Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Good Morning to everyone!!  Hope you are all doing well.  It is pretty cloudy here this morning, but the sun pokes through every once in awhile.  Have no plans for the day, Frank thinks I might have a nurse coming, not sure.  It is so still outside and 58*.  May get better as the day progresses.

Have no plans for the day, will just watch TV and drink coffee.  Hooray!!
My baskets of flowers are so beautiful, Tracy fixes them for me, she is so sweet.  They are hanging outside everywhere.  She's a peach!!

Well, I think I will sign off and move along. Hope everyone has a wonderful day, sending love and best wishes, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

New blog post up with a pic of the ocean Afghan!

Ralph is on the train, somewhere in NC.

The news was talking about how the collapse in I-95 will affect the supply chain. 14,000 trucks a day use that section of highway! Maybe t being a federal highway will speed things up, I hope.

John’s CT was a week ago, and no results yet. My brother Mike is mad that it’s taking so long. I expected it, because, Florida.

Well we went to the dealer and ordered a car. 6-8 weeks. 😵‍💫 once it goes into production in July.

Holly- anything to do with the federal government will probably take longer than it should. Glad we don’t use that stretch of 95.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Janet, yeah, it’s an added layer of bureaucracy. I’m hoping, since it’s gotten so much news, that the PA people can squawk enough to get it done in a timely manner. My grocery prices are bad enough now, due to record profits by big companies, that I don’t need them raised by supply chain issues.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Afternoon y'all!
Holly hopefully they can fix it like they did the I-85 collapse a few years back.  They can make the actual bridge elsewhere and then haul it to the place to install, cool process and faster than fixing onsite!
DS don't tempt me with NSDB!
QB feel better!
My morning walk was delayed, again, today.  Got an email and text from realtor!  Got an offer on the lake house.  I just countered.  Cash offer, and as is!!!!  Very excited.  A few requests, stuff we were expecting!  I was planning on doing the stuff they requested once mom was moved!  I still can, depends on contractors!  They are always a variable you can't control!
Did half my walk before lunch, came back, made mom's lunch and went back out and finished the walk!  I also was squeaking enough that I got the direct deposit paperwork from a royalty account mom has, so that is filled out and ready to go!  I will go to the PO tomorrow!  Did laundry, one load done the other in the dryer, got a huge mustard stain out of one of mom's gowns!  Had to wash the gown twice, but it's gone!
Been running from laptop to printer to table and back to printer to make copies, if the house were not so small I would have done my steps for the day.  LOL! I was re-energized!  I hope they take the counter offer it's not much above what they asked!
Mom told me today she has finally gotten her mind right and is on board with moving!  Hopefully she will keep this attitude.  Next Saturday will be a long day!
I think there's nothing else exciting to report.  I am exhausted from this morning alone, let alone not getting enough sleep here.  I'm ready to sleep a good night when I get home!
Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

They rejected counter offer!  I am just going with the original offer!  We need to get rid of the albatross that is this lake property!
It's like a boat a hole in the water that money is going down the hole!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Carter and Greg are in Las Vegas. They are spending a few days there and flying to Tucson for the second part of their vacation. He took $80 to the casino and won $375. He is the luckiest person ever in casinos.

Holly, the same thing happened here to one of our major interstates about 6 years ago. The GDT stored materials under the bridge so it was partially their fault, but they did arrest 3 people for arson, but nothing came of those charges. They had to replace six sections going north and south bound.

I just spent $200 on groceries. I'm trying to do low carb again and there's not much at the grocery store that is low carb. Pass ideas along if you have any.
Janet, "a car?" You must not be too excited as you didn't say what kind.

eta: Holly, I just looked up the I-85 damage & repair. It happened in March 30, 2017 and reopened May 12. So 43 days. That's not bad considering how much damage there was. I'm sure you will be glad when Ralph makes it home.
I didn't sleep good at all last night, so I'm off to take a nap.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Theresa, yay on the counter offer! I’m curious as to why your mom didn’t sell the lake house when your dad died?

Devonne, there is/was an underpass under the area that collapsed. A tanker truck caught fire while on the underpass, and the fire weakened and caused the overpass area to collapse. So I haven’t heard of any arson considerations.

