THANKS for telling us about STRINGS SANDRA, I do hope she is feeling better soon.
Love the sound of your chicken soup, I need some I think, you share so much with your friends, I am so glad you do that, They would really enjoy it too! I hope you have a few nice warmer days to come, and that snow goes as quick as it came!
DEVONNE those designs are really nice, love the golf one! You will be making lots of shirts in the future I think. Hoping that G gets his pension money, it's been along road for him, I was sorry to read about E's grandmother, she lived a long life.
JANET congrats on the car. We service at the dealers too, I am glad I did with mine, they fixed all the motor issues under warranty, and it was 8 years old. so a good thing I kept going to them. Sorry about your DIL, Megan is having similar issues with in-laws.
Doesn't make for a happy life.
HOLLY that makes how many of the afghans? You've made lots, a good time to be sitting under them as well, I just finished sewing the binding on a quilt, had the a/c on so I was comfy!
CHERYL thanks for the good wishes, may not have to have them done straight away, see the specialist in January. Then they will tell me the plan.
I am still coughing, think I might have it for a while, now Megan is sick, it seems to be going around.
I have to do fasting tests tomorrow, so hopefully I can get enough water down to get a sample as well, see my kidney guy on Wed, he's not going to be happy, I know I haven't drunk enough water every day.
The kids were supposed to go to M's MIL birthday last night, last minute invitation, but M got sick, so G took John up to say happy birthday, M & Dean rang while they were there, but MIL didn't want to speak to M. Always a problem with that family, M is not happy they haven't said anything to John about graduating, or formal, so she's decided that is it, she's not going there again. Hopefully she'll calm down, but I know she is still fuming.
We have sprung a leak, (in the living room) haven't told the Mr yet, it happened last night when they were at the soccer, Pete has been on AND inside the roof, couldn't find anything, I think I'll just wait and see if it happens again, AND it will, covered by insurance anyway, just not good timing this close to the end of the year. Trades people start slowing down for the break, and insurance work slowly!
Couldn't figure out why there was a big pool of water on the floor, then saw it dripping down the blinds from the roof YIKES, used a few towels then it slowed, and it stopped before they got back, the Mr had a competition this morning, knew he'd stress all night if he knew about it, and there was nothing he could do anyway.
Have a wonderful Sunday!

ANOTHER COLD AND SUNNY DAY HERE. I WAS HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THE SOUTH GOT SOME MUCH-NEEDED RAIN. ITS BEEN PRETTY DRY DOWN THERE.
I MADE MY SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS YESTERDAY WHICH I DID NOT SHARE AND I HAVE ENOUGH FOR LEFTOVERS. MY NEIGHBOR NAN TOLD ME NOT TO EAT LUNCH BEFORE SHE GOT HOME TODAY. SHE IS MAKING SOMETHING WITH PASTA AND CHICKEN AFTER CHURCH TODAY. I TOLD HER I HAD PLENTY TO EAT BUT SHE INSISTS. SHE GETS MEALS FROM ME AND WANTS TO RECIPROCATE. I KNOW THE FEELING SO I WILL WAIT TO ENJOY HER LUNCH. SHE HAS CHURCH, THEN CHILDREN'S BIBLE STUDY, THEN SHOPPING FOR A FEW THINGS SO IT MAY BE LATE, LIKE TWO PM OR LATER BUT I HAD A VERY LATE BREAKFAST SO I CAN WAIT. I TOLD HER NOT TO HURRY.
BJ......I HOPE YOU HAD A GOOD TIME AT THE PARADE AND IT WASN'T TOO TIRING FOR YOU.
I WISH YOUR KIDS A GREAT DAY OFF.
CHERYL.......HOW NICE YOU ARE MAKING QUILTS FOR PROJECT LINUS. ALWAYS A GOOD THING.
I THINK OF OUR DEAR KELLY EVERY TIME I TAKE OUT ONE OF MY SNOWMEN DECOR, WHICH I, TOO, LOVE. SHE WAS A GOOD PERSON.
TRISH.......I'M SORRY YOU ARE STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH COUGHING. IT SEEMS TO HAVE SNAGGED YOU GOOD. KEEP TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF.
OOOH, SORRY FOR THE PHANTOM LEAK. I HOPE IT CAN BE FOUND AND FIXED WITHOUT TOO MUCH TROUBLE.
LINDA......I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING A LITTLE BETTER TODAY.
I AM THANKFUL FOR A SUNNY DAY.
I AM THANKFUL FOR WAKING UP FEELING PRETTY GOOD TODAY.
I AM THANKFUL FOR GOOD FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS.
HUGS FOR YOU ALL. QB S

