Happy Sunday, ladies! Can you believe this week brings us into April!? Crazy!! 🤪
Offline
Thanks DIANE, hope things are going well with you and yours!!
INDY hope you found the receipt, eventually it will turn up, or maybe it got tossed??? I know I have SOMEHOW thrown out potato peelers, one was a fantastic one, I couldn't find one anywhere like it, saw a lady on Instagram showing knife sets - and a peeler - exactly the one I wanted, went searching and low and behold Amazon have it, not mad about shopping with them, but I might have too, I'll check a few places in kitchen supplies first, now I have the wording for them right LOL
SANDRA I am guessing you haven't done much with the cardinal, it is a pretty little thing, I know there isn't a time frame for it so doesn't really matter. Enjoy your day of rest, and don't give too much away, keep some of your soup for you !!
I had sewing today, took my machine but also hand stitching, and ended up leaving the machine in the car boot LOL It was good to just sit and stitch not that I did much - talked to my sis for a while, and we pondered over one of our groups fabric choices, searching online for more fabric, and generally just chatting about it all,
Kym is very accurate, and the fabric she bought was directional, making it hard to do flying geese and square in a square, she ended up working it out with Julie but also decided on extra fabric in one of the colours and to change one colour she had already started using for the blocks, so not too much waste. That took quite a while LOL We can talk fabric and pattern layouts for hours LOL
This afternoon I was chatting to Megan when we heard the police helicopter overhead, she could hear it first, kept circling around near hour houses, then we could hear, they had announcements going, 2 kids missing one 11yo boy one 9yo girl, ad what they were wearing, so I went wandering while on the phone, she sent the boys out as well, and many neighbours were also looking, went on for almost an hour, finally they were found, no idea where etc, the message just came through that they were found, scary for the family, and hopefully the kids were ok, there are a few creeks with good water flow at the moment because of the rain, so lots of people looking in those areas.
That was my excitement for the day.
We ordered Chinese for dinner, and found that they are closed from tomorrow for 2 weeks, so that's Chinese take away out for the Mr's birthday!! Have to find somewhere else.
See you tomorrow
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hi all. Back from retreat but haven’t read yet. Will try to get back later today.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday! I got up early to do my taxes. It shouldn't take long at all. If I didn't have an IRA and pension income, I wouldn't file taxes at all.
It's a rainy day here in Georgia!

Good morning, Lots happening around here with the spring bulbs all up and colorful. Peonies are all leafed out. Mom and I are on our way to see an old friend. Dad will go with us but wait/nap in the car. Better than being left behind alone. Maybe an ice cream stop along the way? The annual Tulip Festival starts the first so traffic will be a nightmare throughout the county. It lasts a month, everyone expects it and the businesses thrive Love, Tracy

I will be leaving in 45 minutes to take Molly to the vet. I'm going to get her rabies shot today because I plan on using a mobile vet for her next groom. She will need her rabies shot for mobile grooming.
Can I vent here? I really don't know how to handle this, but Dee has gotten slower and slower and when I ask her when she can come, I feel like I am inconveniencing her. There's always excuses like "I have to pay the bills before I can head out" or "I don't know when I can come." Last week it took two different days to get them groomed and that's because she gets here so late in the day. She asked if she could leave all her stuff here and I said yes because she wasn't finished. Friday she got here at 2:30, spent an hour organizing her stuff and didn't start on the dogs until after 4:00. It was 8:00 pm before she left and I was getting tired. It's a dilemma because I don't want to hurt her feelings. Two little dogs could easily be done in one day.
Sandra, the pension I get from Billy's work puts me over the $25k. I never owe or get a refund, so it's ridiculous I have to file. However, this year I am getting a refund of $450, only because Fidelity took Federal withholding out of the funds I took out last year.
The rain got all of my cherry blooms. What is left have turned a pinkish color. My clematis is turning very green and should be blooming soon. That's all I have blooming in the backyard right now. I need to go to Lowes and get some flowers for my pots, but I'm waiting until the middle of April. I don't get flowers at Walmart anymore because they are always so root bound and not healthy.

