Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

DEVONNE I knew they did the marks with a kind of good marker (not tattoo ) , it does come off eventually, but they need it to stay dad had it in 1984 - Mr Google doesn't always give the best advice LOL Japan is fantastic, haven't been there myself, but lots of the family have and Julie has had 2 groups go there, she wants to go again in 2027, the trains are amazing, and everything runs very efficiently

Much like Google is Ancestry -- My brother is using Ancestry to look up history he just won't believe me when I tell him to take it with a gain of salt, he thinks it's absolutely true, he now believes we are connected to someone who is absolutely NOT part of our tree, but they have somehow been adding things to Ancestry, you can delete the suggestions they send you, mostly I have done so, because I have actual Births, Deaths, Marriages from an aunt, she paid in the UK to have official records. I was going to pay and join the Ancestry site, but have no intention after reading their 'free' hints, put out by other people looking into our family info.

INDY I am so sorry H has now got the bug, so  much going around, even here, we are still having covid outbreaks, and also the new 'flu, as well as measles, there have been a few cases of that as well. someone from China came in and their child had it, and spent 5 hours in emergency in the children's hospital. YIKES!!

Sorry about the sewing SANDRA - I am glad she is happy and you found a solution

I have sciatica, pain in the 'you know what' well actually down my leg and arm the hip, doing plenty of stretching to help it, but didn't sleep much las night, just get comfy and fall asleep and mu leg moves so the pain starts again LOL

I am going to start some new threads, but it shouldn't affect anyone coming in to post.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Good Morning to everyone!!  I am feeling pretty rough this morning, can't seem to get moving.  Have to get myself a little more active, not sure how.  Know I need to keep moving around a bit.  I'm going to have to do that but not sure how!!

Well, I'm going to sign off!  I keep making mistakes so  I really must go!  Have a wonderful day, everyone, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

BJ, you're not the only one!  It pretty much takes me til noon to get going.  And it's worse right now after being sick.  Still coughing but feel much better, just tired.  Mom used to do Sit and Be Fit on PBS and, of course, I made fun of her.  But now, I'm seriously thinking of starting it.  Could that work for you?

My making fun of Mom  was all in "good fun".  She took it well, because I did it all my life and she knew I loved her.  She got her licks in, too, though was never as silly as I can be.  I have no one to "devil" these days.  Howard's never been a good candidate!  His sense of humor and mine are miles apart.

I sat out on my little bitty deck for a long time this morning. literally roasting in the sun.  Had to go to the garage and get my straw hat to even tolerate it.  But, it felt so good.  Now, it's turned cloudy and chilly.  We're in for wind-driven rain this afternoon and 1" of snow overnight.
The good thing?  It'll be gone in a jiffy.

QB, oh me too!  We soooo would get another dog but for your reason and the worse one.  Plus, honestly, I can't take care of another soul.  Part of our trouble is the distraction and care of Fancy we did, in tandem.   Howard says he can still feel her lying between his knees in his outstretched recliner.   I find myself checking for her on the floor so I don't step on her and stopping myself from calling her to clean up the endless food I drop. But "For every time there is a season"... etc. hangs on our bathroom wall and it is so true.  We still have our bird but he's upstairs and I seldom need to go up there, now.  And a bird is not a mammal you can love on.  Everything is on his terms or he offers to bite.
How lovely that Matt and Daphne are able to vacation quite regularly.  I always love hearing about their holidays.  So happy for them...

I have a cardio appt. tomorrow so need to get off here and fill out the My Chart "pain in the neck" .  Half the time I have to get a new password and all that rigamarole.  Oh well...modern living...

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Judy, Dean and I tease each other all the time.  We are so sarcastic that others would think we were spatting.  We laugh and laugh and have for years.  Thank goodness we have the same sense of humor.  Out two boys picked up on it also, but unfortunately, both wives do not have the same humor and sometime it falls on deaf ears or they get bewildered looks.    We are a goofy family.

Janet, good luck on the organizing.  I really should do the same, although, I have very little compared to you. I have maybe 3 large totes, 3 small ones and some things in my sewing room closet. (Batting, unquilted tops, works in progress, etc)  I have lots of patterns that I have never used or no longer use, so I should donate them.

Nothing else to say here, so wishing you all a good evening.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

I sat outside and enjoyed the 78 degree weather yesterday. Not happening today, as it's windy and much colder.

