Strings, when I have problems with a device, my son always tells me to restart it. Most of the time everything is fine after that.  Maybe that will solve your phone trouble.

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

Another hot and humid day, AC still on. I made us dippy eggs, toast and bacon for breakfast. Pondering dinner, as usual.

Patty, when you made the comment about the spam museum, my mind went right to email spam, something Comcast is terrible about blocking.

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

LINDA..........I CHECKED OUT SIM CARD ON GOOLE BUT ITS CONFUSING TO ME.  I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW ITS USED IN A PHONE...OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER.  NO TECHNICAL KNOW-HOW IN ME..  I HOPE THE PHONE CO. GETS YOU STRAIGHTENED OUT.

I ROASTED ANOTHER BATCH OF TOMATOES FOR THE FREEZER YESTEREDAY.  TODAY I WILL CHECK MY GARDEN AND HARVEST MORE OF THE DARLING RED VEGGIES.   YES, I CALL THEM VEGGIES, NOT FRUITS.  I THINK OF FRUIT AS A DESSERT, NOT A BASIC SIDE DISH FOR MEALS.  IF SEEDS INSIDE AN ITEM MEANS THEY ARE FRUITS, THEN SO ARE SQUASHES, ZUCCHINI, EGGPLANT, PEPPERS, AND CUCUMBERS AND ALL SO ON.
I ALSO MADE A BATCH OF COOKED CHOC PUDDING TO SNACK ON.  BETWEEN ICE CREAM AND PUDDING I HAVE ALMOST ENOUGH TO SATISFY MY SUGAR NEEDS.
ANOTHER LOVELY DAY HERE IN VACATIONLAND.  THAT'S ON OUR LICENSE PLATES AND ITS SO TRUE.  LOTS OF VACATIONERS HERE IN SUMMER AND IN WINTER FOR SKIING, SKATING AND SNOWMOBILING.

DEVONNE......IF YOU NEVER EVEN GET OFF A CRUISE SHIP AND KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, WHY DO YOU EVEN BOTHER?  IS IT THE ENTERTAINMENT, THE FOOD (WHICH THEY ARE NOW LIMITING) OR WHAT?  I'M CONFUSED.  YOU CAN RELAX NICELY IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD WITHOUT THAT TERRIBLE EXPENSE.

TODAY I PLAN TO CLEAN MY CUPBOARDS, THE OUTSIDE OF THEM.  THEY NEED A GOOD CLEANING.  SPOTS AND MARKS HERE AND THERE WHEN ONE COOKS IN THE KITCHEN.  THAT SHOULD KEEP BE BUSY ALL DAY WITH SEVERAL BREAKS IN BETWEEN.  GOT THE CLEANING MATERIAL AT THE READY.

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GOOD DAY.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

Sandra, your comment about tomatoes reminded me of something a friend said. Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.  Wisdom is not putting it in fruit salad.

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

MARYLOU......YOU POSTED BEFORE I WAS FINISHED.  I SUBMIT A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE I'M DONE SO I DO NOT LOSE THE WHOLE SHEBANG.  AND I LIKE THAT COMMENT ABOUT FRUIT SALAD AND TOMATOES.  WHAT ABOUT CUCUMBERS AND THEIR SEEDS?  I ONLY USE THOSE IN A VEGGIE SALAD.

HOLLY.......PLEASE KEEP YOUR HEAT AND NOT SEND IT NORTH.  WE ARE FINE HERE IN THE 70S.

I JUST ADDED TO MY LIST.  I NEED TO VACUUM AGAIN.  WHERE DOES THE STUFF COME FROM.  LITTLE BITS OF WHITE HERE AND THERE.  MUST BE BREAD CRUMBS OR BITS OF PAPER.  ALWAYS SOMETHING.

BE SAFE LADIES.  HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

Good Morning, just got out of the shower, it's 8:30, so I'm trying to catch my breath.  Good thing Tracy  was here to help me, I'd never be able to do it alone.  I'm wearing black and red today, it is 60* outside, but supposed to be in the 80's before the day is over.

I'm really hungry this morning.  Tracy is taking a shower, then we'll have some breakfast.  It is really still outside, not a breath of air moving at all.  Tracy just went out and cut some flowers, they're so beautiful!!  We're fortunate to have lots of flowers in our yard.  So nice!!

Well, I can't think of anything else to say so will sign off, wishing you all well, have a wonderful day, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

Big time gap between BJ's and my posts.  Must be a busy day for many.  It's cool and cloudy here after a week of nearly unbreathable outside air and heat.  I love the change.  I never want to give up on summer but sometimes the heat does get tiresome.

