Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLLY, I am sorry I missed it, I meant to send wishes when I saw SANDRA had sent hers.
BJ & TRACY I am so sorry you had such a time or it. Hugs to you all and I really hope you feel better and there is o lasting aches and pains for Frank ((((hugs))))
SANDRA Yo haven't ha so much snow this year, I seem to remember it was higher AND longer last season. Lucky as it does affect you with power outages. I have been keeping quiet last few days, I just haven't been feeling up to par either, no idea why. Just a little bump in the road LOL
DEVONNE thanks for the info on the bed head, I suspected it must have to be attached. I was wondering about the post office notifications, our is something different, when I order online they send it otherwise the post office, they set up a delivery for th package and track it. It's not for general mail, just packages, which I have a few of this week, I referred 2 dresses ( I never wear them usually ) and some bras, and just now ordered some fabric. So I have 3 coming LOL
I have only a few bras that fit me well and I wash/wear and wash/wear them. So I ordered a few more, NOW I need to cleanup the drawer, no point in hanging on to the others for a rain day LOL
The Mr had a busy weekend, played bowls all weekend, and was late home, I had cooked dinner, he didn't even call the wretch, we were getting worried. Just keeping my mouth closed and my opinions to myself. I suspect he hasn't used his eye drops after having a stick in the eye, he is supposed to put drops in 4 times a day, be lucky if he's done them 2 times a day. His choice, and Pete and I have reminded him - gently - and are now butting out!!
I have been playing with my Alice Fabric, I decided to do a couple spread sheets, one with blocks numbered and which fabric I want to use, the other the reverse, so I have a choice to see what fabrics I am using more (or not at all ) It's taken a while, but it IS fun playing with fabric
Nothing else happening here, it has been a beautiful day, cool and sunny, jus the way I like it LOL
It will be so nice to sleep tonight, not humid and I might have a quilt on instead of just a sheet!!

Around here you can call whoever BUT don’t expect a live person to answer. It immediately goes to an outgoing msg telling you to call a different dept. for example…remember when DH was attacked by 3 pit bulls when jogging? He managed to get away but not without significant injury to his leg and hand. We went to Velocity Care (an emergency center, not the hosp ER because it was must closer and usually less crowded). Anyway, they told us to report it to Animal Control so they could try to catch the dogs…I called and got a recording to call the Sheriffs Dept, got a recording to call the Health Dept…their recording was to call Animal Control and so on and so on. The next morning we went to our PC who said to go to ER and call Animal Control…same msgs. ER had to start the rabies series because there wasn’t anyone to locate and catch the dogs to test them. Blah blah
blah… I called every day and finally was able to leave a msg at the health dept who called back about 10 days later and said to start the rabies series …😵💫. So the moral of the story around here is there is little or no immediate response….BTW 911 told me that dog bites aren’t a 911 issue. 🤪. Joggers round here, if they’re smart carry their own dog protection and I don’t mean just pepper spray. The other day DH was followed by a coyote, in daytime….but not for long. The saying around here with the locals is to follow the 3S’s…shoot, shovel, shut up.
Sorry about the ramble…there is a somewhat local Volunteer Rescue Squad but you leave a msg and they decide if they want to respond.

Janet, how scary that is when he goes jogging. Does he carry pepper spray and a g*un? I won't walk in my neighborhood although we have sidewalks. I'm so afraid of being attacked by a dog or dogs.
Trish, I could have gotten a headboard that was wall mounted but I didn't want it on the wall. Hope you're not getting sick.
I made homemade biscuits this morning. They are the best ones I've ever made. I did the heavy whipping cream and self rising flour recipe. So easy! 2 cups of SR flour and 1 1/2 cups of whipping cream...that's all. It made 7 biscuits. I will freeze some of them.
Greg is almost in Vegas. He sent me flight pictures of a lot of snow. Wish I felt like going with him. We always have a good time out there together. Carter is on a cruise with his Mom and her parents.

I RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING EMAIL JUST NOW FROM THERESA.....
"I have no power from last night’s storms.
Mom is back in the hospital with a dislocated hip. She will not return to this rehab facility. She will have a closed reduction this afternoon under anesthesia.
Luke did get laid off from the park service. If anyone has connections he really needs them right now.
Sara and Alex are doing great.
My plan today was to catch up on the board but we will not have power until close to supper. The house is getting quite chilly. 🥶.
Nothing else exciting from my little corner of the world." 🌎 [size=200]Sent from Gmail Mobile

Power has flickered a few times due to the winds I guess. Here we go again.

