A new week, one with no mistakes in it LOL
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.
DIANE hope you are OK and the surgery went well ((((hugs))))

I was just signing on to lock and bump and see that Trish just beat me to it! Thanks, Trish!
I did not have the eye surgery Friday. Long story short(er), they messed up and never sent the preauthorization paperwork to my insurance company. We drove all the way there for nothing! They should have called! 🤷🏼♀️. Anyway, I'll have to use the steroid drop for a week prior again, and it raises my eye pressure. It isn't "supposed" to, not this milder one, but I'm weird that way! 🤪
I'll try to get on Wednesday or Thursday next week. Unbelievably busy these days.

DIANE......SO SORRY FOR THE MESS UP CAUSING THE DELAY ON YOUR SURGERY. THAT STINKS. AND YES, WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL THE JERKS.
ITS ANOTHER SUNNY DAY HERE. TEMPS ARE RISING. WEIRDEST FEB. I CAN REMEMBER. ANYWAY, I AM ENJOYING MYSELF. BETWEEN THE FUN DURING THE DAY AND THE EATS, ITS BEEN PLEASANT.
I HAVE ALSO BEEN ABLE TO LOSE 3 LBS WITH THE TRIED AND TRUE METHOD I USED TO QUIT SMOKING......LOOK AT THE CLOCK AND TELL MYSELF NOT TO SMOKE/EAT UNTIL A HALF HOUR OR MORE AHEAD. ITS WORKING THO AT NITE I STILL INDULGE A BIT TOO MUCH ON THE SNACKS. AS LONG AS I CAN LOSE ANOTHER 9 LBS I WILL BE HAPPY.
TRISH......IF YOU GET THE MARY MARKS QUILTING MYSTERIES, THE FIRST ONE IN THE SERIES IS FORGET ME KNOT. AS FOR COOKING, I ONLY COOKED FOR MYSELF YESTERDAY. MADE A 6" STEAK AND ONION SUB AND IT WAS GOOD. I LOVE MY NY SIRLOIN.
I NEED TO BUY A COUPLE OF CHAIR CUSHIONS FOR MY WOODEN CHAIRS. THE ONES I HAVE ARE SOOO OLD AND THEY KEEP SLIDING AROUND. THE TIES ON THEM KEEP TEARING LOOSE OR LOOSENING, TOO. I NEED SOME NEW ONES. SAW WHAT I THINK I WOULD LIKE IN THE DR LEONARD CATALOG SO HAVE TO GET ORDERING BEFORE THEY RUN OUT. ON SALE, TOO. SINCE THEY ARE FLAT ON BOTH SIDES, THEY SHOULD NOT SLIDE AROUND.
TODAY I AM GOING TO MAKE SOME POTATO SALAD AND THAT'S IT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WILL BE NEXT. I STILL HAVE LEFTOVERS TO FINISH.
HAVE A GREAT DAY LADIES. ENJOY IT THOROUGHLY. HUGS, QB S

A sunny cold morning! I put together the squares for zig zag #3. Heather picked out the charm pack from my stash for this one. I put a pic up on my blog.
I was on the Apple PC and said I hate this keyboard, as I say to myself constantly. Ralph went downstairs and came up with 3 brand new ones, and said choose, LOL. I like one where the keys are taller,, so I picked a Dell one.
Offline
We finished a quilt today! Mom was a beast at the machine. My heart is full

