DEVONNE cute pics with the dogs, they look good, she does a lovely job! Hope you enjoy your dinner with Greg, sounds like you have good recipe to use from now on.
SANDRA you are so good to share so much I know it's much appreciated by your neighbours, hope your day of rest is a good one, I know you have plenty to keep you occupied. I finished my jigsaw, I'll post a pic tomorrow, can't find where I put the pic now, I must have taken it on a message to Julie.
INDY poor H, I hope he is feeling better, is he at all stressed about the episode?, Dad mostly couldn't remember, I could often see something had happened when I wasn't there, things not in their right place etc, mostly his nurses morning and evening knew him so well they could pick it up too, so they would call me. It was never dull being dad's carer giver LOL
THEREA hope things are settling down for you and she is settles in her rehab, as others have said your Todd is such a support to you ((((hugs))))
We had our family lunch, it worked out quite well, because we had such an early booking they were able to move us around so we were all together. My oldest niece (bro's girl) had an incredibly dressy outfit on, sparkly shoes and all, quite unusual, and HER eldest had his wife only come with their kids, he said he hadn't been invited, they have split up, they both have special needs and their oldest does too, such a shame, the wife's mum has been living with them and causing problems, and his wife sided with her mum, so he left.
The good news, well sort of, it's good and bad, Chloe is pregnant (sis's oldest) she had a miscarriage a few months back - actually almost a year I think - and was seriously ill, her Drs are concerned and she has been instructed NO gym at all, and to be careful. She may need to be monitored for heart issues as she progresses, they have mentioned pace makers and she has bad morning sickness all day right now, poor kid, she is not telling everyone yet, she's about 9 weeks.
We will be watching her carefully, and hoping for the best.
My brother was OK, he looks thin, but says he's fine, his family were all nice, and want to meet again same time next year, this time for a week end, not too sure about that, I was hoping for a day only LOL
I have eaten too much 'wrong' food last few days, so I had small snacks of cheese/spinach pastries tonight for dinner, and if they want anything else they can get it for themselves.
It's been fine today, and warm not hot, so a pleasant day, the ground is still quite damp, but the guys mowed the lawns anyway when we got home, busy week coming up, HIS exercise class followed by my yoga and then his new hearing aids, plus Megan has her gastro specialist tomorrow before my yoga, and her gynaecologist Tuesday. She is trying to sort out her health, so hoping she finds some answers, she switched to both my specialists as she likes how they treat me LOL
Stay well and keep warm (((hugs)))

Linda- sorry about the Covid.
Theresa- what a lot for you to do.
Judy- hope Howard is better.
I don’t know what I’d do if I had to do the driving.
In fact I don’t know what I’d do if something happens to DH leaving me to manage everything. I only learned how to manage the heat/air system last year!
Finally got out again the other day to grocery shop. That makes twice in two weeks. Our driveway is unmanageable with the snow/ice. I’ve had to cancel and reschedule my haircut and chiropractor appointments.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the rain stops before the big freeze comes in. I won’t take the car out until the driveway is totally clear and dry.
I’m sure I missed something, maybe back later.

Wow, lots happening.
Linda, belated happy birthday, and special wishes for a really fast recovery for you and Darrell.
Sandra, sorry about your big loss. You are such a special person; they should let you win one.
Janet, hoping you are getting settled down. Some of those house things are hard to comprehend.
Judy, I keep you and Howard in my prayers. The unknown diagnoses are the worst.
Trish, so sad about Chloe. She must be really worried about everything. Glad y'all had a good time and that some want to repeat it.
Theresa, wishing you some calmer days ahead.
Devonne, the puppers look so good. They're adorable. Glad you are doing better every day.
We're about ready to hunker down (again). It's getting ridiculous to do the preps for winter storms AND hurricanes. Good grief. Twice a year is just too much. I took all of the canned goods to church, so now I'm busily restocking. The grocery stores were a madhouse this morning. Bottled water nonexistent or limited. I have covered my plants, but with wind gusts up to 50 mph, they have blown off. I'll go fix them later. I still need to cover the esplanade flower beds, but I can do that tomorrow.
Are you ready for this? They're predicting 4-6" of snow. In Houston. In 1895 we had 20" of snow. Twice since then we've had 4". Never more than that. I don't think we're having school much this week. Usually we get this kind of stuff in February if we get it at all. I keep thinking 2025 has to get better, but it really isn't doing much good.