IT WAS SO FOGGY THIS MORNING IT LASTED ALMOST TIL NOON. I WAS THINKING LONDON. BUT IT IS WARMER TODAY SO ITS OK.
MY SON AND HIS DEAR WIFE ARE IN CANCUN FOR THE WEEK. HE SENT ME A LOVELY PICTURE OF THE OCEAN OUTSIDE HIS ROOM. I LOVE THE COLORS OF TURQUOISE AND BLUES IN THE WATER AND SKY. THE FOG LIFTED BUT ITS GRAY AND LOOKS LIKE MORE RAIN.
I NEARLY FORGOT TO COME HERE TODAY. NOT MANY POSTING LATELY AND ITS DULLSVILLE ON ODT. I AM HAPPY THERE ARE SOME OF YOU THAT KEEP COMING, EVEN IF ONLY FOR A FEW LINES. ITS GREAT TO SEE YOU.
MY NEXTDOOR NEIGHBOR IS WEEDING OUT HER FABRIC. SHE HAD A SMALL CART LOAD WITH 8 FULL BOXES OF FAT QTRS AND HALF YARDS IN SO MANY COLORS. SHE CAME TO ME FIRST TO CHOSE WHAT I WANT FOR FREE. I GAINED SOME ORANGE I MAY NEED FOR FALL PUMPKINS ALONG WITH ABOUT 40 OTHER FQS. IN SHADES FROM YELLOW TO GRAY. I TUCKED THEM INTO A BIG PLASTIC TOTE BUT WILL SORT THEM BY COLOR TO JOIN MY STASH IN A DAY OR TWO. I WAS GOING TO DO THAT TODAY BUT FELL ASLEEP AFTER LUNCH.
DIANE.......I HOPE THINGS ARE GOING WELL FOR YOU. THANK YOU FOR REMEMBERING TO START OUR WEEKS NOW AND THEN.
DEVONNE.....I AM SORRY ABOUT YOUR GROOMER. IT SOUNDS LIKE WITH THAT PROCRASTINATING SHE IS SENDING YOU A SIGNAL THAT SHE'S NOT VERY INTERESTED IN COMING ANY LONGER. HER STALLING AND EXCUSES WOULD IRRITATE ME FOR SURE. I HOPE YOU CAN FIND A MOBILE GROOMER TO DO THE JOB.
JANET.......GLAD YOU HAD A DECENT TIME AT YOUR GROUP. TELL US ABOUT IT AND WHAT DID YOU GET DONE.

CAROL........HOW ARE YOU FARING LATELY? BUSY WITH YOUR DOLLS?
LINDA.......EVEN A FEW LINES ON ODT IS A PLEASURE TO SEE. THANKS FOR POSTING.
I FINALLY UPDATED MY COMPUTER LAST NITE AND IT TOOK HOURS. YES, HOURS FOR THE UPDATES TO HAPPEN AND THEN WHEN IT LOADED IT FROZE SO I HAD TO RESTART IT ONCE. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO NEED A NEW COMPUTER. BUT AFTER ALL THAT, ITS FINALLY WORKING WELL. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS MY THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE WALLPAPER IS GONE AND I CAN'T FIGURE HOW TO GET IT BACK AGAIN, OR ANY OTHER WALLPAPER. OH WELL, I GUESS I WILL GET IT FIGURED OUT EVENTUALLY.
I REC'D MY ECHO RESULTS IN THE MAIL AND THO I CANNOT FIGURE OUT MOST OF IT, I THINK ITS PRETTY GOOD. I WILL FIND OUT FOR SURE TOMORROW WHEN I SEE MY CARDIO DR. HE'S A SWEETIE AND HE WILL EXPLAIN IT ALL TO ME.
OK, THATS IT FROM ME. I HAVE CHICKEN BREAST BAKING IN THE TOASTER OVEN FOR MY CHICKEN RICE SOUP TONITE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