Yay for BJ and Tracy! We had a good day. Ralph gave away a bunch of cinder blocks on buy nothing. Someone else on buy nothing was looking for a spider plant, so we gave her some babies from ours. We had a nice lunch at Olive Garden with F and C, and I took a short nap when I got home. And Manda and Ben are adopting a puppy tomorrow!
Carol, your package will get mailed tomorrow!
Goodnight to all, I’m off to bed.
Offline
TRACY and BJ that's great you got to play with fabric, AND finish a top ((((hugs))))
SANDRA we had a small steak each too tonight! baked some veg and made a small salad as well, I had a baby gem lettuce to use up. I love potato salad, it's really about the only 'white' potato I eat. I don't care for mash, and occasionally eat a small baked (roasted) potato. Thanks for the info on the books, I haven't checked Amazon yet.
HOLLY I was about to say "DITTO" on the weather, but substitute HOT for cold LOL It's been a lovely day here. I love my Apple keyboard, I am exactly opposite to you, I dislike the high keyboards. The new Apple one is even lower than the old one.
So sorry DIANE about the surgery mixup. Hope you finally get it done this week I'll be thinking of you!
It's been a quiet day here, housework, yoga and I just finished putting the last of the diamonds into piles ready to sew, thought I was being so smart, MOSTLY the rows are exactly the same on both sides, just reversed. WELL smarty pants me, they are NOT all the same. I had to rebag them into their folders and start again LOL Serves me right for trying to do something the fast way!!
Megan just called, her FIL was rushed to hospital this afternoon, something about ladders and falling, he's done a right mess. Sliced his right arm open from wrist to elbow, right to the bone. They are waiting on news. They have taken him to X-ray as well, to see if he's broken ribs, I guess the surgery would be dangerous if he does have them. He was sent by ambulance to the large hospital not far from us, and now they are saying they will transfer him again to further in to the city. Maybe the specialist surgeon is there. They live 45 mins out west of us.
Poor Gary, he is flying to Melbourne tomorrow morning 6am flight, and won't be home till late Wed night. His brother will have to take care of things. He's with his mother and father now, hope he can get some sleep tonight.
See you tomorrow.

Good morning.
How wonderful for Tracy and BJ to knock out a project!
Holly, I got rid of some cinder blocks the same way. It turned out a guy in the next neighborhood wanted 50, and I had 56 that I needed to get rid of. Love upcycling! I'll let you know when the box arrives.
Trish, so sorry for your terrible day, and prayers for Megan's FIL. It sounds serious.
Cheryl, your card and donation came on Saturday. Thanks so much!
I had about 45 people here yesterday for the Astros tour guide annual party. I had barbecue catered. They also brought potato salad, cole slaw, jambalaya, and jalapeno cheese bread. I did baked beans, turkey/ham/cheese sliders, corn/bean relish, oatmeal shortbread cookies, and banana pudding. One of the guys brought chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Yes, he bakes! The banana pudding was a joke: one of our outfielders wasn't playing as much as some of the media thought he should, and they claimed that the manager thought he was too fat. The manager replied, "If I thought he had a weight problem, I wouldn't be bringing him banana pudding every week!" I even have a recipe from a former Astros star outfielder, so it was a double joke. I quadrupled the recipe. Glen told everyone it would fill a swimming pool. At the end of the day, I scraped a little bit off the bottom of the pan. It was a hit! I sent home lots of leftovers with people. We used our tip money for the party, so we earned it and used it well.
Cleaning up today. I served everything in disposable foil pans, so I rinsed them with the jet sprayer on the driveway and put them in an extra recycling bin. Easy cleanup!

Happy Monday, everyone! The cruise was wonderful and ended so fast. The food was great. There were so many different places to eat. I gained 1.5 lbs. Thought it would be 4-5 lbs. so I was happy with the gain.
Greg and I didn't care for all the bright colors, but it was mostly at Surfside and the sports deck...for the kids. Surfside is where activities are for the kids...the Arcade, candy shop, merry go round and more eating places. It looked like they're adding a zip line, but it wasn't finished. Carter made a friend from Cumberland, Maine and they would meet at the water slides. He was 12 years old, same as Carter.
We loved the elevators. I've ever seen elevators without deck numbers inside the elevators. You choose which deck you want outside the elevator, and it tells you whether to go to elevator A, B, C, etc. The elevators were bigger and never crowded.
On the first night, it's a huge party in the royal promenade (looks kinda like a mall). There's plenty of music and they release hundreds of balloons at midnight. I'll post some pictures later this week.
My feet swelled really bad on this cruise. This started on my last cruise. Now that I'm off the ship, they are back to normal today. Isn't that crazy?
Trish, sorry about Megan's FIL. I hope he heals quickly...what a bad injury!
Tracy, how wonderful BJ got to sew and you finished a project. You're an amazing, wonderful daughter.
I am not doing nothing until later today, when I will do my laundry and empty the suitcase. I'm in the recliner for some TV time now.