THIS BEING EASTER SUNDAY, WE WILL ASK MRS. WHITE TO COME FORWARD AND LAY AN EGG ON THE ALTAR.
THE WEATHER IS ABOUT TO CHANGE. SNOW EXPECTED TODAY, 3 TO 5 INCHES IS THE REPORT FROM ONE SOURCE AND 5 TO 8 INCHES FROM ANOTHER. WHATEVER, I HOPE THERE ARE NO POWER OUTAGES. I WILL BE SURE TO CHARGE MY PHONE AND HAVE FOOD I CAN EAT WITHOUT POWER.
CHERYL......I MEANT TO MENTION THAT THE KID WAS BEING VERY FORTHRIGHT IN ADMITTING HE HIT YOUR MAILBOX. A RARE QUALITY IT SEEMS BUT STILL OUT THERE. THERE IS HOPE FOR HUMANITY AFTER ALL.
JUDY.......I LIKE THE MEDIUM SHELL PASTA FOR MY MEAT SAUCE. IT CUPS THE TASTY MEAT IN ITS HOLLOWS SO NICELY. THE SMALL ONES WOULD BE A WASTE FOR MY RECIPE.
BUT THEY WORKED WELL IN THE SOUP. SO SMALL AND PERFECT FOR SOUP.
TRISH.......I BOUGHT A CLEANER ONLINE THAT PROMISES TO DEEP CLEAN SO WHEN MY DAU USES IT I WILL LET YOU KNOW. MAYBE IT CAN WORK ITS MAGIC ON MY CABINETS, TOO.
DEVONNE......LOVE THE PICS OF THE DOGS. ITS SO NICE THAT DEE DOES A FEW THINGS FOR YOU WHILE SHE'S THERE. A NICE PERSON TO KNOW.
JANET.......YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO RUN YOUR HOUSEHOLD NOW. YOU CAN'T TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. YOU MAY BE LEFT ALONE ANYTIME. NO ONE KNOWS HOW LONG WE HAVE.
NOTHING SPECIAL HAPPENING TODAY IT BEING MY DAY OF REST. I DID THE VACUUMING JUST SO I COULD EMPTY MY VAC BAG IN THE TRASH BAG BEFORE PUTTING IT ALL OUT. I HAD PLANNED TO DO THAT TOMORROW. I MAY MAKE MYSELF SOME POTATO PANCAKES BEFORE THE STORM ARRIVES.
I FOUND A NEW SERIES ON TV THAT I LIKE. MY DAU SUGGESTED IT AND I TUNED IN. ITS HIGH POTENTIAL. VERY DIFFERENT TYPE OF CRIME FIGHTING AND I LIKE IT. I HAD TO GO BACK TO THE FIRST EPISODE TO SEE HOW IT ALL CAME ABOUT. ITS ON MY LIST NOW TO WATCH EACH WEEK.
THAT'S IT LADIES. A QUIET DAY FOR ME. I HOPE ITS A QUIET ONE FOR ALL OF YOU, TOO. HUGS, QB S

Trish, your Christmas card arrived on Friday. It is so cute!!
Theresa, so sorry you are having such issues with mom. Hoping it gets much better for you soon.
Sandra, I also like Hillbilly Kitchen on Youtube. My favorites, though, are Whipperwill Holler and Life with the Zimmerman's. Whipperwill Holler in in Arkansas and The Zimmermans are in Iowa. The Zimmermans used to belong to an old order Mennonite group, but left. Very interesting lifestyle. I will check out your other two that I have not watched yet.
I agree with Sandra about learning how to take care of one's household. Dean is teaching me things now, like shut off valves, furnace filters, etc. I am teaching him to grocery shop and to cook basic dishes. We have spoiled each other over the years doing our "household jobs". He was shocked at the grocery prices yesterday, even though I tell him every time I get groceries how expensive they are these days. He also does not pay any of the bills, so I have made a list for him. Since they mostly come to my email box, he will have to use it if/when necessary.
It is really cold and supposed to be minus 8 tomorrow. Kids have the day off school due to Martin Luther King Day, so that is good. I assume that they will also be off on Tuesday since it is supposed to be even colder then. I am surprised that they do not do the remote learning since all the students have Chromebooks issued through school. Akron University has already announced that they will do remote learning on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Patty, hope you are not too cold!!! I saw your area on the weather map and it looked with -32!!
Judy, prayers for Howard and that you get the answers you need for his treatment.
Devonne, so good to see you doing so well. Those dogs are adorable as usual. I sure miss having a dog in my house for sure.

