3 cups flour; 2 cups sugar; 1 cup shortening. Blend well with pastry blender; set aside one cup for topping and add 2 tsp. cinnamon to that one cup.
Add remaining ingredients to flour/sugar/shortening:
1 1/2 cups sour milk; 2 eggs;1 tsp. each of cinnamon, allspice, cloves and 1 T. vinegar to which has been added 1 tsp. baking soda. Stir together and place in 9 x 13 greased pan. (This tends to rise a lot in center, so flatten batter well and maybe leave a bit hollow in center.
Then cover with the topping (spreading evenly) and bake at 350* for approx 45 minutes.
