A husband and wife were dining at a 5-star restaurant. When their food arrived, the husband said: "Our food has arrived! Let's eat!" His wife reminded him: "Honey, you always say your prayers at home before your dinner!" Her husband replied: "That's at home, my dear. Here the chef knows how to cook..."
ANOTHER COLD AND SUNNY DAY. BRRRRR. I'M STAYING INDOORS.
MY DAYS RUN PRETTY MUCH THE SAME. I TRY TO COOK SOMETHING FOR XMAS GOODIES AND THEN THERE'S FOOD FOR MYSELF. A BIT OFJIGSAW, READING, PLAYING SOLITAIRE ON THE PUTER, AND TV. WHEN I CAN MANAGE IT, I SEW OR DRAW A NEW PATTERN TO SEW LATER.
I HAVE YET TO FIND THE PATTERNS I WAS LOOKING FOR TO DO HANDWORK. ITS ON MY LIST BUT EVERY DAY I MOVE IT DOWN ANOTHER DAY. THE PERILS OF OLD AGE.
STAY SAFE. HUGS FOR ALL. QB S

I'm so happy to be back, my computer was OUT!!! so I couldn't read or post anything!! Last evening we went to LaConner to watch the boat parade. It has been a lovely day to end it all, it was a terrible day, very stormy. But since it ended so nicely, lovely!!!
It has been lovely to catch up on the past few days, but right now Tracy is here and ready with breakfast so I need to go and check in. Will be back tomorrow so Goodbye for now, BJ.

BJ, I'm glad you have your computer back up and running. We missed you!
Carol, thanks for the card and the wishes.
Today is my last day before I lose body parts, lol! I'm going to measure so I can have a before and after! We have to be at the hospital at 7:30 am. Greg is stopping by the house to get my pillow and blanket. I need this pillow to protect me from the seat belt. I'll be going to the hospital with Gary and Emily and after surgery riding home with Greg since his car sits lower than my SUV.
Trish, I'm so sorry to read you have been sea sick. We always took Bonine before we cruised, but the last 5 or 6 times we haven't needed it. Hope whatever you bought helped you to enjoy the rest of your cruise.
I have a few more cards to get addressed and they will have to go in my mailbox.
Big hugs and love to everyone. I will post when I feel like it.

Devonne, sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers for you.
I cannot believe that Christmas is so close either! I still need to do some small gift shopping and all of the wrapping. At least the tree is up early this year!
My DIL made some peanut cluster candies and a pumpkin-spice bark candy. I love the clusters, but really do not like pumpkin spice anything. Not even pumpkin pie, but appreciate her gift all the same. I would much rather have something homemade for my birthday than another trinket that I do not need.
It has been raining and dreary all day. When I first went out to feed the birds (and squirrels), the patio was a sheet of ice. It was on everything, even the bird feeder. Thankfully after about an hour, it melted due to all the rain.
I made a pot of chicken noodle soup today and a loaf of Italian bread.

DEVONNE hope it all goes well, been thinking of you all day, you are strong and have a fantastic attitude, and also wonderful family support, as well as us cheering you on (((((hugs)))))
SANDRA thank you for keeping everyone going, we got back this morning, I was seasick, 1st time ever LOL we've figured out it must be an inner ear problem, I have a Drs appointment so he'll check, and maybe chiro or physio to reset the balance. It's wasn't fun feeling nauseous, I had medication to take and than helped, but keeping busy and doing things also helped.
We heard so many lovey authors on this cruise, and they were very happy to chat when we met in the ship,. They were all so interesting, Fiona Macintosh has written many more books than I knew, and Sir Alexander McCall Smith has written hundreds, he had a photo with Julie,I took it LOL and he gave her a poem he wrote on the ship, and also a small short story he made into small booklets on the ship. He's amazing he's in his 70s and so interesting.
The entertainment was also fantastic, you could sit in many different and have all sorts of musicians and singers to listen too.
Julie's husband and Warwick got on very well and we all enjoyed each others company.
I couldn't check in properly, the phone and internet was playing up. It kept cutting out, so I gave up LOL
CHERYL I bet you ar more organised that we are, have NOTHING done for Christmas, and it's so close YIKES!!
I am so very glad to see you back BJ, we missed you!!! I'm happy Tracy was able to get you set uo again.
I have another load of washing to bring in. and it's very very hot here, and going to be worse tomorrow, I will be able to visit tomorrow, I still have wobbly legs, the house feels like it's sailing a slight swell LOL

