs and make s'mores. It will be the first of the summer.
Devonne, hope you get your energy back soon. Aaron is still tired most of the time and he has been going to they gym with his dad. Dean was surprised at how much weaker Aaron's left arm was compared to the right one. His left arm had all the lymph nodes removed and the surgery was on his left elbow. Hopefully he can get back some of the strength with weight lifting.
My nephew got to "ring the bell" a couple of weeks ago. His Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma is in remission. Thank you G*d. He lost 60 pounds on chemo, but he actually looks good with that loss as he was pretty heavy. Says he feels great.
Janet, stairs and falls are the enemy of us older people. Glad hubby did not get seriously hurt.

So much for getting the housework done today, the Mr has gone off, and I need to get moving!!
I had my winter dressing gown to wash but it's too big for the 1st load, so it will go in next
DEVONNE we live in Sydney - it's a huge area, we live to the north west of the city of Sydney itself, the CBD is what I think of as the city, it's not a big deal to travel by myself, we use buses, trains and metro all the time, very safe and easy to use. Tap on and off with a card, and for oldies it's only $2.50 for the whole day regardless of what type of transport you use, EXCEPT to get off the airport, it's more for that, they built the station and charge a fee, still only around $17, so it's cheap for us to get to the airport by train or metro, it would be $100+ each for the trip by private transfer. The metro is fairly new, been operating near us for a few years now, but only as far as the other side of the harbour bridge, then you had to change to get a train, but now it goes al the way, plus out further, they want it connecting all over in years to come. Billions and billions of dollars, but well worth it - the roads are getting clogged. And our train system is old.
Do you ever use the train or bus to shop or go places?
HOLLY good luck on the shopping, I hate our TV can't wait for it to give up, but it's fairly new, a Kogan, and never again, I'll stick with Sony or similar. Jo had both knees done at the same time, he might be like DEAN he does kneel, but probably only short times. Quick work on the table runners!!. I am working on socks right now they are SLOW - thin yarn, thin needles LOL
SANDRA I do love that show, she is so funny, I loved the one on the ship where her sister won a cruise. Funny about the watermelon, you will enjoy it next time! I am currently re-watchng Rizzoli & Isles.
I better get into it! I have lots to do, and not a long time to do it if I want some knitting or sewing time!
As some of you have noted, not doing stairs is not helpful as we age, try to get a small step somewhere and just step up and down on it, the girls jump it at training - good for balance and your legs, we do a step/tap one on steps, step on the step with on foot, bring the other to tap and set it back down, repeat with the other l.
We also practice getting up and down at yoga, she talk us through movements to help up get upright (gracefully - in my case not so graceful) but I can get up from laying or kneeling easily, plus getting/sitting in and out of chairs without holding onto arms of the chair, we use those darn legs for so much, need to keep them working well as long as possible.

Prayers for everyone who has lost a loved one in any war, etc.
I found out it's the Tamoxifen that is causing my fatigue. A lot of women quit taking it. I'll keep trying for another month or so.
Trish, no trains or buses near me. I live in a rural area with the cows, lol. I would need to go to Atlanta if I wanted to take the Amtrak train anywhere, which we've never had a need to do. We are getting a 2nd Chick-fila, just 2 miles from my house!
Headed over to visit Greg.

Devonne, thank you for your prayers and for remembering the purpose of Memorial Day. Although it is always good to honor all veterans, today is meant for especially honoring those who gave their lives in service. In our family, this day is doubly sad because my nephew Wyatt’s funeral was on Memorial Day.

Mary Lou, it must be so hard for you.
We have a high speed rail to Philly that I used when I attended Rutgers. The parking lot is several acres, and is always jammed. We do have busses, but they don’t go anywhere I want to go.
We went to Best Buy and Ralph got the tv he wanted, I think 40 inches. He had a 60, and it was too big for the room, so he went smaller. So many huge tv’s on display! It’s amazing how light weight today’s tv’s are.
It’s nice and sunny today, high around 70. Steph said it’s supposed to be 90 in OR this week, yikes! She and Dan are so glad they had AC put in when they got the new heater, every year it seems hotter out there.