Thanks for thinking of me Cheryl. The temp is pretty cold but we are fortunate to have a nice warm house. A couple more days of it and then it will be above zero again. We dress warm when we have to go out so it's not bad.
This week I have to go somewhere every day until Friday. I really like staying home so this is unusual for me.

Good Morning to everyone!! I'm about ready to go take my shower. It's very cold outside, only 30* this morning. I don't have any energy and am ready to lay down again. I didn't get my glasses on, so having a little trouble seeing.
Just wanted to say Hi! to everyone. My left wrist is hurting this morning, so will quit. Sending love to everyone! BJ.

ORDER IN THE COURT....
Q. JAMES STOOD BACK AND SHOT TOMMY LEE?
A. YES.
Q. AND THEN TOMMY LEE PULLED OUT THIS G.UN AND SHOT JAMES IN THE FRACAS?
a. (AFTER A HESITATION) NO SIR, JUST ABOVE IT.
WE GOT ABOUT 5" OF SNOW THROUGH THE NITE. THE SKY IS NOW BLUE AND ITS 21*F. THE PLOWS ARE OUT AND THE SAND TRUCKS. I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE SO I'M OK. AND NO POWER OUTAGES THO THEY TELL US THERE MAY STILL BE SOME WITH HEAVY LIMBS FALLING HERE AND THERE. I HAVE FOOD THAT DOES NOT NEED HEATING SO I WILL BE FINE.
CAROL.....I HEAR YOU ARE EXPECTING SNOW. NOT MUCH BUT SINCE YOU ARE SO FAR SOUTH I IMAGINE YOU HAVE LITTLE EQUIPMENT TO DEAL WITH ANY SNOW. HOPE YOU FARE WELL.
NOTHING SPECIAL HAPPENING HERE. SAME OLD, SAME OLD. BE SAFE EVERYONE.
HUGS, QB S

It is quite an historical day here in America with the inauguration of President Elect Trump and Martin Luther King Day as well. Melania looked so pretty in her hat. I really do like his running mate, J. D. Vance. The music wouldn't play for Carrie Underwood to sing America the Beautiful, but she did great singing a cappella.
Janet, I don't like to go off far by myself. Greg is flying to Vegas by himself in February for a week. That's something I would never do. Billy always did all the driving and without a GPS, I would be totally lost. Remember when we had to use maps and you could get them free at every rest stop? Billy used to tease me that I had the map upside down, lol.
I ordered a new washable rug for my living room. I have a 6x9 now, but I got an 8x10 so I can put it under my furniture legs. Emily told me I shouldn't be using area rugs, as they are a trip hazard. She said she has almost tripped on both of my rugs, even the small one I have in the bedroom. I love my rugs, they really bring a room together. I've never tripped on them at all. They are very low pile because they are washable. I think it's because she has no rugs in her RV and she's not used to them. Both of my rugs have a non slip backing. I did take up a small rug in front of my door.
Patty, that is way too cold for me. I always think of you when the weather gets really cold. I have friends in Virginia that spend the winter in Florida. It has really helped with her health issues.
Linda, on my 75th birthday, I had a dr's appointment and was told my cancer was malignant. How's that for a birthday present, lol?
Cheryl, you need to get a shih tzu! They are so very smart; at least my Gracie is!
I don't think Atlanta is going to get much snow....maybe 1/4"? South of us could get more.

We're going to get somewhere between 3" and 5" of snow. Plus they think we will have black ice under the snow. This is not going to be fun for anyone who has to be out. My dental appointment is already rescheduled. We have food and water and warm clothes. I may not walk past the driveway until Thursday. Just hoping we keep the power on.

It's very cold and clear, here, sun shining. We're, for sure, staying in. Are watching the inaugural programs. Devonne, I don't know about the hat??? Hid her face. Prez got hung up on it as he tried to kiss her cheek. But, of course (as Howard pointed out) she's the fashion model. I love rugs, too. But, only have the barest minimum for safety's sake.
Just got a call to make an appt. for Howard's driving evaluation--the 90 min. cognitive part. Then there's a driving one...I imagine based on whether or not he passes the first. He hasn't thought of THAT, I don't think, and I'm not mentioning it. He continues to have almost a daily headache at bedtime and I'm not sure which doctor to call about it. Told me this morning that he hasn't felt well for two weeks, today, since he went to the ER. When I suggested that the headaches may not be from his BP which has been in the normal range, he blew up.
Carol, you're smart to beware and not push it. Black ice can be so insidious--before you know it, you're down and out. We watch America's Funniest Videos and there are so many falls on ice which are distressing to watch and not that funny. Each time, it makes my wrists tingle, which is my particular reaction to people getting injured. When we lived in TX one of our friends always said he was glad he lived there, "you don't have to shovel partly cloudy"!
I need to go and figure out supper. I've already been asked what it's going to be...
Have a good remainder of the day and sweet dreams.
Indy