It is cold, snowy and icy. Dean is out plowing the driveway and then will go do the two widowed neighbors he has adopted.
Our electricity went off for only about 20 minutes, so that was a relief. Usually it is off for quite a while. We have lots of trees in the area of the electrical lines and storms, especially ice ones, bring down the branches and limbs.
Happy birthday Carol.
Theresa, so sorry about Luke losing his parks job; that is such a terrible thing going on right now. I love the National Parks.
We lost Dean's brother yesterday. We are so sad about losing him, but relieved that he is out of his pain and misery. He was bed-ridden, in diapers and in extreme pain the past few days. He wanted it to end. Hospice brought a hospital bed for him a few days ago and it helped with turning him and trying to get him to eat. Hospice is a wonderful organization in our experience. He and Dean were really close all of their lives, so Dean is taking it really hard. Bill and his wife, Janis, were married for 51 years.

Belated Happy Birthday to Holly!
Mine was good. Nothing happened. That was what I wanted since last week was very busy, and the next three weeks are more of the same. Whatever happened to slowing down in retirement?
Devonne, I make those biscuits too, except I cut the flour to 1 3/4 cups and add 1/4 cup of sugar. I bake them in my scone pan. Glen loves them with walnuts.
Theresa, so very sorry about Luke and your mom. You just can't buy a good moment right now, can you?
Sandra, it's good that Matt drops by to see you even when he isn't shopping. You raised him right.
BJ, it's good to see you here every day. I'm sorry about your and Frank's issues. I hope everything is better.
Linda, are you and Darrell feeling better? I hope you are hanging in there with the power issues.
You too, Janet, with your problems over there. Yikes!
Trish, good for you for committing to that eating plan. We do better when I plan the meals ahead of time, but some days it's really hard to get motivated.
Cheryl, I'm so sorry to hear about Bill. Special thoughts and prayers for you and Dean.
Talk about the weather roller coaster. Here are the highs: Last Friday 69. Saturday 80. Sunday 51. Today 59. Tuesday 69. Wednesday 48. Thursday 42. Friday 50. Rain off and on. We're expecting a hard freeze Thursday morning. Or Thursday and Friday mornings depending on which weather guessers you're watching at the moment.
I had two weddings on Saturday. The first was very small--15 people total. I have no idea why the minister and the wedding assistant thought they needed a volunteer helper, but I was there. The second one was huge: 200 guests, 12 attendants on each side (who needs 12 bridesmaids?). The cool thing was that our church is across from the art museum, and that was the reception venue. They hired a Dixieland "second line" jazz band (think New Orleans parades) to lead them across the street. Thankfully they also hired Houston police officers to stop traffic. I got to watch from the church steps. Since it was Saturday night across Main Street there was a lot of traffic that stopped. I heard honking horns and thought someone was upset. No! They were honking and hanging out of the car windows to cheer the wedding party. It was so neat to see.
My birthday present from my sister and husband is a cordless iron/vertical steamer. Boy does it work! I pressed a lot of fabric and quilt blocks yesterday. Only someone who sews a lot would think an iron is a great birthday present.
Off to the grocery store this morning. It's up to 41 degrees, so I guess I'd better get moving.