I’m trying to start a virus stitch blanket, it’s been ripped out 3 times so far. I have printed directions, and have watched 2 videos. It might make me crazy.

Ralph is now in Arlington, VA, 130 miles to home!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Holly, my Dsis wanted to do either an air BNB or VRBO with it.  Mom kept telling me to sell it and my sister had control, and I needed dad's will probated, which she never did!  My sister also said that mom would not give her POA.  Took me no time to get it!  Mom is thrilled to get rid of the place.  Paying taxes, utilities, and such for a place not being used!  This is a big win~win for mom, no more taxes to pay, at the lake, and she gets living expenses along with fun money!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

THERESA that is great news, not long now, you and mum move the same day we are travelling, I’ll be thinking of you 😀. Maybe when you sell both properties and mum is settled you can send your brother a card with the new address for mum and phone number advising him of sales and her relocation😃

HOLLY it's going to take quite a while to fix. Everything has gone up here too.

INDY they will be in the UK for Trooping the Colour, think it’s this Saturday. I’d love to see it, maybe they will be in the Cotswolds then ?

SANDRA hope your tum settles down, was it something you ate? Rest easy, do you have some soda water. I also had an upset night before last, up from 2am, I think the salad I had was the culprit, suspect the greens were  not washed, we had to be out all day at his first comp, so was glad I was ok in the morning.
Stuck with no food and cola to drink until lunch 🤪

CAROL what an amazing find, I’m glad your sis didn’t stay angry 😆, such a lot of memories.

JANET what car did you end up buying. Some here are taking up to 2 years to get.

DEVONNE he is a lucky man, hope they have a good time !
We had  long day yesterday, had to be at the game by 8.30, it was a little over 1/2 hour away. They didn’t play as well as they would have liked, but still won 2 of the 3 games, Monday is going to be even longer, the venue is a long way. And the traffic heading there pretty bad, with roadworks thrown in for good measure😀
We’ll have to leave by 7am, and we will stay at that club for dinner, hopefully missing the commuter traffic.

I have been bored here, but no more than I expected - this is his time, keep telling myself “it’s only 2 weeks”
I think the choice of apartment wasn’t great this time, it’s a fair walk for coffee, the coffee shop at the building here is closed for 2 weeks for renovations - just my luck 🤣

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

ITS A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY HERE AND WILL REACH THE HIGH 70S.  NICE.
I AM OVER WHATEVER BOTHERED ME, THANK GOODNESS.  THE ONLY THING I HAD WAS A CINNAMON MUFFIN FROM A NEIGHBOR SO DON'T KNOW WHY THE TUMMY UPSET.
DID I TELL YOU I WON $5.25 AT BINGO WED NITE.  ANY TIME I COME HOME WITH MORE QUARTERS THAN WHEN I LEFT I FEEL RICH.
I LOVE MY VANILLA CASHMERE BODY LOTION.  ITS A TOUCH OF VANILLA, BUT NOT TOO MUCH.  AND ITS PLEASANT.  I WILL CERTAINLY BUY IT AGAIN.  I DO NOT LIKE STRONG SCENTS.  GOT IT FROM TARGET.  THEY ALREADY PROCESSED MY REFUND FOR THE BROKEN DISH WHICH I DID NOT HAVE TO RETURN.

CAROL......WOW, THAT'S A LOT OF PHOTOS.  I AM SURE THE MUSEUM WILL BE ABLE TO USE SOME OF THEM.  LUCKY THEM.

TRISH......SOMETIMES ONE MUST JUST GO WITH THE FLOW AND TRY TO ENJOY WHATEVER YOU CAN ON A TRIP.  THERE IS SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE.
THANK YOU, I AM FEELING RIGHT AS RAIN TODAY.

HOLLY........I LOVE THAT NEW OCEANS AFGHAN.  I LOVE THE WAVY ONES.  AND THE COLORS ARE NICE.