Good Morning, Well, I'm up and dressed and made up!! Did my exercises and took Frank his coffee. Not feeling great this morning, but I'll survive. Tracy and Kendra went up north yesterday to spend the night. They'll be back today and head home. Tracy has some sort of event today, so don't think they'll be too late.
I have a pain in my side, right side, put some pain patches on, hoping that will help. It's been bugging me for a couple of days, not sure what it is, but I'll survive!!
Well, I certainly don't have much to say this morning, so will sign off, wishing you all a wonderful week, Love, BJ.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday!
Linda, hope you are feeling some better today.
Cheryl, glad the 2nd cataract surgery went so well. I'm the same way about cooking...depends on what is going on & how I feel. It's going to be canned soup for dinner. Greg gave me some Simply Campbell Chicken Noodle Soup & I like it.
I cut white fabric this morning and pressed them so they will be ready to embroidery. Later today I plan on cutting more fabric and getting it ready. These blocks will be 12"....for Caleb & Carter.
It's not sunny here, but overcast & rain in the forecast. Spaghetti & meatballs sounds good, Sandra. Will add that to my week's menu.

BJ Hope you and the girls have a great weekend! Tracy is such a bubbly personality, she and the girls would be fun to be around!
SANDRA I wouldn't share the meatballs either LOL I love spaghetti and meatballs, might put that on the menu. I am glad you have sunshine, makes it easier to cope with the days. Enjoy your lunch, whatever it is.
DEVONNE you are surging ahead with those blocks. It does take a while to get everything pressed and cut, a good job out of the way.
Had my fasting bloodwork done, I went to a new place, couldn't find it, ended up being parked quite near it in a big complex LOL The map on my phone sent me the wrong way around the building.
We know why we have water, so now it's just getting it fixed, it's the A/C, a pipe coming from the motor in the roof has come away, and all the water (humidity I guess) had to find a way out of the roof, so it ran down some beams and finally into the window area. Gary was on the phone to Pete (who was in the roof ) and they figured out what it needs, Gary will ry to get parts today, meanwhile -- no A/C -- lucky it's not going to be as hot next couple days. I will contact the insurance people and see what they want to do about replacing the bits of wall and ceiling that have a little water damage, the ceiling is only a line, the other the part needs to be taken out and replaced, means the whole section will need to be repainted, YUK - YUK, I hope they can match the paint, I think it was 1/4 strength Hogs or Pigs something. LOL we may have some old cans showing what it was. Otherwise the whole wall will have to be redone.
Life is fun sometimes, at least we know what it is, and it can be fixed.
See you later, I am going to try to get to my yoga class today, 1st time in weeks, so I know I won't do well!

I could never get away with opening a can of soup for dinner here. Spaghetti and meatballs is one of my very favorites, except here it’s turkey meatballs. Last night we had bbq pulled chicken for dinner. I didn’t make it. I bought it from the Farmhouse Caterers. They specialize in frozen dinners, veggies, etc made right there. This was my first time there. Tuesday I will go back to see what else they have. It was a quick no fuss and yummy alternative to cooking.
Tonight we are having rice and beans leftovers, except I don’t make it with rice but with no yolk noodles, but we still call it rice and beans. . We limit the amount of rice we eat.
Tomorrow pasta and meatballs. And after that 🤷♀️.

I wouldn’t get away with just soup either. Soup and grilled cheese, yes.
We had a good lunch at Outback, we both had Alice Springs chicken and salad. We brought home enough chicken for a lunch.
It was pretty chilly, high only in the 40’s.
I hope Linda feels better!
BJ, I chuckle when you mention putting on makeup in the morning! I don’t own any makeup!