Good Morning and thanks to everyone for the kind comments about my sewing yesterday. It was wonderful!! A little bit cold today, 37*, but I'll be staying inside, so guess that's okay!!
Have no plans for the day, so will sign off, wishing you all well, BJ.

Welcome back Devonne! Glad the cruise was wonderful!
Going out today to mail Carol’s package and one to Manda- post office is in the next town- the two ways I wanted to go were closed for construction, went around the long way, one lane traffic due to construction. Got to the post office, scrapped the rest of the errands and came home.
Carol, sounds like a great party!
Saw a recipe for a dump cake but in the crockpot, so I just put that on. We have Olive Garden leftovers, so dinner is taken care of.
BJ’s quilt is on Facebook, so beautiful!
I’m reading Nora Roberts latest, Inheritance, first in the list bride trilogy. It’s really good, as are all of hers.

WOW, LOTS OF NEWS TO CATCH UP. GREAT TO SEE EVERYONE POSTING.
BJ......YIPPEE, YOU FINISHED A QUILT. I HOPE WE GET TO SEE A PICTURE SOON. ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE THAT HAPPENED. I KNOW ITS A GREAT FEELING FOR YOU. GOOD GOING.
DEVONNE......I'M GLAD YOU ENJOYED YOUR TRIP. IT SOUNDS LIKE A WINNER. AMAZING WHAT THEY GET ON SHIPS THESE DAYS. AND ONLY GAINING LESS THAN 2 LBS.......HOW MARVELOUS. I HOPE YOU GET A CHANCE TO REST UP TODAY.
CUMBERLAND ISN'T VERY FAR FROM ME. ITS LOVELY COUNTRY THERE AND WHERE MY HORSE WAS STABLED AT HURRICANE STABLES. ITS ALSO WHERE THEY HAVE THE YEARLY COUNTY FAIR AND THE HORSE RACES IN SEPTEMBER. LOVE THAT AREA OF THE STATE.
CAROL.......ITS SURE SOUNDS LIKE YOUR BAR-B-Q WAS A BIG HIT AND ALL THE FOOD EATEN AND ENJOYED. YOU MUST HAVE DONE A WONDERFUL JOB PLANNING AND FEEDING.
TRISH.......SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT MEGAN'S FIL AND HIS ACCIDENT. I HOPE THEY ARE ABLE TO DO THEIR MAGIC AND GET HIM UP AND ABOUT SOON. IT SOUNDS LIKE A TRIAL FOR AWHILE FOR HIM THOUGH. I KNOW THE FAMILY MUST BE TERRIBLY WORRIED. PRAYERS AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS WINGING ACROSS THE OCEAN.
NOTHING SPECIAL FOR ME TODAY. ITS A FINE DAY WITH SUNSHINE AND MAY GET CLOSE TO 50 TODAY. I AM STAYING INDOORS SO IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME. I HAVE BEEN READING UP A STORM.
I NEED TO MAKE SOMETHING WITH GROUND BEEF TODAY. HAVEN'T A CLUE JUST NOW. IF I CAN'T FIND A RECIPE, I'LL GO WITH HAMBURGERS. ALWAYS A FAVORITE ON MY LIST OF FOODS. I HAVE FROZEN FRIES SO ITS ALL GOOD IN MY BOOK.
HAVE A GOOD DAY. HUGS, QB S