ADS GONE WRONG.......
1. WE DO NOT TEAR YOUR CLOTHING WITH MACHINERY. WE DO IT BY HAND.
THE STORM LASTED ALL DAY OFF AND ON BUT IN THE END I DON'T THINK WE GOT EVEN 8 INCHES. MORE LIKE 6. IT WAS JUST NASTY. SUNNY AND GUSTY WINDS TODAY WITH TEMPS IN THE 20S AGAIN THEN SINGLES AT NITE.
HAPPY PRESIDENTS DAY MY FRIENDS. ANOTHER DAY OFF FOR THOSE THAT WORK TO MAKE ENDS MEET.
CAROL.......LIKE YOU I THINK A GOOD IRON IS A GREAT GIFT FOR A QUILTER. I LOVE MINE. NEVER LEAKS WHICH IS MY PRIMARY REQUIREMENT, A BLACK AND DECKER SO NOT EXPENSIVE EITHER.
CHERYL......SO SORRY TO HEAR THAT DEAN LOST HIS BROTHER BUT IT SEEMS HE WAS READY. ITS THE FAMILY THAT ARE NEVER READY FOR THAT.
I FELL ASLEEP BEFORE SUPPER SO WHEN I WOKE I DID NOT FEEL LIKE ROASTING THE VEGS AND PORK CHOPS. INSTEAD I SHAKE N BAKED THE 2 CHOPS IN THE TOASTER OVEN AND HAD CANNED CREAM CORN AND SOME COTTAGE CHEESE FOR SUPPER. WORKED EASY PEASY FOR ME. TODAY I WILL ROAST THE TATERS AND CARROTS SO THEY CAN BE A SIDE FOR LEFTOVERS, WHICH I HAVE. I ONLY EAT HALF A CHOP AT A MEAL WHEN I HAVE ENOUGH SIDES WITH MY MEAL.
I ALSO AM DEFROSTING SOME PIZZA DOUGH TO MAKE SOMETIME THIS WEEK.
WATCHED A GREAT DOCUMENTARY ON NATURE TITLED "EXPEDITION KILLER WHALES" ABOUT ORCA WHALES IN THE ANTARCTIC AND THEIR HUNTING METHODS. THOSE PODS ARE SO INTELLIGENT AND THEY NOT ONLY MAKE TOOLS WORK FOR THEM BUT THEY CHANGE PLANS ACCORDING TO THEIR NEEDS. FANTASTIC. I RECOMMEND THE PROGRAM AS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
I GOT MY LAPS IN THIS MORNING AND THEN I WORKED ON MY JIGSAW PUZZLE WHICH I HAVE NEGLECTED LATELY. ITS COMING ALONG SLOWLY, BUT ITS FUN.
TODAY I WILL HANDLE A COUPLE OF HOUSEHOLD CHORES AND THAT ROASTING OF VEGGIES. MY NEIGHBOR NAN IS COMING OVER TO SEE IF THE BACKGROUND FOR THE CARDINAL WALLHANGING IS A 'G0.' I THINK ITS A GOOD ONE. WILL SHOW UP THE BIRD BUT ADD SOME COLOR TO THE BACKGROUND TOO. THAT'S THE ONLY THING SHE WILL HAVE A DIRECT SAY IN THIS PROJECT.
I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A DECENT DAY AND THE POWER STRUGGLES ARE A THING OF THE PAST. THAT STORM REALLY HIT HARD IN THE SOUTH.
HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

Good afternoon. Brilliant sun on the snow. blinding, actually. There's about 4 inches on the deck rail. Yesterday, a male cardinal was hopping around--glorious red against the white snow. It's in the single digits.
Theresa, so sorry about your Mom's displaced hip. I hope it's a fairly easy fix if anything IS when one is in their 90s. Hope you have your power back by now.
Happy belated birthday, Carol. Nice of your sister to pick something so useful for your gift.
Interesting dichotomy with those two weddings. It must be fun to be involved in weddings and making things go smoothly for someone's special day.
Ala QB, here's a couple of funnies: 'Next week has been exhausting.'
And: 'When life shuts a door...open it again. It's a door! That's how they work,'
Saturday, Howard had his EEG. The roads were clear so I drove with no problem. Afterwards, we stopped and brought home a Little Caesar's pizza. We hadn't had one for years and it was quite good.
Cheryl, my deepest sympathy for the loss of Dean's brother. It's lovely to hear they were close friends as well as brothers. Seems that's too often not a given these days. Love and blessings for all of you.
Working on the kitchen. Need some lunch. Howard is finishing his. We eat separately at lunchtime as he often skips it. Not me. I'm here for every meal!

Carol, happy birthday! What brand iron did she get you?
Cheryl, I'm so sorry to read about Bill's passing. Did he live close to you and Dean? His wife is going to be lost for awhile after being married so long.
Theresa, will Luke come back to Atlanta? You and Todd did so much to get him situated. So sad about your Mom. You have your hands full....again.
Carol, I don't put any sugar in my biscuits. I don't knead them either. I did see on YT where a lady makes these same biscuits and she uses them to make strawberry shortcake.

