Today is one month since my surgery. I can do pretty much anything now except lifting and vacuuming. I gave Molly a bath yesterday in the kitchen sink. Gary and Emily came over and helped me lift her. Dee will be here tomorrow to trim their toenails. They are way overdue.
Yesterday I opened the microwave and the bottom of the handle broke. It's made by Frigidaire and it's only 4 years old. I was able to fix it with clear Gorilla Glue.

Good early evening to you all.
Kids had school off today due to snow. We only got about 2 or 3 inches but the weather people said travelling was terrible so all of the schools in my area closed. Not sure if they will have it tomorrow or not.
A car going down the road in front of our house slid and took out our mailbox. It was a young man and he was going too fast for the road conditions, but, he stopped and came to the house. I heard the crash and thought it was a car crashing. He offered to pay for the damage but Dean said he would fix it and thanked him for coming to admit it. He was shaking pretty badly, so Dean felt bad for him. Hopefully, he learned to slow down in these road conditions. He was in a giant truck, of course.
I am making baked chicken and gravy and mashed potatoes for supper. I was going to make it yesterday but the kids' mom picked them up early so I did not. They were disappointed that they did not get to have dinner. Gabriel loves mashed potatoes.
I have a quilt top to finish, but have not been sewing for a while once again. I do it is spurts.
Take care all.

22 MEMBERS WERE AT THE CHURCH MEETING LAST NITE. MR. SMITH AND MRS. DANVERS SANG A DUET, "THE LORD KNOWS WHY."
I CHECKED MY CALENDAR THIS MORNING. NO MORE SPECIAL DAYS FOR OUR LADIES THIS MONTH.
ITS COLD AND SUNNY AGAIN. NO SNOW TODAY.
I MADE THE SAUCY GROUND BEEF AND NOODLE CASSY LAST NITE. ITS A GOOD ONE. I NEED TO ADD IT TO MY BLOG. FUNNY THING ABOUT THAT BLOG. I KEEP FORGETTING TO ADD TO IT. MOSTLY BECAUSE I HAVE SO LITTLE TO POST BUT I KNOW THE RECIPES ARE SOMETHING OTHERS CAN ENJOY IF IT HAS PICTURES. I HOPE TO REMEMBER TO TAKE PHOTOS AS I COOK.
I AM MAKING A NEW HAMBURGER SOUP TONITE WITH BOTH FRESH AND CANNED VEGGIES. IT WILL ALSO USE THE SMALL SHELL PASTA MY SON BOUGHT ME IN ERROR. I OFTEN USE THE MEDIUM SIZE IN MY DISHES. THIS NEW ONE SOUNDS TASTY.
I GET MOST OF MY CASSEROLE RECIPES FROM 3 YOUTUBE SOURCES: THE HILLBILLY KITCHEN, CATHERINE'S PLATES, AND MEME'S RECIPES. THEY FEATURE SOME TASTY AND EASY RECIPES IN CASSEROLE FORM.
MY DAY TODAY WILL MEAN COOKING THE NEW HAMBURGER SOUP, BROWNING MY SAUSAGE FOR MY TATER TOT CASSY TOMORROW, AND GRATING THE CHEESE FOR THAT CASSY.
I HOPE TO GET IN SOME JIGSAW TIME AND THERE'S ALSO MY LAPS THAT NEED DOING.
MY DAUGHTER IS COMING THIS WEEK TO SCRUB MY FLOORS AND MY OVEN. ITS ONLY THE DOOR OF THE OVEN THAT NEEDS ATTENTION. I USE LINERS IN MY OVEN TO KEEP IT CLEAN. THEY ARE A MARVELOUS FEATURE. I ALSO LINE MY ELECTRIC BURNERS WITH ALUMINUM FOIL FOR EASY CLEAN-UPS.
THESE DAYS I FIND LITTLE STRENGTH IN MY ARMS SO SCRUBBING MY FLOORS IS VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME. I NEED TO GET SOMEONE YOUNGER. I WAS GOING TO HIRE A SERVICE FOR THAT BUT MY DAU SAID SHE'D DO IT. OF COURSE I WILL PAY HER. SHE SAYS 'NO' BUT I SAY 'YES.' I WON'T HAVE HER TOILING FOR NOTHNG.
THAT'S ABOUT IT LADIES. I HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL TODAY. HUGS QB S