Good Morning, I'm not feeling very bright this morning, so will be very brief. It rained here overnight, but not so this morning. Fortunately!!! It is also quite breezy, glad I'm staying inside today.
Have a wonderful day, everyone!! BJ.

Afternoon y'all!
Rained overnight, and is sunny now! Got our first cherry tomato today! Been on the go all day. Took Simba to a church up the road that has walking paths. He loves car rides and really loved walking somewhere new. He got to see Canadian geese and ducks and a green heron! He was a hoot!
Then back home to go to the park for our walk., home, to visit mom. They keep trying to crush her pills, most of them say do not crush then try to give it something she likes. I keep saying no to that but the "boss" says it's OK. I texted her and said no that I will remove the favorite foods if it continues. They don't get it! Mom has lost a ton of weight with all of this. So I push junk food, for the calories, and encourage, the healthy stuff too! I am so at a loss as to what to do. This current situation is not sustainable. They are going to either kill her or make her broke due to the cost!
I have been looking at personal care homes, they scare me! And at nursing homes! I don't know what to do! I will be making lots of calls tomorrow!
Luke is doing great. They want him to take over a person that's leavings job, it means a pay upgrade along with a promotion. He will have to compete, but they are already training him and looking at a class he would have to take! Only time will tell. He did get to shoot a civil war cannon this weekend!
Alex and Todd went to Tampa Bay this weekend to see the Rays play in their minor league park. They had fun! On the way home they stopped in Plains GA to see where Jimmy Carter grew up and to do the national park type stuff. Stopped in Columbus to go to a minor league park, watched the Clingstones play. Why Clingstones for a name? I knew this and had to explain it to hubby. Peaches, state fruit, comes in free stone or clingstone! That is the pit of the peach is the stone, and it either peels away easy from the fruit or clings to the fruit! I have just spread what little bit of knowledge I have! LOL!
Sara went to Virginia to a wedding of a friend, not in the wedding party this time. They were about 30 minutes from Shenandoah National Park and took the day to got hiking, it was an evening wedding!
So up till last night it was just me and Simba, just so you know I am safe from any and all moving shadows! I did tour 2 personal care homes, first one had a non-compliance sign out front, a no go! Second one was just weird. Starting to look at nursing homes and will start calling people tomorrow! I really want her back in assisted living, if we can, I fear a nursing home would be her death! I want mom to have a quality life!
Need to go. Making corn and steak for supper, rare we eat steak anymore!
Later my Friends!

OOPS lost my post, so I will try again.
THERESA so sad for you, getting mum the care she needs is difficult, can she walk at all?, maybe nursing home is the only option, assisted living here means that they need help, not full time care - there is not enough staff for that ((((hugs))))
SANDRA lilacs are so pretty, I rarely see them here, such a pretty smell. Good idea on cutting in the common room, there would be a table spare. and you can keep your jigsaw going too. I dislike the fireworks going for events, the big ones in the city are good, but see like everyone wants to start letting them off willy nilly. Annoys the heck out of me.
MARYLOU it's a sad day for your family especially, but hopefully filled with loving memories, anniversaries are the hardest (((hugs)))
HOLLY how is the TV, ours is large, not sure what size, but I am also amazed at how light they are, I can easily carry it by myself, the old Sony Bravia I can carry but it's really heavy. I actually was a little afraid someone might just bump it over it's so light - the new one!
DEVONNE we have lots of public transport, so we make use when we need to go to the city. John uses both trains and metro to get to work, and Pete used to use trains but he goes to work really early now, and they are less frequent when he leaves, so he drives, it's quicker. Warwick always went to work by train, at least you can sit and read, do crosswords etc instead of being stuck in traffic. John parks at the station, most of our stations have parking attached and it's free if you are scanning your card to use the train or metro, you just scan it again to get out of the carpark.
I have been trying to learn to knit on double pointed needles, they come in sets of 5 now, it used to be only 4, but many patterns now call for 5. There is a great tutorial ( she has a few) from Crazy Sock Lady, she's from the USA, and she does socks, with "how to" on you tube using double pointed, also using circular needles and she is so good at explaining, the patterns are all on Ravelry, and they are not expensive $2, and you print them, plus she has a time marker in the instructions on each pattern to show where to speed up the video to that point.
I tried and tried to caste on and use the 4 needles - it's not happening LOL, I dropped at least one needles worth each time I tried. It's so hard trying to make those tiny little things behave - they are small needles and thin yarn for socks, maybe I could do it with bigger needles, but I can't do the socks then, so I am now going to try to do the circular one pattern, I have to finish the pair I am knitting now that need to be sewn up.
And I need to get a bigger circular one, mine are too short, I was going to try using them till I could see why she suggests the longer ones, bit of a pain as I could have got one this morning when I went to the LQS. Wasting my time =19.5pxreally, but I want to see if I can do it!