Well, I started and had a decent amount typed when things went south telling me "no internet" which wasn't true but it canceled all I'd written.
Yes, QB I tell all--TOO MUCH--and am often ashamed of that. Glad you girls are tolerant and accepting. I do rein it in sometimes because ALL would really be TOO MUCH! And, if anyone's looking for unboring, please pass on by my posts.
ML, my non-judgmental but straight forward "critic" tells me I've lost my filters, and that I get more upset with day to day issues than before. I suppose she's right. I, of course, blame everything on aging. Aging along with the physical limitations that didn't use to be. And both are part of life. These aren't gripes, just truthful observations.
QB, what a wonderful windfall. I'm sure this is one of your "feed-ees" and what a nice gesture on her part to give you first dibs. Maybe it will "up" your mojo for sewing. While we do love our long-held fabrics, it's nice to get some new ones, especially freely given. I still have the beautiful pale green fat quarter you sent me years ago. It's one of my faves!
Devonne, my post to you was part of what disappeared. But, these are the kind of things I get into and am not good at resolving without a lot of angst. I guess, tho, if this has been a slow drift to this situation, and not a one-time thing, you'll have to address it because even tho you and Dee may have become friends, even nominal friends, it's taking advantage and if she IS trying to quit, doesn't quite know how. Maybe give it one more try to know for sure?
I guess I'm vacilating because my girl is not herself and for some time, now, and none of us knows what to do. In fact, she's seeing a counselor in a few minutes--a woman whom we didn't even know does this, but who I've known for some years. Before we moved here, I sat next to her in the choir of the church where we both attended and she has a lovely low alto (solo) voice. I used to joke that when I stood next to Janet, I thought I sounded like her! Anyway, knowing her, I can see where counselling would be a good field for her. ML knows her a bit, too.
ML is filled with anxiety and hopelessness and despair after months of seeing various doctors and nurse practictioners with no one seeming to be able to help her. I can't even tell you what it is as no one, so far, has figured it out. It's female, and at their diagnoses and suggestions has tried estrogen, all sorts of ointments and potions and antibiotics and even a biopsy of which she's waiting for the results, and it's only gotten worse. It's like two different things, the physical discomfort and the emotional anguish. Bill had to come over here, yesterday, because she was so upset, she couldn't drive home.
So far, she's not been to a counselor or psychiatrist until today. I truly feel like this could the start of a breakthrough because of the way it all came together--no long wait for an appt., no jumping through hoops to not sound like a lunatic because it's two things and they're not treated by the same kind of professional. Well, I won't go on any longer. And maybe I should be erasing this...I don't want to betray her in any way.
Indy

Judy, prayers for ML to find some answers. It must be so frustrating for her.
There were 12 young people and one older one getting baptized on Sunday night. It was so heartwarming to hear their stories and see them baptized. (Their church does the full water dunking and the preacher was pretty wet .)
We had a "celebration" dinner and brownie sundaes after the ceremony and then I wanted to head home since severe storms were predicted. I do not like to ride/drive in the pouring rain. Thankfully we made it home an hour before the storm hit.
Devonne, so sorry your dr appointment was a bust.
Quiet day here; just went to the grocery store and got some necessary supplies. I plan on pork chops and cooked apples for supper. I had several apples that were getting old, so I cooked them down. They will be good with pork chops.
Nothing else to say, so will talk to you all later.

I forgot one thing I wanted to tell you. We had this ferocious storm late yesterday afternoon. Bill, ML and I were in the sunroom when it came up, instantly--70 mph winds, Howard heard, later. We heard a sharp crack and watched one of the pine trees next door break off and fall on their fence. Thankfully it was on the other side of their yard or could have fallen on our house/garage which sits back farther than their house. We also lost power for 6 hours. It came back on at 10:15 as we were headed for bed. ML lost power and so did Danny and Pam, 25 miles away!