November 12, 2023. Sunday
Prayers and hugs 🫂
Hope you have all had a good day..
Hopefully tomorrow I can have my sewing machine setup in our room.. then I can get to machine sewing again.. I have lots of 🎒, dgson quilt to finish, and I also have several crochet 🪝 / stitch holders to sew up (fabric, zipper, tags with a ring, and a carabiner clip to secure stitch and holder hook) ..
I have missed being able to machine sew.. hand sewing is not so easy any more..
I have been crocheting bags 🎒, afghans, bottle bags (with handles to hang on handles of my walker) I can carry my water , etc with me..
I will catch up tomorrow on reading 📚..
Good night..

BJ........I HAVEN'T USED MAKEUP FOR YEARS NOW AND ITS FREEING ACTUALLY. NO LONGER CLOGGING UP MY PORES. IT DOESN'T AID IN THE GOOD LOOKS DEPT EITHER BUT I AM NOT OUT TO IMPRESS ANYONE AND I FEEL GOOD WITHOUT MAKEUP. I APPLAUD YOU FOR MAKING THE EFFORT AND LOOKING GOOD FOR YOUR HUBBY AND FAMILY, AND I'M SURE FOR YOUR OWN WELL-BEING. WHEN YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR YOU GET A GOOD VIEW.
SAN.......SEE, YOU CAN FIT US IN JUST FINE.
GOOD TO SEE YOU POSTING. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE DOING WELL KEEPING BUSY WITH PROJECTS. I HOPE YOU GET YOUR SEWING MACHINE SET UP SO YOU CAN ALSO SEW.
TRISH......HOORAY YOU FOUND THE LEAK. NOW TO FIX IT.
I HOPE YOU ARE NOT WITHOUT A/C FOR TOO LONG AND ITS NOT TOO HOT FOR YOU BEFORE ITS FIXED.
ARE YOU FEELING ANY BETTER TODAY?
JANET......I COULD NEVER GET AWAY WITH OPENING A CAN FOR A MEAL BACK IN THE DAY. MY BETTER HALF WOULD NOT EAT LEFTOVERS EITHER. HIS ONLY FAULT.
LINDA......I HOPE YOU ARE HAVING A BETTER DAY TODAY.
I HAD A MEAL FROM MY NEIGHBOR YESTERDAY. IT WAS GOOD, CHICKEN WITH EGG NOODLES AND CARROTS IN SOME SAUCE. TODAY I PLAN TO EAT MORE SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS SINCE I HAVE SO MUCH LEFTOVER.
ITS A BRIGHT SUNNY COLD DAY AGAIN. WE HAVE RAIN PROJECTED FOR THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. AND MAYBE SUNDAY, TOO.
I STILL HAVEN'T TURNED ON MY HEAT YET AND TEMPS AT NITE ARE DROPPING TO THE 20S AND 30S NOW. BUT DAYS ITS 30S AND 40S USUALLY WITH SUNSHINE AND NO WIND TO SPEAK OF WHICH MAKES A DIFFERENCE. WHEN IT GETS WINDY, THE BUILDING GETS MUCH COOLER.
NOT MUCH TO SAY. DOING A BIT HERE AND THERE IN THE HOUSE. A LOT OF TV, CROSSWORD PUZZLES, SOLITAIRE, SOME READING AND EVEN SOME XMAS DOODLING. KEEPS ME OFF THE STREETS. TODAY I THINK I WILL VACUUM. I GET CRUMBS ON THE LIVING ROOM CARPET SINCE I EAT IN THE LIVING ROOM FOR ALL MEALS.
STAY SAFE MY FRIENDS. HUGS, QB S

Good Morning, I'm not very bright this morning, so moving very slowly. It is totally still outside, the sky is very blue and it is 47*. Not much going on, Frank has a Dr. appt. this afternoon, and Rhonda has a massage at 3:30. So she should feel good after.
I really don't have anything to say, well, Tracy just called me, she's on her way to work. Wishing you all a great day, Love, BJ.