Devonne, one month...I know there are folks for whom time crawls and the week of Howard's "illness" did for us, but mostly, I can't believe how it flies. And, mostly, we just stay home.
Bit by bit, you're adding new tasks. Molly must feel like a "new (little) woman".
Howard just took the Christmas tree downstairs. I had removed the decorations this morning.
We just haven't been able to get it done before this. I never got much else put out this year.
He reinforced it's box with duct tape and it wore him out.
He's still rather tired. Naps a lot, which is good. Yesterday, Bill drove us to Lab Corp for some blood tests and we paid our part of his bill, both at the hospital he was in. Bill was going right by (the hosp.) on an errand so that worked out. But, I must start driving us again because Howard is not cleared for driving. In fact, the neuro's office called this a.m. and they're sending an order for a driving evaluation for him. He's not a happy camper, but will comply. Better safe, than sorry... as the old saying goes.
I'm not forgetting how fortunate we are with all this, but my honest opinion is that he had "something" and it's not resolved. He hasn't had any more hallucinations (he says) but has had a few headaches. His BP has been in the normal range. He's been sent 5 get well cards from our church family. Forgive me if I'm repeating things. Too lazy to look back...
Happy birthday, Linda. Best wishes for a good year...
Cheryl, yikes on your mailbox. I'm glad no one was out there getting the mail! Good that Dean can fix it and that the kid stopped and told you. We've had to repair or replace several here on US Hwy. 6 due to either semis or snow plows. They just keep on going!
QB, I always use the small shells when I make anything needing shells. This evening, I'm
going to cook some spaghetti and throw a jar of spaghetti sauce with Italian sausage and peppers in it. Hope that suffices for the separate ground beef I usually would add but don't have. That and we'll have a tiny salad because of only a small amt. of lettuce in the frig.
Have a good evening and sweet dreams.

Afternoon y'all!
Monday the 6th was back and forth with the person that sent us the email to pick a rehab. Asked if she had any idea as to when this would happen. She said no. So I went home at 3 something to eat lunch finally, and get a call that she is being moved, at 4:30. I drop everything, ate junk, jumped in the car to rush back to the hospital to pack mom up. I packed everything and headed to the rehab facility, get a call that they are delaying transport til 5 pm, 30 minutes, no big deal. I got to her room and unpacked, set stuff up, such as it was, and got a list of stuff to bring to her. I sat in a very uncomfortable chair for well over an hour, left at about 6:15 and they had not even picked mom up yet. As I left I told staff I was going home, to be told they just got there to pick her up, and the nurse just got report, to which I said, I still have to make supper, I am a diabetic and can't wait for hours! So over all of this. Staples came out today so rehab should progress better.
The last 3 days they put her in a wheelchair, she does better out of the bed, thankfully! She is still very confused. Nobody is telling me anything! I ask for updates, get told, that this or that department will call me to get no call! Today, I got a letter for a care-plan meeting on the 29th?!? She will be close to discharge by then, why have the meeting, shouldn't it be now, with maybe a follow-up on the 29th?
All I feel like I am doing is running in a circle and going nowhere!
I did finally get mom's Canadian retirement changed to this address and the local bank! I also found checks for the Canadian bank! Very scary! But a major accomplishment! Not a lot of money, but she will need whatever I can get to pay off the hospital and doctors offices!
I'm getting texts about the bills! Then I can't find them in my email, because it was in a text!
The kids are doing fine! Luke, just got his Mississippi drivers license and registered to vote there! Things are progressing for him.
Sara is status quo, the countdown is on, done in 11 months!
Alex is updating his resume. His salaried job was just made hourly, he saw the writing on the wall!
Me, I took a mental health day, didn't visit mom or do anything I didn't want to do! I started the curtains for Alex's condo bedroom. One panel done, will make the other this weekend so he can hang those up. The kitchen ones should be easier to make, not as big, barely 2 feet long!
Hubby is doing his best to keep me from throttling these people! He understands my frustration! Does his best to talk me down. So far so good, I'm not in jail, so it must be successful!
Later my Friends!

Linda, happy birthday! Sorry you and Darrell both have Covid. Have you heard of Ozzie Rolls? The You Tube channel said they are popular in northern Virginia. I have the recipe to make them when I'm up to par.
Cheryl, how nice of that young man to stop and admit his guilt. Nice of Dean to offer to fix it himself.
I made "copycat" Chickfila chicken noodle soup today. It is awesome and I can't tell the difference in theirs and mine! Got the recipe on You Tube. I did use the Mafalda noodles and they were expensive! Can't wait to see what Greg thinks tomorrow. We always get the soup as our side item.
Theresa, so sorry you are dealing with all this with your mom. On a positive note, your kids are all doing well!