It was a baby mosquito's first day to fly out from home. When the mosquito came back home later that day, the father mosquito asked, "How was your journey?" The baby mosquito replied, "It went great. Everyone was clapping for me!"
ITS VERY GRAY OUT THERE TODAY BUT NO RAIN PROMISED. I HOPE NOT. I HAVE TO GET MY TRASH AND RECYCLES OUT.
TRISH......SORRY ABOUT THE NEW MEDICAL ISSUE. I HOPE THEY GET YOU STRAIGHTENED OUT (NO PUN INTENDED) IN A HURRY.
ITS NICE THAT YOU ENJOYED THE AUTHORS AND TALKED TO SOME OF THEM. SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD CRUISE FOR THE MOST PART.
DEVONNE'S SURGERY IS TODAY. EVERYONE PLEASE SEND THOSE PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS HER WAY. SHE HAS AN OVERNITE STAY AND THEN HOME WITH GARY AND EMILY TO HELP.
I HEAR THE PREZ IS GOING TO ABOLISH DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME. MANY WILL BE HAPPY TO HEAR THAT.
TODAY I HOPE TO GET SOME ITALIAN WINE COOKIES MADE. I ALREADY VACUUMED AND AM TAKING OUT MY TRASH AND RECYCLES IN A MINUTE. IT SAYS NO RAIN BUT YOU NEVER KNOW. BUT ITS ONLY IN THE 30S SO ITS COLD OUT THERE.
BE SAFE. HUGS FOR ALL.

As I started this post, a notification popped up saying something about a trial use of an aid to write that is AI generated. NO! Not me! I can still write my own, thank you! Alexander Pope advised not to be the first to use something, or the last to give something up. Not an exact quote, but that was the jist of it. Good advise in my book...
QB, I would be one that would gladly give up DST. Might seem selfish but I truly feel a difference physically when we go back to slow time and the other change in the spring makes me feel anxious and like I'm always trying to catch up. I feel rather silly admitting to that because it's soooo old fashioned and such an unpopular stance. I very seldom talk about it because in that irritating old saw..."it is what it is" ! I hear that about something almost every day!
Yes, I've been thinking of and praying for Devonne, today. This is a big step for her, and she's been very brave about it.
Glad you're back, Trish. I've read a couple of McCall's books, long ago, and they were enjoyable. Can't remember the names of the top of my head. I didn't realize this was a literary cruise. Did they decorate the cruise ship for Christmas? Just wondering?
BJ, so glad you're back with us and I also missed you, but knew Tracy and Rhonda and maybe Jamie would get you back you and running as soon as they could.
Need to go. Have a good evening and sweet dreams.
Indy

Thought I'd get some pics up that I took, the ship is beautifully decorated throughout, I would love to see how they pack it away LOL
The gingerbread village is edible, so much work, if you stand there long enough you smell the gingerbread. there are a few things not edible, but the houses etc, and the green iced trees are all made on ship. The trees and garland/tinsel and green wound around the stairs are everywhere, and I have no idea how many trees, there are 4 in the theatre, and they seem to be in every space available, at least 60 - but she has a fair bit of space to use, the dining room was also decorated, and those large soldier figures all over the place too, I had wanted to see one of the Queens for Christmas, and my wish was granted.
BJ don't worry about the size of your posts, I will resize them, just keep posting, we missed you!!!!
SANDRA that last one was so cute, baby mossie (our slang for them) I wish they would abolish Daylight saving here, it messes with me, I've always hated it.
INDY the books are either 44 Scotland Street series (set in Edinburgh) , or the Dalhousie series or the Ladies detective agency - set in Botswana, I couldn't get into those, he has a new series coming out, the books were onboard, I bought one, and will give it to Julie, she keeps them.
Fiona McIntosh was interesting, she also has new books coming out early next year, one of the speakers was a journalist, he got a standing ovation for about 5 minutes, he spoke about a story involving a soldier here, we have been trying to be open minded about the soldier, his name is Ben Roberts Smith, the talk was incredible and we were silent and spellbound right though his talk. You can google him if you want to know more, but I won't talk about it here. Not a good story.
Thank you all for the good thoughts for me, the wobbles didn't get me down too much, frustrating because we bought the drinks package that included the good coffees, and the coffee was making me nauseous LOL, I had to drink tea more. Still wobbly today, but not too bad, not taking any more meds, going to find a physio or chiro. I think i need an adjustment, will check with Dr first, and that's tomorrow,
PIC 1 is main lobby,
PIC 2 is outside the Golden Lion Pub
PIC 3 is part of the gingerbread display, the waves are all icing.
PIC 4 is on level 3 near the main staircase that winds from level 1 to 3
PIC 4 is more of the gingerbread display - it is huge, about 5 foot on each side, possibly more.
PIC 5 is the view from our stateroom after we docked, the sun had been up about an hour, and it was HUMID when we poked our noses out LOL it got hot and clear very quickly.
