1pound kielbasa or any sausage or bratwurst, sliced into bite sized pieces
2 tbsp EVOO
1 stalk celery, diced
1 small green cabbage, chopped
2 medium carrots, peeled and diced
(I substituted a bag of cole slaw mixture)
3 cloves garlic, minced
6 cups chicken or vegetable stock
1 pound red potatoes, diced
1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Cook sausage over medium heat 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, til lightly browned. Transfer to a bowl or plate. Add EVOO, celery and garlic, amd sauté for 5 minutes.
Here’s where I altered the recipe. I then transferred the sausage and celery mixture to the crockpot, added everything else, amd cooked on low for 6 hours.
The recipe called for adding the cabbage and sauté 4 more minutes, then transferring it all to a stockpot with the other ingredients, covering, and simmering til the potatoes are tender.