Trish, glad it's a less expensive fix than a new roof being needed!
Diana, glad you could make it here! Hoping you can "drop in" every day to quickly read! Hooray for you getting your sewing machine set up. I would miss mine so much!
I drove Gary to his dr. appt. this morning. Social Security is the one that has requested all these appts. He has like 7 appts.! The one Thursday is with a hematologist, not requested by SS, because his white & red blood count is too high. He had the results back in 20 minutes! He has degenerative disc disease and a plantar spur in his foot.
I decided a can of soup wasn't enough for dinner, so I had 1/2 cup of soup and a chicken salad sandwich. I get my chicken salad and ham salad already made at Publix. I can easily get 4 sandwiches out of each container, so well worth it!
Offline
Devonne, maybe SS wants all the appts to decide if he should get SSI?
As soon as Ralph gets lunch, we’re going food shopping. He just got back from a doc appt. Because Medicare will pay for a routine visit every 3 months, they want us to come in that often. Ralph does, I refuse, I go every 6 months. Medicare paying isn’t a reason to do something, in my opinion. If it’s needed, it’s needed.
It’s 50 and sunny. Steph is at Portland Airport for her Orlando flight for a work meeting. Thursday she’ll fly from Orlando to Philly, Dan will fly in from Portland, and they’ll meet at the airport, and will be here til Monday. Dan’s family is having early Thanksgiving on Sunday for them.

OMG, the grocery store was insane. We usually go before noon. Today every aisle had people stocking, and shoppers everywhere.

Local grocery store is having a big turkey sale! But they don’t have but a few turkeys. 🤨🤪. I have what I need but seriously? Anyway, stores here are usual but I’m sure will be nutty at the end of the week.

Hi, everyone! I didn't get here Saturday night to bump the threads for Trish! I'm so sorry! It has been so busy around here with DH's surgery and I was a bit under the weather over the weekend.
DH is doing well. Sore, but well.
I've been especially busy with reviews, but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. And just in time for birthday prep and cooking, as well as cooking for Thanksgiving! And I have a colonoscopy the Monday after Thansgiving. Poor timing, but when is a good time for one? I had to reschedule from July and this was the next available. Crazy!
I hope everyone is well! Back when I can!

I'm sorry DIANE I missed your DH having surgery, hope he is OK, and you can relax a little soon, you have had a lot on your plate!
SAN god to see you visit, hope you can pop in each day, just for a quick visit, we miss hearing from friends, Hope your little guy is doing well, he must be about 2 now??
SNADRA I ned to do my floors too, I noticed the kitchen floor is pretty grotty, I might get to it tomorrow, problem is the Mr, if he spills something he might wipe it up, but often leaves marks LOL He thinks hr dos a really good job with cleaning, so I let him go, and I do the bathrooms again during thee week, they need doing every few days anyway LOL
DEVONNE I do hope that Gary gets his SS, that will make a big difference to them, fingers crossed..
Holly good to hear you were able to get your turkey, will you have any family around, or friends?
JANET hope you get your turkey too, you do well with online ordering so I'm sure you will get something. I'm sorry for the angst with your DIL, it would be great if you could have time with your family (((hugs))
Had a bit of a giggle about soup for dinner, it would not do here either, UNLESS it's my meat veg soup, that is almost like a stew anyway! We had sausage and salads tonight, I was tired, and really couldn't be bothered.
I went to training this morning, managed pretty well, but was tired, then had a quick trip to pick Dean up for his ENT appt. We made it there before his mum, but the Dr was late, he'd been in surgery.
He checked Dean out, and I saw the camera view, he has lots and lots of thick veins in his nose, the Dr said he didn't want to do anything in the office, and would only do it under General A. And did they have anything on this Thursday?
Dean said he would rather get it all done then, so today has been filling out forms, getting payments made, and liasing with the Drs office for all of that. A few hours later it's all booked in. The hospital forms took Megan ages, but Gary will be able to take time off, and I will also available, she will be available part of the day too, just depends on when the hospital want them to be there, Dr says he will have a "numb nose" for 24 + hours, and all the injections etc will be done once he's under the General.
He did have a reaction when he was 7yrs old, erratic heart beat, so the hospital has been made aware. It's the same Dr he had for tonsils/adenoids.
I was so tired when I got home I curled up on the sofa and just rested! It will be an early night for me.
Pete is working from home for a while in the morning, so he can go in the roof and see if the A/C leaks when I turn it on, it's been 'resting' and the glue/taping that Gary & Pete did drying, hopefully it will work without leaking! Fingers crossed! They found quite a bit of water damage in the ceiling, one bit we hadn't seen in the living room, we'll wait till we have a lot of rain and also know the A/C is working before we report it to insurance, if it needs to wait to be done so be it!