Wayfair has a Spring sale going on. I ordered a cabinet for my laundry room, which will need to be put together. I was so surprised when I once ordered a lamp and the shade came rolled up. I got little clips to attach it to the metal. Things are sure different in today's shipping world.

Sandra wanted me to let you know she is having computer problems and isn't able to post yet.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

THANK YOU DEVONNE FOR PASSING ON MY MESSAGE.
ITS NOT BEEN MY DAY.
BETWEEN PUTER ACTING UP AND FINALLY WORKING AFTER A REBOOT TO ALL MY SYSTEMS, I ALSO WAS ON THE PHONE WITH 2 DR OFFICES MAKING APPOINTMENTS WITH MY DAU AND THEM.  ON MONDAY I HAVE AN ECHOCARDIOGRAM SCHEDULED AND THEN BACK TO MY REGULAR DR FOR THE RESULTS ON WEDNESDAY AND CHECKING ME OUT ON BP AND PULSE READINGS.   THEN ON APRIL 1ST AN APPT WITH MY CARDIO DR WHO MAY BE PUTTING ME IN A HEART MONITOR.  I HATE, HATE, HATE DR APPTS.  THEY UPSET ME AND MY DAYS AND MAKE ME NERVOUS.   HENCE, NOT MUCH ACCOMPLISHED THOUGH I HAVE ACTUALLY HAD MORE ENERGY THAN I'VE HAD IN MONTHS SO THE PILLS MUST BE WORKING.
ENOUGH OF MY COMPLAINTS.
DAY WAS FOGGY AND THEN GRAY ALL DAY.  EXPECTING MORE RAIN OVERNITE AND TOMORROW.
I ALSO NEED TO COOK TOMORROW SO WILL PULL UP MY BIG-GIRL PANTIES AND GET IT DONE.  NO MORE PUTTING THINGS OFF.

WISHING YOU ALL A FINE EVENING.  AND A HELLO TO SPRING TODAY.  FIRST DAY OF SPRING AND LOTS OF LOVELY FLOWERS AND COLOR TO LOOK FORWARD TO NOW.
HUGS LADIES, QB S

Linda, I forgot to thank you for the St. Patrick's Day card. I loved it! Thank you for the prayers. Keep them coming! How are you & Darrell doing?

Theresa, was Luke able to get out of the lease?

I called Marilynn today. No answer, but she called me back. She seems to be hanging in there.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

You know you have enough fabric, project, UFP’s, kits when you go into a fabric store and come out with just a package of needles!  I really didn’t need them but I felt funny walking out with out buying anything. 🤭
Warm and sunny day just turned in to a cold and windy evening.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Janet, I know I have enough fabric. But I still came out of a store today with two fat quarter bundles, a coordinating background and backs for two other quilts!

An odd thing happened at retreat this week. Monday evening, I couldn’t find my insulated water bottle, asked everyone there if they had seen where I left it. No one had. A little later, I noticed a lady I didn’t know with it or one exactly like it in her hand. I asked about it and she claimed it was hers. I looked everywhere including kitchen cabinets. . This morning, one of her friends handed it to me and said she had found it in the cabinet.

TWO-HEADED HEADLINES......
US FOOD SERVICE
FEEDS THOUSANDS
GROSSES MILLIONS

ITS ANOTHER RAINY DAY HERE.  I GUESS OUR FORESTS COULD USE THE RAIN TO KEEP THEM FROM DRYING OUT TOO MUCH.  AS FOR ME, I COULD DO WITH LESS.
MY NEIGHBOR MICHELE COMES HOME TODAY.  I ALREADY TOLD HER I'D HAVE SOME VEGGIE BEEF SOUP READY FOR HER SUPPER.  SHE IS HAPPY SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO COOK.

I HAVE THE TATER TOT SAUSAGE CASSY TO MAKE AS WELL.  ITS MY SON'S FAVORITE AND SINCE I WON'T SEE HIM AFTER THIS WEEKEND FOR 3 WEEKS WITH HIS GOING TO MEXICO WITH HIS BRIDE, I WANT HIM WELL FED BEFORE HE LEAVES.   ALSO, IT WILL PAY FOR THE BIG ORDER HE WILL BE FILLING FOR ME THIS TIME.  I NEED 3 WEEKS OF FRESH FOODS AND SNACKS.

MY ENERGY AND BP SEEM TO BE DOING OK.  THAT'S ALWAYS GOOD NEWS.  I JUST WISH THE SUN WOULD SHINE.