Evening y'all!
We had thunderstorms earlier today! My car is no longer green!
Mom was sent to the ER on Thursday. I found out when I started getting texts from the hospital. This was not the one she had been going to. They, the facility, never called to tell me. When I got a human on the phone they could not find mom's nurse. This was the facility I was calling, I didn't know if someone stole mom's insurance information, or if my mom was on death's door! Very scary! The nurse called me back claiming she had called. When I called her on it the story changed. She told me mom's potassium level was critically high. Get to the hospital and am told the level is critically low! Real headscratcher! They kept her overnight. Got a call from the floor doctor, who asked why she came to this hospital, told him the story, he called the hospital that had been doing her surgeries and got her transferred. Come to find out her surgical wound had excessive drainage! BTW they also lost her glasses!
No surgery needed, drainage slowed enough to make them happy. Now to find another facility!
Nothing else exciting! Later my Friends!

Thanks for letting me vent. Yes, we have become friends and that's why it is so hard for me.
Molly has ear infections in both ears. She got an allergy shot and allergy medication. She also got antibiotics for her ears and an ointment I will use twice a day. It's so good to see her not itching. Vet bill was $291. Always expensive to go to the vet here.
Cheryl, you are going to laugh at this. I was going to a Methodist church when I wanted to be baptized, but they only did sprinkling. We reserved a local Baptist church's baptismal pool. Billy said I must have opened my mouth under the water because I was gurgling. Everyone got a good laugh, lol.
Judy, that storm came up fast. We had a lot of heavy rain earlier. today. We've had some bad weather come thru here. So very lucky, no tornadoes.
Marilynn called me last night. She said it was ok to share what she tells me on here. They found two black spots on her right breast and she had biopsies done last week. She doesn't know the results yet.
Theresa, so sorry all of this is happening with your Mom. Just breaks my heart.

Lots happening here today, sending everyone a big hug!!! We all need some love today (((((hugs))))))
INDY I feel for your poor girl, hope she can get some help, it's so distressing not being able to help. I know Megan has been suffering for some years - with the surgery behind her both her surgeons feel she will be feeling better in a couple months, her Gastro guy knows she still has some problems, but he can't find anything, and is hoping that her body will settle, he thinks the bowel has been impacted by all the rest of it.
In her case I doubt that is the problem, but I am hoping she has had all the tests to see if any fibroids etc are there, and also if she is having really severe menopause symptoms, it can happen ((((hugs))) you are safe venting here, we all can help by just listening if nothing else
You - oversharing - nope LOL that would be ME!!!
SANDRA you do so much for everyone else I am so glad you got first pick of the fabric, I just wish I was closer to you, I would be there every week, and we could chat or sew, or just watch Britbox together (((hugs)))
DEVONNE It's a dilemma - I think that she might be deciding to not work like that any more too, maybe you need to find someone else, I had a similar problem with a nail technician, she took forever to do my nails, THEN she also wanted a loan from me, she always paid it back, but I wanted it to be a gift so it would at least help out, she just kept moving the bills a few days away, in the end I stopped going to her, I heard later she gave her business up and went to work in catering. Best outcome, she got regular income and regular hours and hopefully could keep with bills.
THERESA It just doesn't stop, that nurse was so wrong, we had the same thing here, the nurse AND Dr said they had called, NOPE we have phones that tell when you missed call, so stop dodging. Why do they think that's acceptable, just be honest and confess, it's worth more to me than the lie. I hope she is feeling better, you must be at the end of your tether (((hugs)))
CHERYL I have never seen a full dip for a baptism, only in the Greek church for babies, I know my friend's DIL did the full water bath when she became Greek Orthodox, she had swimmers on, there is a special thing you do for all the water used to wash the clothes after, a full set of new clothes you need for after too, I thought it was a lovely service when we went to the babies services.
Really interesting.
I have spent time today at the LQS, I had lots of fabric left over from sis's oldest Grandson. The new baby is a boy officially, so I dug it all out and think I can salvage enough to make a cot quilt for him. I wanted to see if there was anything that would be able to be added in, I had a few pieces here to add, so will use them. None of the range is left of course, it's years old.
And I ordered my groceries, just got the message that they are ready.
We have a new fruit/veg store opened locally so I will get all that when I go down to pick up the groceries, We have all decided to buy our fruit etc there, they are similar price to the big chains, but the quality is better I think, not stored in fridges for months.
I did notice that the big supermarkets are putting on more specials, but our local facebook page has been telling people to keep supporting the local, so we don't lose it. Hopefully they stay!!
I better get moving. I want to see how many blocks I can cut out for the quilt.
Funnily enough out of all the books I took to give away, this pattern comes from one of the ones not taken, seemed like a sign when I browsed through it yesterday and found this pattern. LOL I shouldn't have been so quick to toss out LOL