"PONDERING" dinner, as usual, Holly!  Love that as it is my state everyday too    Am trying an internet crockpot recipe for meatloaf using Stove Top dressing as the filler.  Many rave reviews.  Hope they're right.
Because there's only the two of us, I halved it.  While logical, sometimes that works, sometimes, not. Using this emoji because of all my failures and  IMHO untrue reviews.

Patty, have a lovely time away.  Sounds like fun.  I actually really like Spam.  Always keep a can on hand and like it fried up a bit.  I know there are quite a few kinds but I try to get either the low sodium or lite kind.

The funeral for Beth was well-attended.  The priest that married them 23 yrs. ago gave the sermon.  He is Brent's life-long friend.  St. Paul's Catholic Church has breathtakingly beautiful modern stained glass windows.  Howard and I, being protestant, were somewhat fish out of water, but we tried, ...as in, I was trying to find the hymn we were to sing  in the blue book, with no luck.  The lady behind us, one of Beth's old teachers, who we'd been chatting with, leaned forward and whispered, "It's the red book."   We, of course, sat quietly still during the Mass.  We couldn't stay for the meal.  Had to be at our small group before 1 pm.   Stopped at home to change clothes, "change gears" and grab the salad I had to take.  A change from our usual staid and rather boring life.   The hostess served a variation of Holly's crockpot tortellini soup.  I thought ours is better, though.  Kept that to myself, of course...

Linda, I'm sorry for all the frustration you're going through.  Electronics can wreck your life!  It's amazing how often cell phone calls just drop out for no apparent reason.  Enjoy your bounty of tomatoes.

BJ, glad to hear Frank's doing well.  Wish Tracy lived closer, but she manages to be with you as much as she can.  I'm so glad Rhonda is nearby...your lovely girls.  Do what you can, leave the rest  until another day.  That's my motto much of the time...
Going to send this.  Can smell the meatloaf and should probably turn it down to LOW.
Indy

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

JUDY........SPAM IS THE SAME AS THE SLICED SPICED HAM WE USED TO GET AT THE CORNER GROCER'S FOR SANDWICHES WHEN I WAS A KID, THE 40S AND 50S.  IT CAME IN A LONG LOAF LIKE BOLOGNA.  I USED TO EAT IT WITH KETCHUP ON MY BREAD.  LIKED IT, TOO.  HAVEN'T HAD SPAM BUT ONCE THOUGH.  ITS BEEN YEARS SINCE I WAS A KID AND EATING THOSE SANDWICHES.
GLAD YOU DID WELL AT THE FUNERAL.  CATHOLIC CHURCHES ARE VERY CEREMONIAL.  DIFFICULT FOR OTHERS TO UNDERSTAND SOMETIMES.

GOSH, I PICKED SO MANY TOMATOES TODAY I LEFT SEVERAL ON THE MAILBOX COUNTER FOR OTHERS TO ENJOY.  MY PLANTS ARE GOING FULL BLAZES RIGHT NOW.  THANKFULLY WE GOT ANOTHER INCH OF RAIN YESTERDAY SO AGAIN, NO WATERING JOB FOR THIS OLD LADY.  MOTHER NATURE HAS MADE IT EASY FOR ME THIS SUMMER.  I SEE MORE ROASTING TOMS TOMORROW OR MONDAY.
FOLKS MUST BE BUSY TODAY.  ITS SATURDAY AND MOST FOLKS DO SHOPPING OR VISIT WITH OTHERS ON THE WEEKENDS SO ARE BUSY.  ENJOY.
HUGS, QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY AUG 20 ~ SAT AUG 26

Greg and Carter came and we went to Longhorn for lunch. Then we went to a place called the Cat Cafe. It's kittens and full grown cats in a "living room" environment. There are two rooms. You have an hour to sit and play with them & you can adopt if you desire. They have a tv screen showing all the adoptions. They have it set up so nice. There are little beds on the walls for them to sleep in and lots of other type beds, toys, etc. They keep it very clean.

Sandra, the ports were fun in the beginning, but once you've done that, they're all the same. The #1 reason is to spend a week with family. Reason #2 is we love the casino! Carter gets to do water slides, arcades, swimming & we play mini golf a lot. There is so much to do, you could never do it all in 7 days. Where else can you get pizza at midnight and all the ice cream cones you want, lol? We took a pizza making class on our last cruise and one of the chefs taught the class. We got to pick our own ingredients.

My embroidery machine has been a workhorse, so it's no surprise it's headed to the shop....again. It is an older machine. This time it's the automatic threader. It won't thread my machine. Greg is taking it to the shop for me, as it's closer to his house.

I've been doing some major cleaning with the patio and cleaned out the fridge this evening. Did a load of clothes early this morning. I'll be resting tomorrow.

eta: Edited to decrease my "book" to Sandra, lol.