Trish, Manda, Ben and the kids will be here for Turkey Day! They get in next Monday night and will be here for a week! They’ll be here some days, and at Heather’s some days, Thanksgiving dinner will be at Heather’s. I’m doing the turkey, stuffing, yams for the omnivores, and Heather will do the main dish for the herbivores, LOL.
I just started full size Afghan #12, I’m calling it Montego Bay, plus I did a baby size and a doggie size.

I GOT MOST OF MY TARGET ORDER FROM THE 11TH. JUST WAITING ON THE SLICING KNIFE AND THE MORINGA AND CELERY SALT. I PLACED ANOTHER ORDER YESTERDAY. I WANT A NEW CAST IRON GRIDDLE FOR TOASTING MY BREAD. I JUST DO NOT CARE FOR TOAST FROM THE TOASTER. IN THE OLD DAYS WE TOSSED OUR BREAD ON THE TOP OF THE OIL STOVE OR WOOD STOVE TO TOAST. IT WAS SOOOO GOOD AND ITS ALSO SOFT. I USED A GRIDDLE TO DO THAT FOR SEVERAL YEARS BUT IT GOT RUSTED WHEN I LEFT IT SITTING IN THE CUPBOARD TOO LONG AND I DID NOT HAVE THE ENERGY TO REMOVE THAT RUST SO I TOSSED IT SOME MONTHS AGO. I MISS TOAST IN THAT MANNER. IT WILL BE GOOD TO HAVE IT AGAIN.
ITS A CLOUDY DAY HERE FOLKS. COLD OUT AND RAIN COMING SOON BUT NOT TODAY.
I HAVE DEFROSTED SOME GROUND BEEF SO I CAN MAKE UP SOME BUNDIES FOR MY DAUGHTER. SHE OR ONE OF THE GIRLS WILL BE DELIVERING MY TURKEY IN A COUPLE DAYS SO I WANT HER TO TAKE HOME SOME BUNDIES. SHE LOVES THEM.
ONE OF MY NEIGHBORS HAS NOTIFIED ME SHE HAS ORDERED AN APPLE PIE AND WILL BE SENDING ME SOME FOR T-DAY. SHE HAS A LARGE TURKEY SHE AND ANOTHER LADY ARE SHARING IT ON T-DAY.
AS FOR ME, I AM NOT ONE TO HAVE TONS OF SIDE DISHES SINCE I AM ALONE. JUST THE THINGS I LIKE BEST. MY PLANS ARE THE TURKEY BREAST ROASTED, BREAD AND SAUSAGE STUFFING (DRESSING SINCE ITS ON THE SIDE) MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY. THAT'S ENOUGH TO KEEP ME SMILING ALL DAY. I DON'T EVEN WANT SALAD TO FILL THE EMPTY SPACES, JUST TURKEY BREAST.
DIANE.......GLAD TO HEAR YOUR HUBBY IS DOING WELL AFTER SURGERY. I HOPE HE CONTINUES TO HEAL QUICKLY.
TRISH.....YOU ARE ALREADY GETTING BACK TO EXERCISING AGAIN. DON'T PUSH YOURSELF TOO EARLY. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF NUMBER ONE.
LINDA......I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER TODAY. SENDING GOOD THOUGHTS YOUR WAY.
NOTHING ELSE TO REPORT LADIES. SLOW LIFE HERE IN THE SLOW LANE OF THE ELDERLY. STAY SAFE. HUGS, QB S