Hugs to everyone! Sounds like lots are needed for various reasons.
Sandra, you may have been losing at bingo lately but you sure hit the jackpot with those fabrics.
This is no April Fools joke, we are under a winter weather watch for possibly 12" of snow!!!! Good thing is it will melt quickly and we really do need the moisture because we've also been under fire weather warnings.
Take care everyone!

EXCUSES.......
1. PLEASE EXCUSE FRED FOR BEING ABSENT. HE HAD A COLD AND COULD NOT BREED WELL.
2. PLEASE EXCUSE BURMA, SHE HAS BEEN SICK AND UNDER THE DOCTOR.
ITS PRETTY NICE TODAY WITH SUNSHINE AND MID 40S TEMPS. LO AND BEHOLD, IT WON'T LAST. SNOW TOMORROW.
PATTY......WE, TOO, ARE EXPECTING SNOW. TOMORROW THEY TELL US TO SEE 3 INCHES OF THE WHITE STUFF. WILL IT NEVER END.
THERESA.......SORRY TO HEAR YOUR NEWS. ANOTHER PLACE FOR MOM. HOW HEARTBREAKING FOR HER AND ALL THAT WORK FOR YOU, AGAIN AND AGAIN. PRAYERS THERE IS A GLORIOUS END IN SIGHT SO YOU CAN REST EASY.
JUDY.......I HAVE FABRIC THAT I ADORE, TOO, AND JUST LIKE TO SEE IT NOW AND THEN.
MARILYN......PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS FOR YOU GIRL. I HOPE THE NEWS IS GOOD.
DEVONNE......POOR MOLLY. AT LEAST THE ITCHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED.
TODAY I SEE MY CARDIO DR AND HE CAN TELL ME WHAT'S NEXT ON MY MENU.
I HAVE SOME KEYS THAT NEED COPYING. MY DAUGHTER HAD MY SET STOLEN OUT OF HER CAR THE OTHER DAY AT THE DOG PARK. SOMEONE BROKE MY GRDAU'S DRIVER'S WINDOW AND GRABBED HER PURSE UNDER THE SEAT. SHE HAD HER GROCERY MONEY IN THERE, TOO, SINCE THEY WERE GOING SHOPPING AFTERWARDS. ANOTHER 2 CARS IN THE PARKING LOT HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO THEM THAT DAY. SO I NEED MORE KEYS. I WANT 3 SETS OF DOOR AND MAILBOX KEYS MADE. ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE SPARES.
NO OTHER PLANS TODAY. STAY SAFE. HUGS. QB S

Good Morning to everyone!! Sorry to hear about the problems some of you seem to be having. It is pouring down rain here. Elly has gone to the groomers, so that's nice to have that done.
It is so gray outside, not a breath of air moving. I really don't have a thing to say this morning, so will sign off, hoping your day goes better. BJ.

Evening y'all!
Not dark yet but the sun is setting. Beautiful day here!
Mom is doing good. Still in the hospital, she will stay until her labs stabilize and the Infectious disease doctor releases her. I have a list of 4 places. Probably won't get into 2 of them.
I did email the facility that sent her to the hospital. They knew nothing about the loss of her glasses, and the director of nursing will call me about everything else. Not holding my breath on any of it!
Simba is doing good. He is spastic. Full of energy! I know one day I will wish he had that energy back! He is a hoot. He can entertain himself. It's funny to watch him.
Luke, as always is fearful of losing his dream job. If he makes it through April, he should be good for a while. Not sure what that while will be. The is always the chance that they move him to another park. Only time will tell!
I got a jury duty summons!
Nothing else new! Later my Friends!