DEVONNE.......HOW LUCKY FOR GREG TO WIN AT THE CASINOS.  TOO BAD HE COULDN'T WIN A BIG LOTTERY.
YOU ARE DOING LOTS OF YARD WORK.  I AM SURE IT WILL PAY OFF DIVIDENDS WITH LOTS OF LOVELY COLOR.  YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT PERENNIALS.....1ST YEAR SLEEP, 2ND YEAR CREEP, 3RD YEAR LEAP.  THEN YOU WILL HAVE COLOR ALL THE TIME AND IN ABUNDANCE.

THERESA.......WONDERFUL FOR YOU THAT AN OFFER HAS BEEN MADE ON THE LAKE HOUSE AND YOU DECIDED TO TAKE IT.  THAT WILL GIVE YOU A LOAD OFF YOUR MIND.  THEN YOU CAN CONCENTRATE ON MOM AND THE HOUSE AND GETTING HER MOVED.

LINDA......I HOPE YOUR FLOWERS ARE DOING WELL.  YOU HAVE BEEN PLANTING QUITE A BIT AROUND THE HOUSE THIS YEAR.  I AM SURE IT WILL PAY OFF AND LOOK LOVELY.

MY SON SHOPS FOR ME TOMORROW.  I ALREADY MADE BUNDIES AND PUT HIS IN THE FREEZER AND TODAY I WILL MAKE CHICKEN RICE SOUP FOR HIM, A COUPLE NEIGHBORS, AND ME.
MY A/C UNIT HAS THE CLEAN FILTER LIGHT ON SO I HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO DO THAT.  I UNDERSTAND I CAN VACUUM IT.  I HAVE YET TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE FRONT WHERE THE FILTER IS LOCATED.  MAYBE I NEED MY SON'S STRONGER HANDS.  I WILL TRY AGAIN LATER.

I THINNED OUT ONE OF MY CUKE PLANTS AND PLANTED IT IN A CAGE WHERE NONE CAME UP.  THEY DO NOT TRANSPLANT WELL SO IT MAY NOT MAKE IT BUT IF IT DOESN'T, I WILL JUST PLANT A COUPLE SEEDS NEXT WEEK.  I HAVE PLENTY OF TIME YET.
THAT'S IT FROM ME.  HUGS TO ALL.  QB S

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Good Morning to everyone.  Have done my exercises and am sitting here right now eating my breakfast!  Wow! What an exciting day!!! Ha, Ha!  It is completely cool and still outside, it is 63* here at 8:30a.m.   No sun!!  The woman who cleans for me is due here today at 9.  Not a huge amount to do today, but it sure is nice to have it cleaned.

I don't have any plans for the day, it is so still and gray outside, will likely just watch TV, another exciting day here.  Think  I will sign off and wish you all well, BJ.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

Afternoon y'all!
Trish, you brought a book or handwork?  I would do that when I had to do boring things with hubby!  Also not calling/writing or texting NSDB, until I have to deposit all his stuff somewhere!
QB congrats on the win.  The neighbor here has cukes already.  Not ready to pick, I hope I get a couple before we leave!
Boring day here.  Walked, talked to a neighbor, and fixed mom lunch, then a neighbor came and asked for some help, ran to his house, not sure I was much help.  I still need to finish folding laundry from yesterday!
I am also emptying a couple bins into a big box.  Box will stay here, bins go with mom.  My niece is coming this weekend, to help me pack mom.  I have the bins ready to pack.  I am overwhelmed, by mom's closet, my niece knows more of what looks good on mom.
Most of the mom packing right now is loading it on the U-Haul!  I still have to decide on what furniture.  Hopefully hubby will have an opinion!
Not much more to say, yesterdays events still have not sunk in.  I also am not counting that egg as hatched until they sign on the dotted line, that will be next month!
Guess I need to get moving!  Later my Friends!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

We went to the Apple Store to get Ralph a new iPad to replace the one he gave John, and for a new small laptop for me to replace the one I gave John. Then we went to a drive in place for lunch, it was getting so dark out that we ordered it to go. By the time it came it was teeming out! On the way home two traffic lights were out and cops were directing traffic. Lucky, our power had only blinked. The rain was only a drizzle by the time we pulled into the yard.

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

What a lazy day I have had. I read on the patio and had my morning coffee. It was a nice morning breeze.