WHEN I WENT TO QUILT SHOPS I ALWAYS THOUGHT I SHOULD BUY SOMETHING AS WELL.  USUALLY CUTTING BLADES WERE A GOOD THING SINCE YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH.
I HAVEN'T HAD BREAKFAST YET SO IT LOOKS LIKE FRUIT AND OJ FOR ME THIS LATE MORNING.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Good morning.  I just finished my weekly pill fill task.  I do Howard's evening pills, too.  We both inevitable drop at least one if we don't do it on a towel.

Mary Lou, that was odd???  Kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth when someone lies to your face.  And especially in a situation like that.  Thinking about it, though, maybe she thought it was hers to use while there,  having found it in the cupboard. We often don't know what motivates others...

I had a routine cardio appt. yesterday and everything was okay, even good.  Doctor told me to keep on doing everything the same.  He's such a nice man, funny and kind.

Afterwards, we had lunch at Culver's.  I love their Reubens and Howard had a walleye sandwich.  Then, on to W-M for Rxs and OTC needs.  I have a chauffeur again!

It was 32 degrees when we got up, but is slightly sunny outside and warm in here.  And we have nowhere to go for a few days.

Have a good day, and weekend.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Marylou, put your name or initials on the bottom. Carter and I had the same design on our Carnival refillable ones on our last cruise and that's what we did with a black Sharpie.

I'm going to make a broccoli casserole today. The lady on You Tube got me motivated, but I will cut the recipe in half. She used stuffing mix on the top of hers and poured broth over it. I'm using Ritz crackers instead with melted butter.

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

I go to a lot of retreats and always label my stuff…including extension cords, irons, wool pressing mat, etc.!  I take a picture of my notions, etc so I know exactly what I packed.
Marylou’s…things like that happen all the time at retreats….always surprises me.  I’ve even seen fabric go missing overnight.  😡

Re: ODT SUNDAY MARCH 16 ~ SAT MARCH 22

Happy spring, all!!  I am ready for it even though we did not have a terrible winter.  It had some cold, cold days, but not much snow in my area.  My daffodils are blooming and look so festive.  My lilacs and azalea bushes have fingernail sized buds, so they will be out soon.  Spring is my favorite time of year with all the new blooms and freshness.

Amelia and Gabriel are on the way to Florida with their mom.  They drove all night. She was supposed to pick them up at 4:30 p.m. from us last night but did not get  here until 8:50 p.m.   We were afraid that she was at a bar, but Amelia called her and she was getting hair extensions put in and dying her hair.  Kids were very upset because she always does this.  Then they had to go to a repair shop and pick up her car and then pack the luggage to go.  Such poor planning.  However, they did get going and are now in South Carolina about to enter Georgia.  Gabriel said he was not counting on this trip until they reach their condo in Orlando as he knows his mom will find a way to cancel.  Thank goodness she did not and they will be gone all week for spring break.  They are going to Universal Studios.  We have never been there, but have been to Disney and Epcot.

It is rather cool once again and cloudy, but it is the typical pattern here.

Sandra, sending good vibes for your doctor appointments.  I, too, HATE going to them.  My cardiologist is a tiny little women (Dr Mayuga) and she is so warm and caring, but I still get that dreaded "white coat syndrome" as my blood pressure usually shoots up high in her office.  I see her in May just for a routine follow up.

Judy, good to hear your doctor appts went well.  I imaging Howard is relieved to be driving again.  Dean almost always drives when we go places.  The younger people are different; Emmily drives up from Columbus if they are in "her car" and Anthony drives if they are in"his van".  Aaron and Katie do the same.  I always defer to Dean in his truck or my car.  I just go get in the passenger seat and wait.

I am trying to figure out what quilt top to make next.  I am kind of tired of the scrappy things, so maybe I will look for a cute kid pattern, perhaps with applique.  I am going to have to order some batting soon since I did not get it at Joann's before they closed.

Dean, Aaron and Katie and I are going to Texas Roadhouse tonight for supper.  Aaron's birthday is March 23, but we will go tonight to celebrate.

=19.5pxGOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE!!  NOT SURE WHY EVERYTHING IS IN BIG LETTERS, BUT WE'LL GET THROUGH IT FOR NOW!!  IT IS 50* OUTSIDE AND REALLY BEAUTIFUL.  We are getting ready to leave for awhile.  Tracy is here, along with her daughter, Larissa, so we'll all be going for awhile.  Well, they are calling me, so I'd better get moving.  Hope you all have a wonderful day, sending love and best wishes, BJ.