Welcome home, Devonne. Glad to hear your cruise was wonderful. My 80 yr. old newlywed friends were disappointed in theirs on Norwegian. She said she's been on several with her first husband that were much better. She's a bit of a grasshopper when talking with so I didn't get many details. That is strange about your feet and legs swelling. I'll bet your babies are happy, today!
Trish, so sorry about the accident. Sounds awful. Hard for Gary, too, having to be away. Praying for a good outcome.
Losing your phone was quite the ordeal. Your such an efficient person, must have been extra exasperating. We've all done it one way or another. Glad you finally found it and could put a cap on the search even though you still had to make it all right with another phone, etc.
It's bright and sunny here again, today. Snow is all gone. I always leave my decorations that don't scream Christmas up for the winter- Jan. and Feb. They've seemed almost out of place this year. Past time to replace them with something spring-like. Hope to get to that this week.
BJ, how nice that you and Tracy can work together making a quilt. Has to make you feel good to do what you love again.
I must get busy around here. Howard has sat in the living room all morning just watching tv. I can't figure him out, but keep my mouth shut. To each his own and he doesn't chide me for wasting time.
Have a good afternoon
Indy.

Afternoon y'all!
In the low 70's here today. Redbud trees are in full bloom. My Jonquils are up and blooming. Put the Irish spring out yesterday. Hopefully it will deter the doe from sleeping on my lady slipper tulips. They are up, not blooming yet.
Still working on slides. The one I just did was Chechyang, China I will look that up later. The pictures are cool, especially since I am trying to look at them through my dad's eyes. He was probably a 17 yo boy from the bayous of Louisiana, in rice country. He took lots of pictures of the rice fields there and rice planting.
I had my usual day. Mom, walk, home and I too went to the PO. Mailed a box to Carol, and Luke had something to mail too. Then he wanted some game that the sale is ending today, so to 2 Game Stop stores we went! Home now and talking with y'all!
Not much else happening here, just trying to get the first set of slides done!
Later my Friends!

Trish, what an ordeal with your phone! It is amazing how "panicked and helpless" we feel without that phone isn't it? At least you found it and nobody else has your information. Sorry about Megan's FIL.
Diane, how rude that the office did not contact you! I guess they don't do that sort of thing these days. The eye drops the doc gave me for my dry eyes after my surgeries made me break out in welts and hives. Had them for three days.
Holly, I, too, use a Dell keyboard for the raised keys. It feels like a typewriter to me rather than those flat keyed ones. I will check out your blog to see you runner.
Carol, glad the card arrived. Nobody here would expect you to use you own stash, thread and your time. We all like to contribute. The cost of postage these days is high too, so don't hesitate to let us know.
Devonne, welcome home! Does Carter go to a public school? How does he get all the time off to go on these cruises? Doesn't his absences count against him? One of my friends go at least twice a year on vacations or cruises but she homeschools so the kids do work on vacation.
It was a lovely 63 degrees today but supposed to storm with hail and turn cooler for a few days. Then back to 50-60 degrees again next week. As Sandra and others have noted, this is a very unusual winter. I suppose we will pay for it with a cool/rainy spring and summer.
Theresa, I feel like I should be working in the flowers but it is way too soon. My daffodils are up now about 6 inches, my lilacs have buds and even my hydrangea has buds. I had a woodpecker drumming on the downspouts today. I had to go out and chase him away three times before he did not return. I do feed the birds and usually have suet out, which the woodpeckers love, so I most likely and luring them here.