Theresa, I hope the guy stays interested in your Mom's house. I'm glad you accepted the offer on the lake house. One down and one to go!

Sandra, that's a good win for you! I didn't know that saying about perennials. It makes sense. I've never had any luck with mums coming back and they are a perennial. My azaleas have grown a lot since last year. I'll fertilize them before Monday, when more rain is expected.

Holly, congrats on a new Ipad for Ralph and laptop for you!

I misplaced the remote to the living room tv, so removed the comforter & everything off my bed. Not there, but the sheets got changed. No clue where it is and it's been missing 3 days. I've getting tired of watching tv in the bedroom.

Trish, have you considered staying home and letting Warwick go to the bowls by himself? It's bad to be bored when you're paying for the place you're staying, lol!

Re: ODT SUNDAY JUNE 11 ~ SAT JUNE 17

EVENING!

WE DID HAVE SOME EXCITEMENT TODAY. SOLD A CAR. DARRELL FINALLY AGREED TO GET RID OF HIS VERY OLD VECHICLE. PLEASED WWITH WHAT WE GOT FOR IT. I WAS ALMOST AFRAID WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY SOMEONE TO HAUL AWAY. THE GARAGE THAT HAD DONE A LOT OF WORK ON OUR CARS FOR YEARS BOUGHT IT. BROUGHT AN AIR TANK TO INFLATE A TIRE, HAD SOME TAGS (PROBABL DEALER, FORGOT TO LOOK) AND GOT IT JUMP STARTED.  HE SAID HE WILL FIX SOME THINGS ON IT AND HAS A BUYER FOR IT. HE SEEMED PLEASED AND WE WERE PLEASED.

THERESA, GLAD YOU ARE GETTING SO NEAR THE END OF ALL THIS. GLAD THE LAKE HOUSE SOLD QUICKLY. HOPE YOUR MOM'S HOME DOES THE SAME.  I THINK SOME FRAMED PHOTOS OF FAMILY WOULD BE NICE FOR HER ROOM. MAYBE SOME OF WHEN SHE WAS YOUNG. GUESS SHE WILL NEED A BED, DRESSER AND A COMFORTABLE CHAIR. IF SHE HAS ROOM MAYBE A SOMETHING OF HER COLLECTIONS THAT MAYBE NOT TOO EXPENSIVE ONES. JUST SOMETHING LIKE SHE HAD AT HOME. ANYTHING TO MAKE HER ROOM "HOMEY". FAVORITE AFGHAN, ARTWORK ETC. FAVE BEDSPREAD. JUST A FEW IDEAS. YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY THOUGHT OF ALL THESE.

HOLLY, HAVE CHECKED OUT YOUR AFGHANS ON YOUR BLOG AND ALSO WHEN YOU POST OF FACEBOOK. THE OCEAN ONE LOOKS SIMILAR TO THE RIPPLE AFGHANS. I DO LIKE THE COLORS IN THE OCEAN ONE.

SANDRA, GLAD YOU ARE OVER THE TUM TUM ISSUES. WAITING FOR SOME RAIN THE FIRST OF THE WEEK. GLAD YOUR GARDEN IS GETTING SOME. GOOD LUCK ON FIGURING OUT CLEANING THE FLITLER. SEEMS AWFULLY SOON TO NEED CLEANING.

CAROL, GLAD YOU ARE BACK. WHAT A TREASURE ALL THOSE PHOTOS. I AM SURE THE MUSEUM WILL BE THRILLED WITH THEM. KNOW THE D DAY ONE NEAR HERE HAS PUT OUT CALLS FOR ALL KINDS OF STUFF.

HOPE TAMMY IS DOING OKAY. SUCH A HEARTACHE.

TRISH, SORRY ABOUT THE BOREDOM, BUT YOU ARE NOT HAVING TO DO YOUR REGULAR HOUSEWORK, SO HOPE YOU CAN FIND SOME THINGS TO DO.

BJ, SAN, MAARILYN AND OTHERS HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL. WISHING THOSE WITH EYE ISSUES IMPROVEMENT.

THINKING OF EVEYONE. PRAYERS........................................................