I am so very sorry CHERYL please accept my deepest sympathy, please let Dean know we are thinking of you all ((((hugs)))) Sounds like Bill was ready to leave this earth, they were so lucky to have each other in their lives.
CAROL HAPPY BIRTHDAY I hope it was a wonderful day, and too funny about the services required for the small wedding. I hope they all had a good time. I love the idea of the iron for you, so handy!
DEVONNE seems so funny to hear you making those "biscuits" when we would call them scones, there are lots of recipes for them with cream and lemonade (or any kind of fizzy drink) I have had them with ginger beer, also lemon soda, both delicious, no sugar needed, they can also be done with soda water, but add a tablespoon of sugar.
SANDRA Matt is surely a great son, and a wonderful help to you, I am glad he spends some time with you. I think it's so nice of you to make a wall hanging for your neighbour. I don't like making things either for people if THEY want to choose everything, the boys asked me for colours, but that was all.
BJ I hope both you and Frank are feeling better. It takes a while to recover, rest when you can.
THERESA you sure can't take a break can you, sorry about Luke's job, he was enjoying it so much. How on earth could they have let your mum get a dislocated hip. Sounds terrible. Did she have a fall, or are they just really slack in that facility.
I had training this morning, then my haircut. I also got a couple more bras, I haven't bought any for such a long time, does anyone else HATE that "lengthen the straps" thing. You just get it almost right, then have to lengthen just a smidge again.
I have to keep sticking to my food plan, but I need to make some changes, it's affecting my tum, didn't last time, but I am older - maybe I need to do a little different, at least I have kept to the proper food and snacks. It is definitely easier when planning meals and getting the shopping done.

NEWS GONE WRONG......
1. JERRY REMY THEN HIT AN RBI SINGLE OFF HAAS'S LEG, WHICH ROLLED INTO RIGHT FIELD.
IT WILL BARELY HIT 20 TODAY AND ANOTHER WINDY GUSTY DAY HERE. I THINK I WILL STAY INSIDE ANOTHER DAY. MY DUMPSTER VISIT CAN WAIT ANOTHER DAY.
I SEE THAT THERE WAS A PLANE PROBLEM WHEN GUSTY WINDS IN CANADA FLIPPED A PLANE ON LANDING. AT LEAST THERE WERE NO CASUALTIES THIS TIME.
JUDY....THANKS FOR THE FUNNIES. I LAFFED. I THINK EVERYONE NEEDS A GOOD LAFF OR TWO EVERY DAY TO HELP STAY HEALTHY.
BJ......ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY. HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY WITH FAMILY. I KNOW THEY WON'T FORGET YOU.
TRISH......YES, A CHANGE IN DIET CAN MAKE THE TUMMY A BIT WONKY. SORRY TO HEAR THAT.
I ROASTED MY VEGGIES LAST NITE AND SHARED WITH MY NEIGHBOR WHO DOESN'T COOK TOO MUCH SINCE SHE HAS THAT NECK PROBLEM. SHE GAVE ME A NICE BIG SLICE OF APPLE PIE SO IT WAS A GOOD SWAP.
MY DAY WILL GO ALONG AS IT NORMALLY DOES. A BIT OF THIS, A BIT OF THAT. I MAY EVEN START THE CARDINAL DOOR HANGING SINCE THE BACKGROUND WAS APPROVED. I HAVE THE EASTER ONES TO DO AS WELL AND ITS GETTING CLOSE. I CHOSE THE EGG FABRICS SO MAYBE I CAN GET THOSE TACKED DOWN TODAY.
HAVE A GOOD DAY MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

It's not bad here today, going up to 55, but 13 degrees colder tomorrow night. Even though we complain about the humidity and hot weather, bring it on! At least I can sit on the patio, lol.
The news said there were no casualties on the Delta plane because the wings came off, which holds the fuel. I hope those injured all survive. What an ordeal to go thru.
Melena, my niece, had hip replacement surgery yesterday. She's only 54. It wasn't a "I can put it off" situation. She was in severe pain and her hip was locking up. Can you believe she doesn't have to spend one night in the hospital?
Happy birthday and many more, BJ! I hope you like red roses.

Happy birthday, BJ. Always a good day for reminiscing when you've got a few under your belt.
Can't wait to see what your girls do for your birthday.
We're off today, again. Howard has a Beltone appt. and I'm finally getting my hair cut. And of course, we have the inevitable stop at WM for one of his meds. and milk. All are this afternoon. It was 5 degrees when we got up, going up to 15. As long as the roads are kept clear, the snow is beautiful. There's a big fat robin sitting on the eave. It's all puffed up due to the cold. Most leave in the fall. I thought they all do but this one is surveying his domain. I know they are one of the first to return in the spring and are most welcome.
QB, I agree about the daily laughs. And you provide most of them for us. I happened to run across those two I'd jotted down on one of the endless scraps of papers I'm always dealing with. Hope your DD and granddaughter are okay. Andrew took a fall a few days ago on the ice in Chicago.
Have a good day.