Evening all
CAROL I still haven't gone through stash, I will check it out this weekend, hopefully I can get some $$ at the bank as well ((((hugs)))) Your party sounded great, a lot of work, and having lots of it catered was a wonderful idea.
Your weather is a bit like ours, unpredictable, it's been a strange summer, a few days of blistering heat, then a few of cool days, unusual.
SANDRA your weather has been unusual too, what did you do with the ground beef, i will next make Pastitsio (sp?) It's like a thick spaghetti sauce on the bottom, with pasta in a béchamel sauce on top, delicious, the family love it, I was taught 'how to ' by a greek friend. She is in my thoughts every time I make it, I can hear her voice telling me how LOL
THERESA what a find, I know you can put the SD card into machines here and then they get sent to the printers for photos and you can also download yourself to the computer, I did it a while back, the new computer might give me grief though, it has the smaller size USB ports, I have a converter though.
DEVONNE welcome back!!! Looking forward to hearing about it all, only gaining a little you must have been eating wisely. I didn't gain either on the ships, the Mr did, but he's a real sweet tooth, if there is a dessert there it has to be eaten LOL
CHERYL we do rely on the phones a lot, especially when I have so much stored on them, I was so worried I would lose the phone number, the cards not so much, they can be replaced. Totally agree with you, it's so generous of Carol to do this and any help no matter how small would make it more a =19.5pxteam effort!
I did class this morning, then raced to get my hair coloured and cut. she does foils every second cut. Next cut is only 3 weeks away, we were going to change it, but I checked and I made it that time because we are supposed to go north for the day, waste of time really, but I have to go, it's too far for him to go alone and drive all day. The centre that W's dad started for handicapped children is unveiling a mural and they have asked family to attend if possible, it's 3 hours at least drive each way, so we will share the driving.
Megan's FIL has still not had surgery, he has been transferred to the other hospital though, no idea on why not. But Gar has spoken to him and he sounds fine, so we are not really sure of the severity, they would have rushed him to surgery if he was in dire need. MIL tends to blow things out of proportion as well, she is a little prone to drama.
He sounds fine, but it will be a long recovery no matter what happens. I just hope he hasn't severed tendons and muscles. Thanks for the good wishes. They won't contact Megan, but will call Gary in Melbourne with news.
The Mr wants to do his vertigo exercises so better go!! I have to support his head.

ANOTHER UNUSUALLY WARM AND LOVELY FEB. DAY HERE IN MAINE. I THINK I MIGHT TAKE A SHORT WALK ALONG THE GARDEN PATHWAYS WHEN I TAKE OUT MY TRASH TODAY. WE HAVE BENCHES ON WHICH TO SIT WHEN WE NEED TO REST.
I MADE A SIMPLE SUPPER......HAMBURGERS ON WHITE BREAD WITH SOME POTATO SALAD SINCE I NEED TO USE THAT UP SOON. I TOOK OUT PORK CHOPS TO DEFROST FOR SUPPER TONITE. MAYBE WITH SOME MASHED POTAOTES.
TODAY I PLAN TO SCRUB DOWN MY KITCHEN CABINETS. THEY NEED IT. I AM AMAZED HOW FINGERMARKS SHOW UP SO EASILY AND THEY ARE ONLY MINE.
DEVONNE......HOW DID GARY ENJOY HOUSE-SITTING FOR YOU AND GETTING AWAY FROM THE HERD? WAS HE ABLE TO GET SOME REST. HOW DID THE DOGS DO IN THAT SITUATION?
NOTHING SPECIAL HAPPENING HERE SO I WILL CLOSE FOR NOW. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT TOMORROW IS THE LAST DAY OF FEB. THEY SAY THAT MARCH COMES IN LIKE A LION SO WE SHALL SEE IF THAT'S TRUE THIS YEAR.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES. STAY SAFE. ENJOY YOUR DAY. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning, Quiltbea, tomorrow is not the last day of Feb, as it is the 28th and there is still the 29th to get through!! At least that's what my calendar says!! There is a very mild breeze today, but it snowed last night and we still have a good inch on the ground. It is about 35* outside, so looks very cold outside.
I have no plans for the day, assume the cleaning lady will be here, so have to get ready for her. I need to go find a sweater, as it is chilly inside here today. Well, I have nothing more to say, so will sign off, wishing you all a wonderful day, BJ.