Knitting has never been my thing, though I’ve tried many times. Crocheting was ok…made a large granny block afghan one baseball session, lol. Now that we’ve mentioned knitting I thing I will look for all the needles, wool, etc and give it to a friend who is a knitting “Queen”.
Rainy again today. Chilly but not cool enuff for the heat,
. HVAC guy is here to service the system.
Really need to get to the store but haven’t felt up to it for a few days now.

OOPS!
1. JERRY REMY THEN HIT AN RBI SINGLE OFF HAAS'S LEG, WHICH ROLLED INTO RIGHT FIELD.
2. ACCORDING TO THE REPORT, A VEHICLE APPARENTLY RAN OFF KETCH ROAD AND STRUCK THE MAILBOX AS IT ATTEMPTED TO GET BACK ON THE ROADWAY.
WHAT A PERFECTLY WONDERFUL DAY. SUNNY AND IN THE 70S.
HOLLY.......HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AND RALPH. HE'S GETTING A NEW TV IT SEEMS. AS TO SIZE, THEY SAY THAT YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE REALLY BIG ONES FOR BEDROOMS. THE BIG SCREENS CAN PLAY HAVOC WITH YOUR EYES. YOU SHOULD SIT AND WATCH TV A CERTAIN NUMBER OF FEET FROM THE TV DEPENDING ON ITS SIZE. I HAVE ONE THAT IS 45" IN MY LIVING ROOM.
THERESA........HEY, LUCKY YOU GETTING YOUR FIRST CHERRY TOMATO. HERE WE HAVE NOT EVEN TRANSPLANTED OUR TOMATOES INTO OUR GARDENS. THAT HAPPENS AFTER MEMORIAL DAY EACH YEAR.
THIS MORNING IS COFFEE MORNING BUT I RARELY MAKE IT. BY THE TIME I TAKE MY SHOWER, POST HERE, AND DO WHATEVER NEEDS DOING, ITS AFTER 11. BUT THERE ARE STILL LADIES THERE CHATTING AWAY. I USUALLY STOP BY FOR A CHAT ON MY WAY TO GET MY MAIL.
I WILL GET TO CRIBBAGE AFTERNOON LATER THO.
I STARTED A NEW JIGSAW PUZZLE YESTERDAY. ITS ANOTHER GARDEN ONE THIS TIME WITH A GREENHOUSE IN THE SCENE.
TRISH.......MANY YEARS AGO I TRIED SOCKS. I FIGURED THEM OUT ON THE 4 NEEDLES AND THEY WORKED WELL, BUT SLOWLY. THEN I THOUGHT TO MYSELF.....WHEN I GIVE THEM AS A GIFT THEY WILL BE WORN TIL THEY GET A HOLE (WHICH PROBABLY WILL BE BEFORE A YEAR OF WEAR) AND THEN TOSSED. WHY GO TO ALL THAT WORK AND TROUBLE TO MAKE THEM WHEN BUYING THEM IS SO MUCH SIMPLER.
THESE DAYS I ONLY MAKE THINGS THAT WILL BE USEFUL OR ENJOYED AS DECOR ESPECIALLY FOR HOLIDAYS. MICROWAVE HOT MATS, HANGING DISH TOWELS, COASTERS, PLACEMATS, TABLERUNNERS, TOTE BAGS, AND DOOR HANGINGS ARE PERFECT FOR THAT. THEY LAST FOREVER AND AFTER ALL THE WORK GOING INTO THE PROJECT, I DON'T WANT THEM TOSSED OUT IN A YEAR OR TWO.
I NEED TO GET MOVING. THINGS TO DO. WISHING YOU ALL A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S