We watched some of the proceedings but not much if it. I did not care for Melania's hat at all. lol. She did not look happy during any of the ceremonies in my opinion. I feel for her as I would not want to live my life in such a "bubble". Devonne, I too, like Vance. I did not think I did until I heard him speak a couple of times. He is a very smart and articulate man.
Tonight is the college football national title game, so Dean will be watching it. I plan to do some quilting on a quilt I pinned today. It is a kid size and easy to quilt. I made homemade pizza for supper so it is done. Dean wants to go to the gym for an hour so so.
It is really cold out and school has been called off already until Thursday due to the wind chill.
Carol, I hope all is well with you all in Houston with the awful weather forecast.
Sending positive vibes for you all, especially those with health issues.

Sorry I've been MIA! I signed on very early morning Sunday and saw that Trish beat me to it with locking and bumping threads, and meant to say something but I rushed off to bed instead. 🤪
Anyway, we've been busy with a fence project to keep DS's crazy husky a bit more contained when she's here. 🤪
And today, I've had the historic inauguration and festivities on all day as I'm nursing a cold. Mom disliked the hat, too, but I figure if anyone can pull off the look, it's Melania! She's so elegant! I, too, like Vance!
Devonne, I hope you are feeling much better! What a terrible 75th bday! 😔
Belated bday wishes, Linda! 🥳
I better run! DH will be home in about an hour, and I want to go straighten my hair again and look little more human, 🤪😄 even if I don't feel human! 🙃😄

What a day! I bing watched all the inaugural events on TV. I think Melanie was having a better time this time around. Back later….

ORDER IN THE COURT.....
Q. DOCTOR, DID YOU SAY HE WAS SHOT IN THE WOODS?
A. NO, I SAID HE WAS SHOT IN THE LUMBAR REGION.
IT SURE WAS COLD LAST NITE. IT HIT 5 BELOW ZERO F FOR US. WILL BE THE SAME TONITE THO THE DAYS WILL REACH THE MID 20S. STILL, ITS MIGHTY COLD OUT THERE.
MY HEAD IS A BIG WONKY TODAY SO WILL DO VERY LITTLE. I CAN HAVE A SANDWICH OR TWO TODAY INSTEAD OF COOKING. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A PEANUT BUTTER SANDWICH. IT'S BEEN A FEW MONTHS, I THINK, SINCE I ENJOYED ONE.
JUDY......I HOPE HOWARD'S EVALUATIONS GO WELL. THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT.
CAROL......IT SEEMS YOU GOT THAT RARE SNOW. IT WILL CRIPPLE YOUR CITY FOR SURE. THE SOUTH IS JUST NOT PREPARED TO DEAL WITH ICE AND SNOW LIKE US IN THE NORTH.
LINDA......I AM THINKING OF YOU AND DARREL FIGHTING A SPATE OF COVID. ITS GETTING RARE, BUT ITS STILL OUT THERE.
SORRY TO HEAR SOME HAVE COLDS, OTHERS HAVE COVID. I AM SO GLAD THAT THE COVID ATTACKS ARE NOTHING LIKE THEY WERE IN THE BEGINNING. IT SEEMS THEY ARE MORE LIKE THE OLDTIME FLU WE ALL SUFFERED FOR YEARS.
MY DAU HAS TO RESCHEDULE HER CLEANING FOR ME. IT SEEMS THERE ARE COLDS OR MAYBE FLU HAPPENING IN HER HOME, TOO. SHE DOES NOT WANT ME TO SHARE THEM SO WILL STAY AWAY UNTIL SHE IS SURE HER GIRLS WON'T BE CONTAGIOUS.
I WILL DO SOME READING TODAY. I HAVE THAT LIBRARY BOOK TO FINISH BEFORE FEB. WHEN SALLY, THE LIBRARIAN, COMES AGAIN. I LOVE THAT ITS LARGE-PRINT. SO EASY TO READ.
BE SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS FOR ALL, QB S

About 3" of snow. Glen and I just shoveled part of the driveway. Not sure why. It will freeze and become black ice in the morning. We're not going anywhere, but he wanted a walking path cleared. I'm too old for this. I live in Houston where we say "summers are just this side of hell, but you don't have to shovel sunshine." Hmmm, yeah.
Some pictures for you. First, my house this afternoon.
